is all about fashion and nature and earth.

Welcome back to Next in Fashion.

Happy to be here.

[Gigi] Your next challenge
is going to require you

to roll up your sleeves

and get just a little dirty.

-Ooh.
-[designers oohing and laughing]

In this challenge, you'll be tasked
with cultivating and nurturing fashion

that grows on you...

Wow.

[Tan] ...because you are all designing with

flowers and plants.

[surprised cheering]

-Good, right?
-That's gonna be crazy. [chuckles]

The natural world has always been
a source of inspiration

for the world's biggest designers,

like the walking bouquet that Jeremy Scott
closed his Moschino show in. [laughs]

Why does that sound familiar?

[Gigi] I was once a full-on actual bouquet
on the runway.

[designers laughing] Yes.

This is a seriously technical challenge.

Flowers and plants can be
incredibly delicate and complex.

Your looks need to be inspired by nature

and should utilize and showcase
a plant or flower as its focal point.

But don't worry.
You will all get some help with this one.

For this challenge,
you will be working with...

[whimsical electronic music playing]

...each other!

-[designer 1 screams] What?!
-[designer 2] Stop it! I can't wait!

We will split you into two teams of five.

Each team will have to sketch, design,
and show four looks.

-Ooh.
-[designers, in commotion] Oh. What?!

-What?
-[Bao] Wait, but there's 11 of us.

I can see some of your math brains
are putting together

that there is 11 of you,

which means
that there cannot be two teams of five.

Oh.

Well, Deontré, remember that advantage
you won in the last challenge?

-[Deontré] Oh... [laughs]
-Bum bum bum! [laughs]

Once the teams are made,

you will get to choose
which team you're gonna go with.

-[designers, excitedly] Wow!
-Whoa.

-Deontré, please step forward.
-[designers laughing]

-[designer 1] Front and center!
-Excuse me.

[designer 2] Oh boy.

I've watched a lot
of competition TV shows.

-Big fan.
-She loves 'em.

-But the drama of picking teams...
-It's so exciting.

I don't know if we have time for that.

-[Tan] We don't?
-[Gigi] No.

-Shall I do a solve, quick?
-Yeah.

-[designers chuckle nervously] Oh.
-[designer 1] Oh my God.

[designers laughing]

-[Eliana] So dramatic!
-What's up?

-[designers groan and laugh]
-[designer 3] Oh my God!

[designer 4] All right, let's go.

Now this is... This is fire right here.

-Excited?
-[laughing] I'm excited.

Are you happy about it?
Do you like your two teams?

We love everybody.
We like it. We're vibing.

[sighs] This is so hard.

[sighs] Um, I think this team is strong
in the, like, you know, just vision,

but I feel like a couple designers
don't deliver as much as they should

from the first challenge.
Just speaking about that.

You speak your truth, D.

-[laughs]
-[Tan] Good for you.

With this team,
I think that they are amazing.

Their work speaks for itself,

but I think that the imagination
is gonna run too wild over here.

-So the team I'm joining...

I am happy with my decision.
The other team, it's a lot of big voices.

It's gonna be a lot of ideas,

and I really don't wanna be overshadowed
by what they bring to the table.

I don't have time to deal with that.
There's gonna be too much going on.

Honestly, I'll take it.

I'd rather have too many ideas
than not enough ideas.

Desyrée, do you feel like
you work well with teams?

-Oh, yeah. I played sports my whole life.
-Okay!

So I feel like we got this.

Basketball was my entire life.
For 20 years, that's what I did.

We won the conference championship,
went to the NCAA tournament.

So I've kinda always been
in that team atmosphere,

and so I know that communication
is number one to really be successful.

Your four looks
should feel like a mini collection.

They should feel cohesive,
and they should share a unified vision.

There will be
at least one member of the losing team

that will be going home.

-[sighs] Oh boy.
-[Tan] Yes.

You may have possibly noticed

that the closet
has been given a garden makeover.

[exciting jungle music playing]

-[designer 1] I know.
-[designer 2] Oh my.

-[designer 3] So cute.

[Tan] As always,
you don't have long to plant and prune

and produce these looks.

