(crows cawing)

(insects chittering)

(bushes rustling)

- Ooh, sh*t. (sniffs)

Oh, f*ck. Oh.

(exhales) Hi, everyone.

It's your Doris, hmm.

Probably only see this once I

have bars again. Um, I'm okay.

(inhales and exhales) This

hike just turned out to be

a little more intense than

I thought, but I'm okay.

I'm, I'm fine.

(inhales and exhales)

I know what to do, and at

least this time I'm in America,

and everyone speaks

English here. (sniffs)

(compass clattering)

(compass rattling)

(crow cawing)

(Doris breathes uneasily)

My compass

seems to be acting up,

um, but it's gonna be fine.

I'll be home

before dark. I promise.

I love you all. (kisses)

Be safe out there.

(sighs) Oh, f*ck, I'm lost.

Ooh.

What the f*ck?

(torch hissing)

(insects chittering)

(breathes

uneasily) Excuse me, sir!

Hello.

(tense orchestral music)

I'm sorry. I don't mean to

disturb you in your home, um.

(torch hissing)

(pigs snorting)

Okay, I, I see

that you are busy,

but the thing is, I, I'm lost.

(torch hissing)

I would just like you to

point me in the direction

of the lake and campground.

(torch hissing)

Sir, are you listening?

(breathes uneasily)

What the hell? I'm, I'm lost.

(Hugo grunting)

- Ah, sorry!

I'm, I'm, I'm sorry, I start,

(pigs squealing)

I'm sorry I startled you.

I...(breathes heavily)

I'm so sorry.

Super, super sorry.

(Hugo breathes heavily)

Are you,

are you hard of hearing?

(Hugo grunting)

- Hmm?

- Is everything all right?

(pigs snorting)

(intense orchestral music)

(Doris groaning)

(torch hissing)

- (gasps) No, no, no.

(Doris screaming)

(soft dramatic music continues)

(Hugo sniffing)

- Too skinny.

Protect Mama from intruders.

- Horror and

despair in Upstate New York.

(pans clattering)

- Countless victims.

- Modern day "Sweeney Todd."

- Previously presumed missing,

Lisa Phoenix, 18, was found...

(soft dramatic music continues)

(soft dramatic music continues)

- What everyone wants

to know is how and why?

(eerie orchestral music)

(door clicking)

- What might a visitor find in

the refrigerator? Some fruit?

(package rustling)

A juicy steak?

For 18-year-old Lisa Phoenix,

the findings

were far more ghastly.

- Cut.

(bell ringing)

(crew chattering)

You good?

- No. She's 18.

This feels very exploitative.

- It's news.

And you're the only one

she's willing to speak to.

It's a feather in your cap.

You wanna be taken as

a serious journalist.

What do you want

your legacy to be?

- (exhales) I'm sorry.

Was that supposed

to be Barbara Walters?

- I'm not very

good at impressions.

(Sammy chuckling)

Come on.

The kid has been through hell.

She deserves

a moment in the sun.

- You're helping her.

- I hope so, but...

- "Scary hermit in the woods

has been

collecting bodies for years."

Come on.

You know that's too simple.

The cops have been making the

same mistake over and over.

Every skull

they pull out of that farm

just proves their laziness.

Everyone is just letting the

narrative play itself out.

No one is digging.

(crew chattering)

But if you ask me, the

story they're selling

is just too skinny.

- Maybe.

- Her interview

is the last piece

of the puzzle, the glue.

Without it, we just spent

weeks interviewing rednecks

and hillbillies

for no good reason.

This will be your Daytime Emmy.

(crew chattering)

- You did get

tobacco spit on your shoe,

and that had to be a

fortifying life experience.

- No. Uh!

I swear I can still feel it.

(soft dramatic music)

(hands rubbing)

(nails scratching)

- [Sammy] How

are you feeling, Lisa?

- (inhales) Wow.

Starting off with

the easy questions, huh?

(Hugo breathing heavily)

Hmm.

I'm finding ways

to be hopeful again.

- How about your day to day?

Have you been

able to get some rest?

- Are you a shrink? 'Cause

I've seen a lot of those.

- (chuckles) No, I, the

world is just amazed

that you made it through

all that you have.

What does the other

side of Hell look like?

