05x08 - Bigfoot's Doorstep

Post by bunniefuu »

Previously on expedition big foot...

Our surveillance system registered a hit.

I believe these creatures are breeding

and possibly raising their young

right here in northern California.

- Check that out.
- -You got a print there.

Right there. Right there. Look at this.

You see that?

Bryce, Bryce.

My god.

Holy crap!

Something is giving
off the heat signature.

Look, look, look, look! It looks upright.

Holy.

The evidence that I've
picked up along the way...

That looked like something
walking down the hill.

Everything is piecing together.

Ok, so now that's weird.

Something put this here.

This is nesting territory,

and we are right
smack in the middle of it.

All this action is
converging into one place

at the center of our hot zone.

I'm getting a heat signature.

All of our hard work has
culminated to this very moment.

We started off this
search with 7,000 acres,

and we have honed it
down to one single mountain.

We are right at bigfoot's front step.

We're closer than
we've ever been before.

A powerful storm system

is passing over northern California.

The storm, fueled by
an atmospheric river,

could dump up to five
inches of rain in coastal areas.

And some snow in the mountain.

It looks like that storm is closing in.

- Yeah, it's big?
- Yeah.

Wind gusts can reach
speeds up to 60 mph

and up to 80 in areas of higher elevation.

Hey.

- Hey, guys.
- Hey, Bryce.

How's it going?

This is Kyle and Jordan.

- Hey.
- Good to meet you.

When I say we brought out
the big g*ns, I'm not kidding.

Nice.

That's amazing.

Now that we've established
that this mountain

is these creatures' territory,

we've brought in the most
incredible piece of tech

to help us pinpoint their exact location.

So we're able to run algorithms.

To do this, the team will be using

a surveillance array of
eight high powered optical

and thermal cameras
covering the mountainside,

all driven by artificial intelligence

that can recognize
upright, bipedal animals.

- Russ, you take one side.
- All right.

And mireya, you take another.

All right. Thanks, man.

I'll stay here with these guys

and we'll watch you as
you move through the area.

If anything moves on that hillside,

he's gonna be able to see it,

identify it, and direct
us directly in its path.

This thing should work flawlessly.

There they are, right there.

- Mireya for Bryce.
- Yep.

- I'm in position.
- We see you right there.

- Hey, Bryce.
- Yep.

- I'm in position.
- I got you, Russ.

Excellent.

Officials are urging residents

to be ready for possible evacuations

in flood prone regions
as the storm system poses

a significant threat to northern California.

We will continue to provide updates

as the situation develops.

We've been watching
this side of the mountain

on our surveillance
array for a few hours now,

and unfortunately we
haven't gotten any hits.

There's a bunch of possibly...

- What is that...
- Deer, maybe bear.

We've seen things on all fours,

but our software algorithm is set to look

for upright walking bipedal creatures,

which we haven't seen yet.

While Bryce is the eye in the sky

watching the eight cameras

of the surveillance
array, Russell and mireya

are searching different locations

and elevations on the mountain.

The team has a small window of time

before storm conditions worsen,

which could limit the array's capabilities

of detecting anything

with the optical or thermal cameras.

Mireya for Bryce.

Yeah. We see you on
the surveillance array.

You can see me now in position?

Yeah. Visibility is a little bit limited,

but we definitely see you.

Great. Well, let me know what
you're seeing up on that array.

We need to pay attention.

There's a lot of trees
falling through here.

And the sloughing off the soil.

This is some steep, treacherous stuff.

Let's just be watchful.

Right now, with this weather,

things are getting a little bit sketchy.

We've got all this rain
and snow coming down,

so the soil beneath
our feet is pretty tricky.

What's with all these branches here?

There's Russ right there.

Russ for Bryce, Russ for Bryce.

- I hear you, Russ.
- Go for Bryce.

- You should be able to see me.
- Can you hear me?

Yeah, we do see you
on the surveillance array.

