19x01 - Call of a New Generation

Post by bunniefuu »

What is it?

We're drowning!

Dear God, what's going on?

Up, up!

I need some answers, please.

Hey, somebody talk to me.

It's fine.
Just keep it out of gear,

Norman's working on it.

Hey,
Sig you guys okay over there?

Hey,
Sig you guys okay over there?

I'm dead in the water.

Just keep coming, Jon.

We're trying to figure it out.

All right. Heading towards you.

What does it look like?

What is this?

I got a line in the wheel,

with more net than anything.

Looks pretty deliberate.

Man!

What do you want to do?

Hey, Jon.

Something stinky about that guy.

They're still north
of us, aren't they?

Can't see them on on the AIS,

but I have him on
radar. He's right there.

Have you got any
empty drums over there?

I got a few.

What are you thinking?

Oh, I'm thinking of
sending a message.

There's only so
much you can take,

before you make a stand.

U.S. Coast Guard.

The United
States coastguard is on high alert.

ill*gal fishing is spiking,

coasting the global
economy over $10 billion.

An unprecedented threat

to generational fisheries.

To generational fisheries.

Get that damn net on those drums

and douse it with as
much fuel as you can find.

We fought for things before.

For our fishery.

Okay, guys. All
right, drop this off.

For our families.

All right,
boys. Let's go.

Fishermen are
always on the front lines.

This is about
defending our grounds.

No matter what.

Someone's already
messing with our gear.

Boat off my bow.
Identify yourself, now.

We're stopping
whoever that is out there.

Watch out!

Oh! Oh!

Oh. Oh.

Let's go.

Cage in the
water. Bring him out.

Get him out! Get him out!

Whoa!

I'm sorry, it wasn't my fault.

Just shut the... and do it.

Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

After nearly
a decade of closure,

an additional million
pounds of eastern bairdi quota

is open and ready to harvest

for Bering Sea crabbers.

The newly available
cold-water eastern bairdi crab...

Overhead.

Along with their
larger golden king cousins...

- Go forward, right.
- And black cod fish

yield a record-breaking

$250 million fall season prize.

There's a lot of
hope for this year.

We're going to see
all kinds of people

coming out of the
woodwork to get this money.

Drawing in
the single-largest influx

of new captains and
crews in Bering Sea history.

Of new captains and
crews in Bering Sea history.

There we go, boys.

Eager to fight for their share

and their place in the fleet.

There's a lot of demand

and that creates a
much higher price.

And that's the good news.

The bad news is that,

there's a lot of ill*gal
fishing activity right now.

So, I'm going to go
talk to the coast guard

and see what we can do to help.

Good afternoon, everybody.

Good afternoon, everybody.

I'm lieutenant junior
grade, Lukas Psoinas

from the coast
guard Cutter Kimbal.

The Bering Sea
contains some of the most

successful
fisheries in the world.

What we're seeing
is that ill*gal fishing

is becoming a growing
threat worldwide.

Fishermen, foreign or domestic,

are coming in, fishing in areas

that are not regulated

or they're dodging the
regulations that exist.

Serious issue,
20-30% of all fish

Serious issue,
20-30% of all fish

that's on the market
was caught illegally.

You all are the tip of the
spear, day in and day out.

So, if you see something,

say something.

Be safe, be vigilant
and Godspeed.

With fears
of unidentified vessels

treading into Alaskan waters,

newcomers and veterans, alike,

prepare to face a common foe.

Hey, Jenna.

Hey.

You are so beautiful.

You ready for the good news?

The black cod from last year,

catching 500,000 pounds,

catching 500,000 pounds,

we're now going
to catch a million.

So that's good.

Yeah.

So, if all this goes well,

they got this really
nice crab boat.

It's been my favorite for years.

It's going, I heard, for
$2 million-$3 million,

something like that.

Twice the amount
of money to be made.

Okay.

Okay, I love you.

Tell the boys I love them.

All right, buh-bye.

Last year I thought,

I was just going to fail
miserably and go in debt.

Instead, with
black cod, I k*lled it.

I mean, I did so well,

I thought it was ill*gal.

Working his
way up from greenhorn,

to captain, to boat owner,

Jake Anderson now
eyes his very own armada,

Jake Anderson now
eyes his very own armada,

undertaking a mountainous

$4.8 million dollar
black cod season.

Wire down!

I don't want to end up

where I'm 55 years old

and realizing, "Dang, I
could have bought a fleet."

And accomplished
all of my dreams

instead of sticking
with just one boat.

- Good!
- Oh, yeah, check that out.

How's that?

You like my work?

Looking to follow
Jake's footsteps to the wheelhouse,

his newest hire,

his newest hire,

23-year-old Sophia
"Bob" Nielson.

We met Bob in King Cove,

tendering out there.
She runs the Victory.

So we bumped paths,

she'll cover and hang out.

Steal our Wi-Fi.

You're going to tell them about

how my brother was messaging you

over my inReach
and flirting with you,

but you thought it was me?

I guess you said it all for me, Bob.

Whoa!

Saga deckhands are eligible

for a $60,000 fall share.

For a $60,000 fall share.

Aye.

But Bob, she's
after something more.

I own a 74-foot wood boat

in Kodiak called the Victory.

Trying to gain all
the experience I can

about cod fishing,

because it will be my first time

running my boat this winter.

And I'm incredibly
nervous and I'm scared.

I know Bob doesn't
like to talk about her family,

or her history.

We have a lot of
similarities in our lives.

We have a lot of
similarities in our lives.

She's lost both her parents
when she was young.

She inherited her
parents' business.

So now she's a boat owner.

She's a captain.

I hope she can help out

with my operation.

And I hope that I
can help her out

with her operation
for this winter.

Across the harbor...

Mandy, is it on, yet?

Mandy, is it on, yet?

They're
wrapping it up, right now.

On the Northwestern.

We have a welder in the water.

He's installing some
line cutters for us.

They really look like a
set of scissors, almost.

I fished golden
king crab years ago.

This does bring back memories.

Our dad and I were together.

It's open-access.

And you can attack
and get what you get.

Fifth generation
Norwegian fisherman

and 33-year veteran,
Captain Sig Hansen

and 33-year veteran,
Captain Sig Hansen

and his daughter, Mandy,

ready to boat to hunt a species

it hasn't fished since 1988.

Line cutters are all installed.

Where are we starting?

Most of the fleet is going to
be out east. They're fishing bairdi.

We, on the other hand, are
going to follow that deep edge,

all the way up to the
Russian border, way up on top.

We're going to be up
there by ourselves?

No. We've got the Hillstrands.

- Jon?
- Not just Jon.

Jon to Andy,

welcome back to the
American Dream, brother.

Right, boys? We're
going to show the world

a little red, white and blue.

Give 'em some red.

Yes, boss.

