Despite its extraordinary
beauty, this jungle is home

to some of the most dangerous
creatures on the planet,

full of deadly animals, snakes,
caymans, jaguars, and insects.

The weather conditions
are also tough,

with temperatures of up
to 104 degrees fahrenheit

during the day,

but dropping drastically
at night below 64 degrees.

Our two participants
must learn to adapt

in order to survive this
hostile environment.

Stéphanie: My name is stéphanie.

I'm 35 years old, and I
come from Paris, France.

And I'm a reptile
zoologist expert.

I want to go on this adventure

because I want to
get back to nature.

I live in Paris, so I have
forgotten what that's like.

I also want to see how
far I can push myself

in difficult situations

because you can't
really know yourself

until you've faced adversity.

I'm quite strong-willed.

I'm usually quite an
enthusiastic and upbeat person.

I get things done.
I'm quite tenacious.

I've been to jungles before.

I know there are a lot of
dangers, especially snakes.

My life has gotten
too comfortable.

I know what I'm capable of.

I'm very careful and observant.

We're near a waterfall,

and I will try not to be
too hard on my partner.

Time for stéphanie to
go and meet her partner.

But first, she must strip down.

I'm not bothered
about being Naked.

We are all the same
under our clothes.

I'm not bothered by it.

Steven: I'm Steven.

I'm 32 years old, and I'm
from the var region in France.

I've been working for
child protection services

almost three years.

After I graduated,

I decided to go out
and explore the world.

So I traveled the
world for six years.

I traveled to about
60 different countries.

Ever since I returned
home from my world trip,

I haven't really felt I
was challenging myself.

So I wanted to find something
that gave me that feeling again.

This place is amazing.

My main skills are
that I adapt very well

and I'm strong-willed.

Those are my two main strengths.

To me, this isn't just
a hostile environment.

We can survive here.

Somehow we learned to
shut off our primal instincts.

Narrator: For Steven, survival
begins when he has to strip Naked.

will be my first challenge.

Being Naked around other people,

that's going to
be my first hurdle.

Narrator: To participate
in this challenge,

experts assess each
candidate's survival skills

in hostile environments
based on evaluations

concerning their psychological,
physical, and survival skills.

On a scale from zero to 10,

each survivalist is given
a primitive survival rating,

or PSR.

Stéphanie is a reptile expert

who is a great
fan of the outdoors

and feels at home with nature

thanks to her character
and capacity to adapt easily,

our experts have
given her a score of 6.7.

Steven has traveled the world
and is familiar with jungles.

The only issue... he must
try and learn new skills

and not just stick
to what he knows.

Our experts have
given him a score of 7.4.

At the end of their adventure,

the experts will
re-evaluate the candidates.

Stéphanie: I am a bit stressed
out about being alone in the jungle

without any resources,

because we really will
have to fend for ourselves.

It's something I've
never done before,

so it will be a real challenge.

Steven: I am nervous about
meeting someone for the first time

and being all Naked,

so I hope we'll be able
to lighten the atmosphere

and move on quickly
to our adventure

begin building their shelter.

They decide to use bamboo
to make a raised platform

that will help keep them safe

against some of
the area's dangers,

including the fer-de-lance,
which hides in rocks

and is considered the deadliest
snake of South America.

withstand an array of dangers,

Steven and stéphanie
have both reached their goals

to arrive together at
the end of this adventure.

On leaving this experience,
stéphanie lost 20 pounds.

She was able to take
risks and never gave up,

increasing her
PSR from 6.7 to 8.1.

Steven, already slim at
the start, lost 28 pounds.

He put a lot into
building a good shelter

and bounced back from
some painful setbacks,

thanks to the unfailing
support of his partner.

His PSR increases
from a 7.4 to a 7.7.

Despite all the ordeals
they went through,

Steven and stéphanie
stayed solid until the end

in their effort to survive

the jungles of Colombia