Looking good, buddy.

Let me know if there's anything
I need to pay attention to.

- Copy that. Stay safe.
- Thank you, Bryce.

Hang on. Hang on. Hang
on up the hill a little bit.

What the is that?

We got a target here.

Came up from behind a tree.

That is not mireya, is it?

That is not mireya

what the.

Holy.

Hey, mireya, the eyes

acquired a target coming up to you.

It's really close, I'd say about 200 yards

to the south-west, and it looks big.

Are you seeing anything?

I'm not seeing anything.

I'm gonna keep going in
the south-west direction.

Keep your eyes on it and let
me know if it changes direction.

All right, let's keep moving.

I'm seeing a lot of

stuff in the soil, disturbances.

This whole area has
been pushed up a little bit.

As mireya heads
towards the heat signature

on the other side of the mountain,

Russell searches his target area.

A lot of stuff moving, right through here,

it's almost like a little
hidden sidewalk here.

Holy. I am getting
something coming up on Russ.

Are you seeing that?

Yeah, it's big.

- What the hell is that?
- It's fast.

Hey, Russ, we see a target

making its way towards
you, and it is moving, man.

Are we looking downhill,
uphill or in front of me?

In the direction of moving? Guide me.

It is to your east,

probably about 50 yards and moving in.

Got it.

Copy that.

Something's been
through here just recently.

Stop, stop, stop.

Are you... Can you smell that?

That's pretty strong.

Did you hear that?

Something broke branch
out here in front of us.

Russ for Bryce.

Russell. I got you loud and clear, man.

It just broke a stick out in front of me

less than 100 yards. How close am I?

If you stay that course,

you should be able to intercept.

Copy that.

Moving in.

It's just incredibly hard right now

with this terrain and this weather.

Further up from Russell,

mireya is descending the mountain

in pursuit of a large thermal image

spotted on the surveillance array,

heading in her direction.

It's like an obstacle course, isn't it?

Hey, Bryce, I'm trying to run down

towards where you
saw that heat signature.

Gotcha, mireya.

I got a target right here.

Yeah, we definitely got a target.

Holy.

Hey, mireya, we're
picking up two targets,

not just one.

Are you hearing or seeing anything?

I'm not seeing anything.

We're losing that other signature

between the trees and the fog,

but if you just keep moving,

you shouldn't be able to connect with it.

Roger. I am heading
towards them. Over and out.

Well, I'm trying to see
if anything that's moving

might be moving up in this direction.

The problem is, all the elements

are really working against us right now.

This is incredibly steep, it's slippery,

and we can't really hear as
things move through the forest

because of all the rain and the hail.

We're really starting
to lose them out here.

This is making it
impossible to see anything.

Yeah, coming in really bad.

The weather has been all over the place,

and now we're getting
these waves of fog

rolling through the mountains.

If it gets any thicker, this system

won't be able to detect anything.

Hey, mireya, we just lost that signal.

Bryce, I didn't see... but I'm not

you're not coming in.

It just gets hairier.

Mireya, do you copy?

Mireya, do you copy?

Bryce for Russ. Do you copy?

Bryce, even the thermals
can't see anything.

With so much snow and fog in the air,

the surveillance ray
can't pick up on anything.

And I don't think this storm

is going to break any time soon.

But I do know that the a.I.

Detected multiple upright walking targets

on that mountain with Russ and mireya.

So I can either sit here blind

or I can head towards them

in the hopes that my
comms will eventually work.

Either way, I'll be closer
to Russ and mireya

and can help join in on the search.

All right, you guys keep watching this.

Back on the south-West
Side of the mountain,

Russell continues to try and intercept

the heat signature that
Bryce spotted on the array.

Did you see this?

Look at that.

We have a footprint.

Holy crap.

We have a track.

This is fresh.

Let's keep going. I'll circle
back and cast this thing.

Let's get back. Back up.

Holy crap.