Yeah!

Let's go Time Bandit!

Let's go Time Bandit!

Right, give 'em some white.

Oh, yeah!

Get your blue going.

Don't let 'em stop.
Don't let 'em run out.

Double-fist that son of a b*tch.

Red, white
and blue, baby. Whoo!

Let's go, baby!

Partnering with Sig

for the golden
king crab fishery.

Andy, you'll shroud us

and Dutch Harbor is
on my back, right now.

Captain Johnathan Hillstrand...

We need more blue!

We need more blue!

Is joined by his brother, Andy.

Time Bandit! Whoo!

For the first time since 2016.

Whoo!

Where the hell have you been?

Welcome back.

For 28 years...

Oh, yeah!

Andy earned a reputation

for expl*sive pots.

And, well...

Give 'em boys!

Give 'em boys!

expl*sives.

Jubilant and excited
because this is open access.

You go out, the
best fisherman wins.

This is the real deal.

Now, the
old-school derby-style fishery

lures him back into the saddle.

Back in the day when you
saw the Hillstrands around,

I mean, they were pretty crazy.

But they've matured
a lot over the years.

Push it away, if you like it.

Keep it there if you want more.

That's right. That's right.

- Push it away if you like it.
- Keep this away

- if you want more.
- Keep it there if you want more.

- If you want more.
- Keep it there if you want more.

Oh, I'm not touching you.

- I'm not... Mom!
- Ow!

- Ow.
- Oh.

Johnathan here.

Oh, so. What's
the plan, man?

What about bait?

I haven't been able to
find anything here in town.

How'd you guys do?

I ordered it last year

and Trident's been
holding them for me.

They put up about 10,000 pounds

and I only ordered like 65.

So I can split it with
you and give you a five.

So I can split it with
you and give you a five.

That's awesome. I love it.

No problem. I'll
pick it up tomorrow,

and I'll have them
set some aside for you.

- I'll see you at dock, Jon. Thank you.
- Yup.

I am glad you're onboard.

- We can work together.
- You, Hansen.

Oh, Andy just said he loves you.

So...

Just tell Sig I'll
take care of them.

I'll give him all
the info he needs.

All right,
buddy. We'll see you up there.

All right, guys, good luck.

Just outside Dutch Harbor,

aboard the 155-foot

World w*r II oil
tanker-turned crabber,

the fishing vessel, Wizard.

We're getting up there.

Getting up there early
enough to get our gear rig.

We have an additional
million pounds of bairdi

in the eastern district

which we haven't
had open in years.

Which we haven't
had open in years.

So, hopefully, bairdi's
going to save this boat.

Tanking over $100 million

of Bering Sea crab and cod fish

over the course of his career,

fleet high liner, Keith Colburn

bears down on Dutch,

readying to launch for
the 2022 fall season.

Who is that?

I've got a AIS target here

but there's no
information with it.

By U.S. law,
every boat in the Bering Sea

carries a GPS beacon

broadcasting the vessel's
name, type and position.

Vessel off my bow,

Vessel off my bow,

this is the Wizard.
Do you pick me up?

Vessel off my bow,
this is the Wizard.

Do you pick me up?

- Nothing?
- Nothing.

Hey, Robby...

Can I get you out there

just, yget another
set of eyeballs for me?

Wizard, pick me up.

And now, it's
completely disappearing.

Now it's gone.

That's odd.

Was it on the radar?

Yeah, I have a
target on the radar, Mouse.

If I can get close
enough, I can get a visual

and I can ID this guy.

Roger.

I'm not seeing anything.

And it has completely vanished.

Over there! Over there!

Ah!

Ah!

Now I got him.

This is the Wizard to the
vessel right off my bow.

Identify yourself.

Do you see a name?

I'm not seeing
fishing game numbers.

I'm not seeing a flag.

Oh, there he goes.
He's taking off.

Well, obviously
he's not in distress.

Casper, the
not-so-friendly ghost

Casper, the
not-so-friendly ghost

just took me on
a little witch hunt.

I can't be chasing
this guy down.

I got to get to town.
I got gear to rig.

And I guarantee you, this guy
does not belong out here fishing.

All right. Now throw.

That's a throw!

Be careful, Tommy.
Teach me too much

and I'll be taking your job.

You can have my job.

Overhead.

As new blood
courses into Dutch harbor...

We got to do
whatever we can to survive.

We've got a smaller boat.

We're going to gear up

and go catch some bairdi.

Old dog Steve "Harley"
Davidson must learn a new ship.

The 110 foot legendary crabber,

Barbara J.

Eastern bairdi's
been closed for several years.

Eastern bairdi's
been closed for several years.

These crab are big and
beautiful. They really are.

I was lucky enough to find
a guy who's got some quota.

So this could turn
out very lucrative.

You know what, nothing
new, just nice and easy here.

But a new boat

isn't the only thing
that veteran skipper

will have to get used to.

I met Jack in the summertime.

His dad was one of
the old-timers, man.

He was there same
time I was, you know.

He was there same
time I was, you know.

From what I've
heard and understand,

apple don't fall
far from the tree.

New co-captain,
28-year-old Jack Bunnell

joins the wheelhouse,

packing 60,000 pounds of
family-owned bairdi crab quota

and boulders capable
of shredding the nets

of ill*gal draggers.

God help me.

I wonder how this is
really going to work out.

Damn
it. Hey, take it easy.

Ah, lift it up a bit.

Wait!

Give it a little bit.

Can
you come up here for a bit, Jack,

I got to talk to you.

Roger.

Jack doesn't always
have the best ideas, but, you know,

he's had a couple,
so we give it a shot.

He's in-charge now.

He's in-charge now.

It's ballsy, I'll give him that.

We don't bring them
on board with these guys

- without hard hats on.
- That's, man.

It's not the way we roll.

You want to be a
captain on this boat,

you better abide by the rules.

I just thought we were
at the dock. I didn't...

It doesn't matter. You lifting
something up over your head.

- Got you.
- A rock.

- Kind of cool, though, huh?
- I don't know.

I just want to
have something in place.

So when a boat comes in,

I can stop them.

I can stop them.

He reminds me of me.

You know, he reminds
me of me when I was young.

But he's an aggressive dude.

You know, he's still young.

He's still got some moats going.

And I like him but

try to bring it down a notch.

Growing up, I'd
get in a fight at school,

go home, tell my dad.

He was always right
behind me in my corner.

He was always right
behind me in my corner.

You know, I don't take
no from no one.

I wanted to be a captain

on a crab boat
in the Bering Sea,

as far back as I can remember.

From my dad coming home

and telling me
stories of crabbing.

My dad had a stroke.

He wants to be here.
He never says it, but,

he wants to be out
here with the boys, still.

I mean, it's really hard
for him. It's hard for me.

And I'm doing it for
the both of us now.

