Yeah!
[male narrator] Hi there, Sports fans, and welcome
to the all star "Laff-A-Lympics."
This week we're visiting the dark continent of Africa
with many secrets and surprises.
[instrumental music]
[male narrator] Just like that one.
Then spinning the globe, it's on to San Francisco
where many hearts are left.
And after today's events, many will be broken.
Now, back to the African interior
and our announcing superior Snagglepuss and Mildew Wolf.
The first event of the day, the jungle boat race.
Against the clock. Up water fall's no less.
With 25 points for the best time.
Fifteen for the next best and ten for the slowest.
♪ Row row row your boat ♪♪
There's Quick Draw McGraw who represent the Yogi team.
All set for the big race, Quick Draw?
Darn tootin', Snag.
I'm here to win, not horse around.
[chuckling] Get it?
Mildew here, keeping time with a dog boat built for two.
This is the team that will be racing for the Scooby Doobies.
Scooby Dum and Scooby Doo.
- Dum-dum-dum-dum. - Scooby Doo!

Now, this race is going to the dogs.
It seems the Rottens haven't shown up.
Unless they appear out of thin air, or fat air even
we'll have to scratch 'em from the race.

You called, pussycat?
Dribbling fricassee. It's The Great Fondoo.
Make that not so great. He doesn't have a boat.
I know, I forgot my yacht.
[snickers]
Yabba-didi daba-du.
A boat for me. But not for you.
That's a nice boat.
But what are you gonna do for a motor, Fondue?
'Pull it out of your hat, I suppose?'
As you wish, p*ssy cat.
Now, a little action, please.
- Brack! - 'A one. A two. A..'
Brack!
[Snagglepuss] 'With The Great Fondoo, a magic rabbit afloat'
'all the boats are ready for the race.'
'Let's go to Mildew at the starting line.'
'For the jungle boat of the falls event'
I'll be following the boats here on the river.
And they're off! The Jungle boat race is on.
And a close race it's gonna be, fans.
'With Quick Draw McGraw setting a rapid pace'
'for the Yogi Yahooeys.'
Yahooeeys!
[Mildew] 'And Scooby Doo and Scooby Dum giving us an exhibition'
'of precision rowing.'
'And the great Fondoo and what's his name for the Rottens.'
Brack!
[Mildew] Here, straining a sinew, Quick Draw manages
to hold the lead and now he's approaching a small waterfall.
Did you say, small?
Is that all for a tricklin'?
No way, I'm speeding up my paddles and making a run for it.
[Mildew] 'Amazing feet, in more than one sense of the word.'
Quick Draw has incredibly run the falls.
Nothing to it when you got the horse power.
Phew! Too much.
Now, back to our All Start "Laff-A-Lympics" announcer.
[male narrator] Now, paddling towards the falls it's Scooby Doo and Scooby Dum.
What can their strategy possibly be?
- Ready, Dum? - Ready, Scooby.
♪ Dum dum dum dum ♪♪
Scooby dooby doo!
[male narrator] Uh-oh, well, folks, it looks like this dog team
has outsmarted itself.
We'll come back when they regroup.
Now, it's over to the Rottens.
Moving a speed that could be described as ear spin.
They're now nearing the falls.
Which will take a really true magician to climb.
And some really chicken Rottens to back away.
Now, near the finish line.
And as far as the Yogis are concerned
it looks like this race is cut and dried.
Oh, boy, cut is right.

[snickers]
Down the stream?
Wait just a dog-gone minute.
There's something sneaky rotten going on.
'And I aim to get to the bottom of it.'
Or my name ain't Quick Draw McGraw..

