We've been up there twice.

And I don't like it.

There's been lots of rumors
that nuns drowned babies there.

I have heard they have,
like, a security guard.

And they, like,
hog-tied some kids

and held 'em at gunpoint.

-So it's known in Logan...

as a place where
you don't wanna go.

ZAK: Built by the Hatch family
in 1910,

this land became their
sprawling vacation compound

before being donated to
the Catholic church in 1951,

where it then became
a place of solace for nuns,

known as St. Ann's Retreat.

Since 1987, the property has
fallen into disarray

and today is for sale.

But in that time, darks stories
and legends have emerged.

Our investigation begins
with an incident

that happened here
nearly 20 years ago,

where a group of teenagers
were abducted and terrorized

by three armed guards,
which makes us wonder

if something sinister

has affected
these tranquil grounds.

"No Trespassing."
This is It.

ZAK: As we arrive,

two of the victims from
the hostage incident in 1997

revealed to us they experienced
a series of paranormal events

which lead up to the most
disturbing night of their lives.

ZAK: How do you feel
bein' back here?

It's kind of crazy.

So we're entering the, uh,
compound, if you will,

for the very first time,
our very first steps.

And we are with two victims,
uh, of the --

that -- that horrific night
in 1997.

Why did you guys
come out here that night?

WYATT: For Halloween,
to see what was up here.

BREEANN:
A cheap haunted house.

We were
the first eight kids up.

This is when the guards came in
with the g*ns?

Yeah. A older gentleman
was running the show.

The other two guys, they were
just following his orders.

They shot at us when we were
standing around the pool.

We didn't know
what was going on.

So did you think that you
were going to die that night?

-Before they shot at us,

we saw a white dog
with red eyes.

When you see it,
bad things happen.

ZAK: This hellhound,
seen by Wyatt and many others,

lurking on these grounds,

always results in an immediate
horrific experience,

so much so that this beast
is a major reason

people refuse
to enter the property.

And Wyatt tells us
of another legend

which may have manifested
that night.

We thought we heard something,
like little cries.

And so we went to the pool
and started walkin' in it.

-You could hear...

-...a baby crying?
-Yes.

Before these guys
came out with g*ns.

of the legends at St. Ann's

is the story of a pregnant nun

who was banished
to the retreat grounds

and forced to give birth
in solitude.

Considering this child unholy,

the mother nun secretly
took the newborn

and drowned it
in the swimming pool.

As madness set in
from the loss of her child,

she was said to have
slit her throat,

leaving her unrested soul
forever tied to these grounds.

This pool is the pool where
the nun's baby was drowned?

Yeah. And when I saw the nun,

she was just kinda standing
right here, looking down.

Looking down into
the pool, sayin',

"What has happened
to my baby?"

Yeah.

And the only graffiti
when you get into this pool

is Jesus,

as to try to bless whatever evil
is in this pool.

In addition
to Wyatt and Breeann,

I interview another victim from
that horrific evening in 1997.

These guys are for real.

They're pointing g*ns at us
and they're sh**ting at us.

So they pull me out of the pool.
And I'm on my stomach.

And that old man comes up,

And he zip-ties my hands
behind my back,

zip-ties my ankles
to my wrists so I'm hog-tied.

And it's hurtin' real bad.

And my friend's like,
"Hey. Leave him alone."

So he runs over there
and puts his g*n

to his head...

pulls the trigger.

My heart stopped. I thought
he just k*lled my friend.

At that moment, that's when
he said, "Everyone on your feet.

We're takin' you
in the cabins."

"We're gonna show you
what it's like to be scared."

So we come in here
and sits us in a half-circle.

This older guy runs this rope,

which he said
was detonating cord,

around our necks.

And the two other guys
just sat there,

didn't do nothin',
just holdin' their g*ns.

So I sat there, on my knees,

lookin' at my friends,
wondering,

"Are we actually
gonna die here?"

The way he was threatening us,
he was gonna follow through.

There was, like,
his eyes, too.

Like, he could see --
-What was up with his eyes?

It was like there was a spirit
that was taking over his body,

like, making him do
these things.

His eyes were just evil.

It was like he was possessed
by a demon or something.

Yeah.

At this point,
I'd been tied up

with a shotgun to my back
for over 4 hours.

I asked him, I was like,
"What are you gonna do to us?"

He's like, "Well,
why'd you come up here?"

