01x09 - The Maniacal Computerhead - The Hippotist

Post by bunniefuu »

From out of the pages of DC Comics comes

the world's newest and greatest

superhero, Plastic Man. He can

spring, he can stretch,

he can fly, he can bounce,

he can change his shape,

and he can even dance.

Each week, Plastic Man will face the

world's greatest. the greatest collection

of villains.

There's action. There's

comedy.

There's danger.

There's penny. There's bad luck.

There's plenty

for everybody on the Plastic Man Comedy

Adventure Show.

Eat your heart out, Amen!

Hey, what's going on?Get-- get

away! Please!

Man is such a weak creature.

And this is only the beginning. From now

on, machines will rule the earth, and man

will be our servant.

Boy, being a superhero sure gets your

clothes dirty. You know, class, if you

were married, you wouldn't have to do

your own laundry. HmmI can't see how

being married keeps your clothes from

getting dirty. Now, where's that soap?

Soap?I'll get it.

I know it's here someplace.

I got it, class!

Oh, no! Here comes old Jinx!

I should have known things were going too

smoothly.

I'm sorry, Plaz.

Hate to hang you up like this, Plaz, but

you should be dry in a jiffy.

It's the Chief. I always suspected you

were washed up. Now I know it. Uh, hi,

Chief. We were just... No time for idle

chit-chat. We've got big... Big

trouble. Computer Head has struck. You

mean that warped, maniacal,

diabolical, vengeful-minded computer?

I study up on my villains. That's right.

And Computer Head has started a

revolution. Machines all over the world

are turning against man and making them

serve machines. You've got to stop him.

Now. Chief, uh, can this wait a few

minutes?And why?Uh, well, you

see, I still got another 10 minutes to

dry out, and... Get going!

You heard her. Let's go!

I just hope we can find Computer Head

before he causes any more trouble.

I've got half the city under my control.

And now to finish the job.

Hey, put me down! You're not supposed to

do this!

There will be no peace in the city

tonight. Fill her up, Roy.

Stay back. Please stop.

No,

no

Hey, what are you doing?Put me down.

Help! Oh, go away! Help!

Help

No!

Jumping Java nuts. Machines are going

berserk all over the city. That

means computer heads somewhere near.

Penny, see if you can pick up any strong

electronic pulses.

Class, I got something. It's coming from

the Metropolitan Building. Better keep

the plaster jet a safe distance. It could

be turned against us.

I'll handle things with computer head.

My molecular reconstruction ray is

working perfectly. But this portable

model is not fast enough. My

full-scale version will be ready soon,

and I'll be able to give life to all

machines safely from my secret

hideout, where no man will be able to

stop me!

Your diodes are numbered, computer head.

Plastic man, you can't stop me!

And nothing can stop my ring! I

think I would have preferred the stairs.

Eat your heart out, Batman!

I think Plass needs our help. Hula Hula,

with your bad luck, you'll only make it

worse. Plass can take care of

himself. Yeah, you're probably right.

Some help I am.

Oh, I'm just glad I remembered to order

extra cushions on these seats.

Give up?I've no time for your silly

games.

No one can stop me, Plastic Man.

I'm invincible. But fortunately,

your friends aren't.

Oh, no! Need for

help! I think your partners need

assistance, plastic fool! You're the

most evil and demented creature I've come

up against, computer head. Thank you.

Now we can make our escape thanks to

man's pathetic loyalty to one another.

And that's exactly what would be their

downfall!

This calls for some quick plastic pliers.

Oh, Plas, you're a

hero. How can I ever

repay you?There is one way.

Yes, yesGet in that jet,

Penny, and fly like you've never flown

before. We've got a computer to catch.

Roger.

Where to, sir?First and main.

My plan is working perfectly. Now

man is in his proper place, serving

us the machines.

But I have one problem. I need to be

maintained. I know of only one person who

can do this, a brilliant scientist by the

name of Dr. Akido. You

must find him and bring him to me.

But human minds grow old, and

I can't let that happen. So when Dr.

Akido is brought back, I'm going to turn

him into a computerJust like

me. And then I'll be able to

rule the world for all

eternity!

