01x36 - Animaniacs!

Post by bunniefuu »

Smooth moves is what people are sleeping

on final stay. Oh, well. It's only intro

to animation. True, I've never been to a

single class.

Yes, great. Enrolled in a class I've

never been to or heard of. But if it's

animation, I'll probably just have to

watch some goofy cartoons. Yeah, it'll be

excellent! Well,

look who finally made it to Klaras!

What's going on?Well, where are the

cartoons?We're making them for the

animation festival tonight. Making them?

For tonight?Look, it's the only way you

get a passing grade. You do know how to

make a cartoon, don't you?Oh, sure.

You get a camera, some weird scenery, and

some goofy looking people, and take

pictures. This looks like a job for the

magic planet.

Now hold still...

Just giving you a fast lesson in

animation...

As long as anyone can remember, people

have been fascinated by pictures that

move. Let's take a look

inside our HID Sign animation

studio. It begins with the writers. They

dream up wacky situations for our cartoon

actors to play out.

From this baiting simulation, they think

of the sightgags and jokes to be called

comedy beats.

That's enough comedy beats already.

Next, the writer's ideas get translated

to a storyboard.

That's sort of a comic strip for the

other artists to follow.

If this were a comic strip, there'd be a

gag right here. And it went

for bushed. The

storyboard goes to the layout artist.

He's a cartoonist who draws poses to

define and broaden the action only hinted

at in the storyboard.

Then, the background harvest, study the

story for it to get ideas for our cartoon

Steady.

Old McPluckie had a farm.

Then the drawings are rushed to the

background painters.

I was thinking of something in his heart

shoes.

Ready, set, okay. Create,

guy.

Geez. Meanwhile, the animation script is

being recorded by talented, gifted,

genius voice artists. This court

thinks it needs more comedy beats.

Impostor doesn't sound a thing like this.

Hey, Buster, when does the fun begin?

Well, if you're the lucky artist called

Animator, fun means motion. We've

added drawings done by assistant

animators, and the finished animation

looks like this. They called a pencil

test. Pencil fest?Ah I'll show you

pencil fest.

Do I see one of you cute bees hate them?

Watch it, you latheads!

Pencil fest! Little joke! Another one of

those comedy beats.

Next, all those animation drawings you

just saw get traced onto clear plastic

sheets of all cells, ready for painting.

Hey, watch those bristles!

Now the fun begins, right?Well,

not unless you think it's fun to

photograph several thousand painted gels

over their proper backgrounds, one frame

of movie at a time.

sh**t, I gotta do my homework, but his

job. After the editors piece the film

together, she even gives us lots of

notes. Hey, look!

I'm a finished cartoon!Sound

effects. And music. Oh,

yeah. Oh, them is the most important

element of a cartoon. In the audience.

And that's how a cartoon is made.

Yeah, sort of.

Any questions?Yeah! How should Bob

letting me borrow that two hitches and

rip up a prize-winning student film?

The magic pen is for instructional use

only. That means you better get busy,

pal. It's almost showtime.

Now that's animation.

I'll say, now that's a joke, son.

Boo-hoo! I can't talk for the taste.

I'm like a cash. Loud

sound. All right, put us out there.

Distinguished friends, honored

colleagues, we love awesome stars.

And, uh, you too, Jeffy. Oh,

har-har. It gives two laughs. It's

finals week again, which means it's time

for the Student Animation Festival.

The kids are all working hard on their

films. And I'm sure your old guy of

volunteer is judging, huh

Ooh, I'm getting my winner TV out of

here. Oh, it's just a cool spot.

Anything but getting involved with your

films. I know, but the big boys at Time

Warner would entertain you if we don't.

They're despicable! Ohh

I quit! Stupid brush!

Animations of dumb

questions!

Whoa! Hold it, pal! It's me, Bossen!

What?HuhThat's right! Now give me the

sword, Toshiro!Sorry,

Buster. But this animation has subscribed

my brain. What's the problem?I'm

trying to tell a story in power,

passion, tragedy, and triumph.

Makes about my life, of course. Mmm.

Perfect subject for a cartoon. Anyway,

I'm having trouble telling the backstory

of my old years while keeping the

immediacy of the dramatic direction to a

narrative. HmmA lot of show what happened

when I was a kid. Oh, I get it. You want

to learn to do a flashback. Yeah, fla-

Flash what?A flashback?Flashback. It's a

simple film fit. Like a...

You know what? The camera moves real fast

and you suddenly somewhere else. Why

don't you go somewhere

else?No! This time, this is a fade-out.

And now a fade-in. See what you missed by

cutting class?Not bad!

