01x02 - Wham Bam, Beware of the Clam - The Day the Ocean Disappeared

Post by bunniefuu »

From out of the pages of DC Comics comes

the world's newest and greatest

superhero, Plastic Man. He

can spring, he can stretch,

he can fly, he can bounce,

he can change his shape,

and he can even dance.

Each week, Plastic Man will face the

world's greatest collection of villains.

There's action. There's

comedy.

There's danger.

There's penny. There's bad

luck cooler.

There's plenty for everybody on the

Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Show.

Eat your heart out, eight men.

I've got a sonar reading on the Sargasso

Queen, bearing

well. Full speed ahead.

Aye, aye, captain.

Prepare to surface! That

defenseless freighter is about to be

pirated by the clan. We're

being attacked by the clan sub. Abandon

ship!

Grouper, transfer the cargo from the

freighter's hold. Aye, clam.

Everything's aboard, Clam. Good work,

Kruper. I've had enough of this

small-time piracy. From now on,

my raiding plans are big, big, big! How

are we gonna do that, Clam? The

Chinese have invented a super hydro

manipulator that enables them to control

water and make it do whatever they want.

So what?So what, you fish brain?

We're going to steal it. Then we'll flood

the Earth Cities and raid them from

underwater. Just think, I,

the Clam, will become the greatest

pirate in all history!

Ah,

nothing like a relaxing stream. With

rotten reel, especially for us expert

fishermen from Hawaii. No fish in his

right mind could possibly resist my fresh

Hawaiian bait.

Ohh Look,

I got one. Hey, Plas, you haven't any

action?Nope, nothing.

Speaking of action, I think this is my

chance. See, Plas, it

sure is swell to be alone in the woods.

Especially with you. Penny, I'm...

I'm feeling something strange. Oh,

Plas, you finally realized how much I

care about you. No, I'm feeling

something on my big toe. I think it's a

bite. Oh, it looks like he's more

interested in that old fish than me.

It's Le Chief. Well, I hope I'm not

interrupting anything important. Don't

give it another thought, Chief. We were

just fishing. Speaking of fishing, that's

just what you'll have to do on this next

assignment. It seems the nefarious clam

has struck again. The clam?Yes.

And worse than that, we found out he's

after the top secret super hydro

manipulator. He was last seen in the

Sargasso Sea. Catch him, plastic man,

or you'll catch one from me.

How can I refuse her when she puts it so

sweetly?

We're over the Sargasso sea class.

Crumbling coconuts. How are we ever going

to find a clam in that mess of seaweed?

Simple. I'll become a plastic periscope

in reverse.

There it is.

A periscope.

Take her down, Penny. We haven't got a

moment to lose.

Quick, into the mini-sub.

There's all that little old clam's done

now, player. I'll show the clam he can't

escape the long arm of the law. Hey,

what's going on?It's Plastic Man.

I'll teach him not to fool with me.

Ready, clam torpedoes. Tubes one and two.

Ready, clam. Fire! Don't

look loud, but there's two torpedoes

coming our way. Oh, I can't steer

clear, Playas. Let go of the clam sub.

Whoa! We're free! Quick, get us out of

here. Jump and Mahi

Mahi, they're getting away. Not if I can

help it. Hang on! That

plastic pest is gaining on us.

We're gonna catch him, Plaz. Luck is with

us.

You were right, Hula Hula. Luck was

with us. You're bad luck.

We've lost him, clam. Excellent. Now,

set the course for Hong Kong. We're going

after the super hydro manipulator.

Now that the clam's given us a slip,

what's our next move?Well, since we can't

catch that crafty clam, I've got a plan

to out-f*ck him. Get us to Hong Kong,

Penny, and fast.

I just found out that Plastic Man has

already arrived here in Hong Kong. He's

planning a secret meeting with the

Chinese officials. They're going to ship

the Super Hydro Manipulator out of Hong

Kong Harbor to the United States.

But when, Cap'n Clam? And on what ship?

That's precisely what we have to find

out. And I know just how to do

it.

It is of vital importance that this

mission be of utmost secrecy. But first,

we will show you why we must be careful.

With proper guidance, this device can

bring water to otherwise barren land.

But in the wrong hands, it could be

disastrous.

Suffering surface. A gizmo like that

could flood an entire city. And that's

exactly why we have to keep it away from

the clam. Your dinner, gentlemen. Oh,

boy. Clam chowder, my

favorite.

