06x02 - The Newlyweb Game

Post by bunniefuu »

- Get ready for a "Game Changer."

Tonight's guests, they're
nerdy, they're flirty,

they get a little dirty,
it's Ify and Emily.

[upbeat music]
[audience applauding]

She's a writer, he's her ride or die.

Meet Tao and Alexis.

[upbeat music]
[audience applauding]

[Sam laughing]

And a would-be preacher
meets third grade teacher,

newlyweds Raph and Haley.

[upbeat music]
[audience applauding]

[Sam laughing]

And your host, me, I've
been here the whole time.

This is "Game Changer,"

the only game show where
the game changes every show.

I am your host Sam Reich.

I am joined today by these
three lovely couples.

Now, you all understand
how the game works?

- No, no.
- No, no, no.

- Absolutely not.

- That's right, our players have no idea

what game it is they're about to play.

The only way to learn is by playing.

The only way to win is by learning

and the only way to begin is by beginning.

So without further ado, let's begin.

Players, you all represent

three different stages of relationships,

dating, engaged and married just days ago.

- So we clearly win.

[Sam laughing]

- There's no doubt you
know each other intimately,

but how intimately as compared to these?

Our players have graciously allowed us

to snoop through their phones.

This is The Newlyweb Game.

- Oh, okay.
- Ooh.

- For your first challenge,

how many unread emails are
in your partner's inbox?

Use your paddles to guess.

Now be sure to hide your
paddles from your partners

so they don't have the
opportunity to correct you.

- Oh, my god.

- You should know.

[Raph laughs]

- Don't give him any hands, Haley.

Ify, let's start with you.

- Clear zero.

- Why do you say that?

- She does this wild thing

where if she doesn't
text you for like a week,

she just deletes the message thread.

Like, if you go

to her messages-
- Dead to me.

- They're like empty.

- Wow.
- Yeah.

So you believe in a no-receipts policy.

- Yeah.

- Are you a drug dealer?

[contestants laughing]

- Not currently.

Ify says zero, and the answer is two.

- Oh.
- Oh.

- Now, Ify, I'm going to give it to you

because it's the right number of digits.

- Yeah.
- So that's one point

for the two of you.
- Okay.

All right.

- Emily.

- In the complete opposite direction.

Ify has ADHD, so I said 1300.

[all laughing]

- Have you seen evidence of this?

- I mean just the way he does anything.

- Okay, come on.

- Oh, my.
- Wow.

- For this to be a correct answer, Emily,

I will give you anything
in the four digits.

- Perfect.

- Oh, no.
- Eight.

- Wow.
- Wow.

- I think that's a lie.
[Sam laughing]

- Yeah, look at that.

I keep my inboxes empty.

- You think a man this well
dressed has four digits?

- Who picked that out?
- In unread emails?

- We're not gonna talk about
who picked it out, but.

- Tao, how many unread emails

do you think Alexis has on her phone?

- Do you own that hat?
- No, I didn't buy it.

Should I have?
[contestants laughing]

There's like the, you know
your first page of your inbox?

- Yeah.
- And then there's, like,

all the rest that could be
unread, so wrote eight-ish.

- I wish I was her.

[all laughing]

- Let's go to the map.

- 65?

That's pretty close.
[contestants laughing]

- You are only one digit off.
- That's right.

- Alexis, what do you think?

- I think Tao's swagging
around with also a zero inbox.

- Ooh.
- He also is very judgmental

of me when I have stuff in my inbox, so.

- If this number is very high, then-

- I think he has to eat his hat.

- Tao's number.

- Wow.

- Are you out of your mind?
- Well this is,

I have, you know there was like a personal

and a work email and the personal is zero.

That makes less sense.

- I'm not sure that that's better.

- No, that's totally...

- Raph, let's go to you.

How many emails do you think Haley has?

- Haley is anxious and
organized but also busy.

- What's the number you got, Raph?