I wouldn't know any
of this without my dad.

I wouldn't be a
fisherman without my dad.

I'm not going to let anybody
take this fishery away.

On the Northwestern...

Because golden king crab

is an open-access
fishery right now,

I want to participate
in that right away.

I'm going to run
down to the dock here.

I'm going to run
down to the dock here.

The guys are going to get
these boxes of frozen cod

and then we can go.

With $2.2
million of golden king crab

ready to harvest
in the derby fishery,

it's a race to
gear-up and ship out.

Well, it's supposed to be.

Well, so this guy is saying

that Johnathan took all of it.

There's no bait here for us.

- I thought they separated it, too.
- They did.

So Northwestern and Time Bandit.

They did, that was the plan.

No, it came from Akutan

and the guy told me
yesterday there was five pallets,

that's two and a half each.

So he took all of them.

Hello, Time Bandit.

Hello, Time Bandit.

Jon, I'm at the OSI dock.

Did you take all
the hanging bait?

No, no. They didn't
put up 10,000 pounds.

They only put out
the 65 that I wanted.

So I took it all these.

They told me I had 10,

but I have six.

So you took the six

and I got nothing?

Yeah, because I ordered,

I special ordered
this a year ago

and then I've been up on them.

And it's only 6,500
pounds of fish.

Yeah, man, sorry
about the mix-up.

Sorry? You me.

I'm not a bad
person, I didn't you.

I thought they gave
me too much fish,

but I found out I
didn't have the fish.

He's so full of.

- I'm going to go out there.
- He's going to find some.

I'm going to kick his
a*s right now.

He block me.

I had to specially have
them put it up for me.

Well, how are we going
to get started with no bait?

Well, how were you going
to get started ten days ago?

It was only two nights ago

I told you I had
some fish for you.

So you didn't have any other
options going on at that time?

So you didn't have any other
options going on at that time?

- Hanging up.
- Yeah.

- I just hung up on them.
- Yeah.

Not listening to that.

- "What are we going to do now?"
- Have a.

- Yeah.
- Well, were you going to do two days ago?

Well, when Sig's talking
to you that's a different deal.

But that crew
member talks to you, off.

- That was Mandy.
- Yeah, I don't care.

She's a crew member.

All right.

You got to start at the dock.

All right.

Fine.

I'll make do.

Across the island,

on the Summer Bay...

Everybody's all
on-edge this year

about ill*gal boats.

You know, because prices
are going to be through the roof.

Former navy engineer

and veteran Bering Sea captain,

"Wild" Bill Wichrowski

prepares for the newly-reopened
eastern bairdi fishery.

A species that will
net him $320,000,

if he catches his quota
in the next five weeks.

If he catches his quota
in the next five weeks.

- Hey, boss.
- How's the freezer look, buddy?

I mean, uh, we got
about 46 pounds of squid

and then we got, like,
50 boxes of herring.

- So, yeah, we're at 920 pounds.
- All right.

We might need a hell
of a lot more than that.

There's a... There's a
captain hitting the beach,

here from the east coast

and she's got some quota.

And I know her?

You probably know of her.

You probably know of her.

Linda Greenlaw.

If one guy doesn't work out,

they stay up and they
complain and whine.

Like, what? We don't know?

You think you're
going to SeaWorld?

Let her rip.

Legendary
east-coast sword fisherman...

Kind of rough going this way.

- Cut it!
- Yeah.

That's the way it is.

And survivor
of the Perfect Storm.

Linda Greenlaw sets her sights

on America's last frontier

and the one sea
she's yet to conquer.

This past summer in Alaska,

four fishing vessels went down

and I was able to acquire quota.

You never really
worked with anybody

- up here before, though.
- No.

No, she doesn't know what
the hell she's getting into.

No, she doesn't know what
the hell she's getting into.

I don't know exactly
what the "Wild"

in the "Wild" Bill pertains to,

but I'm not looking to be

an armchair fisherman.

Me sit at home

and let somebody
else catch my quota.

It's not what I have in mind.

Oh.

Hey, good morning, skipper.

Are you a good swimmer?

Oh, boy. What did I just do?

You know, ultimately
I want what's best for the boat.

You know, more quota
means more money

for captain and crew,
though and I'm all for it.

But I don't know
if I want this to be

the classroom for Linda

and us to be the guinea pigs.

I worry about my guys' safety.

Let's see what happens.

All right. Let's get
this show on the road.

After months of preparation

and tens of thousands of dollars
spent on fuel, food and bait.

We're a little behind schedule.

We're a little behind schedule.

Johnathan, kind of,
double-crossed us.

And we're lucky just
to get these scraps

that we could find.

Bering Sea fleet throws lines.

Yay!

He's showed his colors.

Fantastic!

I'm here to help anyway
I can with my brother.

Whoo-hoo!

We're just going fishing.

Bring it on, giddy up.

Bring it on, giddy up.

All right, guys, let's go.

Yeah!

It's going to be a
hell of a season.

Yeah! Whoo!

-We're ready to leave
here... -Time for flashback.

- For more black cod bait.
- Whoo!

It's a little bit overwhelming

because I can't quite see how

the operations
going to work, yet.

But it's going to get... We're
going to make lots of money.

Come on, JJ, let's go!

We all good back here Jack.

- Yeah, baby!
- Hit it, baby.

I mean, really, I've only pulled

a crab boat off the dock

handful of times.

- Okay, let's go.
- Clear!

You and I, both,
are taking a risk here.

Big risk, big reward, right?

We got a new
guy we got to pick up.

He's fished up here on
a number of good boats.

Hey, how you guys doing?

Jacob...

You came with a
little bit bigger resume

than your stature.

Good things come
in small packages.

- Come on board.
- Thank you, thank you.

Come on board.

The season's
probably going to kick my a*s.

The season's
probably going to kick my a*s.

I haven't single
pot-fished in a while.

But I know that the
recipe to success is

a good attitude
and never giving up.

Take it away!

You wanna stake your claim,

and get as much as
you can while you can.

It's a b*ttlefield out there.

Over 500 miles
northwest of Dutch Harbor,

just south of the
US-Russian border...

One, two, three!

- Whoo!
- Whoo!

Let's go, buddy. Come on.

On the Time Bandit.

This is serious
money. $17.48 a pound.

We're gonna let our gear soak.

30 average once
through the gear.

Boom! There's your season.

Cover some depth.

They're gonna be half
a mile, a mile apart.

They're gonna be half
a mile, a mile apart.

The reunited Brothers Hillstrand

begin setting all 40 pots

into the northern trenches,

bottoming out at 220 fathoms...

Okay. We're gonna need

10 shots. 10 on each one.

Whoo! Sweet.

Home to the
deep-dwelling Golden King Crab.