One.

Two.

Three impressions.

Look at that, but they're not very big.

I think we got a juvenile.

Russ for Bryce.

Russ for Bryce.

I'm unable to reach Bryce.

I don't like not having comms.

The weather's picking up.

It's coming down a lot faster.

The more moisture, the
more water gets in here,

the more deterioration I get.

Look at this.

There's pooling right in here, the water.

I need to get the
casting material in there,

like, right now.

I think we've got some
really good evidence here.

Normally, I wouldn't
cast in these conditions.

But I've never seen a print this size.

This could be a juvenile print.

If I can capture this
evidence, this could prove

that they're raising their young here.

After I cast these, I'll go
back and do the other one.

I've never seen anything like this.

I think this is the left and right footprint.

I think we've got two here,

a juvenile and an adult.

This is a huge find.

I can't believe this.

I don't know if there's enough

to get a full print on this,

but I wanna get these toes.

These are so much smaller.

How do we get eyes
on these things tonight?

Let's see if we find
some tracks right here.

The heat signature I'm
after is in this direction,

I'm trying to find any
signs of movement, tracks,

anything that could
have come through here.

It actually looks like something

has been moving through here.

Right in here.

Look at the way these are bent down.

It just looks like this has been

matted down in this direction.

I say we keep going that way

and keep following this.

Shh. Listen.

I heard something over there.

It is so quiet down here.

As temperatures continue to drop,

the rain has turned to snow,

while Bryce has now made his way

across the valley in search

of the heat signature he spotted earlier.

We are in the thick of it right now,

and I'm getting just a real

uneasy feeling being here,

and I feel that head to toe.

That's weird.

Infrasound is something that we've

explored with these creatures

that could be the cause

of these uneasy feelings.

Infrasound is sound

below the range of human hearing,

which is generally
accepted as below 20 hertz,

it can be generated
by natural phenomena

like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions,

as well as by animals

such as whales, tigers and elephants.

Some humans can be
adversely affected by it.

Bigfoot researchers suggest that

big foot can not only
communicate using infrasound,

but can use the sound waves

to disorient other animals.

I'm hearing stuff pop above me.

- Holy.
- Holy.

Hold on. What the is that?

Whoa!

I don't know, but from
here it looks like it was

put in the ground upside down.

This just is creeping me out big time.

I was just seeing if there's any tracks,

I mean, look at this fresh snow.

I just came in right through here.

And there's nothing else around.

Yeah, this is buried.

I mean, you can see this was

jammed in here with such force.

This is just branded in there.

This is buried upside down

in the ground.

And we really haven't seen that,

except for places like Alaska.

There it is.

My god.

That's weird.

That is weird.

This may be another boundary marker,

but honestly, it's a little different

from what we've seen in the past.

You know, the structures that we've been

discovering that we
feel have been marking

out boundaries have been more

apex structures with ornamentation.

What the hell is this thing doing here

in northern California?

It has me thinking and wondering.

Could this possibly be

the same group of big foot from Alaska?

I'm not seeing anything here.

After losing communication with the rest

of the team for over two hours

and as the snow continues to fall,

a half mile from Bryce,

mireya proceeds to
search in the direction

the heat signatures were
last known to be heading.

Crazy.

The weather

has changed so dramatically,

even just in the time that I've been

out here searching,

that now we've got a buildup of snow,

which, up to this point,

the weather has been really hurting

and challenging us,
like we're down comms.

Visibility isn't good,

but this might actually help us

in looking for tracks.

No way.

God, look at this.

There's two nests.

God, look at this.

There's two nests.

You look at this

and there's absolutely no confusing this

for anything else other than a nest.

Deer couldn't do this.
Bear couldn't do this.

If I'm honest, what it reminds me of

is very much like a nest
a gorilla would make.

The thing that strikes me

is that this was just constructed.

Look how fresh those pine needles are.

I mean, they're bright, bright green.