Gentlemen, I think I know how we can get

the device back to the United States and

fool the clam. We'll announce that the

Navy's taking the device in a heavily

guarded convoy of ships, while in fact.

The three of us will take the super hydro

manipulator in an old fishing boat and

leave at dawn. Why don't we use our

plane, class?Because the clam spies will

probably be watching it. They'll never

suspect we're going by boat. An excellent

plan, Plastic Man. Yes, an

excellent plan, Plastic Man. The

clam will never suspect it. Hmm

Boy, that was good. I think I'll have

some more.

Whoa! A clam! A wise

guy, huh

Thanks, fool. You haven't seen the last

of the clam.

I set a course for San Francisco class.

It looks like we'll be cooped up in this

small little boat for five whole days.

Don't worry, Penny. Old Hula Hula will be

close by to keep you company. I was

afraid of that. I think I'll take a look

off the bow, just to make sure there's no

signs of trouble.

All clear. Looks like my clever plan

totally fooled the clam.

That flexible thing doesn't suspect a

thing.

Proceed with the clam plan.

No need to keep looking any longer. Might

as well stretch back, stretch out, and

enjoy the trip. Well, guys, we can all

relax. No sign of the clam anywhere.

Whoa! Hey!

This super plastic hardener will keep

Plastic Man from doing any stretching,

clam. So, Plastic Man, you thought you

could outsmart me, did you?Well, now

that you mention it, yes. Not funny,

plastic man. You might have been able to

stretch your body, but you can't stretch

it or your life out any

longer. Grouper, prepare the

torpedo tubes! Hi, Clam! Mother of

Maui! We're in trouble! Don't tell me

you're gonna fire us from the torpedo

tubes! That's precisely what I'm going to

do. I thought I told you not to tell me

that. And now that I've got the super

hydro manipulator,I can flood the

world cities and pirate them at my

leisure. Have a pleasant

journey. It will be your

last.

Jump on hula hoops. This giant squid

wants us for its lunch. We've

got one chance, class. My shoe is

equipped with a mini bottle of super hot

chili sauce. This is no time to think

about making tacos, Penny. Not tacos,

class. One sip of that hot sauce will

melt the plastic hardener. I'll be back

to my stretchy self.

Come on, Hula Hula. Let's get out of

here. I

think he's got me outnumbered in the arm

wrestling department.

Hey, that's some knot. I wonder what

scout group he belongs to.

By the time he gets out of that, I'll be

out of the Pacific. Blast.

You're OK. Don't worry, Penny. Ain't

nothing wrong with me. A little ringing

out won't handle. But what about the clam?

He's escaped with a Hydro Super Husa

Salter Lader. Right, Hula Hula. And we've

got to find out what city he plans to

flood first and stop him. Never fear.

Hula Hula is here. We'll go back to Hong

Kong. I have a plan.

Oh, are you sure we can get the

information we need in this waterfront

tavern, Hula Hula?Sure, I'm sure. I

have contacts all over the world.

Besides, Louie the bartender is a pal of

mine, and this clever disguise will keep

any of the clam's friends from

recognizing me.

Hi, friend. Oh, hiya, Hula

Hula. You don't know me, Louie.

Ohh I get it. I don't know you. Let me

have a glass of milk. Straight. Sure

thing, Hula. Now

listen closely. I need some information

about the clam. The clam?

That's right. I hear he

plans to flood a major city, and I I need

to know which one. Last I hide, the

clam was headed for New York. Thanks,

Louie. Thanks,

friend. You've been a big help.

I did it, class. Nice work, Hula Hula.

Now all we have to do is get the clam

before he gets to New York. Calling the

clam. Come in, clam. This

is the clam. I read you. I

just overheard Plastic Man's cow. They

know you're headed for New York. So,

Plastic Man escaped. Well, don't

worry. I know just how to take care of

that plastic pest.

We're 20 minutes out of New York now,

class. Good. As soon as we get there,

we'll have a surprise clam bake for the

clam. Speaking

of clammy, it's the chief. Well,

Plastic Man, I see you haven't caught the

clam yet. Don't give it another thought,

Chief. Your plastic patriot is hot

on the clam's trail. We'll have him

cornered in New York City any minute. I

doubt it. What's the matter, Chief?Don't

you trust me?Frankly, no.

