01x15 - Count Graffitti Meets Plastic Man - Sale of the Century

Post by bunniefuu »

From out of the pages of DC Comics comes

the world's newest and greatest

superhero, Plastic Man. He can

spring, he can stretch,

he can fly, he can bounce,

he can change his shape,

and he can even dance.

Each week, Plastic Man will face the

world's greatest collection of villains.

There's action. There's

comedy.

There's danger.

There's penny. There's bad

luck hula.

There's plenty for everybody on the

Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Show.

Eat your heart out, eight men.

Throw Count Graffiti out of the Kingdom

of Osatania, will they?Well, here's

where the world's greatest artist gets

even, starting with Princess Lara

and her precious jewels,

especially the one around her

neck.

Lusitania! I'll be back there

soon.

Such a nuisance, putting away my jewelry

every night. Don't forget your pendant,

Princess. Never. My father, the

king, gave it to me. It's worth more than

all the rest put together.

Good evening, Princess.

Cut graffiti! I see you

remember me! What is it you

want?Your jewels! Do you

hand them over, or must I take them by

force?Never! I'll never

give them up! Stop him! Yes,

Your Highness!

Get the strongbox! Now,

Princess! As I said

before,Hand it over or...

Never. You can't. Never

say can't, dear lady. I'll

take this one.

Goodbye, my dear princess.

Oh, great. The Chief gives us the day off

to go tobogganing and you forget to bring

the toboggan. Yeah, that's me, Penny.

Only thing I remember to bring is bad

luck. No problem, Hula. We've got a

toboggan. Where?Right here.

What are we waiting for?Hop on! Oh,

boy, this is gonna be fun. I'll steal

with your hands, class. Yeah, now be sure

to hold onto them tightly. Lance,

how romantic. Romantic?Well, I don't want

you to fall off and spoil the ride. Talk

about spoiling things. He's about as

romantic as a snowman. Hang on.

Here we go.

Wild Wahoo! This is better than stuff

enough Waikiki.

Super! Hey, why don't you let me

steal?I don't know, Hula. With your bad

luck,Oh, what could possibly

happen?What could

happen?A tree?That's what?

Keep cool. I'll steer us away.

See?Nothing to it.

Well, Hoola, what were you saying?Never

let me steer a toboggan with my bad

luck. And speaking of

bad luck, it's the chief.

I really hate to break up your fun,

Plastic Man, but Count Graffiti and that

artistic cane of his has shown up. The

same Count Graffiti who blew up the Royal

Art Museum in Oshetania? And all because

the king wouldn't replace all the

museum's paintings with the Count's

artwork?The very one. Graffiti was

exiled and swore to get even with the

king. He just stole a million in jewels

from the king's daughter, Princess Lara.

But I don't think it's just the jewels

he's after. What else could it be?If I

knew, I wouldn't have called you.

Graffiti has a villa in Mexico. Get

going! We'll grab him before you can say,

Enchilada, Chief. Enchilada.

You gotta admit, she's a fast talker.

Okay, Penny, take her to Mexico.

The sooner we get to that villa, the

sooner we find out what graffiti is up

to. Roger, class. Full speed ahead.

Amazonia, come here! What

about the telescope?Put it on

automatic!

Now you'll see what's so special about

the pendant. Turn on the

projector.

Why doesn't the light go through? It

will, it will! Now look at the

screen. It's just a drawing of a

log, Graphy. Yes, but

watch when the light is projected onto

the screen.

The light fits the lock, like a

key.

It is a key, my dear. A light

key that will open a certain lock in

Ossitania. And behind that lock is

my revenge. My

revenge against the king who...

The alarm! Hurry! It

spotted something! Lift me up!

Plastic Man. I might have known he'd be

after me. What are you going to do,

Graffy?I'm giving him something else to

go after, instead of me.

Hands, I command you.

Destroy Plastic Man. There's the villa,

straight ahead. The light's on. We're in

luck. Apparently Count Graffiti's there.

Sleep and coconuts. What's that?

Giant hands. Graffiti's drawings.

And they're after us. Look. That one has

Princess Laura's jewels. Now they're

taking off. Don't lose them, Penny. No

way.

Hey. Now there's only one of them. What's

happened to the other?Never mind the

other, hula. Keep after the one with the

jewels. Roger.

Hot dog. We're gaining. It won't be long

now.

Penny, this is no time to slow down.

Well, I didn't, class. Look, we're still

at full thrust.

Then why aren't we going?