If a ill*gal
fishing vessel comes in

and, and takes out our one
pot, it doesn't destroy their net.

And, and takes out our one
pot, it doesn't destroy their net.

They don't even care. They'll hang
that sucker in the rigging, like a trophy.

Here we go!

It could well be.

Yep. Northwestern.

You wanna be
sneaky? I'll be sneaky.

You wanna be
sneaky? I'll be sneaky.

We're just gonna add a little
bit more herring to the pot.

Hopefully, uh, it's
enough to get by.

Mixing ground fish with cod,

scrounged last
minute at the dock...

Should we go cork him?

He did steal our bait after all.

Yeah. Give him a
little shot across the bow.

Captain Sig and Mandy

nestle their pots

side by side the Time Bandit
gear, in an act known as corking,

betting the scent of the
Hillstrand's heavily baited pots,

betting the scent of the
Hillstrand's heavily baited pots,

and the crab they attract, will
be split between both their tanks.

Throw
in four of us. I wanna slam 'em.

We got on the bait.

We're just gonna set
Johnathan down right now.

We just came behind them,

we're gonna drop
right next to 'em.

This is 211 fathoms.

Whoo! All right!

Okay, set her when you're ready.

Okay, set her when you're ready.

Going over!

Looking good, guys!

Go away.

Just leave me alone.

I hope this
doesn't ruin our friendship.

Gonna hate each
other the rest of our lives

over some stupid little season.

He's stealth-moding me now.

If I turn and set,

I guarantee he's
gonna turn and set.

- You wanna hit him hard.
- I do.

I wouldn't be so vindictive
if it wasn't for that...

I wouldn't be so vindictive
if it wasn't for that...

hanging up the phone thing.

Whoo-hoo!

If you're set right now,
you, you're corking me.

I don't give a
if your pots' here.

If there's crab, I'm gonna
set, ya peanut-head.

If there's crab, I'm gonna
set, ya peanut-head.

540 miles southeast,

on the eastern bairdi grounds...

Hey, Dad.

Yeah.

I'm calling you for some advice.

54 battle line. What
do you think about that?

Roger. All right.
Thanks a lot, Dad.

I can't wait for that, man.

All right, Dad. I love you.
I'll give you a call tomorrow.

Love you. Bye.

Using intel from his father,

rookie co-captain Jack Bunnell

and veteran skipper
Steve "Harley" Davidson

prepare to drop the
first pots of a season,

and a career.

And a career.

Hooks coming at you Canyon.

- Yep.
- I don't have a lot of control on the winch,

- so...
- Roger.

Hey, get that guy off the stack

without a vest on.

- That's not gonna fly.
- Hey. If we are on

the stack, we gotta
have a life jacket on.

- You got your life jacket on?
- That won't fly.

If you're on deck, you stupid

your hard hats and your vest.

You wanna be a captain...

- Life jackets and hard hats.
- You better teach 'em that every time.

That will not work.

That will not work.

You boys ready for
a spot of the year?

Roger, roger!

Over. Dump it.

Going over.

- Whoo!
- Let's catch some crab!

With a combined 13.7
million pounds of crab and cod,

each boat hunts their prey

over the sprawling 800,000
square-mile grounds.

All right, barbershop quartet.

Get back to work.

Whoo! Let's go!

We've got bairdi to catch,

and we gotta see if we
can get it as fast as possible.

All right, let her go.

Whoo!

All right, we're
just getting to the grounds.

For black cod.

Lay out west.

Long lining is really dangerous,

kind of unpredictable and...

There's a lot to learn out on
deck and up at the wheelhouse.

So... Let's go get some cod.

All right, here's the
first pot for black cod.

Whoo-hoo!

Pot going over!

This has been something I've
wanted to do for a long time,

this Bering sea fishery.

Most of my fishing
career is, uh,

in pursuit of swordfish.

And I'd like to add this
too, sort of to my resume.

On the Summer Bay...

We're fishing
our eastern bairdi.

Not the best conditions, but we
need to get this quota on the boat.

This whole thing's a risk,
coming to the north end.

I think everybody that we
know is fishing down below.

But, uh, it just had better
looking crab on the survey,

and more of 'em.

Starting to get all nautical
out here. Picking up quick.

And let her go.

- Going over!
- First pot. Here we go.

Yeah, baby.

Whoo!

Go, baby!

Go, baby!

I feel like I've never even left
the deck of a crab boat, by golly.

- So, they like the muddy sand bottom.
- Yeah.

Typically, yeah.

And normally,
we put 'em about every, like,

five to the mile.

This is gonna be
two to the mile.

This is... We're trying
to cover a big area

across the depths.

You gotta find 'em to catch 'em.

- Do you mark individual pots?
- Every pot gets a mark.

- Yeah.
- Yeah, let her go.

Hit the left click.

Write down the second
set of numbers. The first two.

All right.

That's pretty much it.

- You wanna set the rest of these?
- Yeah.

All right.

I love hearing
Linda on the hailer.

It's nice to have another
lady voice out here.

- You right on the mark?
- I am, yeah.

Take the cursor
and stick it on the track line

in front of where we're headed,

and then left
click, right click.

I guess you can finish this one.

Anything comes up, let me know.

Whoo!

We got some
big, big rollers coming.

Just keeping my head on as smooth just
wanna get through this last of this year

Going over.

Going over.

The weather's getting wicked.

Still fishable but marginal.

Whoa.

It's not taking it. Every time
I do it, nothing's happening.

I'm double-clicking but
nothing's happening.

I go up here to the
mark on the vessel...

I go up here to the
mark on the vessel...

Double click.

Whoa,

It's not taking it.

Going over.

Look out!

What the!

Whoa.

Whoa, watch
out! Watch out!

Whoa, watch
out! Watch out!

Hold on!

Where's Blaise?

Whoa.

Whoa, watch
out! Watch out!

Hold on!

Where's Blaise?

Oh,

Yeah, his life jacket inflated.

Yeah, his life jacket inflated.

That was a
crazy one. You okay?

- You need help with it off?
- You good?

Yeah, dude.

On the Summer Bay...

Whoa. Holy,
that was a big one.

During Captain
Linda's first set on the Bering sea,

a 20-foot wave blindsides her,

a 20-foot wave blindsides her,

breaking over the port rail,

engulfing deckhand Blaise
Hall in a 90,000 gallon surge,

triggering the immersion sensor

on his automatic life preserver.

, man.

Blaise was just awash. He
was just swimming down there.

I've never seen someone's
life vest inflate on deck.

That one scared
me. Holy dude.

Dude, I didn't know if I was

going over the rail or not.

I've had a few close calls.

Very similar. It's
been awhile, but, uh...

That feeling comes back
immediately, just like it was yesterday.

It's... It's a bad feeling.

That it?

Well, we took
the sea so bad that

Blaise's life
jacket, it inflated.