(eerie orchestral music)

(Lisa breathing uneasily)

- I'm cool.

Um, ah, good vibes only.

- I just wanna

know what happened,

uh, through your eyes.

- Okay.

- [Sammy]

(inhales) Why don't we start

from the very beginning?

How did that day start?

You woke up and you...?

- I woke up and, um, I

made breakfast for Eric.

(upbeat rock music)

(bacon sizzling)

- [Fiona] So

what's on the menu today?

- Just a bacon egg sandwich.

- [Fiona] And he can't make

his own breakfast because?

- Because I want to.

Why do you always

have to piss on things?

- [Fiona] Lisa, you've known

this guy for maybe three months

and you're once again obsessed.

- (chuckles) So

what? He's sweet.

I like him.

- And you wake up every day

early to cook him breakfast?

What are you, his personal chef?

I heard he was busted for

shoplifting at Target once.

He's a little weirdo.

- Yeah, he told me that

story. He has a problem.

He's working on it. Okay?

He's human. He's not perfect.

- [Fiona]

(exhales) You get so clingy

and you let these

guys step all over you.

Are you a doormat, Lisa?

You need to find somebody who

can really take care of you.

Okay? Somebody

who is kind and sweet.

- Uh, right, says the b*tch

who finds all of

her dates on Tinder.

- [Fiona] Look,

leave me out of this.

Finding a good guy

is a real issue. Okay?

Jokes aside, how are you

feeling about this weekend?

- (inhales and

exhales) I could be better.

- [Tony] Lisa, you're

gonna be late for school!

- That your dad?

- Yeah.

- [Fiona] Okay, it's been a

tough year for both of you,

so try not to be too angry.

Okay?

- I will.

I'll try.

- [Sammy] So your mother passed

away not long before that?

- Yeah, it was

eight months before,

but I was

starting to feel better.

(inhales) I,

I was, tried to stay away

from people, honestly.

Everyone kind of looked

at me like they pitied me.

I couldn't take it.

Eric was the only one who

didn't really seem to care.

- This is why you guys were

going to Lyndon Park, right?

This was your family tradition?

- We would go every year.

My dad was dead set on finding

a different spot this time.

I guess it was too painful

for him to go without her.

- I hope you don't mind me

asking, how did your mom...

- Lung cancer.

- I see.

- Funny though,

'cause she wasn't even

the one who was smoking.

- (sighs) Lisa, it's a

family tradition. Family.

(crowd cheering on TV)

- And he's my boyfriend.

Will you stop smoking

that in our living room?

- You just met the guy.

- And why does that matter?

He makes me feel good.

- Oh, I'm sure.

- Oh, please

- (inhales) Look,

I understand if you feel

like slutting

around a little bit,

especially after everything

we've been through

- "Slutting around?"

You're disgusting.

- Watch the way you talk to me.

- You're a few whiskeys away

from drinking your way to Mom.

- I said, watch your mouth.

- [Tony] I know

about Mary, by the way.

- I don't know what the

hell you're talking about.

- How does it feel f*cking her

friend right before she died?

- Enough!

(hand whacking)

(Lisa breathing heavily)

I'm just glad

your mother's not here

to see you act like this.

- (scoffs) You're a

pathetic f*cking as*h*le!

(crowd cheering on TV)

(birds chirping)

(Tony sighing)

- [Tony] Oh.

- I guess

he felt guilty about that.

(crowd cheers on TV)

- Spoiled little brat.

- After he sobered up

the next day, (swallows)

and he told me to invite

Eric on our fishing trip.

- You know how it is,

parents aren't always

the easiest

relationships to manage.

- Yeah.

- Pig f*ck. Pig f*ck.

Pig f*ck. Pig f*ck.

Pig f*ck. Pig f*ck.

You stupid pig f*ck!

- [Sammy] Lisa, are you okay?

- Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine.

- Do you wanna take a break?

- No, not now.

(inhales) The, the drive

up was really fun though.

(soft dramatic music)

(soft dramatic music continues)

(soft dramatic music continues)

- [Sammy] But you made a

pit stop before the lake.

- Oh, yeah. The gas station.

- Owned by Barry

and Helen Anderson.

What can you tell me about them?

- That they owned a shotgun.

(shotgun blasting)

- What the f*ck

are you doing out here?