Gee, if Computer Head was still in the

city, we would have picked him up by now.

He's a slippery devil.

Speaking of the devil, it's the chief.

Well, Plastic Fingers, I see you let

Computer Head slip away. Only

temporarily, Chief. Just like your job's

going to be if you don't catch him. We

just got word that Dr. Akito, an

electronic genius, knows Computer Head's

one weakness. He's alone in Hawaii and

could be in danger. You've got to get to

him. You've got nothing to worry about,

Chief, as long as I'm on the case. Uh,

Chief?Uh, chief?You

spoke too soon, plastic man. From now on,

you're going to take orders from me.

We've got no time to lose. We've got to

get to Hawaii and find Dr. Akito before

it's too late. We're on our way.

Oh, boy, Hawaii's my stomping

grounds. We would never have

known. According to the

computer, Dr. Akito's office is on the

military base. We're over there now.

I'm taking her down.

Seems a little quiet. Looks spooky,

too. Hey, look, we've got a

welcoming committee. But there's nobody

in those vehicles. And I don't think

we're too welcome either. Looks to me

like Computer Head's also after Dr.

Akito.

Oh, this is it. We're

going to be devoured by that machine.

Something tells me I'm not going to be

able to talk my way out of this.

I think this calls for a sure-fire

plan.

Made it! Let's hope we're in time. Help!

Help Somebody help! Don't

panic, Dr. Aikido! Plastic Man.

Step back. I'll handle those mean

machines.

Thanks, Plastic Man. I thought I was a

goner. You're not safe yet, Doctor. We

got word that Computer Head is after you.

More machines. Help!

Plaz, you've got to get up.

Help! Help Oh

no, they flattened him like apizza.

Class, say something. Speak to

us. Easy on the pepperoni. Ooh,

class, be serious. They got away with

Dr. Aquito. Right. Forget the

pepperoni and scrape me up. We're going

to town. Maybe we can find some

information there.

You sure these cardboard cutouts are

gonna work?There's nothing to worry

about, Hula. These disguises are

absolutely perfect. I

hope. Come on, let's go inside.

Hula, Hula. You always know somebody. See

if you can find out any information.

Meanwhile, Penny and I will check things

out over here. Right.

Baby fella, you look real cool. Sorry,

he's with me. Uh, duty first,

Penny. She may know something. Care to

dance?Oh, that's music to my

ears.

Being stood up for a jukebox.

Bet you wouldn't believe I never had a

dance lesson. I knew I'd know somebody.

Hey, Groovy Tube, my old pal!

Ohh How'd you recognize me?It's been

years. I never forget a picture tube.

Listen, I'm undercover and I need some

information and I'm willing to pay for

it. Wow, batteries.

Well, looks like Kula Hola had paid her.

Sorry, Hula Hula, old buddy, but it's

awfully hard to be light on your feet

with 20 pounds of frozen chickens in your

chest. Don't give it another thought,

Plaz. I got all the info we need. Good.

Now let's get out of these disguises and

get on to finding Computer Head.

According to your info, Hula Hula,

Computer Head's hideout should be right

on this island, a remote volcano only

accessible by air. I just hope we're not

too late.

So, Plastic Man thinks he can outsmart

me, does he?I'll fit him for

good this time.

Plants! The jet! Something's

wrong! Oh, it's not

responding! I was afraid of

this. Computer Head is using his power on

our own jet. We've got to bail out.

Fire the ejection station.

Hey, the ejection seat threw us out

without a parachute. I should have known.

It's also under Computer Head's power.

Now we're falling. No

problem. I'll make myself into a plastic

lighter.

I knew our luck couldn't hold out with me

aboard. Look, my own jet's

after us.

Phew, that was close.

As soon as our plastic vest is destroyed

by his own jet, I'll perform our little

operation. Turning you

into a computer head like

myself.

I'll drop you two safely on a ledge, then

I'll lure the jet away and join you

later. There's

only one way to stop that jet. When it

can't see, it can't get. I'll stretch

myself out so thin, I'll be

microscopic.

And to think I've known that jet since he

was a tot.

Come on, this way.

Now for your finest hour, Dr. Akido.

Why struggle?In 20 seconds,

you will be given a new life.

