01x18 - The magic fountain

the magic spring

it was very early on a lovely spring

morning

connie was sleeping peacefully next to

her mum and dad

but then the cherubing of a cricket woke

her up

sounded like a lot of fun

so without a second thought she set off

after him

the cricket led the way through the

woods and soon connie found herself in a

place she had never seen before

oh good spring all this walking has made

me thirsty

but just as she was about to take a

drink a bee came flying by

the bee tried its best to stop connie

from drinking in the spring

but when it saw that connie would pay no

attention

it flew away again

what an annoying bee

what lovely fresh water thought connie

but suddenly she began to get smaller

and smaller and smaller

oh no something very strange has

happened connie had become as tiny as

the tiniest little insects

patch the dog was strolling along nearby

oh

connie thought it would be fun to play

with her friend patch

but she was so tired that he didn't

notice her

no i'm so small he can't even see me and

he nearly stood right on top of me whoo

what an enormous bumblebee

i'm not involved you're just very small

now i tried to warn you about that

spring but you took no notice it's a

magical spring in its water happening

when connie looked around she could see

the world the way insects see it it was

wonderful she could do all sorts of

things she had never done before

connie was very happy

then suddenly she heard some great big

footsteps

it must be a giant she thought

but it was just a harmless little mouse

oh what a huge mouse

it's bigger than me

so connie went off to find somewhere

safer to play

connie arrived at the edge of a lake

but how could she get across

she didn't know how to swim

then she saw a walnut shell

it was just big enough for her to use as

a boat

connie was sailing along quite happily

when two little fish started to jump

around in the water

connie was very worried

if one of the fish landed on top of the

nutshell they would tip it over

but just in time the bee arrived and

rescued her from danger

are you feeling hungry connie

yes i am but i don't know what i can eat

the bee said that she should try the

nectar from the flowers because it was

very sweet and tasty

really delicious being small has

advantages after all yes indeed

the bee took connie to some amazing

places full of extraordinary insects

connie was amazed to see the insects so

close up

but then connie started to feel rather

sad

this is very interesting but i want to

be like i was before if i'm all tiny my

mom and dad won't be able to see me

the little bee felt very sorry for

connie and she decided to help her

the water from the spring made you small

so maybe another drink will make you big

again

but i might get even smaller that would

be no good well it's worth giving it a

try little b you know i think you're

right

so connie and the bee went back to the

magic spring

at first connie didn't think it had

worked she was just as small as ever but

all of a sudden she started to grow

hooray i'm right back to normal again

i've made a friend and you're back to

normal everything's turned out perfectly

oh thank you so much for helping me

don't mention it i had a wonderful time

playing with you and i hope we see each

other again soon

i had a great time with you too

connie woke up it had all been a

marvelous dream

oh what a wonderful dream i've been

having

connie went back to sleep hoping that

she'd meet her friend

in another lovely dream