Can you come to the

front? We have clients.

f*ck' idiot.

(crows cawing)

And don't leave that

f*cking thing lying around.

How many times do

I have to tell you?

(shell clattering)

(barrel clacking)

- b*tch.

(cap clicking)

(nozzle clacking)

- [Lisa] Can I have

some money for snacks?

(cash rustling)

Thank you.

- You're welcome.

- Eric, come on.

(car door clicking)

- [Eric] Yep.

- Don't be all day.

(car door slamming)

(footsteps pattering)

Any good fishing

spots around here?

(bell ringing)

- Yeah, I know a spot.

(mellow country music)

(door thudding)

(fans whirring)

(mellow country music continues)

(book rustling)

- [Lisa] Mm.

(package crinkling)

(chuckles) Look what I found.

- Oh, what is that?

It'll be a fun activity.

- Oh my God,

that'd be so much fun.

- It comes with

a magnifying glass.

- No, sh*t.

- What are you eating?

It smells like doggy poo.

- It's Jerky. Want some?

- No, thanks.

- Oh, don't this

my jerky. All right?

In pioneers times, this

was their Mars bars.

- In pioneer times,

people died of diarrhea.

- Diarrhea can

k*ll you? (chuckles)

- Everybody knows that.

- Jesus

(package crinkling)

- Lollipop rings.

(footsteps pattering)

(car doors clicking)

- Get everything

you needed? (sighs)

- (scoffs) There's no bars.

- I wouldn't bother.

- Where are you taking us?

The dark side of the moon?

- (inhales) For

your information,

country bumpkin in

the gas station told me

about the perfect fishing spot.

You're so spoiled.

(keys jangling)

Just sit back,

relax, enjoy the country.

(ignition beeping)

(engine humming)

(insects chittering)

(eerie orchestral music)

(crow cawing)

(flies buzzing)

(Hugo breathing heavily)

- Mama. Mama.

Mama. (breathes heavily)

(tense electronic music)

- Ow!

- [Young Hugo] Mama! (echoes)

- [Mother] It's

your fault. (echoes)

They should have

never been here. (echoes)

- I'm sorry, Mama. I'm sorry.

(eerie vocalizing)

(insects chittering)

(footsteps pattering)

- (inhales) The guy at

the gas station, Barry,

he was the one

who told us about the spot.

We had to take down some kind

of wooden gate to get through.

(wood clattering)

(hands patting)

- See? No big deal.

- Are you sure we should

be going in there?

We're gonna piss somebody off.

- [Sammy] And your father

was fine with that?

- [Lisa] Yeah,

I felt like it wasn't okay,

but he said that that's

what the locals do.

And that's what the guy

at the gas station said.

(inhales) That's how we

ended up on Hugo's property.

- So once you got there,

what did you guys do?

- Me and Eric went into

the forest to find berries

or a snack or

something, I don't know.

- But somehow,

Hugo knew you were there?

- He knew.

(hammer clinking)

Hugo always knows.

- Keep them out,

Hugo. Keep them out.

- [Hugo] Okay, Mama.

(eerie orchestral music)

- Is this thing on? Can

you repeat the question?

- [Sammy]

I asked you about Tony.

- Tony, yeah, he was a little

rough around the edges,

but we were two peas in a pod.

(Tony sighing)

Hey, man.

(reel rattling)

- (exhales) Hey, yourself.

- Hmm.

We're neighbors.

(line whooshing)

- I noticed.

(lure plopping)

- Been fishing here before?

- (inhales) Nah, first time.

Fella at the gas

station hooked me up.

- Hmm, me too.

You're in for a treat.

The fish here are biting. I

caught three in the last hour.

It's quiet, and there's no one

here to scare the fish away.

- Thank God for that 'cause

I've had all the noise

I could deal with on the

ride up here with those kids.

- Hmm.

(can clattering)

- You do speak my language.

- I'm Clarice.

- I'm Tony.

Nice to meet you. Thanks

for the beer, Clarice.

(reel rattling)

(tense electronic music)

(chimes jingling)

(pigs snorting)

(crow cawing)

(footsteps shuffling)

(pigs squealing)

(bucket clattering)

(meat plopping)

(pigs snorting)

(pigs chewing)

(footsteps pattering)

(door clicks and creaks)

(flies buzzing)

(footsteps tapping)

(latch door clattering)

(flies buzzing)

(footsteps tapping)

(Hugo moaning)

- [Young Hugo] When

you coming back, Mama?