I think I know why, players. It's the

giant hand, and it's got us.

Russian coconuts, we're going to be

pulverized. Time for some plastic

pinky pulling power.

Got it. Best way to loosen a grip is to

pull on a pinky.

Oh, harder, players. Pull harder. That's

easy for you to say.

Class, you did it. Yeah,

I sure hate to arm wrestle with that

hand. Now, let's catch up with thejewels.

There it goes, Penny, close in. Right,

Class.

It's dropped the jewels. They'll fall in

that lake. Not yet. Die, Penny.

We got the jewels. Now, let's get

graffiti.

Gravity! Plastic Man saved the

jewels! Drat!I was

hoping they'd sink. You wanted them to

be lost?Of course, because they'd

have figured this was lost, too. But

now Plastic Man's coming back, and I'll

have to take care of him. My hands

weren't enough to stop him. Perhaps my

next masterpiece will give him a little

shock.

We're being bombarded by Graffiti's

lightning bolts.

Oh, class, I don't think the jet can take

this much longer. We're gonna be

lightning blasted apart.

We can't hold out much longer. I'll have

to do something to stop graffiti. Grizz,

be careful.

Now you'll put a stop to your ugly

graffiti, graffiti. That's what you

think, plastic pest. Come, my

darling.

Too late. He got away. But I have the

feeling we haven't seen the last of

graffiti.

Thank you for returning my jewels,

Plastic Man. But the most important

one is missing. My pendant. Are you

sure, Princess? It's the one my father,

the king, gave me. It's the key to the

secret vault. Secret vault?

Yes. The vault where my father keeps the

royal crown of Oshetania. If somebody

else gets a hold of the crown, that makes

him the king instead of my father.

Somebody, like Count Graffiti.

Yes. And Graffiti must be after my

father. He's the only one who knows the

location of the secret vault. Looks like

our next stop is Oshetania. Let's go.

The king's palace is just up ahead.

Class, look! Graffiti's got the king.

We're too late. A superhero's

never too late, Penny. close in.

I hate to spoil your mood, Grabby, but

I think we're being followed.

It's that plastic fool again. Doesn't

he ever give up?

Faster, Penny. They've seen us.

Now to lose them.

This ring is my only chance.

Class, the king just threw something

away. We'll check that out later. We

don't want to lose graffiti.

Graffiti, we're heading right for that

mountain. Scared of a little old

mountain?

They're gonna hit that mountain. Class,

the hole isn't big enough for the jet.

Pull up, Penny.

Shiver and sugar canes. That was

close. And we lost graffiti.

And the king is the only one that knows

where the secret vaults are. It looks

like we failed. Wait a minute.

What about that object the king threw out?

That's right, Penny. Let's find it.

I found it. I found it.

HmmThere seems to be some strange code on

it. There must be a reason the King

dropped it. If only we could figure this

out. I've got it. I just remembered an

old pal out here, and there isn't a

message, code, or combination he can't

figure out. Sounds like a shady guy.

But dependable. Well, what are we waiting

for?Let's go.

How much for the hula?None. We're here.

Come here.

Conrad, how you been?

It's been years. What do you need?

We gotta get this code deciphered,

and it's an emergency.

I'm not sure what it means, but

definitely says something about royal

catacombs.

Say, aren't catacombs the

place where-- You

mean graveyard?I was hoping you

wouldn't say that. Of course! What

a perfect place to hide a secret vault!

Nobody'd ever want to look there! Come

on, you guys! We've got to visit a...

graveyard! Thanks again, Conrad!

Don't mention it!

I hate to say it, Hula, but I think your

friend Conrad should go see a

veterinarian. Veterinarian?Yes,

in case you didn't notice, he looks like

a weasel and laughs like a hyena.

Hurry, hurry! I don't want to be late

for my crowning! Then I'll be king of

all Lusitania! And only my

artwork will hang in the Royal Museum!

The catacombs are over there. This door's

beenopen. They must have just gone in.

Let's go. Uh-uh. I'm not going in

there. Not me. Well, suit yourself, Oona.

You can stay out here alone. We'll be

back in a couple of hours. A couple of

hours here all alone?By

myself?Plaz?Penny?It's

dark in here. Plaz?Penny?

Where are you?I don't think I like this

place. Plaz?Is that you,

Plaz?Boy, yeah, you losing weight. You

should eat a little more. Why, Hula, last

time I weighed myself, I had gained a

pound. Plus, if you're standing in front

of me here, then who's behind me there?