- 50.

- The actual number of unread emails

on Haley's phone.

Zero.

You know what they say, if
you want something done,

ask a busy person.

- Yes.

- Haley could have been so organized

and so diligent about email

that she should have
gotten a flood of emails

just in the period of time
since we took your phones.

- Which I think did happen.

We're in the middle of
a lawsuit with [bleep].

- I am going to have to cut that out.

- Leave it in.

- Leave it in.

- These two had to rebook
their wedding venue

with four days notice

because it turns out their wedding venue

was wanted by the law.

- Yes. That's not a lie.

- That is not an exaggeration.
- That's not a lie.

- That's the perfect thing
to say with that picture

up of Raph.
[contestants laughing]

- Haley, how many unread
emails on Raph's phone?

- I see Raphael next to me on the couch

and he just scrolls and doesn't look.

[Raph laughs]

- Yeah.
- So it's 2,500 from me.

- 2,500.
- Ooh.

- You're saying that Raph's
relationship to email

is more like window shopping?

[contestants laughing]

Survey says...

[contestants laughing]

- Oh, damn.

Whoa!

- You were just one digit away.

- Guys, I'm just as shocked as you.

[contestants laughing]

- Those may have all come
in during the time when...

We can't rule it out.

- Round one, and there's
one point on the board.

Fellas, what are the top three apps

your partner uses?

I will give you five
tries to get three apps.

- Ooh.
- Starting with Ify.

- All right, TikTok.
- Okay.

- Instagram.
- Okay.

- And the pizza maker app.

- I'm sorry, the what?

- It's a game of making pizza

and she's always playing it.

Like it's like a match combined game.

- And you're saying that this

is one of Emily's top three used apps?

- Yeah, I'm gonna stand on that.

[contestants laughing]

- You have two more guesses.

- I'm gonna just put messaging.

- No, guess the pizza app twice more.

[contestants laughing]

- No, I'm gonna put the
messages and [exhales] email.

- [Sam] Emily's top three apps.

Instagram, TikTok and the pizza app.

- Oh, wow.
- Are you serious?

- Which happens to be called Food Stylist.

- Y'all thought I was crazy!

Y'all thought I was crazy!

- I play it after therapy to relax.

- It's the come down after therapy?

- Yeah.

- That's really nice.
- It works.

- That is one point for Ify and Emily.

Ify for a bonus point,

how much time has Emily spent
on Food Stylist this week?

I will give you a one
hour margin of error.

I'm going with eight hours.

- The amount of time is
two hours and 19 minutes.

- How many times do you
think I go to therapy a week?

[contestants laughing]

- [Sam] Next up, Tao,
same question for you.

- Yeah, you in a hot seat now.

- Instagram.

- Yeah.

- I'll say Twitter.
- Okay.

- And then [laughs]
also a match three game,

Project Makeover or something like that.

- Okay.

- Libby, because Alexis
likes to listen to a book

and play that match three
game at the same time.

And then there's also another game

that is a design game
where you design a room

and then you have it
compete against other people

and they rate how good your room looks.

- Alexis's top three apps.

Instagram, Messages and Project Makeover.

- She's like, I think like level 11,000.

- Hey,

Hey, hey, in front of our friends?

[contestants laughing]

- Raph.
- Yes, sir?

- [Sam] What's it gonna be?

- TikTok, Instagram,
text messages, Spotify.

A fifth one?

Audible.

- Can I ask you why Spotify?

- Billie Eilish, in one name. [laughs]

- Is that fair, Haley?
- Yeah.

[contestants laughing]

- Top three apps.

Spotify, Messages, TikTok.

- Bing, bing, bing.
- That's a point on the board

for these two.
- Yeah.

- [Sam] Haley, do you feel seen?

- I did it.
- I feel seen.

[Raph laughs]

- Raph, for a bonus point,

how much time did Haley
spend on TikTok this week?

