CARL: The stickers are organized into special
CARL: categories.
CARL: These are the puffy stickers.
FORREST: Ooo!
CARL: These are the googly eyes.
SHELDON: Coolness!
CARL: These are the fuzzies...
FORREST: Look at THAT one!
CARL: I keep the sticker-backs on, and put
CARL: them in these protective sleeves so they
CARL: never lose their sticker-stickiness!
FORREST: You don't ever stick them anywhere, Carl?
CARL: I have only made one exception, Forrest. The
CARL: glow-in-the-dark planets and stars.
CARL: They need to be exposed to light to glow. So, I stuck
CARL: them on my ceiling, and now they get light all day,
CARL: and glow every night!
SHELDON/FORREST: Whoa!/Wow!
CARL: There are more than billion stars in the Milky
CARL: Way galaxy. My ceiling does not have that many yet.
CARL: But I'll keep working on it.
CARL: That brings us to the glitter stickers, the rainbow
CARL: series, and, the last, and MOST special of all...
CARL: ...the scratch 'n' sniffs!
SHELDON: I love the pizza one!
FORREST: Watermelon all the way!
SHELDON: Can I please smell the bubblegum sticker, Carl?
CARL: Yes, Sheldon. Here, let me take it out for you.
[Scratching]
SHELDON: [deep sniff]
SHELDON: WHOA! It smells exactly like sweet, chewy,
SHELDON: pink, bubbly bubble gum!
[Scratching]
FORREST: [sniff] No way! Does it taste like gum too?
CARL: I don't think so. It's strictly for smelling
CARL: purposes only.
FORREST: Carl, can I get a waft of the root beer?
CARL: Yes, Forrest.
CARL: Here ya go.

FORREST: Mmm-MMM! It smells exactly like ice cold, frosty
FORREST: root beer! Dee-licious.
[scratching & sniffing]
SHELDON: THAT is a really good one.
CARL: Just wait till you smell my very favorite
CARL: of them all. It's the last one in the whole
CARL: collection.
CARL: The SOUR PICKLE!
SHELDON/FORREST: Awesome! / I love pickles!

CARL: Just one sniff of this, and you'll feel like you're
CARL: on Planet Pickle.

CARL: Well hello, Planet Pickle!

CARL: Aahh...
CARL: Okay. Prepare yourselves for this!
CARL: [big sniff]
CARL: Huh?
[scratching]
[big sniff]
CARL: Oh noooo...
CARL: Oh oh, no-no-no-no-no!
SHELDON: Carl? What is it, buddy?
FORREST: Can we get a sniff, too?
CARL: That's just it.
CARL: There's nothing to sniff!
CARL: [Sniff]
CARL: Zilch.
[scratching and sniffing]
CARL: Zero.

CARL: Nothing! The scratch and sniff sticker has lost
CARL: its smell!
CARL: [stimming] [♪]
SHELDON: Carl, are you okay?
FORREST: Your face is kinda scrunched up, and your hands
FORREST: are kinda fist-y. And you're breathing kinda
FORREST: hard.
SHELDON: It looks like you're upset.
CARL: Yes. I AM upset. My Sour Pickle sticker doesn't
CARL: smell like sour pickles anymore!
FORREST: It's a total bummer.
CARL: YES. I want that sticker to get its smell
CARL: back! There MUST be a way to fix this!
SHELDON: Well, I'm not really sure if a scratch 'n' sniff
SHELDON: sticker can get its smell back. But we can TRY!
FORREST: Yeah, let's try!
CARL: Okay! Science tells us
CARL: that a scratch 'n' sniff's
CARL: smell is released by the act of scratching. So
CARL: maybe we're just not scratching hard enough.
FORREST: Yeah, let's scratch harder!
CARL: Let's ALL take a turn scratching, and see what we
CARL: smell after THAT!

SHELDON: Eh-eh-eh-EH!
FORREST: Scratcha scratcha scratcha...scratchaaaa!

