[Vampirina] "A Gargoyle Carol."

[Oxana] It was so nice of the Peeplesons
to lend us some decorations

for our first Christmas in Pennsylvania!

Aww! This snowman has a carrot nose
and cute little earmuffs!

[gasps] And look at this
handsome ghost ornament!

Oh, he's absolutely gleaming!

[laughs] Demi, that's you!

Humans don't have ghost ornaments

like we used to back in Transylvania.

That's right. There's nothing spooky
about human Christmas.

Everything's so...
sparkly and bright. Heh.

[playing "Deck the Halls"]

-It's different.
-[Wolfie barks]

h*! h*! h*! Scary Christmas!

[giggles] Papa! Humans say,
"Merry Christmas." Remember?

Right! Still getting used to
our new Christmas traditions.

Well, zey are more "holly and jolly"

zan "spooky and gloopy"
like monster Christmas.

But, euh, I like it! Heh.

I even made candy canes
just in time for Christmas Eve!

Mmm! I kinda like
celebrating Christmas the human way.

[Gregoria] That makes one of us.

Frilly red bows, reindeer, and--

Not mistletoe, too?

This isn't the Hauntley way
to do Christmas!

Where's the dead tree
with eyeball ornaments?

And the gingerbread zombies?

And why is coal in stockings
a bad thing in Pennsylvania?

What's wrong
with some good old rocks?

I know it's not what we're used to,

but what matters is that
we're doing it together.

Hit it, Papa!

Our first annual
Hauntley family Christmas tree,

Pennsylvania-style. Ta-da!

-Wow!
-So enchanting!

Too bright! Uh-- Too cheery!

I know just the thing to get you
in the Christmas spirit, Gregoria.

Huh? That's it!

These human traditions are too much
for one gargoyle to handle!

I'm starting to think
I should just head back

to Transylvania for Christmas.

But that means you'll be all alone.

At least I'll be
doing Christmas the right way.

Boo! Humbug!

[sighs] There must be some way
to convince Gregoria

that human Christmas isn't so bad.

I don't want her to leave.

And neither do we. But don't worry.

I'm sure she'll come around.

It's hard being away
from Transylvania for Christmas.

But that doesn't mean we can't have
the most bat-tastic time together.

We just have to show her that.

Now, it's way past bedtime
for a certain little bat.

Christmas is tomorrow,
and that means Santa's Claws are coming!

[giggles] I think you mean
"Santa Claus," Mama.

[gasps] I have one more thing to do!

Cookies and milk?

That's what human kids
leave out for Santa!

-[barks]
-Can you make sure

Wolfie doesn't get the milk, Papa?

Of course, little Vee.

But now, I can see why this tradition
hasn't caught on in Transylvania.

Ahh, one lick and we'd have ourselves
a Christmas werewolf! Ooh!

Merry Christmas, Papa!
Merry Christmas, Mama!

[barks]

Wha--?

Uhh? Gregoria, Demi? Is-- Is that you?

Season's Greetings!
I am the Christmas Ghost.

What the what, now?

Ahh, just the gargoyle I wanted to see.

Why are you dressed like that?

Not sure. But cute, right?

It's my Christmas Ghost uniform.

Christmas Ghost? Is this a joke?

We ghosts don't joke, ma'am.

I'm here to get you
into the Christmas spirit!

I'm in the Christmas spirit just fine.

I just prefer the monster way
of doing things.

But you need to remember
what Christmas is truly about.

And you're here to show her?

Indeed! And you can help me, Vampirina.

-So, are we ready to go?
-Go where?

Back in time... to the past!

[echoing] Past... past...

[Vampirina] We're in Transylvania!

[Gregoria] Now, that's more like it!

This castle looks familiar.

[Christmas Ghost] Well, it should.
Because you're home.

[humming]

It's me! As a baby!

For Hunchie! For Mama, Dada,
and Grandgoyle!

Ohh, Transylvania coal.

Now, that's a good gift.

