MS. HUFFMAN: Thank you, Mr. Kelly, for having me in your
MS. HUFFMAN: class today!
MS. HUFFMAN: I am Ms. Huffman, and I'm here from the
MS. HUFFMAN: Fuzzytown Historical Museum!
CARL/FORREST/ARUGULA/NICO: Hi, Ms. Huffman!
CARL: And Ms. Huffman is also a librarian!
MS. HUFFMAN: [gentle laugh] Yes, I am a librarian too.
MS. HUFFMAN: Thanks, Carl!
MS. HUFFMAN: Good morning, class! First, can anyone tell
MS. HUFFMAN: me what an archaeologist is?
MS. HUFFMAN: Arugula.
ARUGULA: Archeologists are scientists who study life in
ARUGULA: the past by digging for things left behind. Like
ARUGULA: old tools or pottery. Also, when I grow up, I'm
ARUGULA: going to be an archaeologist!
MS. HUFFMAN: Great answer, Arugula! And that's a very
MS. HUFFMAN: impressive goal. Archaeologists are smart,
MS. HUFFMAN: patient, and brave scientists!
ARUGULA: Brave?
MS. HUFFMAN: Indeed! Now, can anyone tell me what an
MS. HUFFMAN: artifact is?
MS. HUFFMAN: Carl?
CARL: An artifact is an object, like a tool, that was
CARL: used by someone who lived in the past.
MS. HUFFMAN: That's right, Carl! All of the objects I
MS. HUFFMAN: brought with me today are artifacts from
MS. HUFFMAN: Fuzzytown's past! Come take a closer look.
SHELDON: Whoa! What is that thing?!
CARL: It's an old telephone.
ARUGULA: A phone? It's huge!
SHELDON: And it has a curly tail! [Laughs]
CARL: Mama would LOVE these clay pots.
ARUGULA: Ooh. They're pretty.
ARUGULA: Wow! Isn't this old map of Fuzzytown the most
ARUGULA: beautiful thing you've ever seen?
NICO: Not really. I don't even think our house is on there.
NICO: Is it lunchtime yet?
[School bell ring]
NICO: Saved by the bell! Let's go eat!
[♪]
ARUGULA: Hmm.
[♪]
ARUGULA: Do you want to play archeologist with me today?
NICO: Digging for old stuff sounds kind of boring to me.
NICO: Besides, I'm going to the skate park with Forrest.
NICO: Do you want to come with us?
ARUGULA: No, thanks. I don't like going to the skate park.
ARUGULA: It's always crowded and I'm afraid of getting
ARUGULA: knocked over by the other skaters.
ARUGULA: Hey, Nico? Ms. Huffman said archeologists
ARUGULA: need to be brave. What do you think she meant?
NICO: Hmm...I don't know. Don't they have to run through
NICO: jungles and cross deserts to find old stuff? Who
NICO: KNOWS what else they might find. Snakes, spiders,
NICO: angry rabbits...
FORREST: Hi, Arugula! Hi, Nico!
[♪]
NICO: Have fun playing archeologist today, Ru-Ru!
FORREST: Are you ready to go?
NICO: Ready, Freddy!
FORREST: I'm Forrest.
NICO/FORREST: [laughing]
CARL: Hi, Arugula.
CARL: What's that you're looking at?
ARUGULA: Carl! Hi! It's a copy of the old map we saw
ARUGULA: yesterday in school. Do you want to play
ARUGULA: archeologist with me?
CARL: Sure. Is Archeologist a board game or a video game?
ARUGULA: [giggle] Neither. We're going to pretend to be
ARUGULA: archeologists! [excited squee]
ARUGULA: We're going to dig for artifacts. I marked an X
ARUGULA: on the map where I think we should search.
CARL: That sounds like an adventure. Maybe I can find an
CARL: artifact to add to one of my collections!
ARUGULA: We better hurry! I think a terrible dust storm is

ARUGULA: [gasp] I found something!

ARUGULA: I don't know, but this is the best day of my life! We
