You can almost taste
the sportsmanship in the air today

at The Island's Semi-Regular
Beach Shape-Off!

If you're just tuning in,
crowd favorite Triangle,

is beginning his approach
in the Leapstravaganza!

Just look at the focus.

And Triangle's off!

Look at him go!

Majestic doesn't even begin to describe
what we're looking at here, folks.

And would you look at that.
A personal best.

Square is gonna have his work cut out
for him on his attempt.

Square, the defending champion,
looking unbothered by Triangle's jump.

Great start!

In all my years of narrating
the Leapstravaganza,

I've never seen such a strong approach.

It's gonna be a close one.

Square wins!

No!

No! I want a rematch!

I bet you do, Triangle. I bet you do.

I win.

-Hey, Circle.
-Ha ha!

Circle! Come join us!

Yeah, I need some real competition.

No thanks. It's not for me.

Not for you?

Not for her?

"Triangle and Square's Big Game."

It just doesn't make any sense, Square.
Not for her? Our game is awesome.

I'm so confused, I'm getting a tummy ache.

Why doesn't Circle want to play
our awesome game? Is it too awesome?

That's the only logical explanation
I can think of.

Although, on the other hand--

Oh, no.

What, what? What?

You're not gonna like this.

What?

What if our game isn't awesome?

What if our game is un-awesome?

Square! Get a hold of yourself.

Our game is not un-awesome.
It has everything.

Jumping, leaping, goggles.
What's not to love?

I know what happened.

Circle must not have gotten enough time

to soak in the game's greatness
before she left.

Now, I don't know if that's true.

Yeah, you're probably right.

So, what do we do?

Well, hello there, friend Square.

Hello, Triangle.

By the way,

are you ready to play
another round of our really great game?

You mean the super awesome
and fun game that we made up

that is definitely not boring?

You bet. Off I go!

Not their best showing,
but still pretty good.

Congratulations.

Wow, what a rush.

Circle. I did not see you there.
Come on. Give it a shot.

I can explain the rules real quick.

I know that sometimes
if something is too awesome,

it can be a little confusing.

I'm good.

Circle, would you say that
you think our game is un-awesome?

No.

It's just a bit… silly.

Silly?

Have fun, you two.

Can you believe her?

"Silly," she says.
What's silly about this?

Circle doesn't know
what she's talking about.

I think she knows exactly
what she's talking about.

She just doesn't like our game.

Yeah, so what are we supposed to do?

Just enjoy our game in peace

and not worry about
what other people think?

No! No. We just need to improve the game.

Exactly. If we really perfect this thing,

there's no way she'll be able
to resist playing with us.

Yeah. More poses after each jump.

A dance routine.

More seaweed on the trophy!

Now you're catching on. What else?

What else? More, more.

Look at this.

What do you think?

That's nice.

Okay.

Bye.

Okay, a few bugs to work out,
but I think the new poses were a hit.

-For our next try, I think we should--
-No.

-What? What do you mean "no"?
-Just "no."

Circle is the oldest
and smartest shape on the island,

and if she thinks that our game's silly,
maybe she's right.

And since we made the game up,
maybe we're silly.

So what do we do then? What--

What kind of game should we play?

Games are silly, Triangle.
We don't play games anymore.

Now, we just look at stuff.

If that's how it's gotta be,
that's how it's gotta be.

Bummer.

Wow. This is much better
than that lousy game we used to play.

Yes, yes. Far more serious.

Totally serious. Not silly at all.

Not one bit. Which makes it cool, right?

Very cool.

I can't just sit here

knowing that Circle's up there thinking
that we're playing that silly game!

We gotta go tell her we gave it up.

Yeah. She probably thinks
we're playing it right now.

No, no. Can you imagine?

We're gonna march up there, and--

and tell Circle
we won't play our game anymore.

And then she'll think we're cool again?

Only one way to find out.

Listen.

I think that's…

Circle?

Triangle! Square! Hey!

What do-- What are you--

What are you doing here?

We were just coming up to tell you
we quit our silly game.

Yeah. What-- Sorry-- What are you doing?

This-- Nothing.

I mean, well,
it's a little game I play sometimes.

Roll around until you get dizzy
and everything just looks…

weird.

Yeah. Do you two-- You wanna play?

No, no. It's-- No, it's fine.

We don't want to disturb this.

Cool. I see. So…

We're gonna go.

Yeah.

You sure? I mean, there's plenty of room
to roll around and…

No, no. We're good.

Yeah. It's just--

Not for us.

Exactly. Wait.

-What?
-It's not for us.

Yeah. It's not for us.

It's not for us. It's not for us.

Well, okay.

-You know, if you change your mind--
-It's not for us. It's not for us.

It's not for us.
It's not for us. It's not…

Well, it looked fun to me.

-Hey!
-Come on!

Tonight, Circle, Square and Triangle

are going to watch a very special
astronomical phenomenon.

You know, I don't think
I've ever actually seen a sh**ting star.