Oh, that's just a skeleton.

Boy, I think I'd rather face a 10-ton

monster than a 2-pound skeleton. Right

now, I'd like to face graffiti. But he

must have taken invisible lessons because

he's nowhere around. Maybe there's a

hidden door or a passage somewhere.

Right. And sinceIf we can't find it, we

can sniff it out. Sniff it out how?

With my teeny-weeny robot bloodhound.

Luckily, I brought it along. It's

got the scent. After it!

There's nothing there. It's a solid wall.

Not quite, cooler. There's a tiny crab.

Easy, boy. I'll take over now. We'd need

a crowbot to get through there. That's no

problem when you have a guy as flexible

as me. Okay, wedge me

under. Now, use all your might. A

secret passage?Come on,

we've got to get there before Graffiti

puts the royal crown on his head.

A little lower, more to the right.

Steady it. It has to be lined up with the

keyhole. Exactly. Perfect.

Hold it. Hold it.

I did it.

The royal crown of Osatania. It's

mine. Once it is on my head,

I will be king. King of

Osatania.

Bring it to me, Amazonia. At

once. Hold it. What?We

meet again, Count. And as for that crown,

it's not headed for your head.

That's what you say, plastic man.

What I say is, watch out for

the Cyclops! Class,

do something! Okay, you

overgrown drawing.

You're going to get a demonstration in

plastic power.

I always like a good stretch, but this is

ridiculous. You put Plastic

Man out of the way, Graffy!

Yes, and as long as he has a balcony

view, I'll let him witness my

coronation. Amazonia,

the crown! Yes, Graffy.

At once! If

this keeps up, I'm going to have to get

this costume dry-cleaned.

Now for my greatest

masterpiece! If Graffiti places

the crown on his head, he'll be the ruler

of the kingdom. I don't have much time.

If only I could erase this mistake. Of

course! That's it! I'll erase it!

Your lines are up! That plastic fool

can't stop me! Come on, now's our

chance to get Graffiti's cane.

I'll take that! Hey, let go!

Now to get the crown.

I think it's time to split!

They're getting away. Now let's do a

little doodling of our own.

Gotcha! Nice going. I'd say

you two deserve an A in art.

Trapped by my own king! And

with the crown and pendant pack, the

kingdom is safe once again.

Isn't this romantic, players?You and

me alone. And this huge bowl of

popcorn. Things couldn't be better. You

are on autopilot, I hope. You bet, Chief.

And I want to report that this case is

all wrapped up. Barely. And we're

bringing Graffiti's cane back to be put

in the superhero archives. Well, just

hurry. We're not going to pay you

overtime. The only one

who should get overtime is for a hula.

Yeah, I feel kind of sorry for him. All

alone in the back of the jet, just

watching that game.

You know, I'm getting pretty good or not.

This is aBeautiful day for the beach,

players. Nice of the chief to give us a

day off, wasn't it?

What is that?I don't know, but I'm gonna

find out. Oh, what's the movie, Hula

Hula?It's called the April Disco

Dance Dun Detroit, but I'm really waiting

for the commercial. Here it is. Listen to

this guy. Hi, friends. Gear Shift Swift

here for Swift's Thrifty Motors, the

largest used car dealership this side of

the Amazon River. Come on

down. If I can't make you a deal, I'll

sit on a hot fudge sundae. He's my

favorite TV star. Oh, brother.

Hey, can I help it if the tires came off

the car I sold you?As if I didn't have

enough problems. I haven't sold a car in

three days. What's that?

Sounds like the carburetor on that '71

compact I sold last week.

Hey, that's some set of wheels you got

there. What's it got?Power steering?

Factory air?I have come to

purchase this planet.

I want to drain its energy to

fuel my cruiser fleet.

And I am prepared to offer

this. It is the

flame jewel of Andromeda.

Direct me to the being from whom I may

purchase this world.

Friend, you've come to the right place.

And would you believe it?We're having our

month-end closeout. Hey,

this sun is divine. Thanks

for letting us play with your beach ball,

mister. Don't mention it. Are

there any tuna sandwiches left? No, but

there's a ham on rye. Why'd it get so

dark all of a sudden?Holy hula

girls, it's an eclipse. There was no

eclipse scheduled for today.

It wasn't supposed to rain either. And me

without Michael Luscious. Take me and

run for cover. Head for the plaster jet.

Maybe the chief can tell us what's going

on. We'd better clear this up. My mother

didn't raise me to be an umbrella.