I don't want to touch anything

because I want to be able

to collect evidence from this.

But look at this, the way that all this

is sort of woven on the bottom

to create this geometrical shape

and then all of this bedding

right in the middle, I mean,

the nests that we found in
northern California in the past,

they didn't look recent.

Check this out. Look at all these breaks.

Look at this. Right here.

What the.

This is crazy.

And the thing about
primates, like gorillas,

when they make a nest,

it's to sleep in that night and
only that night, which means...

We're in something's territory.

And having two nests
this close to each other,

we could be looking at a family group.

But given the size of the nest,

we're looking at huge animals.

What I want to find is what made these.

My god!

Look at this.

There's another one.

And it's also big.

This is insane.

Wow.

If what we were picking up
on that thermal made this,

that means that we're really close,

and this is the closest we've ever been.

Look at this.

There's something that...

Took all the branches from here

to bring up there
where we found the nest.

Mireya for Bryce or Russell.

Bryce or Russell, come in.

Mireya for Bryce.

But let's keep going

and see if we see anything down there.

It's almost full-on daylight.

We have to make contact with the team.

We need to rendezvous.

With the first wave of
the storm having passed,

rising temperatures and
rain have melted the snow

and cleared the ground.

However, the next wave of the storm

is expected to make
landfall within six hours.

Meteorologists have predicted lightning

and up to four inches of rain,

which is enough to cause
flash floods and landslides.

Russ for mireya or Bryce.
Either one of you copy.

Hey, Russ, I read you.

What's going on?

I got an idea. We've
been running all night long.

This is a pretty hard push.

How about if we meet
up in about two hours?

If I give you some coordinates,

can you guys both meet me
at the bottom of this creek?

Absolutely, man, that's a good plan.

- I had the craziest night, man.
- You would not believe it.

Have you heard
anything from mireya yet?

Negative. I have not heard from mireya.

Hey, guys, I'm back on comms now,

and I heard everything you said.

I never reached whatever
that thermal target was,

but, man, do I have
something to show you.

You got it, mireya. Good
to have you back on comms.

I'm on the way.

Got to get those casts pulled

and meet the team in two hours.

Here we go.

Wow. Look at that.

I don't think I lost any
of the detail in here.

All right, let's head
over to the other location.

I'm kind of excited to see those others.

Wow.

Look at this. I have a left foot.

And right up here, I have the right foot.

We have a perfect set
of tracks, left and right.

This is like the lottery
of footprints right here.

My hunch is telling me

that we're looking at a juvenile.

Different size prints proves
more than one creature.

That means that we could
have identified a family group,

and we've zeroed in on
their breeding grounds.

I want nothing more than to
sit here and clean this thing out

detail by detail,

but I gotta meet up with the team.

I gotta show them these tracks.

That's some terrain?

- Man, that's crazy.
- And what a night.

- Yeah.
- -That weather was just so crazy.

Yeah, absolutely.

Check this out.

Let me show you what I got.

This is the first one I found.
Look how wide this thing is.

- My god.
- -Wow, that is wide.

Wow!

Look how flat and wide that thing is.

Look at the size of this thing.

Yeah.

I mean, this is really interesting.

You can see how there is what
looks to be the toes splaying.

And we wear shoes, so
you don't often see this

because our toes are always constricted.

I'm looking at these prints,

and I'm observing
interesting physiological traits,

like the way that the
toes are splayed out,

which is interesting
because that tells you

a lot about locomotion.

In environments just like this,

where I worked with natives
who never wear shoes,

you can see the toe splay.

In fact, you see a thickening of their sole.

The feet are a reflection
of the environment...

And this is something
that's walking upright.

Wow. This is a great find, Russ.

Thank you.

Wait till you see these other two.

Bryce, I got a left and a right.

- No way.
- Look.

My god, they're a set.

- Left and right.
- Wow!

Wow. Russell. That's outstanding.