You will have seven hours today
and a few more tomorrow

to put together
your fantastically floral looks,

so I hope you are ready
to play with plants.

-[designers scream]
-[Tan] Hey! No, G! That's not your job.

-[Gigi] I just want one.

-I'm gonna put this in my hair.

-[Desyrée] Let's get to it.

-Oh my God.
-[Megan] Drag it, Amari.

[Amari] I'm not that strong!

-[Desyrée] Oh my goodness!
-We need as much bloom as possible.

Oh wow. It's a garden at our table!

[James] I had this idea.

My grandmother used to make me
mulch her garden every year,

and she had this cool garden in Kentucky,
and people would come and photograph it.

And I thought about, like, seed to bloom.

So I'm thinking about doing, like, a vest

and make one of the pockets,
like, actually filled with dirt.

I like that, but I'm also thinking

if we were able to make
a big-a*s, like, ball-gown skirt too.

Then we can use the banana leaves
and mold them into plant origami flowers.

Tan France, it's so crazy to see you here.

Do you come here often?

I do. I love this place, especially today.
We've got such a good challenge.

-[Gigi] I'm excited.
-We could make it clean and modern.

Just have, like, a tube.

[Godoy and Megan] Yeah.

Just a cute little bodice
with all the little flower things.

-Work. I love that.
-[Bao] We need a plant one, right?

[Godoy] Our team is getting along
very well.

We are actually blending
all of our ideas together,

which is kind of astonishing

because when you do have a lot
of creative people working together,

it tends to go chaotic.

We're just smooth
and badass and confident.

I couldn't ask for a better team.

It's interesting seeing the teams.

The designers have
so many different points of view.

-I wonder how they're gonna compromise.
-Totally.

[Tan] I worry that a couple of them
are gonna struggle.

So we're only doing four looks,
so I don't even know where I stand.

I feel a bit hesitant about this challenge

because everyone's a bit more outspoken
than I am.

The big finale,
it's gonna need a lot of work.

Okay, so I'm gonna team up with you?

I wanna work on my own look,
but I'm the compromise queen.

I grew up in Johns Creek, Georgia.

Being from a small town, I definitely have
more of a quieter personality.

Where I live, you're such in a bubble.

When you're in a smaller town,

it's like you see those things
in magazines and you dream of,

but you've never actually touched,

so it's daunting to be judged
up against so many amazing designers,

and I want to feel more confident
showing my work

instead of hiding behind the scenes.
So I need to make sure my voice is heard.

So I recently went
to the Bronx Botanical Gardens.

So I was thinking
I could create a structure

that would be pretty much
an actual walking sculpture of flowers.

-I can't visualize it.
-Yeah.

-Are you putting the flowers on, like, a...
-[Amari] On my structure.

-Okay.
-[James] Draw it?

[Amari] I don't think that
they're really understanding my vision,

but they need to trust me,
trust my vision, and trust my abilities

that I can get it done.

Maybe build a little bit
and show it to us.

-[Amari] I'll show you.
-[Desyrée] Let me see how y'all feeling.

-What y'all thinkin'?
-[Eliana] This is what I'm thinking.

It's like this mysterious man
who's leading these plant women

out of the garden or something.

So I was thinking
if she was from another planet,

I want her to look like an alien.

I also wanna play
with some type of fantasy type of thing.

I want, like,
something sprouting from them.

Looking at the flowers,
I'm thinking, "Here comes the groom."

Like, a lot of men don't wear veils,

so that would kind of be,
like, a new take on, you know, "next in."

How do y'all feel about the theme being,

like, Creatures of the Bloom,
Creatures of the Realm?

We play off that. Butterfly wings.
We got this alien guy that is the groom,

and it's his wedding.

I'm confused right now about the storyline
of our mini collection.

One minute, we call them creatures,
then we got a groom.

We can't have many stories.
We need one story.

It must make sense.

Let's make it come together.
Make sure it goes together.

[Deontré] Let's get to it.

-Yes, let's get to it.
-Let's do it.

The difficulty is
that they're using fresh flowers

that you can't sew.

