Oh boy, I am cooking up a storm

tonight. Can you give me extra allowance

to go to the comic shop? Oh, sweetie,

you spent your allowance on a big stick

of bubble

[Music]

gum. That's why it would be extra

allowance. No. No. Oh, nice try though,

sweetheart. Junior, be a dear and go

pick your mother up some milk from the

store, would you? All right,

fine. I don't have any smaller bills, so

you're going to have to bring back some

change. Bye, Mom. Come back real soon.

Now,

my mind is so blown. I need mind glue to

put it back together.

Is that the new Power Pumpkin comic? You

mean Power Pumpkin Rainbow issue number

0.0? Yep, it is. Can I see it? No way.

You've got finger oils, breath mist, and

dandruff. I don't have dandruff. You

should get your own copy, Junior.

Avocado's comics has them. Yeah, but

you'll have to be quick. Avocado says

they're flying off the shelves like

candy.

Well, I could just go look at the new

comic, then come back for the milk.

Just going to look at it. Just going to

look at it. Just going to look at

it.

Hello, comic.

Do you have the new Power Pumpkin? You

mean Power Pumpkin Reboot issue number

0.0? I have one copy left.

These puppies have been flying off the

shelves like Larry Boy issue number one.

[Music]

It's mint. It smells minty. You couldn't

get it in a more minty mint condition.

You interested? Oh, I don't have any

money. Shame. At the generous price I

could offer, you'd walk out of here with

an investment that was going up in value

the moment you left. I really wish I

could. By the time you walked one block,

the comic would be worth double, nay,

triple its original value. In a couple

of years, its value will be

incalculable. You could put yourself

through 10 colleges at the same time.

Sold. Thank you for your purchase. All

sales final. No refunds, exchanges,

transfers, trade swaps, apologies,

crying, or complaining. Have a cosmic

day, comic kid.

Our pumpkin reboot issue number

0.0 is mine.

Wait a that's left of the money I gave

you. The comic went up in value even as

we were speaking. I hope this is enough

to buy milk. This is not enough money to

buy milk. Are you sure this is all your

mother gave you? Oh, kind of. Well, I'm

sorry, Junior, but it's not enough. Oh,

no. I never should have bought that

comic.

Mrs. P. Oh, hi, Mrs. Asparagus. Oh no,

mom. Yes, Junior is right here. Hey,

hang on. Where'd he go?

I don't know. He said something about a

comic. You should try the comic book

store. If mom finds out about this,

she's going to ground me until I'm 73. I

got to get some

[Music]

money. Aha! I can set up a stand and

sell

[Music]

things. Let's see here. Got a pencil, a

happy eaten sandwich, an old homework

assignment, and gum. Get these fresh

items while they're fresh, rare, one of

a kind pencil. Number two lead, but

number one of its

kind. Oh, sorry to bother. My son was in

here. Did you see him?

Huh? Son. Son of Power Pumpkin or son of

Juniper Justice. Oh, no. No. I don't

want a comic strip. I'm looking for my

son, Junior. Oh, Junior comics are in

the kids aisle just over there. I'm

sorry. What? No. Huh? My son is a small

asparagus named Junior. About yay tall,

yay skinny, and yay adorable. He loves

your comic pamphlets. And he may have

been in here. So, I'm just saying it'd

be awesome if you'd seen him here is all

I'm saying. H. Oh, now I know what

you're trying to say. Oh, thank

goodness. You're looking for awesome

dude number 32. That's a pretty obscure

back issue, but worry not. I have many,

many issues.

Oh, stuff and things. Buy it here. It's

really great. Is that an eraser, I see?

Well, that's exactly what I need. I just

wrote an entire book backwards by

accident. $20, please. Let's see. What

have we got here? Ah, how about a

dime?

Okay. Oh, bother. I'm so sorry, Junior.

This is my last dime. I can't spend it.

I need it to make a wish. Make a wish?

Yes. In the fountain. You know, toss a

coin, make a wish, that sort of thing.

People throw money in the fountain all

day. It must be loaded.

[Music]

I sure hope he comes home soon. Or well,

maybe he did. I should check back at

[Music]

home. Just need enough for

milk. Sure hope they're biting

today. What a beauty. 500 more of these

and I can get some milk.

[Music]

Are you aware that stealing wishes is a

crime? Stealing from who? The fountain.

No one's going to miss it. I'll let you

off with a warning this time, but we're

tossing those wishes back in.

Oh no, that was all my money. Now I have

nothing.

[Music]

How can I go home now? I can never face

my mom again. I guess I'll have to

become a

wanderer. Roaming from town to town,

taking odd jobs, going by a fake name.