[male narrator] Well, that's it for Quick Draw and the Yogis, folks.
There's no place to go but back to the starting line.
Yup, from here on in you could call this
a horse back race. Get it? Yup. yup.
Heavens to hugmugey, Mildew. This is gonna be a close start.
It certainly is the first. Or in this case, is it a last?
[male narrator] I don't know how to call this one, folks.
The only way is like it is.
Finishing first at the start, Scooby Doo and Scooby Dum.
Followed by the Really Rottens in second
and the Yogi Yahooeys bringing up the rear.
Now, that's what I call a tough race to call. Dial even.
But hold everything.
I got a buzzing in my headset. What could that be?
'The judges have made an official ruling and here it is'
'with the Scoobies who rowed and rowed pathetically'
'zero points for not crossing the finish line'
'on top of the falls.'
'For the Rottens not only the same big goose egg'
'for not finishing but a ten point penalty'
'for cutting up oars.'
[booing]
And finally, Quick Draw who raced such a gallant race
for the Yogi Yahooeys.
Oh, shucks.
[Snagglepuss] 'Zero, for not crossing the finish line.'
Hold on. I was close, wasn't I?
Close only counts in horse shoes. Get it?
Hmm.
[laughing]
[male narrator] Here's the score after event one.
The Yogi Yahooeys and the Scooby Doobies, zero.
And the Really Rottens, minus ten.
And now for our second and final event here in Africa
we'll use the treetops for the jungle wine swinging contest.
With a big 25 free points awarded
for the most style and grace.
We're here, high in the tree tops even.
With the Yogi Yahooey's team entry, Yogi himself.
'A better than average swinging bear.'

So Yogi, old boy, would I be going out on a limb
by saying you're not afraid of heights?
Not at all, Snag. How high are we?
[Snagglepuss] 'Try 20 stories. And I don't mean short ones.'
- Did you say 20 stories? - I did.
That's what I was afraid of. Help!
I guess it's a phobia.
You'll just have to bear with it. Get it?
[male narrator] And we'll all have to bear Dread Baron for the Rottens.
I'm here with Captain Caveman, representing the Scooby Doobies.
Aren't I?
[babbling]
Tell us, Captain, are you flying alone today?
[babbling]
Oh, I see.
Actually, fans, Captain Caveman is flying today
with the lovely Teen Angels.
And it looks to me like this contest is about ready to start.
I better do a little flying myself.
And join Mildew to cover this event.

- Where's the captain going? - Get set.
He's off to start the wine swinging contest.

- Wee! - 'Mm.'
[Snagglepuss] 'There goes Taffy Dare'
'into a fabulous triple flip'
'with an incredible catch by Dee Dee.'
And now keep your eye on this next one.
'It's Brenda again with the Scoobies'
'making an amazing aerial switch with Taffy.'
'And, of course, Captain Caveman'
'captured Brenda without a hitch.'

Well, what about those beauties, eh, Dread Baron?
Quite captivating, old boy.
But wait till they've seen this.
Hup, hup!
The Baron is flying with the greatest of ease.
But unfortunately, he forgot his flying trapeze.
[Baron yelping]

[Snagglepuss] 'It looks like the Rottens are in for a dreadful time.'
- Brack! - Ah-ha! Here's Yogi.
Come fly through the air with Yogi Bear!
[male narrator] A stupendous quadruple spin
into a fierce flying toe catch foothold
followed by a difficult one handed change over.
This is enough to take your breath away.
And now, a flabbergasting flyaway.
Going up and away!
[all cheering]
[male narrator] And now, down, down, down.
And finally the water catch.
A winky splash of a finish.
Great going, Yogi.
[male narrator] Now, for the three Teen Angels.
And their death-defying flyaways.
It's going to be a very catchy finish.

[male narrator] That's very catchy indeed!

[babbling]
[male narrator] Next, the Dread Baron in feats of daring.
The Baron's putting on a superb show of grace and control.
- Ta-da ta-da ta-da! - Wow!
[male narrator] Uh-oh, he's lost it again.
- What's that? - The vine, Dread, remember?
[screaming]
[male narrator] Mumbly's off to dropping the line.
There's only one thing to do. Take this event by the teeth.
What a windup this is going to be.
[snickers]
[male narrator] A twirling tornado of a finish. By the Dread Baron.
[cheering]
As per the official scoring
'in first place after a whirling finish'
'are The Really Rottens who get 25 points'
'with a minus ten, makes their score to 15.'
'Fifteen points go to the Yogi Yahooeys'
'for second-place showing.'
'A very close and pretty Teen Angel performance'
'gives ten points to the Scoobies for third.'
Making it a tie for first place with third place not far behind.
When we return, it's out to San Francisco.
And the second half of today's "Laff-A-Lympics."

