01x06 - The Comet Cometh

Post by bunniefuu »

...which is why we are
gathered here on this day,

The one year anniversary
of the meteor's impact.

Adjusting to this
strange new world

Has been difficult
for all of us.

[Snoring]

[Groans, mumbles]

Fortunately,
we have had help

From 6 extraordinary
individuals

Yeah!

Who have watched over
and protected us.

And now to accept
this small token

Of our appreciation--

Thank you.
Thank you.

You know, there are so
many people in my life

Who have made
this incredible

Honor possible.
But enough about them.

As you know, there is
a lot of hard work--

This is for
the team's leader--

Ace bunny.

[Cheers and applause]

Thank you
very much, mayor.

Good thing
it's not everyday

That destruction
reigns down...upon us?

Great. A hailstorm and me
without my umbrella.

This isn't hail.

These are
rock pellets.

They're not even
from this planet.

It's a meteor
shower.

And I don't think
an umbrella's gonna help.

Zodavia: in the year 2772,

A meteor strikes the city
planet of acmetropolis,

Knocking it off its axis.

This cosmic event releases
supernatural forces

Unleashing a new kind
of hero--the loonatics.

Ace: hit it, loonatics.
We got people to save.

Ugh! Unh!

Ugh!

Ugh! Unh!

Mayor: oh! Oh! Aah!

I thought the weather called
for only partly rocky.

Unh!

Rev, fetch
my neutron cannon.

You didn't say if you wanted
the diffraction neutron cannon,

Or the beam-starter
neutron cannon,

Or the one that goes
"dah-dah-dah-dah."

That hurts.
Uhh! Uhh!

Ha ha! How's that
for mind over matter.

Slam, set your spin cycle
on suction!

Rev: all aboard.
Rev runner express

Coming through.
Ok, ladies and gents,

No need to pack your bags,
we're all traveling light.

- Aah! Aah!
- Have no fear.

Mayor, your life

Has just been officially
saved by danger duck.

Thanks!

[Crash]
uhh!

Kinda.

Ace: ok, tech, time to make
with the big words.

[Beep]

Tech: the meteor that hit
acmetropolis a year ago

Was only a trial run.

This one is 500 times
the size of the original.

Ace: kinda make you miss
the good old days, huh?

Oh, great!
When the next one hits,

Everyone will have
super powers. Ha!

I don't need that
kind of competition.

After this one hits,

There won't be
anyone, period.

You're absolutely
right, lexi.

Which is why you have
to journey into space

Before that meteor
hits acmetropolis.

Well, don't worry
your wealthy little head,

Boss lady.
We laugh at danger.

Ha ha ha ha ha!

Besides, what's so scary
about a little space voyage?

Well, there's cosmic rays,
air loss, engine failures,

Zero gravity, deadly aliens,
black holes, supernovas--

[Sighs] see?
Laughing already.

Zodavia out.

Uhh! Hyah!

Lexi: engaging
anti-gravity sensors.

Couldn't sleep, huh?

I usually count sheep,
but that's just me.

This is the biggest mission
we've ever been on.

Gotta be ready
for anything.

Oh, you always
land on your feet.

I've had a lot of practice.

No!

[Gasps]

Computerized voice:
destroy humanity. Destroy.

Woman: aah!

Sorry, bucket boy.

Not today.

Destroy humanity. Destroy.

Man: and...cut!

Oh! h* h*!
Van, babe!

Faboo!
Ha ha ha!

Take a break while we sh**t
the fight scene, hmm? Ha ha!

Where's that
stunt rabbit?!

Yeah, that would be
stunt bunny.

Whatever.

Now, like we rehearsed,
hmm?

Whoa! Slow down there, doc.

See, I got some ideas
you're gonna love.

Now, when the robot
comes at me,

How about I do
some of these, huh?

Hyah! Couple of those...
And one of these!

Hyah!

No.
[Chuckles]

[Record scratches]

You see,
I am the director,

Which makes me
the boss,

And that means
you do the scene

The way I tell you
to do the scene.

And...action!

Huh? Uhh!

Ow! Ow! Ow!

Stop it! No!