Blaise's life
jacket, it inflated.

- We're gonna go ahead and switch back.
- Roger.

Take a little
break. Come back.

My concern with Linda is
this is a whole different fishery.

And can't afford to be
putting the boys in harm's way.

You just don't pick
that up overnight.

Time will tell.

55 miles south...

on the Wizard...

I've never bairdi fished
before, so, what's a good...

What's a good pot? What
are the good numbers? 100?

A hundred would be amazing.

If we could see 50s,
40s, we can work off that,

- no problem.
- Okay.

The crew's kind of warming up to
Jacob a little bit, which is a good thing.

The ones that pinch ya
are gonna be a keeper.

'Cause they're fast as hell.

I heard bairdi
were fast and pissed off.

You'll get pinched
probably every pot.

You'll get pinched
probably every pot.

He comes with a long
resume over the last 10 years.

I really hope Jacob can make it

and become a Wizard crewman,
because he's got a lot of potential.

It's been

over a decade since
I fished eastern bairdi.

Over a decade since
I fished eastern bairdi.

We got quota covered all the
way down here to Octopus Head.

We find one good hotspot...

Bang. Man, we'll be in business.

Pow, pow, pow.

After a run in
with an unidentified vessel,

and setting 200 pots
over a variety of depths,

Captain Keith hauls the
first eastern bairdi string...

in nearly a decade.

Hmm, come on.

Be some crab in there.

Be some crab in there.

Oh, yeah. Big.

Look at the
size of these beauties.

That's a sign of life... on
the bairdi fishing grounds.

That's a good thing.

Sixty-nine!

Seventy-four.

Oh, yeah.

Right, we're on
these strings now.

Get these scooped up.

Whoa.

That's hanging.

That's hanging.

We're starting to drop one
side. We're getting a lot of weight.

Okay, just take it
easy. Take it easy.

Hey, chief! You wanna cut it?-

You guys be
really careful, okay?

Because those things take off,

you're going right to the
bottom with that thing.

There's some buoys back there.

Looks like that buoy's gonna
come up underneath the stern here.

Looks like that buoy's gonna
come up underneath the stern here.

Damn.

There's no numbers
on these buoys at all?

You know what? I'm gonna run
outside, take a look, okay Mouse?

- You got this?
- Yeah, I got this.

There's nothing on it at all?

No.

Okay, uh...

It's black, so you
can't see it at night.

Um...

I'm tempted to cut it off, but
let's not do that. Let's uh... Um...

Give me the cork.

Get it, bring it in the house.

I can hog it out inside.

If you want it
inside or this thing...

- Can you do that pretty quick?
- Yeah.

'Cause Mouse is gonna
park this line any second. If you can.

I'll go hog it up.

Using one of
his Coast Guard mandated

search and rescue transmitters,

or SART...

That's glorious.

Keith repurposes the beacon

to tag the unmarked
longline gear,

keeping its owner in his sights.

Is this thing transmitting
on the plotter over there?

Yeah, I see
it on the plotter, yeah.

Here. Let her rip. Right on.

When it starts to move, I'll
know which way the guy's moving.

Let me see that trailer line.

Let me see that trailer line.

Where's that line
the corks were on?

I just do not want
to get tangled up again.

Throw it over, beacon first.

Shots, buoy last,
just like a crab pot.

Yeah, baby!

We'll be seeing them again.

- Well, yeah!
- Whoo!

Right on, guys!
Right on!

Right on, guys!
Right on!

I'm not backing down, period.

Far northwest...

on the remote Golden
King Crab grounds...

There's
our pot, right over here.

Hey, Andy. Come here.

Pull the first one, dude. I'm
coming up on it. Here, get it. Take it.

It's yours.

It's yours.

Get that pot! Get it, we're gonna run
it over, man. You're gonna run it over.

He's gonna run
the first pot over.

Don't it up,
Andy, don't miss it.

We're on the first pot.
That's a half a day's soak.

And that's nothing. But
at the end of the day,

I tell you what, if
there's crab, you'll know.

With their strings
only a 10th of a mile apart,

Northwestern and
Time Bandit captains

approach their combined 80 pots

just south of the
Russian border.

Just south of the
Russian border.

You wanna
see five or six or ten,

and then we know we'll
do good on 'em in 24 hours.

Whoo!

I love the very first part of
the golden king crab season.

It's always anticipation.

Yeah, baby!

Be careful.
Stay out of that bite.

Come on, baby.

Come on, let's see some life!

Yay! Got some.

Oh, yeah?

Yeah, baby!

- Right on. Right on.
- That's all we need, man.

Isn't that nice?

Yeah, baby!

Look at that big guy!

Oh, yeah! That's our
first big golden king crab

going in the pot
right there, baby!

Nick, just set it back.

They found crab, Jon.

That's good, man. Dump 'em back.

Okay, set it back.

Whoo! Whoo!

Look at the rainbow!

Well, well, well!

Captain Andy gets a rainbow.

Jon didn't have no rainbow.

Whitecaps and
rainbows is all there is and

- seagull.
- Pots of gold.

Somewhere between
2500 bird buttholes

and all those whitecaps.

You're
always after me Lucky Charms Jon.

Yeah, baby!

- Yeah, baby!
- Look at that one!

- Niner.
- Yeah.

Wow.

Andy, Serious high five.

Serious high five.

We're dorks.

What do you think,
Russ? Four or five?

I think, uh, three, three.

Only three?

Roger!

Roger!

If it's only three, stack it.

Ay, ay, ay.

That might be a six pot.

They got a little
white cork, Andy?

Uh...

- Yep. I think so, yep.
- Yep. That's Siggy.

He corked us.

Man! Where's our crab at?

Saw that one coming.

Those are Northwestern
buoys there.

Yeah, he got a little
close on that one.

Yeah, he got a little
close on that one.

Sig's got us corked right here.

We got corking.

Three, three.

Three, boss! Three!

So there is our pot right there.

And there is Sig's
pot right there.

So it doesn't benefit any of us,

being this close to each other.

So alls we do is
we split that crab.

Oh, man!

- Phil Blanko and the Janko.
- Yep.

- Blanko el Stanko.
- Phil Blanko, stanko, danko.

We got some guys.

Guys are yelling at each
other. What'd you do, Andy?

I don't know. I see
the door kind of messed up.

We never tie our doors
like that. We never have.

The bait's all eaten.

- We know what that means.
- Base all gone...

there's no crab in the pot.

- Someone's picking our pot...
- Doors are tied different.

Dumping it back
over, taking our crab.

No good.

Is that Sig?

You need to call Sig up, dude.

Seriously.

I mean, I'm...

- They do it all.
- I mean, you don't need to be a detective or nothing

to know when someone opened
your door and your crab are gone.

To know when someone opened
your door and your crab are gone.