What makes this unique

is having a side by side print like that,

you have the left foot and the right foot,

which is like the holy grail

of collecting these footprints.

Well done, man. That's incredible.

This is about two-thirds
the length of this one.

Judging by the size.

I feel like this is the biggest one, right?

That's huge.

In primates, there's a lot of
cases of sexual dimorphism

where the male is
bigger than the female.

Sexual dimorphism is
a term used in science

to describe size differences

between a male and
a female in a species.

We don't see this in all animals,

but we do see it a lot
in primates like gorillas

where the silver back male

is going to be significantly
larger than a female.

So we could be looking at a juvenile print

or we could be looking at a female print.

Gorillas, in particular, male gorillas,

are 30% larger than female gorillas.

Man.

I think this might have been a juvenile...

- Yeah.
- And an adult.

Told it to start up,
circle back and go down.

You know, it's so funny
that you mentioned juvenile

because last night,

you know, I was tracking
this third anomalous target

which led me into this zone,

and, Russ, I found an upside
down tree stuck into the ground.

It wasn't a tree, it was smaller,

but it was in there like
three and a half feet.

- Like Alaska upside down tree?
- Yes, much smaller

and just more ominous
because when I was in there,

I just felt like I was in the lion's den, man.

- Wow.
- I felt like I was being lured in there.

So, yeah, you may have a
male and female or male juvenile.

But obviously, there's multiple
creatures from these tracks.

You know you've got
two different individuals.

For sure.

The most important thing is

it could be that what we're
looking at here is a family group.

Russell, this is a really, really great find.

But you guys, I want to take
you to where I was last night.

You are not gonna believe what I found.

- Yeah?
- Yeah.

- I'm intrigued.
- What'd you get?

I don't want to tell
you. I want to show you.

Pack this up and let's go.

- I'll take you there.
- All right.

- Crap.
- Look at that.

My gosh!

Isn't this crazy? Look.

Three nests.

Wow!

It doesn't look like anything's
changed from last night,

so whatever made
these didn't come back.

Wow.

I'm just flummoxed. This is wild.

These are absolutely just gigantic.

These nests are intertwined together,

and they have green
fresh boughs on top of them

to make them comfortable,

like you would sleep at any hotel.

I was not expecting this.

Where's the third one?

Follow this way.

Hey, Russ, up here.

- Wow.
- My god!

That is huge.

It's like woven together.

This is what we ran into
right here in California

when we found two nests.

But now we're looking at three,

which would indicate

we're looking at three different creatures

on this mountain.

Tell me this wouldn't
be the Alpha position.

To me, this spells out like
some kind of family group

where you've got an Alpha watching
out for the other group members.

- And if we have a little one in a group...
- -Right.

It's usually going to nest with the mother.

That makes total sense.

This one particular site, there
actually was a cluster of nests.

Wow.

My kind of gut reaction to this situation

was that it was a birthing site.

The reason I think that
is there was one nest

that was in the crook of a bush

about two and a half feet off the ground.

When I saw it, the first
thing that came to mind was,

"my gosh, this is a bassinet."

When I look at the size of this thing,

I could fit two of me inside of this.

And just the way these
nests were situated together

leads me to believe that

this was more than
likely a family of big foot.

- Wow.
- Okay. Right here? Right at the edge?

Nine feet.

So for reference, I'm going to
label this one just Alpha nest...

- All right.
- And write down the measurements,

and we'll just go to all of them,

- get all that first...
- Yeah.

- And then we just start diving in.
- -Great.

- All right, let's measure this one.
- -Yep.

We're at nine feet on this one.

- Same.
- Wow.

- Same.
- Here.

Yep. I got it.

Right at eight feet.

These other two nests

are measuring to be about
the same size as the first one,

which means there are at
least three creatures here.

And if this is a family grouping

with the mother sharing the nest,

then we could be looking
at possibly four big foot.