- Oh my god.
- I will give you

a three hour margin of error.

- Okay, thank you, 'cause
it's a large number.

I'll say 10.10 hours.

- 10 hours.

- Boom!

Boom!
- Oh my god.

- And 28 minutes.

- Woo hoo hoo!

- That is another point on the board.

- How do my emails look now?

- Pretty bad still.
- It's pretty bad still.

- It does feel necessary to point out

that that is a full workday and a half.

[contestants laughing]

Ladies, can you identify

one of your partners group chats

in this collection of five?

The Cult.

Anime and a*s.

Dutton Ranch Discourse.

Swiggty Swooty.

And The Big Beefy Papas.
[Raph laughs]

Your partner has one of them.

- Not my partner.
[contestants laughing]

What in the world do you get up to?

[contestants laughing]

- How well do we really know
the person in bed next to us?

[Raph chuckles]

Emily's confident enough

that she's written down
something right away

and she's sticking to it.

Haley has her guess ready.

Alexis has her guess ready.

I'm gonna ask the three of
you to flip these around.

Swiggty Swooty,

The Cult,

Anime and a*s.

- I believe it.

- The answers are...

Swiggty Swooty,

The Cult,

Anime and a*s.

That is points across the board.

- [Raph] Interesting.

- Dutton Ranch Discourse,

which is a text thread
devoted to discussing

the TV show "Yellowstone"
belongs to Carolyn Page

and The Big Beefy Papas is one of mine.

[contestants laughing]

Fellas, you are up next.

A similarly structured game.

Search histories.

- Oh, boy.

- Can you identify your
partner among them?

Shrek Crocs.

Kardashians who?

Chris Evans poop clip.

How to cook hard boiled egg.
[contestants laughing]

And do Japanese people sweat less?

- I'd like to know, actually.

- How to cook a hard boiled egg?

[contestants laughing]

- Tao thinks he knows.

Ify thinks he knows.

Raph thinks he knows.

And gentleman, reveal your results.

Do Japanese people sweat
less, egg and Shrek Crocs?

[Ify laughing]

The answers are do Japanese
people sweat less for Emily,

Shrek Crocs for Haley

but Chris Evans poop clip.

- Yeah, I cannot believe

you don't think I know how to cook an egg.

- I know you do, but you
like to do it perfect.

- [Ify] Oh.

- But that's not how I type.

I don't type, "How to
cook hard boiled egg."

- You're right, that's how I type.

You're right, that's how I type.

- Emily.

- Yes, so they do. I am half Japanese.

We were talking about it because
Ify, so sweaty at the gym.

I don't sweat at all.

I was like there's gotta
be a reason for that.

- You should look do
Nigerian people sweat more?

That seems to be the real question.

Haley, did you find your Shrek Crocs?

- Yes, and I gotta talk about it.

[contestants laughing]
I bought them.

So one of the noses fell off

and I reached out to Croc support twice.

- Did you just say Croc support?

- Yeah.
[Raph laughs]

But they're not very supportive.

Kardashians who? Lily Du.

- No.

- [Sam] How to cook hard
boiled egg. Katie Marovitch.

- Oh, that makes sense.

- Ladies, it's the same design.

- So embarrassing.

- Those search histories
are movies about calculus,

Doja Cat review,

Ancient Rome poop stick,
[Raph laughs]

can you heal corns with duct tape,

and how to get an annulment?

- No.
[contestants laughing]

He wouldn't.

- Haley thinks she knows,

Emily thinks she knows,

and so does Alexis.
[Alexis grunts]

Let's reveal your answers.

How to get an annulment,
Ancient Rome poop stick

movies about calculus.

The answers are how to get an annulment,

Ancient Rome poop stick,
movies about calculus.

Points across the board.

Well done, the three of you.

Tao and Alexis.
- Mm-hm.

- Aligned on the poop.
- Aww.