[Groaning and mumbling]

[Gasps]

It's showtime.

Lexi: any sign of more
meteor showers, duck?

Nope, but the fit
and handsome superhero

Stands calm,
yet focused,

Confident that should
danger arise,

He's ready to protect
the lives of his--

A simple "no"
would have done, duck.

Have you always
been like this?

Stoic in my resolve

To be the best
superhero ever?

Why, yes.

Seems just like
yesterday...

The bronzed
and handsome lifeguard

Sits calm,
yet focused,

Confident that
should danger arise,

He stands ready
to protect the lives--

Yo, duck!

Get out of my chair
and do your job.

Pool boy.
Oh, yeah.

And make sure
you use the net.

Whoa--whoa...

[Mocking]
"use the net!

Use the net!"

Talk about
a waste of talent.

Egh. Another treasure
from the deep.

[Baby cries]
mama!

Mine!

Ugh! Just put me
out of my misery!

Huh?

I was kidding!
I was kidding!

Aah!

Well, I got to hand it
to you, duck.

You've come a long way
since diaper duty.

You got that right,
toots.

You got to be fearless

When you step into
the spotlight like me.

I know what it's like
to be in the spotlight.

Girl: welcome, everyone,
to this year's tryouts

For the acmetropolis
university spirit squad.

As you know,
the competition

Is particularly
tough this year.

So super good luck
to you all.

First up, lexi, uh...bunny?

[Thinking]
don't mess up, lexi.

Don't mess up.

Anytime you're ready.

That was such a cute
routine, lexi.

But I'm afraid you don't
have what it takes.

[Girls groan]

[Rumbling]
what is that?!

[Screaming]

[Gasps]

I'm ready
for this mission...

And I know I'll be
as brave as you, duck.

Dare to dream, lexi.
Dare to dream.

Ace: so, tech, how you gonna
get us up to that big rock?

Presenting
the tech e. Coyote

Space dream 8000.

Kind of a little
retro, isn't it?

No. In fact,

It's just
the thing we need

To destroy
that meteor.

Oh. If only the fellows
back at the acme institute

Could see me now.

Man: tech, you're
keeping us from lunch.

Now, are you going
to demonstrate

Your senior thesis or not?

Yes, and you won't be
disappointed, sir.

Just one last
adjustment--

Oh, for crying out loud!

Step aside, son.

I'll turn it on
myself.

Be careful! I installed
a self-destruct mode

For extra credit!

My baby!

[Coughs]

I used to think
you were a mad genius.

Now I think you're
just...mad.

But it does work.

If only someone
could see that.

[Rumbling]

Uhh!

It'll work.

I know it.

Tech: perfect takeoff.

Ace: great job, tech.

Lexi: it may be retro,
but it's cool.

Duck: yeah, cool...
For a flying dinner plate.

Tech: it should be
a smooth ride from here.

Tech: brace yourselves.

Approaching light
meteor shower.

Duck: does this feel like
we have a slow ride?

[Engine sputters]

Uh, tech, why does
it sound like

The engines
just stopped?

Uh, well,
that would be

Because the engines
just stopped.

Ah.

Duck: I think I just
threw up in my bill.

Duck: we're doomed!

Completely
and utterly doomed!

Uhh!

Rev, log in to the lab.

Upload a copy of
the control system software

So we can reboot the system.

Done, done, and...

Wait a minute.
Wait a minute.

Wait a minute...done.

[Beeping]

Duck: aah!

Doomed!

Ok. It's smooth sailing
from here on out.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I hope this is
the good smooth

As opposed
to the bad smooth.

Tech: once we get through
the asteroid belt,

We should see our target.

If our target
doesn't see us first.

You don't have to worry
about that, ace,

Because tech has plotted
a course that allows us

To avoid contact
with any large objects.

And if anyone can do that,
it's my man tech.

And besides, the statistical
probability of an impact

Even here on the asteroid
belt is fairly minute--

Uhh!
Ahh!

You wanna recheck
those numbers?

All: uhh! Whoa!

Then, uh, recheck
as to why those rocks

Voila.

And it locks in
freshness.

Wait a sec.
Where's slam?

He's already outside,
slammin' away.