So, tell me more about that slack-stack

thingy. We're getting close to sometime,

now I got to the slack thingy. It's easy.

All you have to do is remember something

that happened in the past. Right. We've

got to record the fascinating moments of

my childhood and splice them into my

movie. Hey, what's going on?

Everything's getting ripply. You get used

to it.

Next time, watch where you're flashing!

Sorry. Face, look over there! That's

me! That's the baby with my first inner

tube! Oh, I was a cute little quacker!

I feel like a great weapon and team.

I remember that, poor little fella.

The street isn't ready for such

heartbreaking pathos. I couldn't agree

with you more. Let's flush out of here.

My tail's getting wrinkled. Okay.

Oh great, they're flashing back into the

middle of World w*r II! Give me a break,

I'm doing this!

You shouldn't mess around with time too

much. Remember what happened to Back to

the Future?Yeah, straight movie.

Last time, once I flashed back to the

dawn of time and sh**ter for my stupid

ball, I'll win first prize for sure.

Sounds too risky for me. I'm flashing

home. Can't stand the competition, huh

You know, I don't think I ever taught

Plucky how to flash forward. Oh well,

he'll probably figure it out. Then again,

this is Plucky we're talking about.

I'm an angry monkey. I knew you'd get in

trouble. Like

how?I needed him. And just in time for

the animation festival.

And me without a film.

ohh Good

evening, ladies and gentlemen, and Monty.

And welcome to the University Animation

Festival. Tonight, we-- Get out the stage

rabbit!Have some great films, each one

made by one of our talented students.

Each student's still working on his. And

up to his balcony, judges are ready to

give the films their full attention.

So, without further ano... Oh! Get him!

Ow!on with the

show! Uh, I just recovered an

important thing out of town in Tibet. Sit

down!

Bogus, bogus! A film poem by Elmira.

Wait! It's my

movie! Yeesh! I hate horror flicks.

I loveThe little

furry ones, but when they run

away, I can't believe

they want to leave them till

they stay. This

is your revenge for all those

rabbit-beating signs I put up every year,

isn't it?Maidens, what's the

scary little item by Hampton JP?

No, no, no, please. Stop that.

Anything, please.

Phew, just a dream. Thank goodness.

Yay, bravo!

If they like that schlock, they'll love

my film. Next, the

performance piece by Dizzy Devil. Your

guess is as good as mine.

sh**t me!

sh**t me now! My

pill's up next! It's a hood! Oh, I'd pay

to have it done. It should be!

Oh, I'm so cold and hungry!

Achoo! Oh, hoo! All we're

getting for Christmas is pneumonia! h*,

h*, h*! Oh, hark! That

indeed. Merry

Christmas! Here's Lonty Claw! I wouldn't

forget my little bunny bells at

Christmas. Here!

Mayor Gazey, Mary and Bright!

Oh, that's sick! Oh! Get

it off! Now a ring in the new year!

What, whatThis'll be a low-cality

classic! Hey, put me down!

This is censorship! I'll sue!

Gogo, that was the dumbest thing I ever

saw. That was living, Babs. We were

hoping you'd do something wacky. Wacky?

Uh, but can't I have a serious moment now

and then? It's always stand on your head,

Coco! You're that weird thing

with your tongue, Coco!

Even I had to take a break from wackiness

occasionally.

It's the least fun. I can't take any

enemy, I've had enough. Yeah, when it

comes to cartoons, us old-timers only

have a six-minute attention span. Hang

on, fellas. There's only two more to go.

Now to introduce the next film, Shirley

the LoonUm, like, thanks, Buster. Okay,

first let me say that I had to, like, cut

my animated tone-tone Song of the Loon

to fit onto the program schedule. It's

really sad. No, I think it held up pretty

well at its shortened running time of 17

hours and 34 minutes.

like this year, we're keeping the judges

inside for a thing.

Extinction at last, and we play the

classic, The Plucky Duck Story.

Hey, Plucky, Shirley's film is running

long. You're gonna have to cut yours

down. Sorry.

It's over, huhIs it?

Is itHuhHuhNice work, Cheryl.

I can hardly wait for the sequel. We're

coming down to the end, folks.

For our last entry, a cartoon by Plucky

Duck. I hope I manage to save

the artistic integrity of myself.

It's magnificent! It's stuporous!

It's sharp! It wins! Fellow

Toomaticks, I give you the winner of the

Luniversity Animation Festival, Lucky

Duck! Lucky Splash!

What's my prize?What's my prize?Eh, you

get to take the course over again on a

count you skipped it to voice time.

How many geeks like this I can do without?