Yeah, they should stay in water
until you're, like, ready to go.

They're gonna have to create a base

that is substantial enough
to carry these flowers,

and not just a dress
with a flower stuck on it.

-[Tan] Shall we go see what they're up to?
-[Gigi] Yeah.

-[Tan gasps] Oh my goodness me!

-Shall we go fix it?

Wanna do a strap, like a utility strap,
to, like, lock in your gardening tools?

I love it.

So for our collection,
James is gonna tackle our first look,

which is the gardener.

He's creating an updated utility vest
and a pair of matching shorts

that features live flowers.

[Godoy] What do you think?

[Megan] I mean,
I think it looks like a great beginning.

Look two is Godoy's
kind of c*ck dress,

which represents the bud of the flower
that is about to bloom.

The skirt is gonna mimic
the shape of a leaf,

but I'm making it like a petal as well,

so it's a petal leaf.

Look three is the beginning of the bloom.

Amari's halo is going to go on the top,

and we have a corset,
which is being made by Godoy,

with what I'm calling the petal pant.

And I'm also going to add flowers
into the seams.

I'm hoping to go for kind of like,
I guess, like a starburst effect

with the plant,
like, bursting out of the seam.

I'm working on me and Bao's moss-petal top

to go with her extravagant skirt.

[Megan] And our last look is kind of
our "Mother Nature, full-bloom" look,

which is being spearheaded
by Bao and Amari,

and we're using fiddle leaves to create
this really beautiful sweeping shape.

[Amari] So this, it doesn't match.
It does not work.

-[Godoy] Let's pick four fabrics.
-Okay, please.

And let's pick four colors
that we can all go with at least.

[Megan] Our key to cohesiveness

is having volume, color, fabric choice
continue throughout the collection.

[Gigi] Can you get that? There you go.

-[Amari] Wait, Tan, you sew?
-I sew! [chuckles]

[Amari] Okay!
No wonder you're the hostess!

-[laughs] I love "hostess."
-[Amari] All right!

-[Tan] That's right! [laughs]
-[Gigi] Hostesses with the mostest-es.

[Tan] Okay. Wonderful.

-Nailed it!
-Lovely.

-You're the most gorgeous seamstress.
-[Tan] Thanks so much.

[Desyrée] We're creating
Creatures of the Bloom,

so now we're just kind of leaning in that
now that we have our concept,

and I'm working
on the men's sketch that I had.

Me and Nigel, we are making a groom
with a pair of pants and a 20-foot veil.

His skin will actually be a bodysuit
covered in all flowers.

We're gonna try
to bring it down to the toes.

So you wanna work on the head,
the gloves, and the chest?

I can make it all one piece, probably.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah.

What I was thinking is just like this,
with some massive wings coming out.

The look that I'm gonna be creating
is this fantasy piece.

I wanna create these giant blooming,
like, wing type of leaves

sprouting from a nice gown.

Which one are you, the character?

The groom, the bride?

We're from a different planet,
so we're gonna create our own tradition.

-Oh, okay, I like that.
-[Deontré] Yeah.

-Okay. I was not informed. [chuckles]
-[Deontré] Sorry.

I missed it. [laughs]

You guys, there are only four hours left.

[Nigel] We gotta get this done.

[Eliana] This is the underbase.

And it's loose,
so it'll kinda have, like, a baggy effect.

-Yeah. It can be really cool.
-Snatch it in.

-Yeah. That can be cool.
-Oh, I love that.

Me and Eliana realized
that our silhouettes were similar,

so we decide that we're going
to tackle our dress together.

-Hey, Gigi, girl! How you doing?
-How you doing?

Good, I have my pattern pieces
cut out right now.

Good. What are we working on?

This corset that's gonna have,
like, an organza overlay.

-Okay, gorge.
-And we are creating...

You're doing the pieces,
then you're gonna bone it.

Yes.

For this dress,
we're using a metallic-y fabric

that kinda looks like a leaf,

and I'm creating a corset to put over top
because the shift dress is kinda baggy.

[Gigi] How are we gonna see you
in this design, do you feel?