CARL: [sniff, sniff]
CARL: Still nothing! Aghhhh!
SHELDON: Aw, Carl. You still look upset.
CARL: No. Now I'm VERY upset!
SHELDON: I get it. We all tried scratching really hard
SHELDON: to get the smell back, but it didn't work. And...
SHELDON: ...we kinda wore the sticker down.
CARL: There just HAS to be a way to get that sour pickle
CARL: smell back! And I think I know what it might be!
CARL: To the kitchen!
SHELDON/FORREST: To the kitchen!
[♪]
CARL: Every summer, my mama takes cucumbers from our
CARL: garden, and uses pickling spices to make our
CARL: own pickles!
FORREST: Pickles are made from cucumbers? What a wild,
FORREST: wild world.
CARL: They are. My idea is if we use the exact same
CARL: pickling spices Mama uses to make pickles, maybe
CARL: we can pickle this sticker!
SHELDON: Well, I don't really know if a sticker is
SHELDON: something you can pickle? But let's give it a
SHELDON: try!
FORREST: Do you remember exactly what goes in your
FORREST: mom's pickle recipe, Carl?
CARL: I do remember. Exactly!
[♪]
[drawer opening] [♪]
FORREST: Let's DO this.
[♪]
CARL: A quarter cup of sea salt, five garlic cloves, a
CARL: teaspoon of coriander, a teaspoon of black pepper,
CARL: half a teaspoon of mustard seed and dill, and
CARL: Mom's newest addition to the recipe: a half
CARL: teaspoon of cardamom.
FORREST: Whose mom?
CARL: Cardamom is a spice. My mama didn't used to put it in
CARL: her pickle recipe, but she changes it a little every
CARL: year. And the pickles get a little yummier each
CARL: time.
[grinding]
SHELDON: Okay. The pickle spices are all good to go.
CARL: Okay! Let's put the sticker in and mix it all up.
[♪]
[♪] [grinding]
SHELDON: Whaddaya think?
FORREST: You ready to give it the ol' sniff-test?
[♪ drum roll ]
CARL/SHELDON/FORREST: [big sniffs]
CARL/SHELDON/FORREST: AAAAAAAHH -CHOOOOOOOOO!
CARL: That doesn't smell like my old sour pickle
CARL: scratch 'n' sniff sticker! Not at all!
FORREST: It does make me crave delicatessen though.
SHELDON: And the sticker is so worn down now...I'm sorry
SHELDON: it didn't work. It was a really good idea, Carl!
FORREST: Yeah, and now we know how to make homemade
FORREST: pickles!

CARL: [angry grunt] I am very, VERY upset.
CARL: There HAS to be a way to get that sour pickle smell
CARL: back.
SHELDON: Sounds like you are very set on getting that
SHELDON: pickle smell back.
CARL: Yes! I am determined to fix this.
SHELDON: Well, I believe in you, Carl.

CARL: I have an idea!
[running footsteps]
CARL: What if we drop the sour pickle sticker...
CARL: ...into a jar of sour pickles! It's filled with
CARL: liquid pickle juice! That way, the
CARL: sticker would surely get its smell back! It just
CARL: makes sense.
SHELDON: Yeah! Sometimes when I go swimming, I smell like
SHELDON: the pool all day. It just might work!
FORREST: Pickle pool, here we come!
[jar lid opening]
[♪ Bongos drumming ]
CARL: And now, I, Carl, in an effort to restore my favorite
CARL: sour pickle sticker BACK to its former glory,
CARL: shall drop it into a jar of actual sour pickles.
CARL: Countdown!
CARL/SHELDON/FORREST: Three...two...one...drop off!
[descending whistle]
CARL: Oh no! It's broken to pieces!
FORREST: It's gone.
SHELDON: I'm really sorry, Carl.
CARL: But Planet Pickle...