Our experts say that the entire Earth has

been pulled out of its orbit. That would

explain the weird weather. Some force

seems to be towing the Earth. As far as

we can determine, it's out in the desert.

And you wanted to send your bravest,

shrewdest operative, right?RightBut since

he's busy, it's up to you.

HmmNice to have the folks upstairs

rooting for you. I'm heading for

the desert, class. Keep your eye out for

anything unusual.

Now, that's unusual. What is it,

players?I don't know, Penny, but I'm

about to find out.

It's a flying saucer and it's towing the

Earth away.

Astrodomus thinks his forces have

enough energy to defeat us.

Wait until we return with the

energy of this planet.

Who is knocking?Want to

buy a set of encyclopedias? We are in

outer space. Hey,

is it my fault they gave me a lousy route?

Identify yourself and

state your business. I'm

Plastic Man, and my business is to get

you to put our planet back where you

found it. I paid for this planet.

It is mine. Who

sold it to you?I gave the man the

flame jewel of Andromeda.

A gem of mighty powers. Here

is proof.

Hmm, this is a contract to buy a used

car. Gear Shift Swift. He has

no right to sell the earth.

The planet is mine. Deal with

the intruder I endorse. A

robot dog. What do I think of next?I

wonder if it does any tricks.

Hey! What

happened to the days when dogs used to

fetch sticks?I'm worried, Hula Hula.

Plaz has been gone for the longest time.

He's probably taken care of the suffer

in surfboards. What is it?

It's Plaz!

Oh, Blast, you had us so scared. The

danger isn't over. Come on, to the

plaster jet. We've got to buy Earth back

from a used car salesman.

The only chance we have of getting our

planet back is by getting the jewel. It's

called the Flame Jewel of Andromeda, and

it has some sort of powers. Gear Shift

Swift will understand. He's an honest

guy. I heard him say so on his

commercials. There's his car lot down

below. Land the plaster jet wherever you

can find a space and join me.

I never tried hang gliding before.

Plastic man, in person. Let me

have that jewel, Swift. I didn't do

anything wrong. The world belongs to

everyone. I just sold my share.

Well, your share was attached to everyone

else's share, so let me have that.

Hey, this thing does have weird powers.

No way am I gonna hand it over. Players,

are you all right?I feel like I was

inside a blender. Come on, we've got to

get that thing.

There he is. He put the jewel on the hood

of that car. How are you going to get it

so he won't grab it and use it on your

face? That car looks like it could use

some servicing. Hey.

Sneaky, sneaky. The future of

the Earth is at stake if we don't get

this back to those space creeps and fans.

You think that outer space fella will

sell us Earth back for the jewel? He'd

better. It's the only planet we've got.

No! Oh, come on! You don't want the

Earth. It's got smog and traffic jams and

junk mail and... Silence!

When Earth reaches my galaxy, I will

drain it of all its energy.

Oh, Plaz, you've got to do something.

Well, I haven't tried pleading yet.

Holy Honolulu, what's that?It's a

mechanized mongrel. Plaz, do something.

Throw him an aluminum top biscuit of

something. Down, boy. Go chase a metal

cat. He's gonna make dog food out of Hula

Hula. Not while Plaz is here. Nice,

doggy. Nice. Mustn't chomp.

Plus, help!

What took you so long?I got lost in the

air conditioning. Here, boy, come on,

fetch the ball.

They can put them back together. Right

now, I've got an idea.

Well, no hard feelings. My friends just

left and now I'm heading back first. You

are wise, Earthling. Oh, by the

way. I hope you won't try anything sneaky

like making this jewel explode so I

couldn't bother you again. Nah, you're an

honest guy. See you around.

An excellent idea.

Increase charge in that flame jewel to

danger level. In less than a minute, it

will release a burst of energy to

destroy that pest.

When a flame jewel overcharges,

Think and stop it.

Then I guess we're both in trouble. Phew!

Get rid of that. It will destroy us and

this ship. Must attach.

Stop!

Where are you?Give me the tour.

Anything you say. No!

Stop!Oh, you want

to call off our trade?Well, give the

Earth back, and it's a deal. Anything!

Just get the jewel out of my

pants!

Whatever you say.

Very well. I

return Earth to you.

I knew you were a creature of your word.

Well. All's well that ends well.

Yeah, it sure feels good to relax after a

hard day's work. Right, Plaz?Speak for

yourself. I still gotta tow Earth back to

its orbit.
