Home On The Range
So this map is a picture of America right so when we introduce a song you
can make yourself small and run around to different parts of the country and show us where they are and what they're
like And I'll be teaching geography Hey wait till I tell my mom She's going to
be so proud of me Billy you are so cute I know
Alex stand by Run in three two Our next song takes us back in time to the 1800s
when settlers were exploring America Many of them wanted their own home on the range To find out more about the
range let's join Billy Bagel in our map center These states here
Nebraska North and South Dakota and Minnesota are some of the ones they call
the range It's really beautiful country great for farming And as the song says
deer in the antelope played here You'll see it all in Home on the
Range Wow an instant geography lesson from Billy Bigle Just what Mrs Wilson
wanted She'll love it Roll the clip Clips rolling
Give me a home Where the buffalo roam
and the deer and the antelope [Music]
play where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not
cloudy all day Home hung on the range where the deer
and the animal play where seldom is heard a
discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day
The air is so pure and the zippers so free and the breezes so balmy and light
that I would not exchange my home on the range for all of the city so bright
Home Home on the range where the deer and the
play where is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all
day How often at night when the heavens are bright with the light from the
glittering stars I stood there amazed and asked as
I gaze if their glory exceeds that of ours
Home on the range where the deer and the animal
play is heard a discouraging
word and the skies are not cloud
[Music] Intro to take me out to the ball game in three two and cute This next song is
Baseball Song
about a very American sport In fact America is one of the few places in the
whole world where baseball is played That's right The only other countries with baseball teams are Canada and Japan
Japan is all the way over here across the ocean And Canada is right here next
to America Hey if these are the only countries who play baseball why do they
call it the World Series good question Billy We'll get back to you on that one
But first here's take me out to the ball game [Music]
Take me out to the game Take me out with
the crowd Buy me some peanuts and cr*cker
jacks I don't care if I ever get back Let me root root root for the home
If they don't win it's a shame 1 2 three strikes are out at
the KHB It's up to you to get out there and save the team Remember you can do wonderful
things with your life if you really believe in your dreams Go get them kid All right
All I need is just one chair I could hit a home
run There isn't anyone else like me Maybe I'll go down and hit the story and
it's root for the home team Here comes
for you and me Cuz I know that I

Okay Billy There are a lot of cities in this next song like this one Chattanooga
is a city What a funny sounding name You should hear some names of Russian cities
They're really hard to pronounce like
and in three two and rock and roll is
definitely American music And this next song was written by one of America's most famous rockers the legendary Chuck
Berry When the Kids Songs kids decided to be rock and rollers for a day they picked this Chuck Berry tune It's called

Mr Policeman
USA Okay I found all the cities that the kids sang about in that song Here's New
York in the east And here's Los Angeles way over here in the west Then they sang
about Detroit which is over here in Michigan And Chicago is down on the Great Lakes And Chattanooga Oops I
forgot Where is Chattanooga i'm getting tired
Let's give Billy a break He's trying so hard at his geography lesson We can go to Mr Policeman next Good idea and cute
Our next song is called Mr Policeman even though it's about policemen and women I think police officer is the
right term I thought it was peace officers I'm confused Let's ask police person Maria Tones when she comes up
She'll know But first the kids salute LA's finest the men and women in blue
Mr Policeman making everything all
right Always around to protect and sir watching out for us day and
night Oh Mr Policeman always has a job to
do From all of us kids to all of you guys thank you for being

Interview
for the interview great Cue the host and roll the question from graphics Rolling
in four three two and take it
And now our own Janet Bates is going to interview Officer Maria Tomes The Los Angeles Police Department was kind
enough to let her come on the show so let's meet her now Janet thank you Christian Thank you Alexandra Good
morning Officer Tones Hi Janet You can call me Maria Why thank you Tell us how
old were you when you first decided to become a police officer i was about 13 years old and police work always seemed
so exciting and interesting to me I used to love to see those black and white cars with the lights blinking and the
sirens going I was always real curious as to where they were going and what was happening and what were they doing Do
you like it yes I love my job I enjoy it Is it scary i don't think of it as being
scary We've all been trained to react and do something and then after we've
taken control of what's happening then it becomes scary Is it ever fun it's a
lot of fun all the time If you see someone strange in your neighborhood what should you do when you see somebody
in your neighborhood that you know doesn't belong there and they're driving around slowly or they're walking around
and checking people's door knobs more than likely they're up to no good and
you should call the police Go inside tell your mom and your dad or your babysitter You should call the police Do
you have any more advice for the kids in our audience you should always look and
listen to danger You should always pay close attention before you cross the street Look all four ways Always pay
attention to your crossuard You should always follow the cross guard's directions
And lastly whenever you get into a car you should always get into the habit of putting your seat belt on Seat belts are
very important And even if you're just going for a very short distance wear your seat belt Well thank you Maria
Thank you for joining us And thank you for giving us so much information Thank you Janet What's next billy's singing
Sing Along With Billy
along What is he singing when the Saints Go Marching In and Cuban Now it's time for Sing Along with Billy which happens
to be my favorite part of the show Thank you It's my favorite part too And what
are you singing today that oldtime spiritual when the saints go marching in
Great song But did you know that it first became popular in New Orleans or as they say down there New
Orleans which is right over here new Orleans is the most exciting city in
Louisiana It's famous for its Dixie Land jazz band They love playing this song
and I love singing it
Oh when the saints go maring in Oh I want to be in that
number When the saints go maring in Oh
when the band begins to play Oh when the
bears Oh I want to be in that number When the band begins to play
Woohoo Oh when the kids begin to dance
Oh when the kids begin to dance Oh I want to be in that number
When the kids begin to dance [Music] 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Oh when the saints go

boy I am that doodle boy
Spaghetti Song
Spaghetti's next You've got it And Cuban in three two Spaghetti is one of my
favorite foods Mine too Is it American no it's Middle Not really It's actually
from China Spaghetti i think you're thinking of noodles No
China The famous Italian explorer Marco Polo discovered it here and liked it so
much he brought a lot of it back to Italy over here where it became very
popular And we'll save the story of how it got to America for another day As we
were saying this next song is about spaghetti and the adventures of a runaway meatball to be exact Here's on
top of spaghetti [Applause] on top of spaghett all covered with
cheese I lost my meatball when somebody's
knees It rolled off the table and onto the
floor and then my poor meatball rolled on some more
He kept right on rolling on down by the lake And then my poor meatball passed a
cute little snake It kept right on going and went
under the gate I must catch my poor meatball before it's too late
It's changes direction and it's heading back I think that my
meatball is on the right track If it stays on this trail and
keeps going straight then my ball will get back to
my plate Semi for me We'll get back to my place