CARL: Woahhhhhh!
[Carl stimming] [♪]
SHELDON: Carl, buddy - are you upset?

FORREST: Are you VERY upset?

CARL: My Sticker Collection is ruined. My favorite
CARL: scratch 'n' sniff is GONE. It will never be the
CARL: same.
SHELDON: Wait a minute! Don't give up yet! Be right back!

FORREST: I wonder where Sheldon is go-
SHELDON: Carl!
SHELDON: [out of breath]

SHELDON: Here is something from MY
SHELDON: sticker collection. I know it isn't sour pickle,
SHELDON: but it might be worth a sniff.

CARL: That was very nice of you, Sheldon, but hot
CARL: buttered popcorn is not my sour pickle sticker.
[♪ synthesizer melody ]
SHELDON: That's true, it's not.
CARL: It's not gonna transport me to Planet Pickle...
SHELDON: It probably won't.
CARL: And on behalf of sour pickle lovers everywhere, I
CARL: don't even think I should scratch and sniff it.
SHELDON: I respect your choice.
FORREST: Can I scratch and sniff it, Sheldon?
SHELDON: Sure, you can.

FORREST: Ooo, scrumpy-doo-dah-DAY! That
FORREST: smells exactly like poppity popcorn-y goodness!
SHELDON: It's definitely one of my favorites.

SHELDON: Mmm-mm! Are you sure you don't want a sniff,
SHELDON: Carl?
FORREST: Even a little sniff, Carl?
CARL: Maybe a little sniff might be okay. But ONLY a

CARL: Mmm, popcorn! Such buttery goodness!

SHELDON: Well, whaddaya think?
FORREST: It's totally rad, right?
SHELDON: Do you ever think it could ever be a part of your
SHELDON: sticker collection?
CARL: I think this sticker will never be my sour pickle
CARL: sticker. But maaaybe that doesn't mean the whole
CARL: collection is ruined. Maybe it's just as good, even
CARL: if it changes.
SHELDON: Yeah, and collections always change!
SHELDON: Like the way you took your glow-in-the-dark
SHELDON: planets and stars out of the album and put them
SHELDON: on the ceiling.
FORREST: Or your mom's pickles! Every time your mom
FORREST: adds a new pickle spice, they're just as
FORREST: good or even better.
CARL: Yes. And this will start a new category in my
CARL: sticker collection -- the stickers that came from
CARL: my best friends. Thank you, Sheldon!
SHELDON: You bet, Carl.
FORREST: Um...can we make popcorn now? I'm really
FORREST: having a craving!
SHELDON/CARL: Yeah!/ Sounds great!

CARL: The Baby Stuff Collection.

CARL: I remember that song, Lotta. But I've never heard

LOTTA: It was one of my favorites when I was a baby.
LOTTA: Even though that was SUCH a long time ago. But now
LOTTA: I put my own spin on it!
CARL: It was a Lotta Original. And a lot of
CARL: original, too. Ha-ha. I'm so glad you're staying
CARL: over tonight!
LOTTA: I have everything we need for our sleepover: my
LOTTA: fuzzy pajamas, my special blanket, and my
LOTTA: toothbru - wait a minute.
LOTTA: Wuhhh boy...I think I forgot to bring my
LOTTA: toothbrush...Ohhh...
CARL: Don't worry, Lotta! I happen to have an extensive
CARL: toothbrush collection!
LOTTA: You have a collection for EVERYTHING!
CARL: You can pick out ANY one you want.
CARL: To have. Forever.
LOTTA: Ooo! Really?
CARL: Except the glow-in-the-dark one.
LOTTA: I think I'd like the green plaid one!
CARL: Okay. The green plaid one.
LOTTA: This is the nicest, kindest, Carl-est thing to
LOTTA: do! It means so much to me. Thank you.
CARL: I had to do it, Lotta. For toothbrush lovers
CARL: EVERYWHERE!
CARL: And for clean teeth!

