06x10 - The Troll's Wish / Bears / Mist

it had been a rainy day of games

okay you discovered it's hard to hold

all your cards in one hand

orbee learned that it's not easy to get

at the dice when they roll under the

couch

and they both found out that if you

leave your window open in a rainstorm

the floor is going to get wet

[Music]

it was pouring outside when katie opened

the front door

miguel bryn and phoebe who come over to

play were all

huddled under one big umbrella grin's

mom waved from the street and hurried

off home

orbee asked if anybody wanted to play a

game of the

grouchy troll in the basement the

friends loved the idea so they asked dad

it was fine with dad who went down with

the fence to make sure the basement was

safe to play in

while he was there he built a troll's

cave with some

empty boxes blankets and chairs dad

climbed back up the stairs so they could

play but

brought his work into the kitchen to be

nearby

orbee looking a lot like a troll with a

rag on his head

tooted that he wanted to pretend that

the troll was selfish

didn't like the villagers coming to near

his cave then miguel said

that he wanted to be the biggest

strongest villager

they also added that they had to go near

the trolls cave because

it was right beside their farmland

katie and grimm who were talking with

phoebe came up with the idea that the

troll

had something very precious hidden in

his cage

orbee grumbled precious like a diamond

kitty's eyes sparkled with the light

what if the hidden thing

was a wish and he wouldn't share it

troll orbee snarled that of course he

wouldn't share it

trolls don't share anything and he

hobbled into the cave

the friends were setting up their

village when orbee ran out burbling that

he wasn't the troll right now

he grabbed a sock from a clean laundry

pile to keep the wish in

and raced back into his cave once he was

inside

he tooted but now he was the troll again

this caused some giggling among the

villagers

to start the game miguel walked toward

the farm

the grouchy troll growled around him

to scare him off miguel told the troll

that he was very strong

the troll pointed out that he the troll

was stronger

and pounded on his chest to make his

point miguel did a silly jump in the air

and said

yikes and raced for safety

next it was phoebe's turn she ran really

fast before the troll could pop out of

his cave

she shouted hooray because she had

gotten past the troll

but robbie said that she had to get home

phoebe pretended to pick up some food

and then

ran back orbee jumped out making a

really silly noise

phoebe shrieked and almost jumped into

brynn's lap

the grumpy troll scurried back into his

cave he came out

fingering the sock with the wish in it

he burbled in a grouchy

sort of way that he didn't want to share

with anybody

even if he was lonely without any

friends he sculpt back into his cave

meanwhile the villagers were in great

discussion and arms were waving in

all directions then they walked as they

huddled frightened

giggling mess an orbee leapt out of his

cave and

snarled at them the girl told the troll

that he didn't need to be so grouchy

patrol grabbed it miguel but he moved on

and then the troll caught katie instead

she shrieked because orbee surprised her

bryn and phoebe raced for safety

in the kitchen dad smiled having fun was

a noisy

business

miguel tried to save katie but orbee

yanked her so quickly

that she had to go with him miguel told

the troll that he'd be back

and he ran over to bryn and phoebe brynn

pretended to cry

when miguel announced that the troll had

snatched katie

immediately they set about making a

rescue plan

in the cave katie told the trolling she

would be his friend if you'd stop being

so crabby

the troll styled everyone he would try

the two of them played a game of patty

cake which orbee did in a

trolley sort of fashion katie giggled

he wasn't a bad troll but to have

friends he'd need to learn how

to be nice and he was doing very well

until he heard a knocking noise on the

cave

when the villagers squeezed into the

cave they were very surprised to find

that katie and the troll

were playing a game katie invited them

to join in but the troll who had trouble

controlling his grouchiness told her

he didn't want them to play he wanted to

be

katie's only friend he took all the

villagers except katie and put them in a

large

empty cardboard box the villagers were

trying to pretend to be frightened

but the laughing got so out of hand

that the entire box fell over villagers

and all and the villagers

begged to be set free amid laughter but

the troll shook his head

then he wanted to play with katie but

she crossed her arms and said

no it made her sad to see her friends