Uhh! Uhh! Uhh!

Fore!

Five!

Lexi: I haven't seen slam
have this much fun

Since his old days
in the wrestling ring.

Batter! Batter! Batter!
Swing, batter!

Ace: heads up, slam!

[Bell rings]

And now, this week's
ragin' fight night

Of the millennium!

Your favorite,
carlos the conqueror!

[Cheering]

Versus the terror
from somewhere,

Twisted spinner!

[Growls]

[French accent]
remember, fuzzball,

Make it look good
when you lose.

[Mumbles] win!

[Bell rings]

Just take the fall,
you furry fathead!

[Growls, mumbles]

Oh, excuse me.

Mr. Fathead!

[Growls, mumbles]

[Growls, yells]

Crush him! Crush him!

Slam: huh?
[Mumbles]

All right, slugger.

Yeah.

Way to save the day.

Let's get him
back in the ship.

Lexi: meteor straight ahead.

Yeah, and it's big!

Duck: are you sure
we can destroy that thing?

Yes. To insure destruction
before it reaches acmetropolis,

I've designed
this device

Which will amplify ace's laser
by a full factor of,

You guessed it, googol.

A goo wha?

A googol is a numeral
one followed by

Invented by

American mathematician
edward kasner,

Born 1878, died 1955.

And the reason
they call it a googol

Is because kasner
asked his nephew melvin,

Who was then

What name he would give
a really big number.

Ok! Yawn!
Really bored now. Stop.

Here goes nothin'!

Whoa!
Ace, you did it.

Whoa! Ace,
you didn't do it.

That blast only peeled off
a layer of atmospheric dust.

Impossible!

Maybe, tech, maybe.
But if we don't find

Some other way
to stop that thing,

Acmetropolis is gonna be

Nothing but a big pile
of atmospheric dust.

Lexi: guys, we've gotta
take out that meteor

Before it hits
acmetropolis.

No more acmetropolis?

No more gloomy
purple skies!

Oh, sadness!
Oh, woe!

[Weeps loudly]

So, what planet
do we move to next?

Uh, tech,

Something's screwy
out here...

Besides him.

First, the saucer
conked out.

Then those asteroids
came after us.

And now, that
hunk of rock

Turns out to be
laser-proof.

Time for plan "b".

Next time, let's start
with plan "b".

We land on the meteor,

Plant some charges
at precise stress points,

And then escape
before the big ka-boom.

Rev: ok. Everyone
put on your inter-c*ck

Spacesuits. Come on.

Okey-dokey,
rev, baby.

You're the fastest.

So, we're counting
on you

To plant
most of the charges.

You can count
on me, ace.

They don't call me
the speed demon

Of acmetropolis
for nothing.

But of course, I haven't
always been the fastest,

But that's
another story.

It happened a
long, long, long,

Long, long,
long, long,
long time ago.

We guarantee
a free lunch

If they don't get their
order in 30 minutes.

You got 5 minutes left
to get it there.

Otherwise, I take it
out of your pay.

Don't you worry,
cookie. I'm on it.

Rocket blades don't
fail me now.

Quick wrap sandwich shack.

We deliver in 30 minutes
or you eat--

For free.

My watch says one minute
past 12:00. You're late.

Your watch must be fast
because--

Better move faster
next time.

But...

But I won't get paid.

[Rumbling]
[gasps]

[Thinking]
I'm faster now,

And I can't fail.

You won't have
to dock my pay
this time, cookie.

Uh, who's cookie?

What? Who?
I mean ace.

Ace: everybody,
you know what to do.

Duck: it it too late
for plan "c"?

"X" marks the spot
to the big kaboom.

Now the brave
space ranger

Precisely positions
his charges.

If he's off
by even one micron,

The entire mission
will fail.

Yipes!

Ha ha! Whoa! Missed me!

I'm quacking out of here!

Ok. No air.
Bad idea.

Ha ha!
Now, where was i?

Oh, yeah.

Uhh! Ha!
Let go of my suit!

Ok. Let's get these
babies planted.

[Chuckles]

It's that cosmic
energy again!

[Grunts]

Don't move!
I'll save ya!