Seven and a half feet.

- Yeah.
- Good.

Man, I'm almost seeing, like,
an impression in here, too.

Are you guys catching that?

If you really look at the composition of it,

you'd have to imagine that
something had to have been inside

in order to get this done
and matted down in this way.

Yeah, right.

Which is great for us

because we may be able
to find some DNA in there.

Yeah. Speaking of, what's the
best way to pull some of this DNA?

Let's split up because
there's three of them

and the weather is really coming in.

Yeah, it is.

First thing I want to do is use
the technology that we have

that will help to identify

our best chances of getting
a DNA signature here.

So if you guys want to
start working on the outside,

- by looking for any hair...
- Yeah.

Anything that looks
unusual that we can collect...

Yep.

- And then we can really dive in.
- -Great.

With the next band of the storm

expected to hit land in less than an hour,

mireya must gather any evidence now,

before it washes away,

using a hyper spectral camera

that's equipped with technology

that processes data

across the entire
electromagnetic spectrum,

allowing it to detect
traces of animal DNA.

It's detected something right here,

so I'm gonna go ahead and set that.

That way we can keep that data,

and I'm going to collect
exactly from that spot.

It's going to give us our best chances

of getting any kind of DNA signature.

I'm trying to collect as much
evidence as we can while we still have it,

because I don't know what's going
to be left when this next storm hits.

Good grief, mireya.

Now that I'm in here, look
at the size of this thing. Look.

You look like you're
in a six-person hot tub.

I mean, this thing could
accommodate several huge humans.

Agreed.

That's a lot of space.

We're gonna have to shut it down.

- Copy that.
- We'll finish up here and head back.

Negative.

We need everyone to pull
back position, Russ, now.

- Hey, Bryce.
- Yeah?

We gotta get out of here.

- I'm on my way.
- You done?

Yeah.

The thing that made me want
to start doing field research

was a magazine article

that I read about the most
endangered primates in the world.

And it wasn't the ones with the beautiful
photographs that captured my attention.

It was actually the line drawings.

Because here they were
on the verge of extinction,

and they had never
even been photographed.

That really captured my attention.

I knew then and there that that was what

I was going to dedicate
the rest of my life to.

And for now, more than two decades,

I have been in search

of rare and elusive primates
on the verge of extinction

that have not even
ever been documented.

After the storm came through,

it made all of the roads
and trails impassable.

But we're not giving up.

Nothing here on prints
or anything. Anything that

no, just some turned up ferns.

Nature still has so many
more surprises for us, I think.

I remember so many times

during my previous expeditions

where I was out searching
for a rare elusive animal

that I'd been told over
and over I'd never find.

There were so many moments

where I could have just given up

because it seemed like a failure,

walking ten hours a day for months
on end and not seeing something.

But then you have that
breakthrough moment,

and that can only come

from Patience and perseverance.

After weeks of searching

for the suspected family of big foot,

the team gathers to speak to
an expert of forensic podiatry

about the three detailed prints

they collected near the nest site.

Dr. Emily, thank you so much for
taking the time to speak with us today.

Thank you so much.

First of all, can you tell us
a little bit about your work?

So I am a functional podiatrist

and a human movement specialist,

and I have a big interest

in the evolution of bipedal-ism.

Well, I know we sent you tracks

that we found out in the field.

Can you break down your process

of how you analyze a foot track?

What I did is I set them
down all on the floor,

and then I looked at
them from a distance

to see what kind of jumped out at me

from the shape, from the size,

from the detailing of the prints.

And then I went in deeper

and started taking actual measurements

of the size of the foot,
the breadth of the foot.

This is based off of forensic podiatry,

which is a division of podiatry

that uses footprints that
would be found at a crime scene

to then try to determine

height, weight, et cetera,
even gait pattern, of a suspect.

I got to ask you, Dr. Em,

this is probably the first time

anybody has come to you

with what might be a
big foot foot to analyze.