Nikki. Nikki. They'll call me. Train

hobbit. Never staying in one place too

long. Man on the run. on the run from

the

man. Boy, am I going to miss my mom's

cooking? If only I had something to

sell. Wait, why didn't I think of this

before? I bet this comic's gone up in

value. I'll sell it, buy milk, and go

home. Yeah, I never should have bought

it in the first place.

[Music]

I would like to sell you this ultra rare

Power Pumpkin reboot issue number 0.0.

That old thing worthless.

But I thought you said it was jumping up

in value. That was until they released

the new holographic talking cover

edition.

Power reboot.

So you won't buy mine back? I suppose we

could cut a deal, but you won't get top

dollar.

Not minty enough. No mint smell. Smells

like tuna. Actually, I had a tuna

sandwich in my backpack. Major

depreciation. I'll give you a dollar in

store credit for it.

Wait, I'll trade it for that milk.

This? You sure? Absolutely.

All sales final. No refunds, exchanges,

transfers, trade, swaps, apologies,

crying, or complaining. Enjoy that milk

carton, kiddo.

Hey, there's only a drop or two left in

here. It's still collectible.

[Music]

I'm ruined. I've got no money. I've got

no comic. Guess I'd better just catch

the next train out of town. Junior, it

sounded like your mom was looking for

you. Yeah, I really messed up. I spent

the money she gave me for milk on that

comic, and no matter what I do, I can't

earn it back. Wow, that's serious. What

are you going to do? I don't know. I

can't go home. She'll be so mad at me.

You sound just like the prodigal son.

Tell him the story, Larry. What's the

prodigal son? Let's cate. We baked the

cake. Cuz the prodigal son's come home.

He spent all his money on fortune and

fun till he was poor and all

alone. He remembered his dad how he

loved his kids. Going home better than

eating with the pigs. Let's

cate to cake cuz the prodal son's come

home. He thought dad wouldn't want him

for the wrong things he done. But his

dad is hugging him, saying, "Welcome

home, son. Cate, let's all eat steak,

cuz the prodal son's come home." His dad

is happy cuz the prodal sons come

home. So, what do you say, Junior? Guess

I should just go home and face the

music, Junior. Oh, Junior. I'm so happy

you're

home. Mom, I spent all your money. I'm

so sorry. Oh, I know you are, son. I

know you are. Well, aren't you angry?

I'm happy you're home. That's all that

matters. Now, let's get you

[Music]

inside. Okay. Now, who wants to pray and

ask God to bless the food? May I pray?

God, thank you for my mom and that she

forgives me and loves me even when I

mess up. And thank you for loving us the

same way, accepting us like lost sons

and daughters with open arms no matter

how far we go astray. Amen.

[Music]

Mayor. Mayor.

Hey, where's the mayor?

Mayor, the mayor is missing.

[Music]

Did someone call for the League of

Veggies? I did. Thank goodness you're

here. The mayor is missing. Missing

mayor, you called the right veggies. You

certainly did.

Madame Blueberry. That's Madame

Blueberry. I'm also on the case of the

missing mayor. I called you both. The

more the marrier. Perfect. We can solve

the mystery together. That's okay. We

can handle it. Thanks for the offer,

though.

[Music]

You really don't think Madame Clueberry

could be any help? It's just that

finding lost mayors is more of a

superhero thing. It's a mystery which is

more of a detective thing. I possess a

deductive reasoning in which I can

figure out just where the mayor may have

gone. Well, I have a trackomatic

[Music]

5000. The mayor's footprints. He went

that way. Come on,

heroes. Madam's nice. I like her a lot,

but I wish she'd let us handle this.

Just let her tag along. What could she

offer us that we can't figure out on our

own? Yeah, we're the professionals here.

The way of a fool is right in his own

eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Proverbs 12:15. That's right. She might

have advice, or rather clues worth

listening to. I found something.

Big Salon hats. Carry on.

Great. Thanks. That's super

helpful. The footsteps are leading to

Hog r*pes General Store. The steps lead

to this table. This must be his drink.

Looks like he stopped here for less than

a minute, then ran northeast. So, Mayor

Archabald sat here, ordered

his bedtime tea, realized he was late

for a meeting. Being in such a hurry, he

got lost. I think you may be off. May I

offer an alternate theory? All right.

What is it? The mayor did not order

bedtime tea because Archabald is

strictly a peppermint tea man. And and

that is worth closer inspection. Why

would the mayor order bedtime tea? A tea

he never drinks in the morning.

For fun? No. What if someone else was

here and they offered it to him? Like

who? like someone possessed with a

certain, shall we say,

hostility. The mayor ran because he was

being chased. That is a ridiculous

theory. Thank you, madam. You've proven

why we should be the ones handling this

case. But it's bedtime tea in the

morning.

The mayor was in such a hurry, he

accidentally ran straight into the pond

and fell in. Then he got out when he

lost all sense of direction.

What are you doing? Fishing for clues.