Yes, a new life as a

computer.

What do we do?He's the only one who

knows computer has weakness. I've got to

get down there quick. I'll form myself

into a flying disk, Hula Hula, and you

throw me down there.

Thank goodness, Plastic Man. I'll have

you out in no time, Doctor.

What a lucky throw.

Thanks, Plastic Man. Hurry, Doctor. I

can't hold this dome up much longer.

I should have known anything I threw

wouldn't be lucky.

I can't bet a look. My buddy

Plasm.

It's

all over! Now to reveal our transformed

doctor. I never thought it would end this

way for bless.

What kind of trickery is this?

Surprise! Plastic man!It'll

take more than your machines to change

me. After him!

He'll never get me!

Oh, way to go, Plas! My hero!

Yeah, Plas! I knew you'd do it! No

time for cheers, Hula Hula. We gotta get

Computer Head. This program card will

turn him off for good. Now to deprogram

that computer. You're through,

computer head. You underrate

me, plastic jerk.

The program card's destroyed.

That card was your only hope, plastic

fool.

Lucky I'm plastic. This impression is as

good as the real thing.

When will man learn they are so inferior?

Machines are

superior. Man

is inferior.

Well, Plaz, you really pulled the plug on

this one. Yeah, but in a way, I feel kind

of sorry. Why's that, Plaz?He would have

made a heck of a pinball machine.

Everything is back to normal and computer

head is finished. I did good, huh, Chief?

I'd say more like fair. Oh, by the

way, Chief, I didn't get my paycheck this

week. Don't worry, plastic man.

Probably just a computer error.

Give me back my quarter. It's just a

machine, Hula Hula. It's got no mind of

its own. Come on, you

dumb machine. Let's have some soda pop.

Well, at least it listens.

Ah, here's the next one. Right on

time. Here you are,

master. Thank you, Mr. Johnson.

When you return to the bank, you won't

remember any of this. Yes,

master. Hurry, Hippo, open

it! Patience, Bubbles!

Oh, hippie! The jewels are all yours,

my dear. All I want is this.

What is it?Part of the combination to the

vault containing the famous Nairobi

Ruby. But there are plenty of jewels in

here. What's another ruby? This is no

ordinary gem, my dear. The

Nairobi Rui has the mysterious power to

put thousands under a trance at once.

When Mr. Jones here returns with a final

number to the combination, all that power

will be mine. With it, I can

rule the world.

Come on, Penny. Pitch the old pineapple

in here. I'll knock it over the fence.

OK, here goes. That's over the

fence for sure.

Oh, no. What luck. Now for the play

at the plate.

You're out. Reggie Jackson,

eat your heart up. Oh,

the chief. I hate to break up your little

game, Plastic Man, but three of United

Federal's most trusted men just robbed

their own bank. Sounds weird. What's

going on?That's what I want you to find

out. Now get going. You heard our

g*ng. Let's go.

I'm sorry, Plastic Man. I can't remember

a thing. Try, Mr. Johnson. You must

recall something. Well, the last thing I

remember is receiving a bright red

box. What was in it?This?

Oh, how cute. After that,

everything's a blank. Of course. The old

stuffed hippopotamus and the bright red

box trick. I should have known. What does

it mean, Plaz?I don't have the slightest

idea, Hola, but let's get it back to the

plaster jet and have it analyzed. What do

the computers say, Chief? They say whoever

holds that stuffed animal can be

hypnotized by it.

We've discovered the hypotist is behind

this scheme. The hypotist.

Great work, Chief. How do you know?Look

on the bottom of the animal, Super Brain.

Complements of the hypotist.

We believe the hypnotist is after the

Nairobi Ruby. If he gets it, he'll have

enormous power. It's up to you to

stop him. Right, Chief. It's hard to

believe such a cute little thing could

cause so much trouble. Hard to believe,

but true. Now

I can get rid of that plastic menace once

and for all. What are you gonna do, hippy?

Put Plastic Man under a trance, too?Not

Plastic Man, my simple one. His

bad luckSidekick, if I can get Hula

Hula alone, I'll make him lead Plastic

Man into its wrap from which he'll never

return. Plastic

Man?This is the hypotist.

