[footsteps]

[echoing] Hey, Mom.

[footsteps]

[young Julia echoing] Mom.

[tense music playing]

[bracelet clicks]

[piano music playing]

[door opens]

[piano music stops]

- [sour note plays on piano]

- [Zofia] Bravo.

Since you've been here,

your talent has improved.

I think it's time for your first concert.

Concert?

[Zofia] Mm-hmm.

- It's just our standard procedure.

- [camera beeps]

A couple concerts

and internal performances.

Then in time, we'll open it up

to the outside world as well.

Then from there, with continual practice,

I could see there being a chance

you could play with the philharmonic.

- Philharmonic?

- Mm-hmm.

Why would you assume

that I wanna join the philharmonic?

[knocking at door]

- Come in!

- [door opens]

- [Szymon] Excuse me, Doctor.

- Yes?

I don't mean to be a nuisance,

but this room was supposed to be free

five minutes ago. I need to get ready.

Yes, of course, Szymon. Come in.

Come to my office,

and we'll finish talking, okay?

[ominous music playing]

I think you should follow his example.

His life wasn't easy either

when he came here,

but he works very hard for his success.

- [Szymon] Now

- [door closes]

[rhythmic music playing]

[ethereal music playing]

Why do you make things so difficult

for people who have been through

what we have?

Pretty sure I need some more time

to mourn my own family.

And you want me

to perform in front of people?

How about, I dunno, the funeral march?

I understand the irony, but it's your

talent and persistent practice that will

help you find a place in this world

that you could otherwise get lost in.

I could get lost?

Yes.

I would only get lost

'cause I don't think

you really want us to remember.

You slowly feed us information

because you pretend

it's this dubious therapeutic method.

You said before that working on my talent

should help me with my memories.

And

I still can't remember them.

None of 'em.

I don't know anything

about what happened before all of this.

Adam remembers his life

only in a few snippets.

He doesn't know much about it.

Milena's been here for

Actually, no one knows how long.

And Magda's continued to regress.

I assure you

we're considered the best in our field.

We do implement innovative treatments

that aren't available

in any other facility.

And that's why we get the patients

with severe memory complications.

Is that so?

You're saying I'll never remember them?

[inhales sharply] Julia.

Despite what you think,

many clients do get help from therapy.

And I'm completely convinced, Julia,

you are on track

to leave here with the group.

What's more, memory isn't everything.

You can remember your entire life

and still be a nobody.

Or be alone.

So push your talent.

Let me show you something.

[Zofia] Have a seat.

Sit down.

["Clair de Lune" playing]

please just raise the volume?

No, that is still unclear.

Police are still investigating.