[drumroll]
[male narrator] Welcome to San Francisco
fans, for the second half
of this week's "Laff-A-Lympics."
Our first second-half event will be a special roller race
through Golden Gate Park.
Then to a salty, tipsy fishing contest
for those really big ones and a race against the clock.
The contestants for this event are
'in lane one, been racing for the Yogi Yahooeys'
'Pixie and Dixie and their faithful starter, Mr. Jinx.'
Ah, yeah, these mice are gonna get the grease.
[Snagglepuss] 'Next, Babu for the Scoobies.'
Yes. Yapple-dapple.
[Snagglepuss] 'An eight point thread'
Orful Octopus for the Really Rottens.
Now, before the starting flag drops
we'll try to bring you a bit of racing color.
Maybe some pigment even.
Now tell me, Oh great Babu, are you gonna win for the Scoobies?
Yapple-dapple.
What? Oh, there's the starter with the flag.
'He's all set. There it goes.'

Could you believe in a cloud of dust?
[coughing]
Babu better get his carpet cleaned.
- Ah, so long, fellas. - Lots of luck.
[male narrator] There goes Orful, really legging it for the Rottens.
Pixie and Dixie seem to have plenty of momentum.
Is it that momentum that smarts so much, Dix?
I think so, Pixie.
[male narrator] And Babu is right behind the mice
and obviously taking his ease.
As the racers approach the toll gate
we notice Orful has disappeared from sight.
Look at that mess of machinery.
I don't know how anyone will get through it.
What now?
Can a mouse run up a clock?
Sure, Pixie.
- See that steep hill, there? - Uh-huh.
Well, if you can run up a clock, you can run up a hill, get it?
I got ya. Let's go!
[male narrator] The racing officials have not corrected the traffic jam.
But the Persian Pasha, Babu, undaunted, rises above it.
Yapple-dapple!
[male narrator] There's Creepley, but there's no sign of Orful.
Maybe you need a bigger board.
[laughing]
[male narrator] Oops, when there is one Rotten, there's bound to be another.
We Rottens of a feather stick together.
[male narrator] I should've known they'd have a sneaky way to cheat.
- It looks awful steep, Dixie. - Steeper than that, Pixie.
Well, keep a sharp look out. We don't wanna miss it.
- Miss what, Pixie? - San Francisco.
- We'll be going pretty fast. - Okay, Pixie.
[both] Wee!
[male narrator] Here come Pixie and Dixie. Boy, are those mice moving.
[snickers]
It's a detour, Dixie. Hang on!
Hey, look. Dead end.
No, it's a elevator.
[male narrator] While Pixie and Dixie are getting a tremendous lift
Orful's churning along.
But how long can he keep up that blistering pace?
Oh, about as long as it takes me to run out of gas.
[male narrator] Here's Babu on the outskirts of Golden Gate Park.
But his blazing speed is wearing his skate wheels down.
Yapple-dapple.
[male narrator] I guess Babu is going to
try and win hands down.
[cheering]
[male narrator] Wow, Pixie and Dixie are having
a spectacular sky-ride on skates.
- Wow! - Pixie!
[male narrator] And it's a spectacular tight wire-finish
into Golden Gate Park.
Let's go!
Okay, it looks like we have a winner.
It's Orful by eight feet.
And Pixie and Dixie squeak home.
Ah, hello, Babu.
That gives the Rottens 25 points for first
That gives the Rottens two big wins in a row.
Who says it doesn't pay to be sneaky?
Would you believe I do, Creepley?
'Points have been deducted from the Rottens.'
A minus ten for side car smuggling.
And another minus ten for dirty detour.
And minus ten more for roller skate towing.
So you Rottens end up going five points more in the whole.
[booing]
Brack!
Save that, you savages.
[male narrator] So after three events
the Yogis are in the lead with 30 points.
The Scooby Doobies are in second
and the Really Rottens in third with ten points.
That winds up the roller skating race
here at the finish line in Golden Gate Park.
So now, it's back across the rolling hills
and cable cars of San Francisco.
To the word famous Fishermen's Wharf
for our final event of the day.
Oh, Hi. Mildew Wolf here.
And Snagglepuss, to bring you
the West Bend finish event for the day.
It's the big souffle. The final fini.
An event that tests the contestants' mettle.
What he's trying to say is that the next event
is a fishing contest.
Whoever catches the biggest fish would be the winner.
[male announcer] Hold it fellows. Don't forget.
This event is for a bonus of 50 points.
Right now, I better introduce our fishermen.
Ready to cast for the Yogis are Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy.
Ready, son of mine?
Ready, oh, great father of the year.
Then let's go cast away.
[male narrator] Fishing for the Scoobies are Shaggy, Tinker and Speed Buggy.
Hey, you got all the bait?
Sure, I caught it this morning.
[Speed Buggy] 'Then we're all set.'
[male narrator] And the Rottens are really going all out in this event.
They've entered Daisy Mayhem and Sooey.
I'm gonna go find me a crawdad hole.
[male narrator] But there aren't any crawdads in the ocean.
Well, they'll be there when they hear I'm coming.
[male narrator] Augie and Doggie Daddy
have taken to the deep blue sea.