Leap on luaus. It's talking. This

is Plastic Man. Go ahead. Right now,

the ambassador for Nairobi is locked in

the security room at the African Embassy.

That's where the Nairobi ruby is kept.

Correct. In exactly 5 minutes, my

hypno-gas will make him my puppet.

And you'll get him to steal the ruby for

you. Try to stop me if you can.

Holy sugar cane. What are we gonna do?

Plas, I've got just what we need in here.

Okay, Penny, let's go. Ula, you stay here

in case the hypnotist calls back. Right,

Plas?Hop in, Penny.

Let's not forget that seatbelt.

I can't get out. Someone help me.

This door is solid steel. Don't worry, my

plastic hero. That won't stop Lisa the

mechanical ladybug. Go

get him, Lisa.

Good work, Lisa. She

never fails. If

I can contact the hypotist, maybe I can

help Plaz capture him. Hypotist. Are

you there?

Perfect. Just as I planned. Hula

hula. From now on you will do exactly as

I say. Yes, master.

Why do you think the hypnotist told us

what he was up to?I don't know, Penny.

Supervillains are hard to figure out

sometimes. HmmWhat are we going to do now?

First, we have to find the hypnotist's

headquarters. I know where

they are. You do?How?

He called back. I put on

the tracer. Does he look all right to you?

I'll bet he just drank some sour coconut

milk again. Let's go. Come on,

hold up.

Hola, Hola and I will look around. You'll

be ready with the plaster, Jet, in case

there's trouble. Be careful, Plas. You'll

be fighting one of the toughest, meanest

villains we've ever met. You'll be facing

danger every second of the way.

And loving it. This

way, Plaz.

Plaz, you stand here.

OK, Hula, but you've been acting very

strangely.

Very good, Hula Hula. You've done your

job well. Thanks to you, the

Nairobi Ruby will soon be mine. You'll

never get away with it, hippotist.

We'll see about that, plastic man.

Bubbles. Turn on the anti-plastic

gas. Right, Hippie.

In a moment, he'll be nothing but plastic

jelly. I've heard of hanging

loose, but this is ridiculous.

Excellent. Now for the final

blow.

I'm not wild about this arrangement. Ah

If only I had my plastic strength

back. Too bad, plastic man.

I'm sorry I won't be here to see your

finish. When I give the word that

hypnotized Hawaiian is going to activate

the volcano, in five minutes, this hot

lava will sh**t up and turn you into a

plastic soup. Are you sure you don't want

to reconsider?No chance.

Absolutely not. If you'd like some time

to think about it, I'll understand.

Hola, hola, start the volcano.

Yes, master.

So long, Plastic Man. I can't

keep tonight, Ruby Ruby waiting.

I've got to do something fast.

There. I can move my little toe. I've

got to reach Penny.

It's been a while since Plaz and Hula

Hula left. Oh, I hope they're OK. That's

Plaz's toe. He's in

trouble!

Quick, Penny! Spray the plastic renewer!

Right, players!

Ohh At last! I'm strong again!

Missed me by that much. Now to get Hula

Hula. First I've got to cool this

oversized ant hill down. There, now for

Hula Hula. Come on, hula, snap out of it.

Where... Where am I?I'll explain

later. Right now we've got to get to the

African embassy and stop the hypotist.

Hey, what is this, a Halloween party?I've

come to see the Nairobi Ruby. Nobody

sees the Ruby Mak.

Right this way, master.

Ooh, hippie. Is the ruby in there?

Yes, Bubbles, and thanks to my brilliant

plan, I've got the combination to open

it. Let's see. Six to the

right, 12 to the left, four

to the right. That should do it.

Hey, what is this?

Surprise! How did you...

You don't call me a superhero for

nothing, you know. I'm getting out of

here. Not so fast, big boy. Why don't you

stick around for a while?

Nice shot, class. I'll teach you to

make a fool out of me. You look pretty

funny as a goose. What's

he saying?

Well, we did it again. The hypnotist

and bubbles are behind bars. It sure

feels good saving the world from evil,

doesn't it, Hola?I don't know. I have

enough trouble saving myself from me.