Besides, he's not going to New York. We

just got word that he's been spotted off

the coast of Italy. See that you get

there before he unleashes the

Mediterranean over Europe. And no more

flip-ups. Right, Chief?

Quick, change course to Italy. Roger.

That flexible thing will be thousands of

miles away by the time New York is

underwater.

The flooding of New York awaits your

command, Captain. Well done.

Soon the name of the clam will go down in

history with Blackbeard and Captain

Hook. Flood the city!

Aye, Captain! Activating Super Hydro

Manipulator!

Look, a tidal wave. Run for your lives.

The water's rising fast. Everybody

evacuate the city.

Excellent. Atlantis is no

longer the only sunken city. She has

just been joined by the lost city of

New York.

Gee, class, we've been flying over Italy

for hours, and there's no sign of the

clam anywhere. I have a feeling that

fishy fiend has tricked us. Quick, Penny,

set a course for New York. We haven't a

moment to lose. Right, class.

We're outside the First National Bank,

Captain Clam. Good. Ready the

airlock.

Now that the city is deserted, we can

pick it clean.

I'll have it open in a snap, Clam.

Wow, there must be a million clams. Uh, I

mean bucks. Quick,

stash the cash. We've got a couple dozen

more banks and jewelry stores to clean

up. And with Plastic Man on the

other end of the world, nothing can stop

us.

I don't get it, Plas. According to the

map, we're over New York. But there's

nothing down there except water. That's

New York, all right. Take her down,Penny.

Hurry. Let's get into our scuba gear.

We've got to stop the clam.

No sign of the clam yet.

Clam, look. It's Plastic Man.

Curses. Quick, back to the clam soap.

Class, there they are. And they're

getting away. Nonsense. They don't look

more than an arm's length away to me.

Over here, class. Keep an eye on them.

I'll take care of the clams.

I've got to ditch him. All right,

Clam, I know you're in here.

OK, you puny pirate. I know you're hiding

around here somewhere.

Give it up, Blasty Puss! You'll never

catch the clam! That's what you think,

Clam!

You're trapped, Clam! I'm taking you in!

Hmm,

looks like I fell for the old clam in

front of the open safe trap.

That's the last we'll be seeing of

plastic man.

Oh, no! Any second and I'll be a plastic

pancake. Wait a minute. What am I so

worried about?I'm in water.

Shells, he's still on my trail. I've

got to get back to the clams, sir.

He's getting away. This is a job for the

plastic plunger.

Now to drain the city and pull the plug

on the clam.

Now that the clam and his henchmen are in

the hands of the authorities, the world

can rest a little easier.

Are you the one who caught the clam?Yep,

that's me, all right. I'm Inspector

Briggs of the Fish and Game Department.

Oh, well, I'll bet you want to thank me

for draining the fish out of the city.

No, I want to give you this, a

citation for clam hunting without a

license. I don't suppose it'd be any use

to try to talk my way out of this one.

Uh, Warden, oh, wait. Well, you can't

win 'em all.

Once more, my evil genius

triumphs! After I've vaporized and

bottled the Gulf of Mexico, I'll move on

to the other seas and oceans!

I'll change the face of the world!

I've been one in the Cedis movie for a

long time. Me too, Hula Hula. I hear the

hero looks just like you players.

Really?The Chief.

There's trouble in the Mobile, Alabama

harbor. We don't have all the details,

but we think Dr. Honktoff's behind it.

Honktoff? What's his twisted mind up to

this time? That's what I want you to find

out. So get there fast.

You heard the Chief, team. Let's get to

the plaster jet. You should be

able to see the harbor now, Plas. I see

it all right, Penny. And we've got bigger

trouble than I expected. Smoke and

volcanoes, Plas. The water, it's all

gone.

Better set her down, Penny.

Plas, look. The

Gulf of Mexico, empty.

Plas, a newt.

To whom it may concern. And it

concerns everyone. No power can

withstand me. Sign Dr.

Honktoff. What does he want?

What every tyrant wants, Penny. More than

his fair share. But let's get back to the

plastic jet. I want to talk to the chief.

The Gulf of Mexico. All

mine! But what next?The

Caribbean or the Atlantic Ocean? We'll let

science decide.

Ah, the Caribbean. Good. And

perhaps there I'll again meet my

plastic nemesis. I'll be ready for you,

plastic man.

Oh, the Caribbean is such a lovely

sea. Yeah, we should be able to spot that

mystery ship the Chief told us about

pretty easily. Look down there.

