[Music]

oh come with me to the rolling sea while

the weather's calm and still

and we'll have some fun and laughter

with the adventures of portland

one lovely sunny seaside day

we were getting ready for a visit from

the lighthouse inspector

oh

what a lovely day for an inspection

yes nothing but the cry of the ghouls

and the laughing of the waves it's so

peaceful

[Music]

that was a close one i thought he was

going to give us a tune

we don't want to frighten the fish do we

[Music]

no it's not

it's a penguin

passing by on his way home to the ice

floes oh the penguin oh great i can

write about it in my bird watchers

notebook

i wonder if it'll come any nearer

blistering barnacles i hope not

just let it swim by and whatever you do

don't feed it

i'm off to the mainland to fetch the

inspector forget about that penguin and

get everything ready for inspection come

on tiger oh hey i said i said hi sir bye

bill

well the lads soon had the lighthouse

looking spit and spun

and decided to have their relevances

outside so they could watch the penguin

he's a cheeky chappie i wonder if he'd

like a taste of my biscuit uh no no ross

i must have feed it remember what bill

said

don't feed the penguin ah what possible

harm could one little biscuit do

here we are

once you get the dots

[Music]

those lads always have to learn the hard

way

phew

that was a close one

ross i'm afraid they've beaten us to it

why you little

well that was a shock for the lads those

penguins were everywhere

[Music]

what are we gonna do

inspectors do any minute

listen

i've got an idea

[Music]

[Music]

well those penguins didn't like comedies

playing either the noise from those

bagpipes drove them down the stairs and

right out of the door

come on how'd you go no

because at that moment i arrived back

with the inspector

well this is a fine welcome

uh just driving the penguins away aren't

we ross

ross

yeah it's a sense of humor too

well i could say i'm going to enjoy this

inspection hmm

have you another set of pipes i play as

well you know

[Music]

yeah only i could have some peace and

quiet

well it's either bagpipes or the

penguins i did warn you ross not to feed

him

yes

you were right phil

[Music]

[Music]

what's happening at the lighthouse

they're singing a song

when the wind blows in of the salty sea

come dance a jig to a sea shanty it

feels so right it feels so great to be a

lighthouse keeper

yo h* h* see the big ships go across the

rolling street

sunshine or wind or rain or fog write it

down in a daily log with a cup of tea

it's warm and snug to be a light

housekeeper

yoho h* see the big ships go across the

rolling sea

[Music]

why was the lobster arrested

oh i don't know why was the lobster

arrested

because it was always pinching things

[Music]

see the big ships go across the rolling

sea

and way up here where the lamp burns

bright on top of the world by day you're

a night with a telescope you feel just

right when you're a lighthouse keeper

[Music]

i can't wait to tell you my next story

this is the village of mcgilly cuddy and

here's the village's only shop eddie

stone's emporium sells everything from

tomatoes to tricycles well it usually

does

today something special has happened

it's stock taking day

now let's see

biscuits

tins on sorted five yes a roll of tartan

yes

uh one dozen light bulbs

yes

two dozen tulip

oh

oh dear

now was it

one doesn't like bulbs or two dozen

tulip bulbs or

two dozen light bulbs and one dozen

tunic bombs

morning eddie my goodness you're all

right

oh yeah yes yes sir uh perfectly all

right thank you i'm i'm uh in the middle

of my annual stock taking

and i can't quite remember where

everything is

and that's all

oh uh can i help you

well i came in to buy a dozen eggs but

if you'd rather i came back later

oh no no no no not at all edward stone's

emporium at your service oh no um where

did i put that tea ah oh yes

oh dear

now my filing system's scrambled and

i'll never get this lot sorted out

scrambled eh

that gives me an idea eddie

you must have a stop taking sale sell

everything and you won't need to worry

about stop taking any more

oh it's a good idea

but i'll need to put up posters and get

in extra staff and don't worry just sit

down and have a rest and leave the rest

to me

that's when i came in on the scene

i was on the mainland taking dogger for

his daily walk

when miss shannon asked me to help

i couldn't refuse could i

so we formed a queue outside eddie's

shop and waited

and it wasn't long before everyone

wanted to join in

what we queuing for bill

hey i'm george pastner it's eddie's

stone super scramble stop taking sail

there'll be lots of bargains oh any

stone super scramble stop taking sale

eddie

[Music]

shannon's idea worked in a few minutes

the queue of customers waiting for eddie

stone's super scramble stop taking sail

stretched out right along the keys line

[Music]

the crew of the offshore oil rig heard

about eddie's super scramble sale and

wanted to join in

[Music]

um what's that two turkeys and a teapot

yes i think so

yeah nutty biscuits coffee biscuits and

dog biscuits

that's all we have i'm afraid

box of fruit and a fire extinguisher

did you say

five sacks of potatoes

[Music]

oh what a marvelous idea we've sold

everything in the shop but for this one

otk

here you are dogger i suppose you've

earned it

what's wrong eddie

you've sold everything in the shop so

you don't have to do any more

stock-taking

why are you looking so miserable

i'm not miserable doorbell

it's just that now everything in the

shop has been sold

there's nothing left for my team oh yes

there is eddie

you're treading on those eggs i wanted

when i came in

now we can all have scrambled eggs for

tea

you mean super sale scrambled eggs

oh come with me to the rolling sea while

the weather's calm and still

and we'll have some fun and laughter

with the adventures of portland bill
