- Ooh, there's the Mayor!

- Hello, everyone!

Welcome to the City Island Elementary Movie Making Club!

I'm very excited introduce your teacher:

Movieville director, David Lunch!

[audience applauding and cheering]

- Thanks, Mayor Sitwell. Hello, class!

I'm David Lunch.

You may know me from my movies:

"Twin Pops," "Pencil Head," and "Blue Carpet."

Gee whiz, I love cinema!

- Mr. Lunch! I'm a big fan!

- Really? You look more like a light bulb.

What's your question?

- What's a director?

- A director is the one in charge of making a movie.

- How do we make a movie?

- We're giving you all cameras

to make a movie about your life!

I want you to tell me a story about yourself!

What do you enjoy?

What are you afraid of?

- Watt, are you okay?

- Huh? What?

Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Just thinking about how I'm not afraid of anything!

- Give it all you've got, g*ng!

Let's make some movie magic!

- We love to dance!

- So our movie is a musical!

- Jeepers, those moves are tres chic!

Good thinking girls, dancing tells a story too.

- I've always wanted to see my toys come to life,

so I'm making a cartoon called "Kites and Dolls."

- Animation is a swell form of expression, Windy.

Art plus motion equals wow!

Golly! What's going on here, Watt?

- I'm working on a three-part space opera

about robot dinosaurs.

- That sounds like a big project!

- Well, the budget is currently coming in at million.

I'm a bit overwhelmed.

- Maybe there is a way to make your movie more personal.

- Really? - Gosh, yes!

When you tell stories that are personal,

people relate to them.

What does your movie tell me about you?

- I have another story that's more personal,

but I'm a little afraid to talk about it.

- To make a movie about your fears takes real courage!

I know you can do it, Watt,

you seem like a really bright bulb.

- [Watt] I'm Watt Light. I'm a light bulb.

One thing a lot of people don't know about me is that

I'm afraid of the dark.

That's why I love City Island:

it's the city that never sleeps.

So whenever I can't sleep, I look out my window.

I can see there are a lot of other lights

on out there, just like me.

[robot dinosaur roars]

[robot dinosaur chomps]

- Num, num, num, num, num, num, num, num, num!

[triumphant music]

- You never stop impressing me, Watt.

- Golly, that was a swell movie!

I love the honesty, and that dinosaur was a hoot!

- Windy helped me with the animation.

- Collaboration is a big part of making movies!