Me neither. And I'm great at seeing stuff.

I see stuff all the time.

It's actually called a meteor shower.

There hasn't been one visible
from the island for 237 years.

This is a very special night.

Circle? What makes a sh**ting star
fall out of the sky?

-Technically they aren't stars, but--
-I bet sh**ting stars are so fast!

-Yes, but--
-Like--

Yeah!

Yeah, I bet it's like,
"Out of my way! I'm--"

"The sh**ting Star."

-I mean, I can fall really fast, but--
-Okay. Awesome.

A sh**ting star!

Oh, my!

sh**ting stars look a whole lot like eggs.

This is an egg.

Knew it.

Now, where did that come from?

Let's get you home, little one.

Yep, you're a matching set.

You belong together.

Suddenly, Circle felt very lonely.

This is where you came from. This is home.

Circle! Triangle fell over again.

The tree root attacked me!

Take care of yourself, kid.

Triangle, how many times have I told you?

Kicking trees doesn't solve problems.

I wonder whose egg that was.

Maybe a very fancy chicken?

I think it was a flying turtle.

They were seagull eggs.

But I like your ideas too.

Look.

Wow!

Oh, my days!

Square and Triangle
had never seen anything like it.

This is magical.

It's fine, I guess.
I thought they'd be a lot closer.

Cool!

-Wow!
-That was amazing!

Circle did not have
a good feeling about this.

Look out!

Okay, that was way too close!

Are we even still alive?

Oh, my pancakes! Are we ghosts?

I can't wait to haunt you!

Triangle!
A ghost can't haunt another ghost.

A ghost can haunt anything it wants.

It can haunt a rock.
It can haunt a vegetable--

We are not ghosts.

-Aw, rats.
-Listen to me.

Most meteors never even come close
to hitting the surface.

They either burn up or zip off into space.

So, what happened this time?

Something that hasn't happened
in a very, very, very long time.

I wonder, did it vaporize on impact?
Or is it still there, deep in its crater?

It's like a nest.

And it's here, on my island.
Just over the horizon.

Circle, it kind of sounds like
you want to go find it.

Well, I--

Do you guys want to? You're not too tired?

I literally never get tired.

And I think a good hike
would settle my nerves.

I say, let's go
on a sh**ting star expedition.

Let's do it!

You know I love an expedition.

To reach the far side of the island,

our heroes needed
to traverse three terrains.

First, they would hike the Rocky Beach.

And then they'd follow
the Sparkling Stream.

And then climb Tall Peak.

What would they find on the other side?

What are you thinking about, Circle?

I'm wondering
what that meteor might be like.

I have some ideas.

I would love to hear your ideas.

Well, I don't know for sure.

But I think it might be very beautiful.

When we get there,

it's probably going to be hard
to see at first.

And it's a long way down,
but I don't mind.

You do love stairs.

Triangle!

Wow! Look at you.

Wanna hear what it sounds like?

Yes.

That was beautiful, Square.

Was it really?

I thought so.

Where do you think it came from, Square?
That big crystal?

You know what?
I didn't think that far back.

Who cares where it came from?

I wanna know
why it can't be a fiery inferno!

It's very fiery!

With organ!

More!

Give me more!

Well, your story was impressive.

And so cinematic.

And alarming.

I know.

Why did the fireball come here, Triangle?

-What?
-I just mean, why this island?

Was it maybe looking for something?

Fireballs don't make choices, Circle.

They just rage.

Hey, look.

Circle, what do you imagine
about the sh**ting star?

Okay. I'll tell you.

Picture a solitary space rock.

It speeds through the cold vacuum of
the cosmos, lonely and searching.

It goes everywhere.

It sees everything.

But the rock is always alone.
After all, outer space is mostly empty.

Just a big, wide void.

But then it sees something special.

A little green island on a tiny planet,

just bursting with trees,
and birds and fish.

The space rock slows
for the first time in eons.

It turns towards the planet.

-Why?
-Gravity.

Right. But, like, how does gravity work?

Ha! Tell him, Circle.

It's a pull. A longing.

The meteor saw the planet
and felt a tugging in its center.

The space rock decides.

Then what? You can't stop now!

We're almost there!

They had nearly reached Tall Peak.

It should be just over that ridge.

Oh, my goodness!

Wait, you're not gonna tell us
how your story ends?

Nope! We ready?

-We're ready.
-Ready.

Oh, dear.

Oh, Circle.

She had known, deep down,
it would be an empty crater.

But she had hoped for so much more.

Circle, are you okay?

Upsy-daisy, everybody.

Attention.

I hereby declare
our sh**ting star expedition a success.

It's just a big hole, right?
Or is she seeing something else?

No, Triangle. I am not.

We trekked to the other side of
the island and discovered a rare crater

left over from a meteor
vaporizing on impact.

I guess that is pretty special.

Needs a guitar solo.

Hey, Triangle.
I bet I can beat you to that pine tree.

No, you cannot!

Oh yes, I can! Yes, I can!
