They need energy to migrate.

- Buzzy, migrating is what they do when they leave here

and go to their winter home,

where it's a lot warmer than here.

- You're right, it is getting cold.

And windy.

Maybe we should migrate.

- When the season changes, it's goodbye duckies.

They head off to find food

and a nice cozy place to raise their kiddies.

- But how do they know

when it's exactly the right time to leave?

- They just do, but they always come back every year.

Same thing at the same time.

- Enough!

How's the Genius of Cyberspace supposed to concentrate

with all that quacking?

- I don't know, let's ask him.

Where is he?

- Sorry for all the noise, Boss, but the ducks are excited.

They start their migration tomorrow!

- Yeah, they're flying to their winter home.

- And when they come back

they'll be refreshed, stronger than ever,

and have more energy than when they left.

- Refreshed, stronger, full of energy?

- Like super ducks!

- Hm, if I felt like that,

I could take over Cyberspace once and for all!

- Um, I can't, Boss.

Only the ducks know where they're going.

- Then follow them.

Can't do this on Earth, that's for sure.

It's always been my dream to migrate like a real bird.

And I'm happy to share it with my best buds.

How do they know to do that?

- Easy.

Once we birds fly a certain path,

which we call a route, we remember it.

But we also use the sun and stars,

even landmarks to guide us.

- Well, Control Central must be one of those landmarks,

- And right now we're heading south.

those Earth kids are flying with the flock.

- Looks like it's using that sparkly star to guide them.

- According to the map, that's the Southern Sparkle.

- Um, that was the Southern Sparkle.

- Oh, looks like the ducks are confused!

This is not good, not good at all!

If the ducks can't see the Southern Sparkle,

they can't tell where they're going!

- The migration is in big trouble.

- Check that, the migration is not in trouble.

- I hate to say this,

but I don't think that light is the Southern Sparkle.

- What else could it be?

- The Southern Sparkle

is supposed to be in the southern sky, right?

But that light is in the western sky.

- That means the ducks are following the wrong lights!

- And going in the wrong direction.

The Didge is on it.

[engine whirring]

- Um, oh no!

My duckies are migrating west instead of south!

I gotta help 'em!

Hold on, duckies, DeeDee's coming!

[both grunting]

- No way, DeeDee!

Let the Earth kids help 'em.

Turn back, you're going in the wrong direction!

- The ducks aren't listening!

- They're still following that light.

- Whatever it is, we've got to find it and turn it off.

[Digit gasping]

- [Digit] It's a skyway light!

[tense music]

- The ducks are headed straight for all that traffic!

- We can't let that happen, come on!

- Looks like the wind turn the light around.

- We can't shut it off, they need the light on the skyway.

- But it's shining up into the sky!

[ducks quacking]

- [Matt] We got to do something, now!

- If we could just turn it back around...

- Matt, don't touch it, it's too hot!

If we can loop my measuring tape around the light,

maybe we can pull it into position.

- Great idea, Jacks.

- The ducks are getting closer!

so they can finish their migration.

There's one for geese near my farm.

- A rest stop, yeah.

A nice place for our ducky friends to grab a bite to eat,

and a few winks of shut eye.

[ducks quacking]

- Sleep, yes.

Taking a swim, no way.

- The eating part looks like a problem, too.

- If there's no food or water,

they won't be able to get ready

for the rest of the migration!

[Ellerd quacking]

- Don't worry, little guy.

We'll figure out something.

- I'm so worried about my duckies.

They have no food or water!

- I'm more worried about what the Boss will do

if your ducks don't reach wherever they're going.

- But if they don't have food,

they'll never make it through the rest of their migration.

I gotta do something!

- DeeDee, we can't get involved.

- DeeDee, wait!

[ducks quacking]

- I can't find anything for the ducks to drink.

- Nothing around here for them to eat, either.

- Oh, what are we gonna do?

wouldn't it be grand if there was Earth kids around?

I see we have a few problems.

- Usually I would disagree with everything you say, Delete,

- Well, Delete knows just what they like to eat.

- They'll eat delicious duck food, oats and corn!

oats and corn around here?

- Just so happens, we saw a farm back that way.

And, uh, how are the ducks supposed to get to it?

I was gonna play in the Cyberburg Soccer Championship.

My first time playing,

I was so scared and nervous, I didn't want to play.

But Motherboard told me she'd be there,

and if I felt nervous, to just look for her.

She believed in me 'till I was able to believe in myself.

By the way, I scored the winning goal.

We migrating birds need all the rest we can get.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

- They look brand new,

so maybe they weren't here last time

the ducks migrated this way!

- Guys, look at all those windows!

- We gotta let the birds know these are windows.

Not real sky, or they might try to fly through it.

- Oh, I once put stickers on my bedroom window

so the birds wouldn't fly into it.

- Where are we gonna get stickers up here?

- Never fear, the Didge is here!

All we have to do is stick 'em on the windows.

- There's sticky notes in each pack.

- At last, I have located the secret

to the ducks' renewed strength and energy!

so I can be strong, powerful!

Like these ducks.

- But, Boss.

- Where's my refreshed strength and energy?

refreshed, stronger, and full of energy

because their winter home has all the food

and warm weather they need?

just know the Didge is with you.

- Your grandmother's flowers are so pretty!

- I know, look!

A swallowtail.

I love seeing butterflies drink nectar from the flowers.

I have a surprise to show you.

- I love surprises, what is it?

- Follow me.

- Ooh, Monarch butterflies!

- Aren't they beautiful?

- Yeah, but shouldn't they be flying around outside?

I never heard of having butterflies as pets.

- You're right, they're not pets.

But first school project I recorded their metamorphosis

from caterpillars to adults.

- Cool.

- I wanted you to celebrate with me when I set them free.

- That's exciting, thanks.

How did you help them grow?

- Do you see this plant?

It's milkweed, that's the key.

- Doesn't milk come from cows and goats?

- That's true.

This plant doesn't produce milk,

but it does provide caterpillars with the food they need

to grow into adult Monarch butterflies.

- How long does it take for them to grow?

- Only days.

After eating a lot of milkweed,

caterpillars turn into a chrysalis, you know, a cocoon.

Then it comes out as a butterfly.

- See, that's awesome.

- I know!

What's even more awesome is that every fall

butterflies migrate from where we live, up north,

miles to spend a winter in the warmth of Mexico.

- Migrate?

- As the seasons change,

butterflies move from one place to another

to find food and places to lay their eggs.

- I can't believe that.

- When it gets warm again up north in the spring,

butterflies that grew up in Mexico

fly miles back this way.

Caterpillars are going to need to eat

a lot of milkweed along the migration route,

so we're gonna help them out.

- Should we pack them milkweed sandwiches

to put in tiny lunch boxes?

- We're going to plant milkweed in my grandmother's garden.

- Oh, so the butterflies can lay eggs on the leaves,

that way the caterpillars could start eating and growing.

Let's do that!

- But first, let's release these butterflies.

- Three, two, one.

- [Both] Bye!

- Yeah, that's perfect.

- I'm going to miss the Monarchs.

- Maybe they'll hang around and lay eggs on this plant.

Then more caterpillars will turn into butterflies.

- That's what I'm hoping.

And then it's off to Mexico!
