One of my piano strings snapped.

But I have something else that might work.

Ta-da! It's a marimba!

Marin-what? That's not a piano.

Marimba.

It's a lot like a piano.

You see these wooden bars?

If they were black and white, they'd look like big piano keys.

But these bars don't press down like a piano.

That's because you don't play a marimba with your fingers.

You play it with these.

They're called mallets, see?

[plays tune]

The marimba can play the same notes,

but the sound is different.

It's kind of like the note sounds softer, too.

But is it too soft and ping-ping-sounding?

It's okay.

We'll play the song in a softer, lighter style.