sent away and she didn't feel like

playing anymore

she explained that grouchy never worked

as well as nice

miguel shouted yeah

katie was very disheartened inside then

the troll brought out his sock with the

wish in it

maybe it would cheer her up he

begrudgingly asked if he

shared his wish with her would she play

katie hmm try to

to decide after all the wish was famous

around the village

it was considered quite a treasure then

katie nodded yes she knew the perfect

wish

the troll held the sock open and katie

pretended to

pull out the wish to share it

they'd have to wish it together the

troll nodded

as she held the wish up to the sky she

said her wish was

that the troll and the villagers could

be fine friends

the troll snarled at this

everybody in the capsized box giggled

but when katie opened up her fingers and

released the wish the troll no longer

saw bothersome villagers

he saw great chums and together even

with the troll doing everything wrong

they played many happy games

brynn declared that the friendship

between the villagers and the troll

would last forever because one thing had

changed

the troll was no longer grouchy

and in fact villager katie was right

grouchy never does work as well as nice

but then i don't have to tell you

because

you're one of the nicest people

that i know

[Music]

ask your mom or dad to cut a potato in

half then

get them to help you cut a design into

one half of the potato

dip the shape into paint and then start

stamping your very own picture

who knew potatoes could be so much fun

[Music]

it had been a saturday of getting the

house in order

katie learned that she could help mom

sort the laundry by putting all the

white clothes into one pile

orbee found out that dad needed someone

to light bulb fetch when he was on the

stepladder

and they both discovered that tidying up

their bookshelf

took two friends one to keep the books

standing up

and one to put the books back that they

had read

when kenny and orbee were done with

their chores they headed out of their

bedroom to find adventure

and they found it it was waiting for

them

upstairs in the linen closet mom had

pulled out all the things they didn't

need or use anymore

and that left an empty space at the

bottom of the closet

katie and orbeez stopped at the same

time when they noticed it through the

open door

the space was just large enough for two

best friends and

so with the giggle they crawled in

as they huddled in the closet orbee told

katie that

with the door almost closed it felt

exactly

like a bear's cave

of course orbee had never been in the

real bear's cave but

if he had he imagined it would feel a

little like this

katie rowled at him

and that started the whole game off they

would pretend

they were bears

[Music]

katie who was curled up with orbee

pointed out that the floor was a bit

hard

and they would be more comfortable if

they had a little something soft on it

orbee agreed they crawled like bears all

the way to katie's room and

grabbed her quilt and together they

dragged it back and made a nice healthy

place

it was so comfy in the closet that the

two bears would have stayed there all

day

except for one thing orbeez tummy

rumbled

[Music]

burbling orbee explained that they were

settling down for a long winter nap

they'd better eat first katie growled

and that meant right the two bears

tumbled along the hall and patted down

the stairs

they sniffed the air they made their way

to two humans who were very surprised

when the bears growled at them

mom told dad that she'd better give the

ferocious bears a snack

or they might eat her up

upstairs chance sauntered by the closet

and happened to notice that katie's soft

comfy quilt was lying on the floor all

bunched up

chance felt sure that katie had left it

there just for him so

he crawled in and curled right up for a

catnap

on the kitchen floor on their hands and

knees the two bears pretended to catch

fish in the stream with their palm when

they caught enough

orbee took them berry hunting around the

kitchen

mom told dad he was a bit nervous

because the bears were so hungry

he really didn't want to get eaten up

soon mom had prepared a perfect cave

takeout snack for the hungry animal she

popped some cheese and crackers into a

little plastic container

and gave each bear a juice box

as the bears ambled up to the cave

chance continued to snooze in the closet

but when he heard katie and orbee

giggling and coming along the hall

he quickly jumped up to the first shelf

and tucked himself away behind a pile of

towels

chance watched as the two bears growled

and crawled into the closet cats was

very surprised as you can imagine

the two bears arranged themselves around

their snack and got ready to eat

[Music]