- I'll be home

soon, Hugo. (echoes)

But remember, if just one

thing is out of place,

you will regret it. (echoes)

(door clanking)

(pigs snorting)

(chain jangling)

(chain jangling)

(door creaking)

(pigs snorting)

(tense orchestral music)

(pigs squeals and snort)

(chain jangling)

(pigs snort and squeal)

- We hiked for a while,

but then we decided

to head back to camp.

(footsteps pattering)

(bushes rustling)

Oh, you son of a b*tch.

You whipped me.

- Okay, well stop

following so close.

You're right up my a*s.

- Okay. We're

following the trail.

- No, we're not.

- Yes, I'm not.

Holy sh*t. Yeah, where

the f*ck's the trail?

- We passed it 40 minutes ago.

- Why didn't you tell me?

- I did.

- Really?

- You would've known that

if you weren't so

busy sh**ting everything

with your pellet g*n.

- Hey, okay, okay.

I'm sorry. All right?

I just, I can't think

straight with all these

f*cking flies around.

(flies buzzing)

(pig squealing)

(spear stabbing)

(crows cawing)

(eerie orchestral music)

- What was that?

- Ah, animal, probably.

- Okay. Let's keep going.

- Mm-hmm.

- I think

that we came from that way.

Yeah.

- Yeah, no, that looks,

uh, familiar.

(footsteps pattering)

(insects chittering)

- Okay. We're officially lost.

- How? We're at a park, okay?

You can't get lost in a park.

- What? This park isn't a

green place in the suburbs.

It's a hundred

square miles of wilderness.

- Okay. Okay. (scoffs)

(crows cawing)

(Lisa sighing)

(bushes rustling)

(footsteps pattering)

(pellet g*n clicking)

- I'm not sure when

those kids wandered off.

You know, it used to be

when you wanted a teenager

to stay put,

you had to tie them down,

but now you just stick 'em

in front of a video game

and watch them fry their brains.

But there's no

internet out by the park.

That's what I love about it.

This is the, huh? (chuckles)

Ooh.

- I'll say.

And the bonus is,

the kids aren't here

bugging sh*t the outta me.

(reel rattling)

- Mm-hmm.

- Oh, I got one!

(water splashing)

I got a big one. (grunts)

- Ooh.

Get it.

- Oh, man I need this.

(reel screeching)

- Oh.

(mellow rock music)

- Lisa? Eric?

Lisa? Eric?

The stupid kids.

I can't believe

they actually went to look

for f*ck' berries.

(insects chittering)

(chimes jingling)

(Eric sighing)

(footsteps pattering)

(pig snorting)

- Do you hear that?

- Yeah. It's a wind chime.

My grandma has one of

those in the backyard.

It drives me

crazy when I sleep over.

- What's that other sound?

(pigs snorting)

- Some animals, probably.

- Sounds like

the one we heard before.

- Yeah.

(tense orchestral music)

(crow cawing)

(footsteps pattering)

(pigs snorting)

Oh, oh, check

it out. It's a pig farm.

- Of course it's a pig farm.

(Eric chuckling)

- [Eric] What

is a pig farm doing

in the middle of the forest?

- I don't know.

(crow cawing)

- Okay, well, you know,

maybe we can get a ride back

to the campsite, right?

- Huh, that'd be sweet.

My feet are k*lling me.

(hay rustling)

(pigs snorting)

- Oh, Lisa, come

on. Check out the pigs.

Oh, look at

them. They're so cute.

You know my

grandma used to raise pigs.

(pigs squealing)

What you doing?

(pigs snorting)

(Eric whistling)

(pig squealing)

sh*t! What the f*ck

is your problem, man?

- Don't sh**t it.

- (exhales) I,

wasn't, wasn't gonna.

- Still, you're mean.

- I'm mean?

That pig wants to k*ll us.

- You're gonna pick

on an animal? Really?

Like it knows any better.

Let's just go look for help.

- Okay, well.

(pigs snorting)

Gosh, I could go

for bacon right now.

Said I could go for bacon.