Damn it!

On the northern
golden king crab grounds,

aboard the Time Bandit...

Hey, guys...

somebody stole our pots.

There's Sig, on his gear.

That could be Sig.

That he set through
me right here.

It's just very coincidental.

Hi, Sig. It's Andy.

How you doing?

I'm... I'm
not doing good.

Uh.

We just pulled some crab...

and then all of a sudden blank.

And the door is tied different.

- Our door...
- What?

We tie our doors
the same way every time.

These doors were
not tied the same.

It's kind of weird, you know.

We're the only two
guys around here.

Welcome back, I
guess, to the Bering Sea.

Well, that was not me.

Hand on my heart.

Swear... swear to you that
we did not check any pots.

Guaranteed.

It's kind of weird, you know.

I kind of feel violated, man.

I don't see anybody on the AIS,

I don't see anybody out here.

They really think
someone hauled their gear?

I just hate starting
off a season like that,

and we're already paranoid,

you know? I mean, if that's
gonna happen to them,

is it gonna happen to us?

I don't know who was
sneaking around here,

or... or what? Or was it
somebody traveling through?

And they just grabbed a pot.

Who knows.

Uh...

Maybe we oughta just do,
like, a patrol or something

if we're gonna be
going up and down.

You know, maybe
just go, I don't know,

You know, maybe
just go, I don't know,

like, uh, 16, 24 miles
apart, just parallel?

And then just run a grid

while those pots are soaking?

What do you think about that?

If Sig pulled our
gear, he wouldn't prank us.

If he... he would do
something do our pot.

- Yeah.
- And why would you pull our pot

on 10-hour soak when he
got gear right next to us?

It ain't Sig
Hansen, it ain't us.

We're the only ones out here.

We're the only ones out here.

Okay.

Just, you know, try to pick everything
up with the radar that we can.

Yeah.

Okay, I see anything
I'll let you know. For sure.

Okay, well, we'll standby.

See something, say something.

450 miles southeast

on the black cod grounds...

aboard the Saga,

You on this one, Jake?

Yeah, roger.

Some weird stuff
going on around here.

Uh, like Johnathan had some...

Well we think he
had some gear pull.

Have you seen anything,
uh, strange where you're at?

No, I haven't.
It'd be pretty hard

to get to my gear unless
you have the hydraulic power

and everything to get
these long line strings up.

And everything to get
these long line strings up.

I get it. All of
that makes sense.

Well, stay in touch, okay.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Stay safe up there and let
me know if you need anything.

Yeah, roger.

God, that's just weird.

Being out here alone
is spooky enough.

Hopefully, we can
just keep fishing.

The line that I have,

that's my boundary
for how deep I can go.

That's three and a half times the
deepest that I fish for snow crab.

That's three and a half times the
deepest that I fish for snow crab.

So...

I'm already on edge.

Captain Jake
Anderson hunts for a million pounds

of bottom-dwelling black cod.

3000 feet below the surface.

I'm stoked. I'm stoked for
our first pot. It's promising.

Yeah, baby!

Whoo!

Oh.

Oh, my God!

Oh, my God!

That thing is loaded, dude.

Hundred-fifty?

That's pretty damn good.

Damn.

Oh, my God.

Wow.

This is like perfect buffet!

Time for a little
driving lesson.

Time for a little
driving lesson.

Here you go. Hop in the chair.

You want me in the chair?

How are you
gonna be able to do this?

Have a seat.

Please don't leave.

So can you tell
what the tides are doing?

You should already know
what the wind's doing.

Do you?

Uh, tide's at 1...
100... 150 degrees,

Uh, tide's at 1...
100... 150 degrees,

wind's blowing in...

350 degrees.

So you see how
it's going under the boat,

you're gonna wanna turn
and get the slack off the line.

You don't wanna pull
the pots underneath it.

You'll start parting the lines.

All right, roger.

Whoa, just turn
a little starboard there.

Turn a little bit
starboard and just...

keep it from going
under the boat.

Turn, turn, turn, turn!

Turn, turn, turn, turn!

I'm turning the boat right now,

I'm trying to get it
straight into the weather.

All right, there you go.

Now come back around
and get the slack off.

You got some northerly
swells coming in.

Are you blowing
them on to the boat?

Not while I'm in the chair.

It could.

Just keep an eye on the line.

Lever out. Throttle out.

There you go.
You're starting to get it now.

Yeah, look
at that. Look at that!

Holy.

Look at that thing, Bob.

Come on, dude.

Look at that.

Got a pot later to come out.

Got a pot later to come out.

Dude, that's a $6-7000 pot.

They can't even land it.

That thing is huge, dude!

Should we make bets?

I'm guessing,

- uh...
- I don't make bets.

Come on, come on.
Let's bet ten push-ups.

-I bet... -I'm not
doing ten push-ups.

Come on, I bet 210
fish that's what I...

- Two hundred and ten fish? Okay...
- Yeah.

Two hundred and sixty.

Okay.

Look at that.

That is huge but

That is huge but

if that's two hundred and ten

then you're still wrong because
that means the fish are big.

All right,
we got a little bit of a run.

Roger!

Nice job, Bob.

I am just... I... I can't
believe that I'm up here.

I am very excited to be on this
boat and have this opportunity.

He threw me up here and
he was pushing the limits

He threw me up here and
he was pushing the limits

and pushing me out
of my comfort zone.

He noticed that, you know...

that I was worth a damn.

So, I'm so grateful.

You know, I'm doing this for me

because it's what's best
for me and my business but

I think of my dad when
I'm on the boat all the time.

Remember helping him bait tubs
and goo through gear and snaps.

He passed away when I was 13,

and then, uh,

and then, uh,

it was, like, two and a half
years later my mom passed away

from ovarian cancer.

I am just so proud to
be Gary Nielsen's kid,

and that's a man
that I want to live on.

So, I'm going to make
the business successful.

280 miles northeast...

Hey,
Jack. Come on up here.

Aboard the Barbara J...

aboard the Barbara J...

Morning.

How are we looking?

I don't
know. We'll find out.

- Why don't you just give her a ride, dude?
- Yeah?

You... you're here.

- All right.
- Let's see... let's see if you can, uh, drive this beast.

Pops, huh?

Nice.

After gambling their 125 pots

in a muddy family hotspot
known as the Slime Bank...

in a muddy family hotspot
known as the Slime Bank...

All right, guys, we're getting close to
where it says on the plotter this pot is,

so, let's get it done.

Rookie Jack Bunnell learns
if his first haul as captain

has any luck in the muck.

Sometimes the tide
switches it around

and it's not gonna be
exactly where your mark is.

It's, uh...

about 30 seconds out.

It's been soaking for 20 hours.

This opportunity is the most
important thing I've ever had in my life.

I have worked...

all year, every year

since I was a little
boy for this moment.