[contestants laughing]

- Raph, movies about calculus?

- I've been taking calculus

and so I wanted to see if
there's a movie about it.

[contestants laughing]

- Is it too boring? It's too boring?

- He said I don't have to read the book,

I'm gonna just watch the movie.

[contestants laughing]

- Ify.
- I got a homie who's, like,

you know he was on our couch,

he's trying to like end his marriage

and I was very confidently being, like,

oh you can get an annulment easy.

I was wrong. That's not how it works.

I had to send him a text like
you can't get an annulment.

- He was so bummed.

- Yeah, sorry, I was wrong.

- Doja Cat review was in fact me.

Look, I liked the album,

I just wanted to know if
other people liked the album.

And can you heal corns with duct tape-

- That sounds right.
- Was Grant O'Brien.

- Can we send somebody to his
place, make sure he's okay?

- I have Doja Cat review questions.

- I love her so much
that I worry about her.

I just wanted to know if it
was correctly well received.

Almost like-almost like a parent.

- Are you tearing up a little bit?

- A little bit.

A little bit.
- Yeah.

- Introducing now a woman

who is so far out of my league

that waitstaff ask if we're siblings,

my partner Elaine Carroll.
- Thank you.

Thank you.
[contestants clapping]

- Hi, everyone.

- Yay.

- This is so fun.

The set is really hot,

now I understand why you come
home so sweaty from working.

- So we thought it was not entirely fair

to embarrass all of you
without also embarrassing me.

- That's right.

- So I have handed my phone off to Elaine

before the sh**t got started.

I legitimately have no idea
what she's about to say.

- Okay.
- It's true,

but I have his real search history terms.

Are zebras white or black?
- Okay.

They are in fact black with white stripes.

- Yeah, yeah.
- Oh.

- Yeah, they black.

We're all black.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[contestants laughing]

- Okay, is Erewhon actually healthy?

- Last time we did a sh**t,

you had a big a*s Erewhon juice.

Oh, there it is.

[contestants laughing]

I like that you're like,

"Am I wasting my money?"
- Am I good?

- Yeah.

- Yes, and the answer is
none the less that I am.

- Okay, Stanley Tucci wife age.

- Oh, that's a good search.
- That is a good one.

What is that?

- I just wanted to make sure

the relationship was appropriate.

- Yeah?

- I'm gonna stop defending myself.

[contestants laughing]

- Is eenie meenie miney mo offensive?

- It is.
- It's not a tiger.

- Speaking of stripes.
- Speaking of stripes.

- And lastly, how much
do late night hosts make?

[contestants laughing]

- Oh, no.

- Somebody's asking himself for a raise.

- Yeah.
[contestants laughing]

- Thank you very much, honey.

I'll see you in a bit.
- Okay, bye.

- Bye.
[contestants clapping]

Ladies, of these three fellas,

do you think that your
partner has the most,

the least or the middle amount
of selfies on their phone?

- Ooh.

[Ify laughing]

Ladies' answers in.

Go ahead and turn around your paddles

in three, two, one.

The least, the middle, the most.

- Wow.
- Let's f*cking go.

- The answers are...

The least, the middle, the most.

- Yes!

- Holy sh*t.

g*dd*mn.
- That's why I underlined it.

- I didn't know I was going
to beat y'all by that much.

Damn.

Damn.

- That's points across the board.

- My emails are looking
a whole lot better now.

[Ify laughing]

- Fellas, same question.

- Okay.

Ify's got his answer
locked in and so does Tao.

Go ahead and reveal your answers

in three, two, one, go.

Most, least, middle.

With the least.

Alexis. That is a point on the board-

- Good job.
- For Tao and Alexis.

With the middle amount.

- Ooh.

- Emily.
[Raph laughs]

And with the most.

- Yes!
- Haley.

- [Ify] Wow!

- Show them what's up.
[Raph laughs]

- So would if there
were pictures like this.