I feel like you're gonna see me
in this corset

and just emphasizing on the curves.

-Yep.
-And maximizing the beauty of the body.

I do love unconventional materials.

I love making new textiles, manipulations.

Like, that's totally my world.

If I kind of do it
in the shape of the body, maybe...

I've never sewn with plants ever,

so I'm hoping that the grasses and things
that I'm loving

aren't gonna split as soon as I sew them

because they're fragile.

You stitch, they might be like,
"Nope," and split apart,

and I don't want that to happen.

I'm working on the base.

So this look is going to be
a minidress with a deep V

covered in over-the-top,
exaggerated flowers

with a long train of real vines.

I'm not too sure.

We're trying to complete the look first

and then kinda
create the story afterwards.

Yeah, I'm worried about this.

I need to feel
like there's a cohesive idea here.

I feel it's gonna make sense
when it hits the runway.

I kind of thought my team and I
were all on the same page,

and I'm hearing
about the mother of the bride,

this character, this character,
this wedding's going on.

Like, where'd all this come from?

-We need a powwow. We gotta reel it in.

I thought we knew that it was a groom.

-We knew it was a groom.
-Yeah.

We didn't know it was so literal.

We just thought it was
maybe, like, a wedding or something.

[Desyrée] So they're coming
to, like, a worldly wedding.

You have the flower girl,

you have the bridesmaids,
mother of the groom, and groom.

Yeah.

So we decided to sort of just kinda
focus on the idea of a wedding ceremony.

Would you be the bride, then?
Wings, that's, like...

-That's the bride.
-[Eliana] Yeah.

-All right.
-I'm the bride.

-Yeah, I'm the bride. [chuckles]
-We were discombobulated.

like, an actual halo from her straps.

I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone

because I don't really do
the sculptural stuff.

I'm kind of like sexy sleek.

You're doing something very ambitious.

Do you think it's gonna work?

I need to figure out
how can I construct this halo?

Because when I add the flowers,
it's gonna get heavy,

and I don't want it to collapse

I'm definitely being overly ambitious,

but my team, they see my vision now,

I've never worked
with real living plants and flowers.

It's not what I normally do.

My whole brand
is all about making women feel sexy,

but also sophisticated and expensive
in provocative new ways.

I wish I didn't do the moss.

Using the moss for the skirt,
it... it... it's not working.

What's happening?

[Bao] It's just bulky,

and it's just not looking
fitted and sculptural.

Oh my God.

I hate it.
I'm gonna go home because of it. [scoffs]

I... I'm... I'm stressed.

-Hey, can I ask you guys something?

[Bao] I am absolutely hating
that I used this moss.

-It's a hard fabric to work with.

The one I'm using for the petals,
use it as your skirt.

I'm so thankful for my team
because they're so emotionally supportive,

and that is the number-one ingredient
of an amazing team.

So are you gonna make an entire new skirt?

[Courtney] I'm getting a little, you know,
like it's coming down to the wire.

Courtney's dress is a big concern to me

because it's taken a lot of time
to put together.

[Courtney] This might need a strap.

It's taking more time than it should take.

we're trying to pitch in and help.

I'm getting the lining cut
for Court's minidress.

[Desyrée] I'm helping Courtney
with her sleeves,

so that we can just be prepped
and be ready to go for tomorrow.

The vibe that I'm getting from my team

is that they think they need
to "pick up the slack,"

and it's really condescending.

[Nigel] Got the vines ready
whenever we finish up on that.

I don't need them to help me.

I started sewing
at the back of my mom's house.

I quit my job.

I took my last paycheck,

and I bought two sewing machines,

and so I started selling dresses
on Instagram.

My clothes have been on celebrities
like Danielle Brooks, Lizzo,

and most recently, Miss Gloria Gaynor,

so I know what I'm doing.

[Nigel] Do the front.
I'll pull in the back.

-Yeah.

-[Nigel] This is some real labor.

[Tan] I just went to see
Team Seed to Bloom.

-I'm actually really impressed.

I'm gonna draw it.

So James's concept was so smart.
He has a real point of view.