Puffs and pineapples. A giant

hydrofoil. Hover over it, Penny.

Hulu Hulu and I go down and take a look.

Well, Dr. Huntoff, we meet

again. Ah, Plastic

Man, I've been expecting you.

Expecting. Of course. After the

disappearance of the Gulf of Mexico, whom

else could the world turn to for help?

Still, I'm curious how I make the

water disappear. More or less. You

see that specially designed blast furnace

there?Utilizing my unique secret

fuel, I am able to develop

unbelievable pressures when our giant

suction pumps suck in the seawater. It

is immediately vaporized and compressed

into this.

Soon, all the seas of the world will be

neatly bottled here in my little

laboratory.

As fiendish a plan as I've ever

uncovered. And unstoppable.

Not quite. What?My

invisible force shield, plastic man.

You may be protected from me, but without

that special fuel, your diabolical dream

is doomed.

And once I have this analyzed, your

supplies will be cut off forever. Bogus

men, seize them! After

them!

Put this on. Me?They won't recognize you.

You've got to stay behind, Hula Hula.

Find out how to foil Hong-Toff's force

shield. Then I can get to him. You can

count on me, Plaz. The

bogus men! You distract them. I'll get

this fuel back to the Plaster Jet.

It's plastic. Plastic?

Our lab has analyzed it thoroughly. Well,

I've got a plan to stop him. Only I'll

have to know the location of the largest

plastic factory in the country. You'll

have it by computer printout. I just hope

Hula Hula's all right. Don't worry,

Penny. In his disguise, he'll never be

caught.

Me and my bad luck

caught. What are you going to do with all

these oceans once you've got them? Why,

put them in the desert, of course.

Countries will pay plenty for an ocean of

their own. But first, we must

replenish our power source.

Bogusman, there is a special assignment

tonight. I sure

hope we get to the plastics factory on

time. Don't worry, Penny. My plastic

plans seldom fail.

Well, we weren't a moment too soon.

There'll be no more purloined plastics

tonight.

They're getting away! Relax, Penny. We'll

have the last laugh when Dr. Honk-Toff

sees what's in those sacks. But we're all

tied up. Then it's time for the old

spaghetti bit.

Pretty nifty players. But what about

Poodle Hoola? As soon as he's discovered

how to foil the force shield, he'll

contact us.

Rocks. Worthless rocks.

It seems your plastic friend has tricked

me. It won't be the last time, either.

That acrylic fool will soon learn.

Plastic is as plastic does.

Plaz, I hope you can hear me, because I

don't have much time. It's Hula Hula. Dr.

Huntoff's ship is hidden in a secret

grotto. I'm going to leave the radio beam

on so you can zero in on it. Please help,

Plaz. Quick! Full

speed ahead and stay on the beam.

The signal's so loud, we must be almost

on top of them. Right on, Penny. Look,

unless I'm out of my plastic mind, that's

the opening of a grotto down there.

Your dull friends are taking longer than

I thought. Wrong, Dr. Hontoff! So,

at last you have fallen into my trap!

Trap?Ples, I hope you can hear

me. You! It wasn't me, Ples. He

just made it sound like me, honest. It's

notNo, it's his

fiendish mind. Not fiendish

plastic man. Brilliant.

Meaning?Meaning, plastic man. I must

have a super source of plastic power.

The only source of super plastic power.

Players. He means

you. No way, Dr. Hongtok.

Yes, plastic man, my way.

I can't. Move! I'm

helpless! Bogusman! Place

him on the conveyor! Are they

all gone?I think so. They're getting

ready to vaporize the Pacific Ocean.

Can't you move it, though, class? No,

wait. Yes, I think I

can move the tip of my nose.

If you can guide me,

maybe I can stretch my nose to

reach the turn-off switch. Left a

little. Down a little.

Too much. Up! Down. More

left! Back.

Oh, that was close. As soon as this ray

wears off, I'll get us all out of here.

Well, we're safe. But what about

Dr. Hawkdog?I saved a little

surprise for him. I think the evil doctor

is about to get a dose of his own

medicine.

Plastic Man! Plastic Man, stop!

Stop the water!

We'll never get out!

Well, class, Dr. Honkdok's in jail,

and everything's back to normal,

including the ocean. Hey,

guys, look what I found. Hola, hola.

Don't open that in here. Why not? It's

just a bottle of soda pop.