Did you see anything

that, you know, jumped out at you

as being different or strange?

Yeah, absolutely.

Thank you for sending them to me.

And what I want to share with you

is first with the smaller pair.

Just because those
were so well-articulated,

even the web space

and in between the ball of the foot

and where the digits
start to make an imprint

was so well defined.

I thought that they
would look more primate

and they actually looked
more h*m* sapiens.

Well, that's interesting.

Now, not evolved h*m* sapiens.

What I'm looking, just
based off of the assessment,

would be human-like.

In looking at our ancestral lineage,

we see in primates that they have

what sort of looks like
they still have a finger,

whereas in humans, we have a big toe.

What is it that you're
seeing in those prints?

Yeah, so that is actually one of
the biggest distinctions of what I saw

is this well-defined big
toe joint, you could say.

But what really stands
out around the prints

that makes them less
human-like is the breadth.

So the width of the
metatarsal area, so here,

this is going to be wider
than in h*m* sapiens foot,

and then down to the calcaneus.

It's interesting to hear that Dr. Emily feels

that this cast is similar to a human foot,

but there are key differences.

Because if this print
didn't come from a human,

then these differences
might provide real insight

into how an animal would
interact in this environment.

Are you able to determine
the ability of these things

to be able to travel long distances?

Based off of it being a human-like foot

means that it would be upright,

which inherently gives the
ability to walk longer distances.

Okay.

They have a wider foot that allows for

maybe more stability on forest floors,

rocks and branches, and things like that.

Got it.

So what's your takeaway
from these tracks?

So when I did the measurements,

there are well-accepted calculations

to find averages between
foot length and height.

What they found is that
there's a 15% correlation.

So I measured from
the center of the heel

to the middle of the big toe

to determine the foot length.

Take that and then
use that 15% calculation

to determine potential
height from this print.

We're dying to know what you get.

So from the smaller print,

the height is around 6'9 " to 7'0".

- Wow!
- Wow.

On the smaller pair.

- Wow.
- That's crazy.

So what are the calculations

on the height for the big print?

So the large print, which
was 42 centimeters,

"is an estimate of 9'0".

Wow.

So what we're dealing with then

would be something that is nine-foot tall

and then another one
that's six to seven-foot tall

walking around the forest upright,

- barefoot.
- Barefoot.

Wow. I'm amazed.

Hearing a seven-foot tall
and nine-foot tall creature

walking around just a stone's throw
away from the nest that we found,

that's validation enough for me

that families of big foot exist,

and they are here.

When it comes to the smaller feet,

is it possible that this
could belong to a juvenile?

If we think of size as being an indicator,

then sure.

With the more
well-defined smaller prints,

the fact that they're very well defined

makes me think that there is

more of an effortlessness
in the movement.

When we are younger, we move
more fascially, there's a lightness.

Think of like a toddler
that will never get tired.

And that's something that could suggest

that it was a younger
animal that made that imprint.

Fascinating.

If Dr. Emily's assessment is correct,

then we now have tangible evidence

of a juvenile sasquatch.

I hope that my insight
was helpful to your work.

Very much so.

- Thank you.
- Absolutely.

Coming back to northern California,

we were hoping to prove that
this was a breeding ground.

We discovered a ton of evidence.

God, look at this.

There's two nests!

We've located a cluster of woven nests.

- Bryce.
- What is that?

Massive tree structures.

Wow.

More footprints... Left and right.

Multiple samples of DNA.

We found blood samples
and video evidence.

Look at this.

You see that?

Discovery is a process,

built one finding at a time.

It's a lot like putting together a puzzle.

You're finding isolated pieces.

Wow.

When you start putting them together,

you really start to get
that clear big picture.

With each expedition,
we've gotten closer,

unveiling a greater pattern.

And the more evidence
that we keep gathering,

just tells me that it's
only a matter of time...

Before we've solved this once and for all.
