me to say hello to you it's nice to see

party today there may not be a surprise

party Turtle I can't find Elmer and I'm

concerned I was hoping he was here with

you he's not here papy he left after

returning my Opera records yesterday a

cheese manotti this is a

catastrophe do you have any idea where

he is he left me a note but he didn't

mention where he was going I'm concerned

about him did El give you any clue about

what he was planning to do after he left

was going to play Checkers over at wood

mosquito wait a minute that's not a

hey there papy hi Chuckie is Elmer here

no papy I've been looking all over papy

land and I can't find him I'm

concerned you look worried um is being

concerned the same as being worried

being concerned is just wanting to be

sure that someone is okay but sometimes

when you're concerned you're also a

little worried I'm getting a little

worried because I've looked for him

almost everywhere do you remember

remember anything that Elmer said that

could help us find him well we played

Checkers for a long time yesterday Elmer

said he was really tired and had to go

to work this morning so he left to get

some rest that's it let's fly straight

to the papy Mind where Elmer Works bye

Chucky I sure hope that papy finds Elmer

so I get to hum to him at the party and

I'm sure glad that buzzing wasn't a

mosquito

whoa who turned on lights

Elmer don't you know what time it is

well I guess I snoozed off a little and

lost track of time I've been very

concerned about you and so have all of

our friends we didn't know where you

were when you were coming back well I

left a note so you wouldn't worry I

don't think you quite understand what

concern means it's when someone cares

what happens to you they want you to be

happy and safe that's why they always

need to know where you are maybe a

picture will help explain

Elmer just like Elmer says it's that

time again to get ready to draw with

papy get everything you need because

we're just about ready to

start all right we're going to draw a

picture of a little girl standing next

to a baby calf all right I'm going to

draw the baby calf first

all righty I'm going to start right

here and draw this long swooping

line and I'm going to draw another line

right next to it that'll be the Cal's

tail let's put a little

fluffy some fun Loops near the end here

to show that the table is nice and

fluffy all right let's draw the back leg

like that starting here bring this line

down

the other

leg now we'll draw the tummy and bring

it over and stop right

there another

leg good good now let's starting right

here let's bring this line up to the

neck and we'll stop there because we're

going to draw the Cal's head a little

later all right starting right here

let's draw the final leg right there and

bring that

down good now is a good time to put the

Cal's hoofs on here we go a curve line

bring it over and back around a curv

line bring it over and back up curve

line bring it over and back up again a

curve line bring it over and back up

again and let's just put a little line

there there we

go good now let's draw the baby Cal's

face I'll start by drawing his

ear all right and over here let's draw

the other ear and stop right

there okay let's put some hair on his

head

real bushy just like

that now starting right here let's bring

this line around that'll be his cheek

and we'll bring it

around

and curve it back up and stop right by

that other ear all right let's show the

inside of his

ear by repeating the shape this this

shape right here we can repeat that and

show the inside of the ear and we'll do

the same here we're just moving the line

inward like that good all righty let's

put a smile on our

calf good and he needs a little nostril

for his nose that's just a little

circle and H what's missing on his face

did somebody say an eye all right let's

show his eye over here

and we'll draw another little circle in

between okay have you ever noticed no

two cows have the exact same spots you

can use your imagination when you draw

the spots on your cow make them any

shape you

want okay I'm going to put one spot here

another spot right next to it and a big

spot right there on his back and one

behind his

leg looks good hey I know I'm going to

put a spot around his

eye here we go around his eye like that

looks pretty good all right let's let's

draw the the little girl now and she's

going to she's going to be holding a

basket all right I'm going to start with

her her head I'm going to draw a

swooping curved half circle like

that and a small curve line here and

another one a whole

bunch of little lines just like that all

righty let's put a curved line she has

pigtails and I'm going to draw another

curved line like that and bring it

around these are her pigtails and we'll

just show a little curved line to show

that she's has them wrapped in a rubber

band or a

ribbon okay let's start right here and

let's make the bottom of her chin here

right below her hair we'll put a curve

line and

stop and we'll bring another line

around that's her ear all right let's

put her face I'm going to start with her

nose and that's just a little looping

line and starting right

here we're going to draw an upward

stroke like that and that's her smile

and one eye and another eye that's just

a dot py just drew a little dot to show

her eyes there we go now let's draw her

t-shirt we'll put a line there like that

and bring it around and her other sleeve

and we'll bring that

around and small line there and another