Aha.

[Music]

It's the mayor's monle. Archabal could

not have gone far without his

monle. I say that the mayor, thbing wet

and half blind, ran to this tree and

unable to see who was chasing him, hid

behind it. Then what happened? They

maynapped him. They who? Who are they?

Therein lies the mystery. This is

ridiculous. The mayor's footsteps end at

this tree. Yes, but that doesn't mean he

was maynapped. He probably just climbed

it. Hello.

See?

Hello, heroes. Hello, madame. Oh, you

found my monle. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. We

were getting so worried about you. I was

just out for a daily tree climb.

Daily tree climb. So, you're fine.

Nothing's wrong. You weren't chased by

anyone. Me? I couldn't be better.

He's fine after all.

Wait a minute. Your monle is on the

wrong eye. Oh, I wear it on this eye

when the other one gets tired. Madam, I

think it's time to admit you are wrong.

But something smells fishy. Oh, don't be

too hard on her. She was only trying to

help. Let's be happy the case is closed

and I'm okay. You tried, madam. Thanks

for trying. I guess that's it. Case

closed. Who wants to come to the mantle

and join me for celebratory

tea? Oh, a passcode. You know me, always

forgetting passcodes. Uh, could you dial

in the passcode to get into my office,

please? You mean the up button? Yes,

that's the one. Thank

[Music]

you. Ah, that's some nice relaxing tea.

What is it? Peppermint? Actually, it's

bedtime.

Ha. Madam was insistent that you drink

only peppermint. I knew it couldn't be

true. Of course you drink other kinds of

tea like bed time. Man, it's making me

[Music]

[Music]

sleepy. April cut. Madam was right.

That's right. But you couldn't see it

cuz you think your heart's stuffed.

Night night, little heroes.

[Music]

Oh no, I'm going to fall

asleep. Madam Clberry,

Larry boy.

[Music]

The supers are in stupers. I've got the

keys to city hall and no one suspects a

thing except that blueberry. And she's

off the

case. Operation fake mayor is going

splendidly.

I'm the mayor. Look at me. I have a bow

tie and you have to do what I say. Ha.

That is spot on. Get the heroes out of

here. I've got important mayor business.

Now for my first decree.

Oh

dear. Bedtime tea. I knew it. Veggies of

the house, I have an

announcement. Today I shall hold a big

ceremony downtown. signing a new law

that everyone must refer to me as

supreme ruler and give me their stuff.

Oh man, not my stuff.

[Music]

Archable, I can't believe it. You really

were in trouble. You mean you fell for

that costume of hers? It looks nothing

like me. The eyebrows are just creepy.

April Cot tricked us all. I didn't give

Madam's clues any thought. I should have

listened to her better. I guess I

thought I was hot stuff. She's up there.

Yeah, I mean, she is way up there.

Top-notch detective work. No, she's up

there. Look.

Wow. How did you get up there? Hey, how

did you get up there? Whoops. Sorry.

Looks like I have to teach you a lesson

about trying to escape on my watch.

Follow my lead. Hey.

Ow. Don't think we're hot

stuff. Hot

stuff. Hot

stuff. Hot

stuff. We don't know all there is to

know. So we listen to the wisdom of our

sisters and bros. Don't think we're hot

stuff. Hot stuff. Hey hot stuff. Oh hot

stuff.

If we're wise, we'll realize we're

dissing and missing good advice. The

road is rough and enough's enough. We

need a helping hand cuz we're not that

tough. We don't think we're

hot. Hot

stuff. Thinking we're so cool. We're

done with that. We'll stop twisting our

arms.

Fatt

stuff. Hot stuff. Hey, hot

[Music]

stuff. Thanks, madam. I'm sorry I didn't

listen to you. You were right all along.

Right now, let's worry about the mayor.

We have to get the real Mayor Archable

to that ceremony so we can expose April

Cot's scheme. You heard the lady. We're

heading downtown.

And now I shall sign this decree and

make my supreme rulership law.

Get my favorite pen out of your mouth,

impostor.

Yeah, the real mayor is here.

I am the real mayor. He's the face. I

can't tell who the real mayor is. I

think it's that one. Wait, no, that one.

No, wait. That's a tree.

What do you think? The real mayor never

wears a scarf. Just as I thought. A

zipper. This is the impostor.

Well, goodie for you. Wow, April Cot.

You have been April C.

And thank you, heroes, for saving the

day. Thank Madame Clueberry. She cracked

this case wide open. We make a pretty

good team, Lawrence Boying Company. For

now, my work here is done. Until the

next mystery, Clueberry out.

Remember kids, God made you special and

he loves you very much.

[Music]

They're unforgettable. They are

incredible.

[Music]

Veggie tail, broccoli, veggie tail,

celery, veggie tail in the city.

[Music]