"To see if the legend's true,

if it's really evil up here
and ghosts and nuns."

What was his response
to that?

He said, "Every single person
that has died here,

I k*lled them and buried them
underneath this cabin."

Did you believe him
or do you think --

Absolutely. I believed him 100%
that I was gonna die.

100%. I did not think I was
gonna come out of this cabin.

ZAK: This torment continued
until dawn,

when the police finally arrived

to put an end to this nightmare.

And in the following months,
all three men were arrested

and ultimately pled guilty
for their actions.

And in the years following
this horrific event,

Tito returned to St. Ann's

as if something was calling him
back to this property.

We came up
just to the fence.

And I'm with some
fraternity brothers.

And they said, "Hey, someone's
running down the hill."

I never saw it,

but they said three figures
came down, and we took off.

And they were
just dark figures?
Mm-hmm.

to focus our investigation

on a possible cause,

manipulating these men.

steadily showing green

and partial yellow
temperature signatures,

indicating that
it's only slightly warmer

than the blue exterior

And the doorway is still
very cool considering the cabin

is exposed to the elements
and has no electricity.

The moment I say,

the interior of this abandoned
change house turns blood red,

telling us that something with
extreme heat has manifested.

And then it just
went back to green.

he's being tormented
by an oppressive force.

We now race back to
the main cabin to investigate.

My left hand is on the door
that leads to the grand lodge.

This lodge is where a majority
of the victims were taken.

A man that was in charge
of this operation

told one of the victims
that I interviewed

that he k*lled other people

and buried them
underneath these cabins.

And I don't know
if the police has

every heard that statement
from this victim,

but they know now.

The psychic said there's
pure evil inside of here.

for getting this creature

to see if this entity can
knock them down.

All right, so me and Aaron,
we've got Billy at the lodge,

Jay at cabin 3.

And I'm gonna do
some long-distance,

wide-angle,
full-spectrum still photographs.

It's pitch-black.
Without a little light,

you can't see 2 inches
in front of your face.

With this camera,
you'll be able

to see everything
like it's daytime.

So we're gonna see
if we can capture

any of the three entities
that have been seen here.

BILLY: Go on. Come on.

[ Exhales deeply ] I just got
really angry just now.

[ Exhales deeply ]

The fear has just left,
And I'm angry.

[ Growls ]

ZAK: Just as Billy starts
feeling anger,

we capture a disembodied,
snarl-type sound.

The fear has just left,
and I'm angry.

ZAK: At this moment, Billy
is overcome with an aggression

and begins to challenge
this dark entity affecting him.

BILLY: Where are you?

I feel it. I feel the power.
I feel your hate.

Do something!

[ Billy opens door ]

[ Creaks ]

No more sittin' in the corner.
Where are you?

Yeah, I feel your hate.
Right now, I feel it.

ZAK: As Billy begins to taunt

this evil spirit
that's affecting him,

a strange glowing ball
of light appears to manifest

while quickly moving
directly towards him.

Moments later,
this ball of light
appears again,

now directly in front
of Billy's face.

We believe this is a visual form
of the energy

that's affecting his mind.

[ Doors bang ]

[ Wood cracks ]

ZAK: Aaron and I are
totally unaware

that the dark entities
of St. Ann's Retreat

seem to be preying on the living
inside of these cabins

like they're Venus flytraps.

Jay and Billy will never forget
their experiences

from being sealed inside
of these buildings.

Meanwhile, as Aaron and I are
snapping away

with the full-spectrum camera,

we capture something that's
very profound and unexplainable.

AARON: You caught somethin'?

What?
-ZAK: Is that just me,

or does that look like
a lady in a dress?

That looks like an old-timey
photo of a spirit lady.

-This black figure here.
-It looks like she has a face.

-It does, too.
-Wow, dude.

-Are you kidding me?
-Wow.

ZAK: We can not debunk
this figure,

which, to us, almost looks like
the apparition of the nun

who is frequently seen here.

I take multiple photos
standing in the same spot,

and nothing appears
in any of the other photos

that could debunk this figure.

Also, if this were
a shadow being cast

from behind the camera,

the shadow figure would be
in front of this bush

that's all lit up,
not behind it.

St. Ann's Retreat harbors
a darkness

that eclipses these
seemingly tranquil grounds.

And our investigation proves

that something truly evil
resides here,

a force which may have been
fueled by the legends

and real-life events this place
has become infamous for.