line there and this is her neckline on

the T-shirt very good all right let's

draw her

arms a loop a loop a loop aoop Loop just

like that just to indicate her indicate

that her fingers are wrapped around the

basket there we go all right and bring

that line back

up and we'll just draw that's the end of

her t-shirt where it's tucked into her

pants all right let's draw the basket

we'll start right there and bring that

line around and

up and we'll come back down bring that

over and bring it up and inside the

basket is going to be a

bell and we'll just put a little Loop

there to show that there's a little

string tied to it good we'll show the

other side of the basket all righty now

let's show her pant leg by just bringing

a line down like that bring it over and

another line right

there now let's do her sneaks a curve

line

and stop right there do the same on the

other

side and

stop okay let's draw the bottom of her

sneak by just putting another line

similar to the just like the line that

you drew there we'll just draw another

one right next to it but we won't make

the lines touch just like that good now

let's put a curve line

here and another curve line F

there earlier

today we were concerned about Elmer are

you wondering what this picture has to

do with concern that little girl doesn't

look too concerned you're right Elmer

let's find out

why now I W ever have to wonder or be

concerned about where you are I'll

always be able to find

you do you know why the little girl put

the cowbell around the little cow's neck

the girl always wants to be able to find

the cow she's concerned about the cow

because she cares about her just like I

care about you Elmer and so do all of

our friends that's why we've all been so

concerned a you make me feel very well

cared for Pep I feel like singing so do

I oh sing a song I'm right here papy do

you have a song for us about concern I

sure do then let's hit

care another way to say I wish that I

could be there when I think of you my

heart burs that's

love another way to say it you that I'm

thinking of when you're not here I feel

blue I guess that I'm concerned for

you I can't stop myself from thinking of

you you're so important to

me we fit together like a new pair of

shoes I hope that you can

care another way to say I wish that I

thinking of when you're not here I feel

P oh uh no particular reason Elmer

okay boys and girls let's get

coloring I think I'll color her

hair

brown I enjoy calling with you boys and

girls but you can color her hair any

color that you like you don't have to

color it brown because papy's coloring

it brown I'd like for you to use your

own imagination and color the little

girl's hair any color you'd like

there we go I'm keeping busy boy I tell

you coloring really keeps you busy

doesn't

it it's fun though isn't

it there and I'll just color that

in like

so I've been so pleased with the

pictures that so many of you have been

sending in I've noticed all the special

touches youve added like choosing your

own colors or even adding something

extra to the picture remember you each

have a style all of your own and that's

pretty

special how are you doing on your

coloring great I

hope and we'll just color that in like

that very

good all

right okay what would be a nice fun

color for her

shirt I'm going to use red but you can

use any color you'd

like you could put polka dots on your

shirt on the shirt here or you can

put stripes I'm going to color it in

solid all the way like

that oh that looks very nice

okay

now I'm going to color her face

now I enjoy coloring with you boys and

girls I hope you enjoy coloring with

coloring with papy

too she has a very happy look on her

face and I like

that and I'll color her arms

there that looks very nice I think I'm

going to choose yellow for her

basket just like we've been concerned

about Elmer you can also be concerned

about the things you do girls and boys

like drawing and coloring your very best

that means you care about what you're

doing and that's

important you know color the basket

in like

that and I'm going to use blue for her

pants again use your imagination you can

choose any color that you

like and we'll just color in her pants

like that

when you're finished with your drawing

you can put it Someplace Special or give

it to someone special like Mom or Dad a

relative or a friend you can also send

it to py Dr we'll give you the address

at the end of the

program all right I think I'm going to

color her sneaks

red I just

looking very good okay now I'm going to

put what's a good color for the spots on

the back of the the back of the

calf did somebody say

black that's what I'm going to

use color that

in like

that

and fill that in

just like

that and color that

in and the spot around the

eye just like

that and brown for the

hoof and that should just about do

it h that looks very good

let's see your pictures now girls and

boys hold them up nice and high so I can

see them very good they'd look great in

the Hall of Frames my birthday is almost

over and I haven't seen any of my other

papyan friends ah they're probably mad

at me anyways for not telling them where

I was maybe my next birthday will be

better gee I had forgotten it was your

birthday why don't we go back to the

cabin I have a piece of banana cream pie

we can

share you had a piece of banana cream

pie I hate it nothing's gone right today

that's okay Almer uh think of it as an

early birthday present now can I give