What happened, dear old dad?
He got away, and I'm glad.
If you go a little faster, son, I'll show you how it's done.
[cackles]

What did I tell you, son? I've got a bite!
Go get 'em, dad!
This oughta be fast enough for him.
Hold on, son. It's a big one!
Now, for a little razzle-dazzle, in reverse.
[laughing]

How do you like that, son? He's trying to back out on us.
What kind of crazy fish is this?
If you ask me, I think it's a round one, dear old daddy.
If you don't mind, I'll do the jokes, son.
[cackles] That ought to do it.
He got off!
But that's one fish I'm glad got away.
And a tin one at that. Look.
How do you like that? A fishy forgery.
That chewed up some of their fishing time.
[laughing]
Now, during the short break in the action
we'll have a word from a special guest star Jabber Jaw.
What do you think about our All-Star Laff-A-Lympics, Jabber?
All I can say is, Woo woo woo woo woo!
Weird, odd even.
[male narrator] The Scoobies have poked into
something bigger than big.
And Speedy is really wheeling it in.
[Shaggy] 'Take it away, Speedy!'
Now this could be a record catch.
Sufferin' catfish.
There's something rotten in this tin pile.
'Or is it pile of tin?'
[male narrator] Well, it's quite obvious
there will have to be a ruling
on catching a tin fish.
But, in the meantime..
Yoo-hoo, cutie-fins? Where are you?
Yes? Who? Me?
Yeah, you, little fishy baby. Come on over.
Ohh.
We got a little somethin' for you, sweetie teeth.
'Now, Philly!'

Woah! Hey, wha..

We caught him! Yahoo!
See here, now, I hate to see you two be disappointed.
But Jabber Jaw is havin' your net for lunch.
[male narrator] Checking now with our other fishermen
we find the Yogis hard at work to gain the lead.
I think I got one, dear old daddy.
- You got him hooked good? - No, my hook came loose.
Well, don't fret, son. I'm sure you gave it a whale of a try.
[chuckles] Now don't row too fast.
I'm trying to catch 40 winks.
Fishing makes me nappy.
[male narrator] Sorry, folks, but the time has run out on our last big event
here in San Francisco.
Snagglepuss and Mildew will have the results for you.
Here's how the judges saw it.
Ah, can you make that out, Snag?
Yeah, The Rottens, zero points for coming up empty.
The Scoobies can't count tin fish
'especially rotten ones.'
And, wow!
Doggie Daddy and Augie Doggie
get the big 50 point bonus for the one that got away.
And we can sure prove it.
[Augie] 'He took the bait, and the boat too.'
Now, there you have the official evaluation
and optimum analyses of the judges.
[male announcer] In third place with a Rotten showing a total ten points
for the Really Rottens.
Placed in second are the Scooby Doobies.
And taking home all the goodies with 80 points
today's big winners, The Yogi Yahooeys.