[contestants laughing]

- Yes.

- [Tao] Oh my god, what a regal outfit.

- There are so many more
from this photo set.

Next up, how many photos

are in the hidden albums of
your phones collectively?

Here's how this is gonna work.

- Collectively?

- Each of you is gonna wager a guess.

If either of you guesses
correctly, you'll get the point.

If both of you do, you
will get two points.

I will give you a 25% margin of error.

- Who's doing the math on that?

- Raph, are you volunteering?

[Raph laughing]

Raph, we'll start with you.

- I just put 12.

- Haley, what about you?

Zero.

- Damn.

- The correct answer is zero

and that's a point for both of you.

- Oh, good job.
- Thanks to Haley.

- Good job.
- Thank you.

I don't have any secrets.

- You do.
- You thought I had secrets.

- No, you do.
[Sam laughs]

I don't.

- Tao.

Zero.

Alexis.

Zero.

- Did the work.

- The answer is zero.

That is two points for
you, bringing you to six.

- I just have embarrassing
things loose in my regular area.

- Ify.

[Raph laughing]

Emily.

The correct number, 177.

- Wow.

- Falling right in between
each other's numbers.

She doesn't use the hidden folder.

- Yes I do.
[Sam laughs]

- Well you said you use
it for my d*ck pics.

- Mm-hm.
- Yeah, and so,

and I use it for my d*ck pics.

- It seems to me that
what we're doing here

is double counting some d*ck pics

that are both on your
phone and on Emily's.

- We were definitely double counting.

- Dual wielding.
[contestants laughing]

- That's right.

- Next up, how many of
your partner's contacts

still have a dating app in their name?

Is the answer zero, one
to two or three or more?

Go ahead and write down your
answers on your paddles.

Let's go one at a time.

Raph, we'll start with you.

- I said zero

- [Sam] Zero.

- Lock it in.

- [Sam] Is correct.

And that is a point for the two of you.

- Yes.

- Break into the lead now with eight.

Haley, how many contacts?

Zero.
- I think so.

Well, it's fine. We're married.

[contestants laughing]

You are technically correct, Haley.

Zero.

But Raph, do explain
who do not respond is.

I'm so curious.

- This was someone who I
did not go on a date with.

- Oh?
- Because I got

kind of inundated with texts

that displayed more attachment
than I would've expected-

- I see why you put that.
- For having never met.

But I was like curious if they were gonna

start sending something that was-

- Sure. If you blocked them,
that would be like escalating?

- Keeping the option open?

- No, not all. No, no, no.

I want the least amount of drama.

You heard that [bleep]?

[contestants laughing]

Dropout and "Game Changer"

do not take sides on the lawsuit.

- You don't take sides on the lawsuit?

- Legally we do not-

- That's the whole point of court.

- That brings the two of you up to nine.

Tao.

Hm, three to four.

The answer in fact zero.

- Oh.

- Three plus? What am I, a maniac?

- You're right.
- What about our boy Tao?

- I think zero.
- Whoa.

- [Sam] The answer is...

- [Emily] Whoa?

- [Sam] Who's Danni?

- I don't know.

I have zero memory.

I have zero memory.

- Also, you are aging yourself, my friend.

- I know.
- OkCupid?

- OkCupid.

- It could stand for
Oklahoma City, who knows?

- Yeah, that's what I thought it was.

[contestants laughing]

- Emily, how many contacts?

- I'm gonna say zero.

- Zero is correct, Emily.
- Wow.

- [Sam] Very impressive.

- Ify is a person who's
like nice to meet you,

what's your full name so
I can put it in my phone?

- If we match on the dating site,

you're giving me your last name.

- It's about vetting the person.

- Like if you're white and I
scroll through your Instagram

and you ain't got no Black
friends for about six months,

yeah, we ain't meeting up.
- That makes sense.

Ify, what about Emily?

- I put zero.