(tense orchestral music)

(chimes jingling)

(footsteps shuffling)

Hello?

(Eric knocking)

Hey, is anybody home?

- Nobody's home.

What should we do?

(Eric sighing)

- [Eric] Hang out

until someone gets back.

- What if nobody lives here?

- Someone's

feeding the pigs, so.

- True.

I don't know.

This place is creepy.

I feel like I just

walked over my own grave.

- Sugar overload. (chuckles)

By the way, I don't know why

you're sucking on that thing.

It looks

exactly like a butt plug.

- No, it doesn't. Gross.

- It does.

(eerie electronic music)

(sighs) Found it.

- What?

(pellet g*n clicking)

(chimes jingling)

- Will you stop? We're

trying to find help.

- You know what?

Ah, maybe you're right.

This place is, ah, this

place is kind of creepy.

Why don't we just, you

know, get outta here?

- And go where?

- Ah, back he way we came.

- "Back the way we came?"

We're lost,

and it's gonna be dark.

I'm not going anywhere

until somebody points me

in the right f*cking direction.

- All right. Whatever. (sighs)

(trigger clicking)

Oh, what the f*ck? What?

- It's broken? Hallelujah.

- No, no. It just

needs an air cartridge.

- Do you have one?

- Yeah, back at camp.

(cartridge clinks and taps)

Hey, you know what? Maybe

we should, um, go inside.

See if there's something

to eat. I am starving.

- We could get into

some serious trouble.

We can't just go

into somebody's home.

- Yes, we can. We're

lost and we're hungry.

- Wait. We could get into

some serious trouble.

- Okay. Yeah, yeah, uh. (sighs)

What are we gonna do? Huh?

Stay out here all night?

- Maybe.

- We go in if

the door's unlocked.

No breaking and entering.

- Ah, okay.

- Okay.

(door clicks and creaks)

Told ya.

(Lisa sighing)

Close the door.

(door creaking)

- So you enter the cabin

under Eric's pressure.

- I tried to make him

understand it was wrong,

but he wouldn't listen.

- Seems like Eric and your

father share some traits.

- No, he was just

looking out for me.

And my father, he always

desires to be better.

I knew he was suffering.

I honestly did think that

Eric and my father could bond,

but he didn't really seem

to care about either of us,

so I guess that's also why

we went to the woods, to escape.

I thought

it would be a fun adventure.

- So what did

you find inside the cabin?

(eerie electronic music)

- It was horrifying.

There were animal heads and

a bunch of junk everywhere.

It stunk.

Hugo, the hermit,

he had this scrapbook with

a bunch of pictures of him

and his mom at the county fair.

- This seems like

a reoccurring theme.

This whole story

about him and his mother.

- It was strange.

The place was half hell house

and half a museum of his mother.

We kept looking around.

Eric was looking for food.

At that point,

we hadn't eaten all day.

So we, we walked

to this little thing,

an old-timey

refrigerator. (inhales)

We shouldn't have opened it.

Um, there was meat wrapped in

strips of brown paper bags.

I thought it was pork,

but Eric saw a tattoo.

It was a Libra sign.

Animals don't get tattoos.

- The authorities said some

of the remains they found

traced back to Doris Baker.

- I wouldn't know.

- So, what happened next

after you found

the, uh, body parts?

- Well, we were

scared, obviously.

And we knew

that whoever lived there

was very dangerous

and we had to leave.

(inhales) But,

uh, that's when...

- He came home?

- Yeah, that's

when he came back.

(intense orchestral music)

(intense

orchestral music continues)

(intense

orchestral music continues)

(insects chittering)

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(tense orchestral music)

Someone's here.

I mean,

we didn't know what to do,

so we ran into

the first room we saw,

hoping he wouldn't notice.

(door creaking)

(Hugo sniffing)

(floor creaking)

(floor creaking)

(floor creaking)

(tense orchestral

music continues)

- And?

- And then

we heard the lock turn.

(door thudding)

(lock clicking)

(door clattering)

(key clinking)

(hand pounding)

(Lisa breathing uneasily)

He just locked the door.

- Oh, sh*t.

- Do you think

he knows we're in here?

Like I said, Hugo always knew.

- Tony's not the absent-minded

father he's been painted as.

He was worried.