the katy bear growled to the orbee bear

maybe they should wash before they had

their snack

they didn't really know how bears washed

so they did it the way they'd seen

chance to it

orbee made katie laugh as he really

licked his hand

through and the bears were all clean and

ready to eat

orbee pulled the closet door closer to

them so that no

other bears would try to sneak in and

steal their food

bears had to be careful kitty popped

open the snack container lid

and the wonderful smell of cheese

drifted up

it drifted up so high that chance

got a wonderful whiff of it katie

arranged a slice of cheese on a cr*cker

for orbee

and handed it to him chance peeked over

the edge of the shelf

unnoticed by katie and orbee he watched

as katie picked up another piece of

cheese

and put it on her cr*cker

[Music]

or be burbled that bears have to be very

careful not to attract

other bears because they might come in

and take over their cave

as katie lifted the snack toward her

mouth chance leaned down from his shelf

and stepped onto katie's shoulder katie

was in mid-month when she felt

something strange on her shoulder and

certain

it was other bears real bears she jumped

up and shrieked in fright throwing the

rest of her snack

up in the air it didn't go far crackers

and cheese

bounced off the bottom of the shelf and

fell on orbee's lap orbee was so

startled by the shriek and

something strange laughing on his lap

but he jumped and bumped his head on the

first shelf

chance was shocked at all the noise and

shot through the partially open closet

door

and down the hall

mom and dad raced up the stairs because

although bears had been making weird

bear noises

these noises sounded like something else

when they arrived at the closet they

found kate heath lapping so hard

she was wiping tears from her eyes and

orbee

rubbing his head laughing too

mom asked what was going on in the bear

cave

it was hard for orbee to burble and

katie to speak but

between them they explained about the

cave visitor and

how kitty for a second imagined that it

really was a bear

and not a cuddly pussycat well

everyone laughed except for chance who

had had the fight of his life

mom helped pick up the crackers and

cheese she told katie

her imagination had run wild and for a

moment

she really believed it was possible for

a bear to be in the linen closet

katie smiled because mum was absolutely

right

[Music]

the two friends brought chance back to

the closet to show him there was nothing

scary in it

chance was glad to see that

soon two bears and one cat really did

have a winter's nap

maybe not an all-went in that but a

little map just the same

[Music]

katie and orbee often laugh about how

scared they had been

when her imagination ran away with her

and i hope if that ever happens to you

that you'll have a good laugh about it

too

just like katie and orbee

[Music]

dogs can be more than family pets some

dogs actually have jobs

there are dogs that help the blind as

seeing eye dogs

others should work on fire are with the

police

finding missing people oh you never know

maybe your dog

is a crime fighter in disguise

[Music]