Coming up!

Remember helping him bait tubs
and go through gear and snaps.

100 miles
northeast of Dutch Harbor,

aboard the Barbara J...

This opportunity is the most
important thing I've ever had in my life.

I have worked...

all year, every year

since I was a little
boy for this moment.

Coming up!

Crabbin' hour, crabbin'
hour, crabbin' hour.

Yeah!

He hit him good.

Whoo-hoo-hoo!

First pot of the season,

looks pretty darn good, it's a
good chuck of crab in there.

Forty-nine crab.

In 29 hours.

My first pot as a captain.

These are bairdi crab.

They got a little zigzag mouth

and red eyes.

Two pots down, we got
two decent pots already.

We spread the stuff
out pretty thin, though.

That's fun fishing.

That's like you're
sneaking up on 'em.

Bang! You know where they live

and now you're sneaking
up on them and then, boom!

Just look at 'em.

- Set back, right?
- Yeah.

Oh,
yeah. That's pretty obvious.

Oh,
yeah. That's pretty obvious.

29-hour soak and you're
pulling in 47, 48, 43...

- Forty-five...
- That's badass.

There's a bundle of crabbers there.

We've been getting
good numbers on there

we're just gonna shove
'em over a half a mile

and fire these right back over.

Let 'em... get 'em
soaking again.

Good volume of crab
underneath us now

and we're gonna try to
exploit that as best as we can.

I want all the gear
in a tight little ball.

That way we can
just roll. Roll, roll, roll.

- There's no room... no more runs.
- Oh!

Look.

I thought we were
the only ones up here.

Quite a bit of boat activity.

That's a lot better!

You can see the freaking rig.

There's one, two,
three of them right there.

I hate draggers.

They do what they
want when they want.

End pots are gone.

Just taken out by a dragger.

Alaska Department of Fish
and Game mandates crabbers and trawlers

employ best efforts to
avoid each other's gear.

But not everyone
plays by the rules.

But not everyone
plays by the rules.

I found the crab and I should
keep the crab and our gear protected.

I think it's time we, uh,

set one of these boulders over.

Whoo!

Roger.

His family hotspot
yielding 46 crab per pot average,

Captain Jack
deploys a roadblock.

Captain Jack
deploys a roadblock.

Watch out!

I gotta go down
and see how this goes.

You gotta be careful with
that launcher, too.

Well be careful.

Hold it steady.

We're gonna set some of these
boulders right on the end of our string

And that way, you know,
we got out boulder here,

pot here, that big
drag comes in...

they might take our pot

but they're definitely picking
that rock up with them.

Trawlers tow
a 30,000 square foot,

Trawlers tow
a 30,000 square foot,

cone shaped net,
along the sea floor.

Running a harvest pattern
over 200 square miles,

at times, overlapping
the crab grounds.

Jack's plan,

protect the Barbara J's gear
by dropping two tons of granite,

near the vulnerable end pots.

Makin sure draggers
respect their claim

or face the business end
of the net-tearing boulders.

All right. Ready.

Really don't want thing to fall
back on us and break our launcher.

Okay, go, go, go. Set the rock.

Going over!

Nice work, boys.

- Whoo!
- Yeah!

We gotta protect our water.

130 miles northeast...

Oh, the weather's crazy
right now, it's bucking.

It is ugly today.

You wanna do this?

Yeah, I'm not gonna
sit on the port side

with a dunce cap
on the rest of the trip.

- You sure?
- Yeah, I'm good.

All right, you can have it.

Just hours after taking

a rogue wave that nearly
swept a man overboard.

- It's all you.
- All right.

Sword fishing
veteran, Linda Greenlaw,

makes her second attempt
at the Summer Bay helm.

First pot coming up.

Well, I want everybody
to succeed on here.

But, uh, not everybody does.

Bering Sea eats people up.

Guess I, uh, I
earned the skepticism

and now I've gotta earn the trust
and the confidence down there.

I'll do it.

Coming up.

Give it a little room and then
when you feel comfortable

get a little tighter.

She's not the first captain
to take a big wave like that.

She's not the first captain
to take a big wave like that.

- You're way off to the port.
- Yeah.

Give it some gas
to the starboard.

Work your way in.

Oh, come on!

Come on, come on,
come on. Starboard.

Gonna have to
be closer than that.

Gonna have to
be closer than that.

We can't be throwing
that far for all the bags.

Especially in this weather.

Make a big circle
and get turned around.

All right.
Coming around on it.

Right there, Landon, coming up.

Come on, you

This is it, man. This is it.

This is it, man. This is it.

Come on, baby.

Come on, baby.

Come on, you

Oh, man.

I don't wanna get too close.

Afraid of getting it in the
wheel, if he does miss.

I was too far away again.

Yeah, sorry, Landon.
I'll get the next one.

Third time's a charm.

- Give it hell. Go after it.
- Right.

Just like that.

Looking good.

Yeah.

Oh, that was better.

Might be able to work with it.

There you go.
You got her. Good job.

That's my girl,
Linda! There we go!

I'm new to the party but
I'm learning the steps.

This is the one we
set in the deep water.

This is the one we
set in the deep water.

Got high hopes for it.

Yeah! Yeah, there we go.

All right, what the number
here baby? Linda's doing good.

Thirty three.

Oh, there's life, we know.

How'd you like that one, Bill?

You're getting it down.

You're getting it down.

You can run me out of
my job, which is okay.

Oh, yeah. That's
looking a little better.

There's a couple there.

Yeah, man. There's
more than a couple.

Well, you know me,
I'm a half... Half...

You are a half empty.

You're half full of

Fifty percent. I'll take that.

530 miles northwest.

On the northern edge of
the Golden King Crab routes.

On the northern edge of
the Golden King Crab routes.

Enterprise,
Time Bandit, channel 16.

Yeah, Enterprise, go ahead.

Yeah, I was just wondering.
We're... We're crabbing over here.

The... Me and the Northwestern.

Just seeing if you're
just travelling there.

Yeah, we're just
kind of jogging right now.

Okay. Okay, thanks.

Good luck to you.

Yeah. Yeah. Thank you.
Yeah, good luck there.

Do you hear me on 16?

Hey, Jonny.

That's the
Enterprise, he's not a crabber is he?

Nah, probably a... You
now, a bottom trawler.

He went straight north.

Now he's going to the northwest.

Roger. So I
think it's working.

Just stay together, you now.

Time Bandit has been
seeing someone messing with their gear.

We all tie our doors the same

and their doors have
been messed with.

As long as we stay parallel.

We're each covering
16 miles on our radar,

so when you combine
the two that's 32 miles.

I think the old guys are
kinda paranoid at this point.

You're kinda on your own
out here, that's the problem.

Hey, I got a beep.

12 miles dark on the radar.

