If it cracks or breaks,
jake can lose his rudder
and his ability to steer.
Worse yet, losing the post
altogether would leave
a gaping hole
in the bottom of the hull
and cause the vessel
to flood or even sink.

using a pipe
and some bering sea ingenuity.
Unable to get to the problem
under the hull,
jake needs his patch job
to survive a 460-mile journey

and howling, 45-knot winds.

This stuff is just stacking up
worse and worse.
Like the little switch got
flipped in the bering sea.