I mean, maybe, I guess I gave

him some not so good advice.

Got something

that'll take the chill off.

(fire crackling)

(crickets chirping)

- Thank you.

- Hmm.

- [Tony] Mm.

- Where are the kids?

- (exhales) Disappeared.

- What?

- Ain't seen 'em all afternoon.

- Hmm.

- You think maybe I should

contact park rangers?

- Park rangers

work business hours.

Probably won't

be back till morning.

My advice, chill.

Kids will be back

when they get hungry.

They always do.

- You're probably right.

(footsteps pattering)

- Maybe that's them now.

- Lisa, is that you?

(tense electronic music)

Guess not.

(footsteps pattering)

Some animal.

(crow cawing)

(hand pounding)

(Lisa breathing uneasily)

- Let us out! Hello?

Can you hear us?

- So at this point,

you and Eric

had been in the room

for five hours at least, right?

- We were looking for a way out.

A loose floorboard. Anything.

It was more like

a cell than a room.

- Your mindset at this

point, were you hopeful?

- We were scared,

but being in a cell

messes with your brain.

(flies buzzing)

I mean, I was convinced

that my father would come

and rescue me, I mean,

he has to look for me.

(tense orchestral music)

But I didn't know that

he was in danger to.

(crickets chirping)

(fire crackling)

- (sighs) Maybe

this trip was a bad idea.

I don't think

I was ready for it.

- Hey, man, don't

be so hard on yourself.

Hmm. It's tough

to be a single parent.

Most people haven't been through

what you've been through.

- Thanks. I appreciate that.

- I'm gonna go

get some more booze.

- Hmm.

- You want some more beer?

- Why not?

- All right. Ooh. (sighs)

(footsteps pattering)

(tense orchestral music)

(crickets chirping)

(bushes rustling)

(footsteps pattering)

- Lisa.

That you?

Lisa, that you?

Come on out.

Oh, I get it. (chuckles)

You, you and that stupid

boyfriend of yours,

trying to scare the old man.

"Let's go scare my dad."

Ha-ha-ha, very funny.

Joke's over, so come on

out, stop fooling around.

I didn't mean

what I said yesterday.

I mean, this year's been so

hard on me, losing your mom,

and (exhales) I'm so exhausted,

I, I can't even think straight.

Look, I'm sorry.

I, I know, I know I

haven't been a good dad,

especially lately, but...

And, and I, and I, I know, um,

you, you've been

through a lot too.

We, we've been

through it together.

But if you come

out, (breathes uneasily)

I promise, I'll try harder.

I love you, Lisa.

I love you so much.

(intense electronic music)

(Tony sniffs and sighs)

Who the hell are you?

(spear stabbing)

(Tony groaning)

(bones cracking)

(blood spurting)

(flesh squelching)

(body thudding)

(spear stabbing)

(blood spraying)

(eerie vocalizing)

(knife scraping)

- Oh, it's the ret*rd.

Can you hear me? Hey, freak.

(stone whacking)

(ears ringing)

(boys laughing)

(eerie electronic music)

You stupid pig f*ck!

- S-T-U-P-I-D.

- I'm gonna f*ck you up!

And after, I'm

gonna f*ck your mother!

Where is she?

(head slamming)

(heart thumping)

- Mama, help!

(ears ringing)

Mama!

(tense orchestral music)

(spear stabbing)

(blood dripping)

(flesh squelching)

(spear stabbing)

(eerie electronic music)

- This is your fault. (echoes)

You know what you have to do.

We never waste

the meat. (echoes)

(ears ringing)

(tense orchestral music)

(spear stabbing)

(blood spurting)

Good boy, Hugo. Good boy.

(spear stabbing)

(blood spurting)

(crickets chirping)

(body scraping)

(tense orchestral music)

(owl hooting)

(hands knocking)

(body scrapes and thuds)

- (breathes

heavily) I think he's back.

Eric, we need to

figure something out.

The second he walks in the

door, we have to attack him

with something, a shoe,

- What?

- my book, I don't care.

We have to be ready.

Okay? (breathes heavily)

I was in complete panic mode.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(flies buzzing)

(tarp rustling)

(footsteps pattering)

(insects chittering)

(soft dramatic music)

The, uh, next

morning, I had to pee.

