how we've invited Howard Barnett the

puppeteer to come on our show and he's

going to give us a demonstration on how

to make simple hand puppets out of socks

and things and Janet will do it with him

and the kids at home can too i like the

interactive element of this show good

and girls would you like to make a

puppet i'd love to good would you kids

at home like to make a puppet well good

i think everybody knows where to get a

paper bag either at home or at the store

now the first thing our paper bag puppet

would need is a mouth a mouth i have a

scissors here and some construction

paper and I'm going to cut a mouth very

easy and now all we need is a little bit

of glue and you could use any kind of

glue don't put too much on cuz we don't

want it to be too drippy and as we can

see

already we've got the beginning of a

good puppet hi how you

doing but we need a few more things eyes

eyes good would you like to draw the

eyes i'd love to okay we'll draw Okay a

couple of nice small little eyes what's

What's on top of eyes eyebrows eyebrows

good and how about if I make the eyes

that you made the eyeballs

and make two big droopy eyes and I

pre-made a

nose everybody has a nose right this is

kind of a goofy nose puppet nose big

giant goofy nose and now we turn it

around the

back we're going to add hair and

arms janet's cutting the hair and I'm

going to put the arms on

see we're we're putting things on the

back i know it's a little confusing

you're thinking why would you put why

would you glue things on the back well

let me show you because when we turn it

around we have a puppet

and would you like to work this puppet

uh-huh okay and I have another puppet

here now this is so simple everybody has

a sock at home right here I've put two

little eyes i got at a craft store and

we'll call him How about Sako saco and

Droopy since he has droopy eyes okay hi

Droopy hi Sako and you know to make a

stage kids it's so simple you could just

go behind a table or a chair put the

glue to the side we could do a little

show you want to do a show okay okay

well hello there Droopy want to go out
