to get the best seats at the concert.

Great! To the grocery store!

at the grocery store.

gonna get all these leaves off me?

-[leaf blower whoosing]
-[Beans blubbering]

Ooh! I look like a movie star!

Vanilla biscuits, cinnamon biscuits,

biscuit-flavored biscuits.
And bacon powder.

That's all the groceries.
We finished the chores!

in the park!

the cows we had on the farm.

doing in the middle of the road?

We're stopping you from getting
the best seats at the concert,

so we can have them!

[both] Yes!

and race for real, like Spike.

So, the winning team will have to earn it.

True. Race Cadets are fast.
But there's more to it than that.

And over the next few weeks,
you'll learn how

as you'll compete
in a series of challenges.

When a team wins a challenge,
they get a point.

The team with the most points
after the final challenge

will join the Race Cadets.

They'll get their own race car,

racing helmets, race training with me

and everything they need to become
the racing champions of tomorrow.

it's time for the first challenge.
And it's a race!

those pedal cars yourselves!

I know how to build balloon animals.
But cars, not so much.

work together and listen to each other.

another challenge that's a lot easier?

It's got building and racing,
my two favorite things!

by separating all the parts by color.

I build cars all the time.
I know exactly what to do.

That's great. How many pedal cars
have you built before?

Pedal cars? None. Why?

No reason. But maybe I'll get the manual.
Just in case.

Looks like the blue bolt
goes in the blue opening.

And it looks like I'm a moose!

Ah, Cheddar Biscuit,
we don't have time to clown around.

Now we do. If we split up the work,
we'll be done in half the time.

Which means plenty of time for...

[honking]

We're supposed to listen to each other!

you could build a pedal car!

I'm just doing what
the pictures tell me to do.

because I'm toasting this biscuit!

But the blue car is on the move,
leaving the purple car in last place!

Tag, you fell behind! What's wrong?

Nothing. Just keeping
the race exciting. Watch this.

See you at the finish line, guys!

[Sam] And the purple car takes the lead!

[laughing] This is exciting!

[panting]

Beans, we're losing! Do something!

Frank? Where are you?
I can't see you, but I can hear you!

I'm in our car, Beans.
I'm talking to you through your headset.

Oh-oh-oh! Ooh! Huh! That was a close one!

But how did you get in my headset?
It's so small!

Gilber, something's wrong with the car!

Can you be more specific?

Yeah, the steering wheel came off!

Because you clowned around
instead of following the instructions.

Oh, let me check the manual.

[yells] And I just lost two tires!

Argh! That's on a different page.

Forget the manual!
I'm spinning like a unicycle wheel.

[laughs]

And blue rises to number two!

Beans! I'm in second place.

Yay! Wait, is that good?
How many places are there?

[Sam] Purple enters the final stretch
with a big leap!

Looks like we did it, Scooch!
There's no way we can lose now.

-[tires screech]
-[grunts]

No! I'm pushing as hard as I can,
but the pedals are jammed!

-We can fix it!
-How?

I've got the directions right here!
And I'll talk you through them.

Because I'm your crew chief!

OK, Crew chief. I'm listening.

Here it is!
"If you didn't follow the directions,

and your car is stuck,
loosen the pedal rod and twist it."

[laughs] Tag's stuck!
Frank is gonna win it all!

Yeah, and Beans too.

Yay! And Beans too!

[sighs] What now?

That's it! Now pedal like crazy!

Go, paws, go!

There's the finish line!
I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna win!

We did it, Scooch!

You sure did.

-[slurps]
-You lost.

And we got ice cream!

Frank and Beans won?

That's right. Because this challenge
was about listening.

To me, and to each other.

You were right.
You said follow the instructions.

I should've slowed down
and listened to you.

That's what Frank and Beans did.
So they won.

Yeah, we did. Uh-huh.

Tag, you didn't listen to Scooch
until it was too late.

And that cost you the race.
The good news? You finished.

The bad news? No points.

And no points for Cheddar Biscuit
and Gilber either.

I need the manual to fix this!

Argh! I don't have the manual.
But I do have a new pirate hat!

not listening to each other.
