squirrel it was a beautiful sunny
morning and just as usual Connie woke up
very early to go and play with her
friends in the
forest Connie was strolling along
happily when she saw a bird Zoom by she
ran after him to find out where he was
going hello viy bird where are you going
in sari they're playing music in the
woods I want to go listen oh good I'll
come too I love listening to
[Music]
music Connie arrived at the clearing
where the musicians were
playing there was the spider strumming
his
heart and the crab with his pincers
clacking and the cricket with his happy
chering Connie loved the music and she
started to
dance just then a squirrel came hopping
by she was always busy working and never
had time to play Hey Little squirrel why
don't you come and enjoy the music with
us I'm much too busy to waste time
[Music]
dancing don't mind about aric Connie she
never wants to have fun come and dance
with us
instead Connie was having a wonderful
time but one by one her friends started
to leave why did those two have to go
away we're having a brilliant time
together they've got other things to do
and I'm afraid that we'll have to get
going too Connie what do you mean we're
having such fun why do we have to stop
sorry Cony mustache some other
time Connie felt a little bit sad but
she decided she'd just have to look for
someone else to play

with those squirrels look friendly I
think I'll go and say hello to them
hello squirrels there's no need to rush
around like that why don't you stop and
play the squirrels thought that sounded
like a wonderful idea
hooray and in no time at all they were
having lots of fun

what are you two doing now you're
supposed to be collecting nuts and
acorns not not wasting time
playing the cold weather and the snow
will be arriving soon it's all very well
for this little cow to spend all her
time playing but we need to gather
plenty of food and store it up in our
ladder otherwise when the winter comes
we won't have anything to eat
there was lots of food in the woods she
couldn't understand why the squirrels
wanted to store it

up the days went by and the weeks went
by and winter came
[Music]
around there was snow everywhere Connie
set out for the woods to find her
friends hello Bey do you want to come
out and play play outside it's far too
cold I'm staying in my Nest to keep
[Music]
warm Connie went on looking for a friend
to play with but she couldn't find
anyone I'll have something to eat that
ought to warm me
up Connie looked around under the snow
but she couldn't find any grass she
looked for fruit in the trees but she
saw that all the trees were bare oh dear
maybe I should go back
home Connie was on her way back to her
little house when she saw the nest where
the squirrels
lived hello there little squirrels
what's the matter you look a bit glum oh
Connie we're sad because we're bored our
sister's good at working but she doesn't
know how to play so we're stuck here
with nothing to do it isn't much fun I
can tell you but having fun is the
easiest thing in the world tell your
sister to come out here I'll show her
lots of games she can
play The Busy squirrel thought that
Connie sounded very friendly she decided
to go outside to see if playing was as
much fun as her sister said it was
[Music]
the three little squirrels came out to
play they quickly forgot all about the
[Music]
cold you're all right all along Connie
playing is a lot of fun isn't it girls
M yum are those acorns for
me yes Connie they're all for you you
should me how to play so in return I'd
like to give you these acorns from our
store oh thank you very much I'm ever so
[Music]
hungry those acorns were delicious I
think it's time to go home now but I'll
come back tomorrow and we can play
outside again we'll be expecting
youbye you tomorrow
don't worry squirrels I'll be
there so Connie went home as she went
off to sleep in her warm little house
she thought that although it's nice to
have fun it is important to work too