[chuckles] You're so cute, Gregoria.

It looks like you're excited
for Christmas!

[Mother Gargoyle] Gregoria!
The fangy pudding is ready!

Coming, Mama!

My mama always made
the best fangy pudding.

It looks like you loved Christmas
with your family when you were little.

Of course I did! We had
a dead tree every year

and cobweb stockings...

That's why I brought you here.

Remember what a happy, Christmas-loving
gargoyle you used to be?

That's because we were in Transylvania
doing Christmas the monster way.

How did we travel
back in time, anyway?

A couple of whooshes, lots of magic,

and just a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Well, let's get back home

so I can start packing
for Transylvania.

[Gregoria] I think your magic
is a little off.

Can you whoosh us back
to our house? Inside?

I may be a rock,
but it's stone cold out here.

I think the Christmas Ghost
wants to show you something else.

Right you are, Vampirina!

I am now the Ghost
of Christmas Present!

Not to be confused with
the Ghost of Christmas Presents,

which is a totally different thing.

Involves lots of ribbon curling.

Anyhoo. Wanted to show you
what's happening

with your family
on Christmas day this year.

[Edna] Merry Christmas, neighbors!

Can I get you some hot cocoa
with peppermint?

If it's a human-- I-- I mean,
holiday tradition!

Heh. Of course!

And we brought these for you.

Is this gingerbread? How thoughtful!

Well, your family is certainly
in the Christmas spirit!

Yes, we are! Well, almost everyone.

I hope he's not talking about me.

Poor Gregoria.
I wish she would have stayed

with the family for Christmas.

Human traditions are actually
quite enchanting!

But she's been too grumpy to notice.

Me? Grumpy? Why would she say
a thing like that?

I think Mama and Papa
want you to enjoy Christmas.

Wherever we are.

You may be in Pennsylvania,
but you're with your family, after all.

It's like nobody understands me.

I like my monster traditions, OK?

Who wants to do the Reindeer Hop?

-[laughing]
-[laughs] Look, I have antlers!

-I love it!
-Oh, how fun!

Now, that is ridiculous.

If that's what my family
is doing for Christmas this year,

then I need to get
to Transylvania more than ever.

[sighs]

I know it's hard
being away from home.

The truth is, I miss our
Transylvanian Christmas, too.

-You do?
-Of course!

Remember when Mama
decorated the house with thistletoe?

And we went scrolling
in the cemetery?

And Nan made her famous
peppermint bark?

[laughs] And it barked back at Wolfie?

[laughs] Yeah! I really miss all of that.

But we won't know how we feel
about human Christmas traditions

until we give them a try.

So, will you stay with us for Christmas?

Sorry, Vee. This human stuff
just isn't for me.

Uh, hold your haunts!

I have one more thing to show you.

Uh-uh! I'm done with you
and all your magical... swooshing.

Well, technically, it's "whooshing."

Don't worry. This won't take long.

Uh-- You could have at least
taken us somewhere exciting.

Why are we back in the living room?

Why-- Why-- Why is it empty?

The whole house is empty!

Hello? Anybody here?

What's going on?

This is Christmas Yet to Come.

The... future?

That's right. Nothing
you see here has happened yet,

but if things don't change,
this could be your fate, Gregoria.

But... why-- But why
are you showing me this?

If my family moved, then
I would have gone with them.

[gasps] Is that... me?

Why am I in Edna's garden?

Am I a... a... a g-g-g--

Garden gnome? I'm afraid so.

But I'm the Hauntley's gargoyle,
not Edna's garden decoration!

I'm supposed to be guarding my family,

not sitting here
with a flower pot on my head.

Did my family forget about me?

Did they accidentally leave me behind?

[gasps]

Gregoria?

Maybe I was more of a grump
than I thought.

Maybe not wanting
to spend Christmas here

in Pennsylvania with everybody
hurt their feelings.

Your feelings. I'm sorry, Vee.

Maybe I'm wrong about
this human Christmas thing.

But Christmas isn't about