LOTTA: Yes.
CARL: That blanket looks like you've had it for a looong

LOTTA: Oh, I have! This is my baby blanket, Softy. I've had
LOTTA: it since I was a baby.
LOTTA: Even though, that was SUCH a long time ago.

CARL: of baby stuff? It's stuff I've had since I was a
CARL: baby, too, hence the name.
LOTTA: Eee! I'd LOVE to see your collection of baby stuff!
CARL: Okay! I'll get it.

CARL: A pair of binoculars to see far away, a magnifying
CARL: glass to see close up, a camera for pictures, and a
CARL: notebook to write things down.
LOTTA: [walkie talkie sound]
LOTTA: Operation Knit-Knit Mystery is in full
LOTTA: effect. [walkie talkie sound]
CARL: Now, I'll spread out my Knit-Knit right here. And we
CARL: will hide, and spy, and SEE who's been messing with
CARL: it.

CARL: Ugh. We've been sitting here SO LONG, and haven't

LOTTA: It's impressive!
CARL: Yes. If anyone lays ONE hand on my blankie -

LOTTA: Don't worry, Carl. There's still a good chance
LOTTA: we are going to catch that blankie bandit.

LOTTA: Carl! I hear something coming! Shhh !

CARL: Hold it right there, Blanket Bandit!
LOTTA: We caught you!

CARL: ...Mama?
MAMA: Lights out, Carl. And that means flashlights, too,
MAMA: okay?
CARL: Okay, Mama.
MAMA: Goodnight, you two.
CARL/LOTTA: Goodnight, Mama./Good night, Ms. Carl's
CARL/LOTTA: Mom.
CARL: Well, Lotta, now it's bedtime. And STILL no sign of
CARL: the Blankie Bandit anywhere!
LOTTA: Maybe if we get a good night's sleep, we can try
LOTTA: again tomorrow...[sigh]
CARL: Maybe , or...we watch and wait.

LOTTA: Good morning, Carl! Did you sleep okay?
CARL: Good morning, Lotta. I wish I could say I slept

CARL: I watched and waited for a long time, and I
CARL: haven't seen anything.

CARL: Let's go find that bird and get it back!

LOTTA: I don't.
LOTTA: But I think I might hear her.
LOTTA: If only we could get somewhere high up, so we
LOTTA: could see her.
CARL: Ah-HA!
CARL: Oh, I SEE that bird now! And I see my blankie
CARL: thread in its beak! This is an outrage!
LOTTA: Carl, that is a female Baltimore Oriole. It looks
LOTTA: like she is using the threads from your Knit-Knit
LOTTA: to make a nest.
CARL: How do you know that?
LOTTA: I like studying birds. I have a whole collection of
LOTTA: glass birds in my room.
CARL: A collection?
LOTTA: Yes. Orioles finish their nests by making them
LOTTA: extra soft on the inside, just before the mama
LOTTA: lays her eggs.
CARL: It is extra soft and warm. No wonder they want my
CARL: blanket in there. But... I want it, too!
CARL: Wait a minute! I have an idea! To the collections!
LOTTA: To the collections!
CARL: This is my Feather Collection.
CARL: My idea is, if a bird likes a soft blanket, maybe a
CARL: bird will REALLY like soft feathers.
LOTTA: Wow! Carl, you have a collection for EVERYTHING!
CARL: Yes. I do really like my feather collection the way
CARL: it is...
CARL: But I think my feathers would make the nest extra
CARL: soft and warm for the babies.
LOTTA: It will! It will!
CARL: Everyone needs a soft, warm place of their own.
CARL: Just like you need Softy, and I need Knit-Knit.

CARL: It worked!
LOTTA: Those baby orioles are going to have the softest,
LOTTA: warmest nest that any bird has ever known.
CARL: I can't wait till the eggs hatch! But I will...

CARL: Mama totally repaired the moon's face for me. And
CARL: she added this new little bird, too!