it had been a quiet night

katie learned that under chance is a

warm place to put your toes when

he sleeps on your bed orbee found out

that sometimes the

night darkened room feels like velvet

and they both discovered that

even though dad's alarm was noisy some

days it's easy to sleep through it

on that day katie and obi were sharply

awakened by mom calling to dad

he'd slept in dad stumbled down the

stairs followed by two sleepy friends

dad looked out the window and told mom

it was no wonder he slept

in he pointed to the window and the two

sleepyheads went over to look out

what was odd was that even though you

used your eyes and tried to see the

front yard

and the house across the street you just

couldn't

it was gray and strange looking outside

add shuffle to the kitchen for coffee

and call his office

mom explained to katie and orbee that

during the night a fog

had moved in the fog was like a cloud

that had sunk close to the ground

making the day misty instead of clear

katie looked at orbee in delight they

could actually

touch a cloud today this was very

exciting

mom was setting the table when katie

appeared fully dressed with orbeez toe

she asked if they could play outside in

the cloud

mom crouched down which meant she had

something

serious to say she told katie and orbee

that because of the fog

cars couldn't be seen easily on the road

so they must play

in the front yard on the grass she asked

the friends to put on their ram gear as

miss can be wet

katie and orbee did just that and dashed

out the front door

katie noticed that in fact you couldn't

really even see the sidewalk

they walked towards it to the edge of

the grass and when they got there they

could see the sidewalk but they still

couldn't see the house across the street

katie wondered if it was still there

orbee was sure it was just like their

house was

right behind them they turned to look at

their house

although you could see where the lights

were on you couldn't

really see the rest of it katie

giggled things

were disappearing in the fog

just as an idea for a game was stirring

in her head

i said he thought it was a perfect day

to pretend that

he was a sailor lost at sea on a foggy

day

he kicked a big empty box that dad had

left for the recycling

with just the right size for a sailor's

boat katy giggles he liked the sound of

orbeez game

he was going to be a mermaid

inside the box orbee discovered it

wasn't too easy to move so

he opened up the bottom sort of

shuffled and jumped with his feet to get

where he was going

katie pretended she was swimming in the

ocean orbee used an

empty towel roll for his spy glass

and he scanned the horizon

he burbled that he was lost in the mist

and couldn't find the shore

the huge thigh that made katie giggle

he tooted that he'd never see home again

because he was so

lost and then he pretended to cry

he made a very silly sound and heaved

his shoulders up and down

mermaid katie swam over to the sailor

he sat slumped down in his box and

burbled that

only a mermaid could help him now

katie peeked over the top of the box and

with a grand smile

announced that she was a mermaid and she

knew the way to the lighthouse

orbee jumped up so quickly he fell

right over the edge of his box and ended

up underneath it

katie lifted the corner and told the

sailor to follow her

orbee righted the box boat and climbed

in again

he followed katie as she pretended to

swim around

looking for sure she swam right by a

tree

or be bumped into on purpose this time

he flipped out on somersault across the

ground

laughing katie glanced back as orbee

checked the front of his ship and

burbled

but there was no damage next katie swam

toward the bicycles near the garage

orbee bumped into these two

tumbling blocks and all across the misty

damp grass

the mermaid by now suspected the sailor

liked to bump into things

just as she was heading toward the edge

of the grass

a loud fog horn was heard orbee

untangled himself and floated over in a

bumpy

jumpy sort of way when tom

came through the mist and katie and

orbee could see who it was

tom's foghorn sound changed to a chuckle

the friends chuckled too tom told the

friends he was on his way to school

if he could find it he waved goodbye and

katie and orbee waved back

sailor orbee was sure he was going to

bash right up against the rocks and

never get home

he did his silly cry again and the

mermaid

asked the sailor to follow her and stop

bumping into things

or be giggled and tooted that the sea

was rough

as they circled back towards the house

mom opened the front door

light cascaded out into the fog katie

shrieked that they'd finally found the

lighthouse

now the sailor was safe they swam and

sailed to safety

of course the sailor couldn't resist

bumping into the steps and falling over

the big wave orbeez as he peeked out of

the box

[Music]

when they were inside again safe and

sound the sailor invited the exhausted

mermaid

to come and have breakfast with him if

she could stay out of the water that

long

the mermaid agreed that breakfast would

be wonderful

and she swam down the hall

when they sat at the table dad placed

some of his

very famous made to order pancakes in

front of them

they both clapped their hands in delight

orbeez pancake was shaped like a ship

with a sail

and katie's was like a big fish tail

and told them i hope they didn't taste

too fishy

and giggles and chuckles trilled through

the house

[Music]

after breakfast katie and orbee went

back out and played more missed games

in the late morning the fog lifted and

the sun broke through

the france took off the rain jackets as

the old neighborhood cleared up

i hope when it's misty around your house

you'll enjoy playing in it

i wonder what game you'll make up

i can't imagine what it will be but i do

know that it will be great fun

because any game with you

always is