We got one.

So, who the hell is that?

So, who the hell is that?

He's not on my GPS but
he's on the damn radar.

Come check it out.

See that?

Oh, yeah.

He's not over
here but he's there.

- He's not on the AIS?
- It's bugging me.

Yeah, vessel, uh, 12 miles
off my bow heading south,

are you crabbing?
Are you dragging?

This is the Time Bandit.

Uh, Time Bandit
calling to vessel 12 miles

off my bow, heading south.

Are you crabbing?

Are you dragging?

Are you guys fishing?

Something's off.

He's southbound, he's heading
to the east side of the gear.

Got him on radar.

I don't see him on
AIS. I can see you.

And I can see him on the
radar but I don't see him on AIS.

And I can see him on the
radar but I don't see him on AIS.

Yeah, it could be our guy.

Yeah, I'm gonna go
up and investigate.

Copy, copy. Be right behind you.

Andy, get the guys up.
Let's go after this guy.

Yup. You got it.

He said,
"Oh, I'm just drifting here.

I'm broke down,
I'm not fishing."

I mean, what is that?
What's up with that?

Sneaky dragger.

Yeah, "I'm not fishing." He wouldn't
tell me what fisheries he's involved in.

No, you're right. There's
something sneaky about that guy.

I'm gonna keep following him.

Now he's retreating. He turned
around. Now he's headed north.

This guy wants to play
games, let's play games.

Yeah, this
I'm going after this guy.

Do you hear this?

Sounds like Time
Bandit and Northwestern

are chasing a poacher right now.

I can barely make it
out. I just hear yelling.

I can barely make it
out. I just hear yelling.

Calling, fishing vessel
off my bow that's headed north now.

What are you doing? Are you
a crabber or you a dragger?

You see that, Jon?
He's speeding up.

I can see it right on the radar.

- He ain't gonna answer.
- I know.

I'm riding at 1,550,
Andy. I can't ride any harder.

This.

This.

He's getting closer.

I think we're
gonna get a visual.

I wanna know who this guy is.

Oh, man!

What was that?

We hit something.

All right.
We gotta eat a cod.

Bob, bon appetit.

Oh, my God!

An entire Cod intestine.

What is going on down
there? That is disgusting.

Don't make
her eat the whole thing.

Wow.

Ohhh!

- Chew it!
- Don't chew it.

- Chew it!
- Don't chew it.

I wanna puke right now.
Gave me instant heart burn.

That's so gross.

Stop making videos for the Gram.

While the Saga
chokes down wads of cod,

Bob's hazing entails,
some Cod entrails.

Oh, man!

What was that?

I don't see anything.

We hit something.

Get the guys up! Everybody.

All right, get up.
We hit something.

I think there's
something in the wheel.

Damn it!

He's running from me.

We're pinging him on the
radar. I mean, I got a blip.

Come on, brother.

Send to Freddie
to the bow, Neal.

Try to get the numbers off
this boat if we get close enough.

Yeah.

I'm not losing this guy.

Come on, boys.

Freddie, Jon wants
you on deck, man.

You see anything back there?

Yeah, there's a bag.

Yeah, there's a bag.

Got a line on the wheel.

I got it. Got 'em tight though.

Hey, can you still pick
me up on the radio here?

I'm about eight miles off him
now. I'mma be coming in fast.

I got something in the wheel. I
don't know what the hell is going on.

Do you need help?

We're still trying
to figure it out, Jonny.

Hey, Sig, you got me?

Hey, Sig, you got me?

Sig, you got me. This is Saga.

I'm gonna keep following.

I'm gonna red line him, Neal.

- Those all our buoys?
- Those are all our buoys.

- You got me?
- Yeah, we got you.

Okay, back up slow, Robbie.

Oh, my, God.

This isn't a game anymore.

I got this thing redlined, to
1,600 RPM. So I'm catching him.

You got it?

I got it.

Is that a garbage bag?

Yeah, a garbage bag, over it.

What's the numbers?

No numbers! Blind bag!

I'm getting close.

This the guy.

This is the guy that's
been doing out here.

Oh, come on!

That's not doing
any good either.

It's stuck. Stuck bad.
It's tied to the block.

Oh!

Norm, I got no gearbox.

No forward, no reverse. Nothing.

I'm right on you, buddy.

I'm right on you, buddy.

I'm gonna eat your lunch, boy.

Come on, Jon. Let's go.

Come on, baby, come on, girl.

You on there,
Jon? You get me?

Yeah, I... I got you.
Yeah, go ahead.

I'm dead in the water.

I can't get the boat in gear.

I mean, I am literally
dead in the water.

You need help?

I might need a tow.

Aw, man.

Call it.

All right, Sig, I'm
headed towards you.

Son of a b*tch.

I need some answers, please!

Hey! Somebody talk to me!

Hey! Somebody talk to me!

It's fine. Just keep it out
of gear. Norman's working on it.

All right.

What's it look like?

Just got something in the wheel.

It's a huge trawling
net, right here.

Huge, huge gauze net.

Looks pretty deliberate.

What do wanna do?

Hey, Jon, you got
any empty drums over there?

Yeah, I got a... I got a few.

Lash 'em together for me.
I'll explain it when you get here.

What?

Well, I'm thinking of
sending a message.

I'm in.

Hey, Clark, those
drums over there...

Hey, Clark, those
drums over there...

Yeah?

Get some line,

lash 'em up.

Grab every pallet we got,

stack the pallets on top.

And get that damn net

and douse it with as
much fuel as you can find.

Okay, guys, we're
gonna drop this off.

All right, boss.

Let's go.

You know, it's enough.
Enough is enough.

You know, it's enough.
Enough is enough.

All right, Jonny.

Light it up!

Yeah,
baby. Light it up.

- Yeah!
- Yeah!

There it goes!

Burn, baby!

Burn!

Sending a damn message.

That's your nets burning

Get out of our waters.

Hell, yeah!

Be happy it's just your nets.

This thing, you're
gonna see it for 15 miles.

They're gonna see it.

Not on our waters.

Not on our waters, man.

ill*gal fishing has
just gotten out hand.

We're the front line and
we're not gonna stand for this.

Buoy's all popped.

Dude, someone shot it.

I'll be damned
if I let anyone else

take what's ours.

Yeah!

I love red,
white, blue. I love America.

Try to take this flag

I'd like to be the first
Black, American captain.

You just cost me a

How do you know that was me...

I know it's you!

Plus all the competition
within the fleet...

What the is
going on over there, Jake?

It's a recipe for disaster.

What out! Whoa!

Oh, watch out!

Oh,

Oh,

Oh, my, God!

Oh, watch out!

Whoa!

Here it comes. Watch
out, watch out, watch out.

Oh, you son of a b*tch!

Jake. Stay with me,
man. Stay with me.