Like, sew it here in a snap, and you just...

And then make sure... You know
when they have in the utility where... Yes!

[Tan] I think that Amari's taking on
more than she can handle.

She's taking on structure,
which ain't easy.

And then throw on top of that flowers.

I'm freaking out!
I'm out here sweating. [chuckles]

[Tan] They haven't actually
tested plants, flowers.

They haven't tested any of that.

[Godoy] I don't wanna cut the flowers.
Don't want 'em to die.

They're difficult materials.

Yeah, and heavy in ways
that I don't think that they're noticing.

-How 'bout yours?
-The concept is all over the place.

They're building pieces separately

and then gonna come up
with a story after, and that's gonna work?

If you don't have that one focal point,
you're stabbing in the dark.

Yeah.

The bride and the groom,
do they ever match?

-Yes!
-Oh. In our world?

In our world, who knows, right?

But I do really like
that male-bride concept.

I just think that Desyrée
had, like, the strongest idea,

and they're latching onto that

and making their story
make sense with that.

-[Nigel] How's it looking?
-[Desyrée] Fire.

[Eliana] I'm wondering
if we make it shorter.

-[Qaysean] A shorter... Like a underbust?
-Or take this off, more like a belt?

-Yeah.
-[Qaysean] Okay.

It's hard when it's not boned.
It's hard to tell.

[Qaysean] Yeah.

I'll finish it and bone it.
If we don't like it, we cut into it.

Okay, yeah. I agree.

[Qaysean] Having that corset snatched
on the waist

will showcase not only my skills,
but also my concepts,

and it's the only thing I've designed,
so I have to fix this.

I have to have something great
that goes down the runway.

Tomorrow, it's gonna be difficult
because not only do we have four hours,

we have to have everything together
in four hours. Includes adding flowers.

Eliana decided to scrap the entire corset.

We can just serge the edge and sew it,
and then just top-stitch on both sides.

So I really wanna do a more simplified
silhouette for the dress.

In a collection
that has all these grand things,

it's nice to have this moment of pause,

where you can appreciate
a different type of "wow."

I just think that it's important that
we support each other through our visions,

so I'm gonna bring out my technical side

and lay down the leaves

and make sure that they're telling
the story that we wanna tell.

[Eliana] That's better.
It's way more intentional.

and it looks amazing,

is Wear the Earth.

That means that each
of the designer's looks

will all feature real plant material.

will not be judging these looks alone.

Returning once again
is stylist to the stars...

She is the cofounder
of her own lifestyle brand,

and she's also a founding member
of the OG supermodels.

Helena, thank you so much for joining us.

We know that you spend
a lot of time outside of the city,

and we wanna know
how does nature inspire you creatively?

Everything about who I am
is inspired by nature.

I'm so excited to see the outfits.

[Gigi] I'm impressed that we can see
more flowers than fabric.

[Jason] The dress seems a bit basic.

[Tan] It should still blossom
without the flowers.

-[Gigi] Have to make sure it fits perfect.
-[Tan] I love the sleeve shape.

-It's really pretty.
-Love the train.

-[Jason] Yeah.
-[Tan] Yeah.

-This is actually kinda sick.

It's giving wedding.
It looks like a wedding.

[Gigi] This is really cool.

This was meant to have a corset
on top of it that Qaysean was making,

so I wonder where that went.

[Jason] This feels so chic and so modern,

and you can see this
in so many different ways.

Almost like a flower dragon.

[Tan] You can see so much
of the cage underneath.

-I wish we couldn't see the cage clearly.
-[Gigi] Yeah, yeah.

So this is what they're calling
"Here comes the groom."

Most designers finish in a wedding gown,
and it's always a woman.

This is so fantastic.

Four looks, but I don't know
if they tell the same story.

You're right. It might not go together
so well as a collection,

but I love every piece on its own.

[designers cheering]

That was good.

[stage manager] Okay, stand by.

-Seed the garden! Yay!

That's so cool. I would wear that.

[Gigi] I would wear that set
on the street, in the city.

-I'd wear it at the farm.

-[teammate] Oh my God!