Eric suggested

that I pee in the bucket

that was right there.

I couldn't

bring myself to do it.

Eric didn't have that issue.

(Hugo sniffing)

And he smelt it right away.

- Mm, I'm sorry. Smelled?

(Hugo exhaling)

- Yeah.

- [Sammy] And that was

the first time he saw you?

- Yes.

And the first

time I saw him up close.

Eric tried to threaten

him with a broken p*stol.

(sobbing) Stop.

He snapped that thing

right out of Eric's hand

like it was nothing.

Please, please!

(hands pounding)

Please.

It was obvious now that

we were his captives,

and he wasn't

letting us go anytime soon.

(insects chittering)

(crows cawing)

(eerie orchestral music)

(flies buzzing)

(birds chirping)

(knife slicing)

(flesh tearing)

(knife scraping)

(flies buzzing)

(flesh squishing)

(flies buzzing)

(Hugo breathing uneasily)

(limbs plopping)

(Hugo breathing uneasily)

(Hugo grunting)

(head plopping)

(shovel scraping)

(dirt pattering)

- [Sammy] Was he feeding you?

- [Lisa] He would come in every

now and then with pig food.

- And this is what you ate?

- I mean, we couldn't,

even if I was starving,

it looked disgusting.

- [Sammy] So from

what you're saying,

it seems like he was

really keen to smells.

- It took a while, but

eventually I realized the truth.

I think he's deaf. (echoes)

(eerie orchestral music)

(fire crackling)

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(flesh tearing)

(meat sizzling)

(Hugo chewing)

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(meat plopping)

(hands rubbing)

(Hugo exhaling)

(crickets chirping)

(tools clattering)

(tense orchestral music)

(tense orchestral

music continues)

(meat squishing)

(wood scraping)

(door clicking)

(fire crackling)

(wood clattering)

(door tapping)

At this point, Eric had

pretty much given up,

but I still had hope.

I realized that there was

a tool that I could use

to remove one of

the boards in the cell.

- What was it?

- My book.

It came with a magnifying

glass and I broke it

and used it to

remove one of the boards.

- Hmm.

- (inhales) We waited for him,

but he wasn't coming,

until I had an idea.

I think I'll take

that piss after all.

Hugo came in to

change the bucket,

and when he got inside,

Eric hit him with the board.

That was our first

attempt at escaping.

- Ah, uh!

(door banging)

- (panting)

sh*t! f*ck, you okay?

Just, f*ck!

(Lisa groaning)

(intense orchestral music)

Come on. Come on.

Oh, f*ck. Come on.

- Uh! (groaning)

(Hugo breathing uneasily)

(Hugo screaming)

(Eric breathing uneasily)

- Come on.

(Hugo grunting)

(bodies slamming)

(both groaning)

Anything broken?

- No, I'm good.

- Okay.

(tense orchestral music)

Okay. Keep moving.

Go, go, go, go.

(owl hooting)

(footsteps pattering)

(projector clicking)

- Evan Smith.

You told the police that

you never encountered him.

- Yeah, I know.

I have no idea who he was.

Which makes me

think, it seems like

because

everything that happened,

it makes it easier to

pin any m*rder on Hugo.

- So you think something

else was going on?

- I don't know. I just know

that I never met the guy.

- Hmm. Interesting.

So you made

it out. How far did you get?

- Not far enough, we were

running and running, and then

there was a flash of pain.

(tense orchestral music)

(Lisa panting)

(insects chittering)

(spear whacking)

And I woke up in the shed.

(body slamming)

- Mm, hmm.

(Lisa breathing heavily)

(chains jangling)

- He wasn't gonna let

us get away that easily.

(gasping) Why

are you doing this?

Why are you doing this?

(breathes uneasily)

Why are you keeping us alive?

(chains jangling)

(Lisa whimpering)

- Not enough meat. Too

skinny. (breathes heavily)

(Lisa gasping)

(Eric whimpers and groans)

(Lisa screaming)

- No! Uh!

(Lisa groaning)

(chains jangling)

(intense electronic music)

- She had long hair, ah, was

wearing black hiking boots

and was licking on a

lollipop or something.

And the little boy, he

had on a pink shirt.

He had a, a small BB g*n.

And, ah, why aren't

you writing this down?

