Aladdin and His Magic Lamp (1970)

Post by bunniefuu »

[haunting music]

[suspenseful music]

- [Narrator] Once upon a time,

a powerful magician lived in Egypt.

The fame of his sorcery
spread throughout the world.

- Master of the underworld,

oh Master who has given these
great magical powers to me.

You who have enabled your servant

to change an owl into a dog,

a dog into a cat, a cat into a rat,

and the power to make
wheat grow in the desert.

Oh Master, spirit of the underworld,

oh, tell me where I can find
the lamp of marvelous powers,

the fabulous lamp that
commands the great genie

who is obeyed by the spirits
of earth, of the air,

of water, and fire.

Oh my master, I pray you to reveal to me

the place where I may find
and possess this magic lamp.

- Listen to me, I know the
place where the lamp is hidden.

Hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo!

I'll help you.

- Keep quiet, Hou-Hou.

You disturb my secret rituals.

- You better listen to
me, or you'll be sorry.

I know all about the
mysteries, hoo hoo hoo,

hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo!

- You be quiet, impertinent bird,

or I'll turn you to marble!

- [Hou-Hou] Hoo hoo hoo,
hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo!

- Master of all powerful
spells, I am calling you.

Do you hear me, oh master?

[dramatic music]

Master of the underworld, I see you now.

- What do you want of
me, Magician of Egypt?

- I want to know where I may
find the famous magic lamp.

- Let me concentrate.

I see the lamp in a far
country of the Orient.

Near the border of China,

there is a small village
between three hills.

A powerful sultan rules over
the village and its people.

There, you will find what you seek.

But heed this word.

No one but an innocent boy can find it.

Only his hand may take the lamp

from the earth where it is hidden.

- And where is this village,
oh master of the underworld?

- It is you yourself who must seek it.

But I warn you, you must not be the one

who touches it first.

You will be struck dead.

But if you obey these words,

you shall become the most
powerful man on Earth.

- I will obey, oh master.

[chuckling] I shall find this town,

and the lamp shall be mine then!

I shall become the master of the universe!

- We're going to be master of
the universe, the universe!

We're going to be master
of the whole world!

[laughing]

- Come here, Sesame!

Sesame!

[quirky music]

Sesame, get up.

Get up, hey, hey, hey!

Get going.

Are you going to move?

Bah!

I forgot you need to be wound up again.

And now, off we go!

[lively music]

[gentle music]

[exotic music]

Ow!

Rascals!

Rogues!

Who threw that ball?

- It, it was me, Uncle.

I, I didn't mean to, really.

- Uncle?

I don't have any sisters or brothers.

Yes, yes, yes.

Wait a minute, that's a good
way for me to get acquainted.

It's quite all right, son, no harm done.

Say, uh, you look familiar
to me, my lad, yes.

Tell me, who is your
father, what's your name?

Who are you?

- My name is Aladdin, and my
father is Mustafa the Tailor.

But I live alone with my mother.

It's been a long time since
my poor father passed away.

- Aladdin?

But of course.

[chuckling] Why, this is just
the child I'll be needing.

What luck that I found him here.

Aladdin, oh, dear nephew.

You are the son of my poor
dearly-beloved brother.

What sad tidings I hear from you,

just when I made a long
voyage to see Mustafa

and share my riches with him.

Tell me what happened to my dear brother.

- I was too small, I don't remember.

- I'm not surprised you don't.

I myself left the country many years ago.

Here, take this gold coin,
and give it to your mother.

Tonight, I will come to eat with you.

- Oh, thank you, Uncle!

Mommy will be so happy.