I just saw the flowers on the other side.
That's really pretty.

For me, this is just a pretty dress...
that somebody stuck flowers on.

-[Tan] I love the pant.

[Helena] It's probably very heavy
and unstable.

-[Tan] I'm not angry at that.

-I would wear those pants.

[Tan] The skirt is beautiful.

[chuckling] It did not look like that
yesterday, or even this morning.

Do you see the fabric,
like, seeping through?

[Helena] I love how the fabric
is like another part of the leaves.

It's actually straight out of nature.

[Gigi] They all have the orange pocket.

The orange coming through,
the orange makeup.

[Helena] The neon green.

[Jason] His bow tie is moss.
The trimming on the glove is moss.

The story is cohesive.

Yeah, it is.

All right, guys, please tell us
the beautiful story of your collection.

[upbeat music playing]

[James] We wanted to take you guys
to our whimsical garden

and, really, the story
we're trying to tell here

is the seeds you plant will bloom.

[Gigi] How do you guys feel
that you worked together?

Any struggles?

I think we all checked in on each other,
and we worked pretty cohesive,

and I think that shows
with our collection.

Okay, let's start with our gardener.

[pop music playing]

James, it's so clear you had a story.
It wasn't just,

"I wanna make something nice,
something cool, something chic."

You told a whole story in one look.

I think it's wonderful.

I really like this look.

I love the fabric
that the pockets are made out of,

and the moss goes
throughout the bow tie, the gloves.

Very cool.

I'm up and close, and I see the rosettes.

Being able to use everything that
you could possibly think of from nature

is great, and it's very well thought out.

[gasps, laughs]

-[Tan laughs]
-It's really, really strong.

Thank you so much. I'm blown away, truly.

Godoy, the top, fit is a little off,
which is strange.

Your outfit in the last challenge
was perfection with that fit,

so I was surprised
to see that this was yourlook.

[Gigi] It's the most simple.

I'm proud of you for going simple.

It feels refined,

but I think that when you do go simple,
you have to make sure the fit's perfect.

Absolutely.

[pop music playing]

[Tan] Who worked on this one?

It was Megan's pants,
my top, Amari's halo.

I have two words.

-British Vogue. Cover.
-[teammates cheer]

[Jason] It is a cover.

It is giving me all I need.

It's ready to wear,
but it's still very couture,

and then that headpiece,
there's something very cultural about it.

There's so many
different people and nations

that you're speaking to in this look,

and I just think it is sick.

-Oh my God! Thank you!
-I love the leaves.

The waxiness of them is really great
because it's almost a fabric in itself.

The way that they have the veins
coming through.

-Thank you, girl!
-And I love the pants.

-Thank you.
-[Helena] And I love the orange.

The color is so good.

It's... Sometimes, orange
can be a difficult color,

but that's a really good burnt orange.

-Thank you.
-[Tan] The top, Godoy...

-...is gorgeous.
-...is so lovely.

I don't know if you planned it this way,

but it actually does look like bark,
which I think is so smart.

Okay, we're moving on to the finale look.

Bao, yesterday,
you were flapping a little bit,

and I really didn't know
what you were gonna churn out.

But, my God, you impressed us.

[Jason] The idea that you had to,
like, lay the actual fabric in there...

[Gigi] It's genius.

You married it so well.

-Thank you.
-[Jason] It is so beautiful.

[Gigi] When your model walked out
on the runway, I literally... I gasped.

It took my breath away.
She looked comfortable.

She looked major. She looked hot.

You brought your talent
in laying things on a woman's body

so beautifully
with such a difficult material.

I just loved this.

[Gigi] I love the color.

I think it's so fresh that you guys
brought a pop of orange into this look,

and then also you kept incorporating that,
and not just with the orange,

with your moss bow, the moss belt.

I just loved that you could feel
parts of each look in the other ones.

We loved the storytelling
of your collection.

We feel that there could've been details

that were better tailored
or better thought out,

but overall, you guys blew us away.

Tell us the story of this collection.

We have created for you
a wedding ceremony.

So we were kind of pulling silhouettes
from, like, weddings,

so a veil.

