underneath my bed.

And when I went to school
one day, my mom called me.

When I got home,

the surprise was that my mom
had found out that I was g*y.

She had found all of my pictures
and laid them all out

on the bed for me.

Right next to it was a
conversion therapy package.

I was given the ultimatum,

either you follow
and do what I want you to do

or you leave my house.

For three and a half years,
I lived hell.

I went to conversion therapy
every single day.

And when I would go home,

it's not like things would
be better at home.

My father was a*usive.

My father was an alcoholic.

If I was having a good day,
I knew when I got home,

my good day would be ruined.

The only reason why
I did not leave my house

because I didn't want
to be in the streets

and add another struggle.

I knew that the real way to get
out of that was to go to school.

And that's what I did.

Everything that
I've accomplished,

I've accomplished
that on my own.

And then last year
I lost my father.

And I didn't even get a chance
to see him before he passed.

I want him to see who I became.

And I never got the
chance to do so.

We've built so much together.

It all just makes sense to me.
