I didn't didn't panic at all.

It was really strange.

I was completely calm.

And I remember just thinking in disbelief,

"I can't believe I'm gonna die.

to say bye to family."

So, I was just completely numb.

But, as it turned out, which I didn't

know at the time, helicopters have

more than one engine, so they managed

to turn it round and get back to Bastion.

As soon as we landed,

I started hyperventilating.

And my friend came over, pulled

my body armour off me, gave me some water.

And then they just loaded us all up

onto another helicopter,

because otherwise