- [Sam] I am so sorry to
do this to you, Emily.

- Ooh!

- Oh, wow.
- Wow.

- The thing is, I can't tell you

who any of these people are.

- I can tell you that
Joe comes from England.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[contestants laughing]

- Players, how much did your partner spend

on food delivery in the last month?

I will award you to the nearest hundred.

- Oh, okay.

- Alexis.

- I'm gonna go $700.

- The answer is 3$84.

Does most of this happen on Tao's card?

- Yeah, Tao's food daddy.

- Inside the house, food mommy.

- Food mommy.

- Well if that would be true,

then this number should be very small.

Tao, what's this number?

$80?

The number is in fact $132.

That is a point for Tao and Alexis,

- Thank god.
- Bravo you two.

- Next up, Emily.

- $450.

- I am also food daddy.

[contestants laughing]
I'm also food daddy.

- This number is in fact $286.

Ify, what do you think
this number is for Emily?

$225.25, love the decimal point.

- "Price Is Right?"
- Yeah, yeah.

- This number is in $211.
- Oh, nice work.

- That's a point on the board for you,

bringing you to eight.

Haley.

- $300?

- Raph's number is close, but no cigar.

Raph.

- I said $400.

- $400.

Actual retail price. $1,470.

- [Emily] My pearls.

- Food Daddy.

- [Contestants] Food Daddy,
Food Daddy, Food Daddy,

Food Daddy, Food Daddy.

- You're clearly feeding
a whole other family.

- Raphael, I did not
cook this month at all

because we were getting married.

I was so busy.
- That makes so much sense.

- But also it's usually very high.

[contestants laughing]

- Wait, what do you guys get?
- Yeah, yeah, yeah?

- I can tell you the answer to that.

- Oh, okay.
- Here's the thing,

when you order in, you can order

from all around the culinary landscape.

For instance, $101 on sushi,

or $138 on sushi,

or $161 on sushi,

or $182 on sushi,

or $176 on sushi.

- Yes.

- I had a rough month.

Like we are in a lawsuit.
[contestants laughing]

Truly, we are fighting
some criminals right now.

- Next up, players.

Can you finish your
partner's Twitter draft?

- Oh, wow.

- Haley, we'll start with you.

This is coming from Raph.
- Okay.

- Raph's Twitter drafts.

"Watching Lincoln lawyers
starring Matthew McConaughey

and actually thought they
made those Lincoln commercials

into a movie.

And that's when I knew I was..."

- I'm so sorry, I'm not gonna know.

- The answer is "Too high."
[contestants laughing]

- Oh.

- Raph, this one comes from Haley.

- Oh boy.

- "Today my BF and I were making out

and he said, 'Why is
your hair everywhere?'

And I said..."

- Why would it not be?

- That is incorrect, Raph.

The correct answer is,

"And I said, 'Why is your hair nowhere?'"

[contestants laughing]

- Ice cold.
- Damn, she got your a*s.

- Ice cold.
- She got me.

- Alexis.
- Yeah?

- This comes from Tao.

"Oh my name is Tao and I'm here to say

I eat p*ssy the natural way, colon..."

- Here's the problem is that
I almost certainly wrote this.

Whenever he leaves his phone unattended,

I put a Twitter draft up.

I don't remember what I thought

the natural way to eat p*ssy was.

- So you wrote this?
- It's possible.

- And you don't remember it?

- Oh, my name is Tao and I'm here to say,

I eat p*ssy the natural way.

"Straight out of the can."

- Close enough that I'm
gonna give it to you, Alexis.

It is, "Straight out of the jar homies."

- Yes, I wrote that.

- And that's gonna be a point for you

bringing you to eight.

- Tao, this one comes from Alexis.

"The media led me to believe

that I'd be offered complimentary..."

- Margaritas when I get to the resort.

- What?

- Here's the thing, Tao,

this is a bit of a trick question.