We have, like, a blooming bride,

kind of loose, abstract interpretation
of this garden world

they're living in.

And how did you work as a team?

-We worked as a team well.
-Yeah.

-I feel we did...
-Great job, to be honest.

-I feel someone's lying.
-I know.

-[designers laugh nervously]
-[Tan] Okay, the first look.

Who worked on this one?

-Myself and Nigel.
-So... Yeah.

[powerful music playing]

So the actual shape of the dress
is not something truly that special.

Thank God that you had the flowers
because now it did something else.

-Who did the flower work today?
-That's Nigel.

I wish you'd worked with Nigel
on the flowers

to really make it your vision also.

I was very impressed

of how the little leaves
were sewn on individually.

-I thought that was fabric.
-[Qaysean] Yeah!

I love the iridescent fabric
under the matte of those leaves.

It really made your details pop.

Qaysean, I was really excited
about your corset.

I know.

When it walked out, I was like...
[mimics crying] "Where's the corset?"

Eliana, I trusted her vision,

and when we put the corset on,
the vibes just wasn't marrying together.

Once I saw where she was going,
I jumped into the back,

and then I just created the vibes,
you know?

He did the entire back.
Yeah, it was definitely a team effort.

[upbeat music playing]

Deontré, I really loved the shape
of that magnificent top to the waist,

and then the way
you guys laid the flowers down the side

is so beautiful.

Yeah.

What I didn't like is that
the skirt felt like the afterthought

because I know you spent so much time
on the wings.

That underskirt was so distracting
because all I see is cage,

and it makes the fabric seem really cheap.

The fabric choice was the wrong choice.

At some point, we are dying to know
what the face is under there.

How do you feel in there? Are you okay?

-Do you need water?
-[all laugh]

[Tan] Desyrée,

Nigel,

I love it.

-Cool.
-[teammates laugh]

[Tan] I love the colors
that you've used in the top.

I love the pant so much,

and I love
that you covered the face and used a veil.

I even like that you started really heavy

at the back of the veil
with your placement of the plant,

and then they dispersed up top.

It's a really beautifully considered look.

This is a very unique outfit.

The shoes, the fact that they're covered,
absolutely made it.

-Yeah.
-So sick. So sick.

-[Helena] Yeah.

Okay, here's the deal.

I can tell
that you were working quite individually.

It didn't feel like a cohesive collection.

That looks like a mini collection.

-It's cohesive now. Cohesive.
-Yeah, now it works.

But they're two collections.
It was meant to be one.

[Gigi] Instead of the pinks and the reds,

like, maybe what would've made it
come together more

is if you just stuck with those cool tones
and put the cool tones throughout.

[Tan] Okay, you can go back, models.

Deontré, you got to join the team
that you wanted to join.

I wanna know from you, honestly,
what were the issues in the team?

In the beginning, we had a lot of ideas,

all trying to get our voices heard,

and I think we just struggled
with the vision

and with the direction we wanted to go in.

I am nervous as hell right now.

The judges didn't see me
on that runway at all.

-Thank you so much.

But I still have so much to offer here.
I don't wanna go home tonight.

Who do we think was the best team?

-Listen...
-I think we know that.

-Yeah.
-Seed to Bloom.

Let's just talk about our losing team.

Qaysean didn't show himself enough.

I'm glad that he was a team player,

but I can't look at that collection
and see him.

I also think that Deontré,

what he brought tonight that was exciting

was the shape of that top.

But pretty much everything below that
was crap.

[Tan] The skirt was just so bad,

it kind of negated
all the good work up top.

Courtney has now brought us two looks
that were very basic.

Who's going home, you guys?

This is about watering the seeds,
if you will, into seeing the growth.

I feel there's a moment
where there still some growth.

At the end of the day,
all of us can't stay here.

We needed something
that would really inspire us,

and it didn't, Courtney.

You gave us a dress. That's it.

And the component that we needed
for this challenge, the flowers,

was something
that Nigel ended up putting on.

I know that I could've given it more,
but it's not over for me.

You have so much magic to bring the world,

and we hope that you can share
what you share with us as a person.