- Steel trap.

I used to wait tables, so.

- I'm not ordering a g*dd*mn

cheeseburger here, buddy.

I heard screams last night.

Three people are missing.

They could be hurt or in danger.

- Well, maybe they went on

a hike or left early. Okay?

And technically, ma'am,

you're on private property

right now,

so the landowner probably

just asked them to leave.

(chattering on radio)

You should do the same.

- So if they left,

why'd they leave

their sh*t here, huh?

Why aren't

you calling for back up?

Where's your boss at?

- I am perfectly capable

of handling the situation.

Okay, ma'am?

- So why don't you call

this, ah, landowner person

and ask if he saw them?

- Yeah, that's

what I was gonna do.

I was planning on that already.

So, you stay safe, ma'am. Okay?

Pack all your trash.

(chattering on radio)

- Dumb a*s. Mm.

(sighs) Park rangers?

They're rent-a-cops

for the forest.

I should have gone

in there my damn self.

(Lisa breathing heavily)

(chain jangling)

(Lisa whimpering)

- [Lisa] He gagged me,

and he left me hanging

in the shed next to the cabin.

(Lisa groaning)

- Where was Eric?

- I don't know.

- You didn't see

Hugo take him anywhere?

(eerie orchestral music)

- I said no.

- (inhales) I think now

it would be a good time

to take a break.

You feel okay about that?

- Yeah. Good for me.

- Should I cut?

- Cut, please.

- Cutting.

(camera beeping)

(door clicks and thuds)

(traffic whirring)

(lighter clicking)

(siren wailing)

(Sammy inhales and exhales)

(phone rings and buzzes)

(phone rustling)

(Sammy chuckling)

- Mike.

- How's the best

journalist in town?

- Stop it, Mr. Hollywood.

This is proving to be

a little more difficult

than I expected.

- How's that?

- I need more

chum for the water.

Like she's not digging in.

She's not really

telling me anything

that isn't already plastered

on the front pages.

- Well, she did live with

Hillbilly Jeffrey Dahmer,

so give her a break.

- Yeah,

but there's more than that.

(inhales) Hey, um, can you

help me with something?

- What's that?

- Can you help me

get more

information on Hugo's mother?

- Mm. I have a first draft due.

I'll see what I can do.

- Thanks.

You're the best.

I'll see you when

you're back from LA.

(door clicking)

(owl hooting)

(insects chittering)

- You were not kidding. There

is no service out here, bro.

- [Martin] Can you please focus?

- Oh, yeah. Right, right, right.

Um, how far are you?

- Yeah. I, I'm on my way. I'll

pick you up with the Jeep.

You find Hugo's place yet?

- No, sir. Um, this guy's

way off the grid, man.

I am in the bush right now.

- [Martin] That's

the way he likes it.

- Does he have any family?

- No, none around.

Folks who remember his

mama say she was a witch.

- Really? A witch?

Sick.

- Yeah.

They said

she fornicated with a wild hog.

- With a what now?

- And that her boy suckled

on a possum's teat then

ate frogs and snakes

until he was big enough

to hunt for squirrel.

- And like no one ever thought

to call child

services or whatever?

- [Martin]

Cadet, Scott, you are not

from around here, are you?

- No, sir.

Sharon Springs, born and raised.

I wanna know more

about his witchy mama.

- Yeah, not much to say. Uh,

she disappeared years ago.

Nobody knows

what happened to her.

- That's kind of sad.

- [Martin] Ah, folks say Hugo

is still waiting for her.

(crows cawing)

All right, wait.

Hold, hold

that thought. I see you.

Get, get past the creek.

I'll be right there.

- Roger that.

(bushes rustling)

(ax whacking)

(tense orchestral music)

(engine humming)

(ax whacking)

(Lisa groaning)

(chains jangling)

- [Lisa] Mm!

(doors clicking)

(chattering on radio)

- No power lines.

- Mm.

- How does he live

without electricity?

- [Martin] (chuckles)

You and me, we'll talk.

(Lisa groaning)

Hugo's old school.

- I can't believe he's the

guy who makes Hermit Jerky.

- Yeah, folks

say his mom came up

with the recipe back in the 80s.

- Didn't

they win like first prize

at the state fair

or something like that?

- So it did and

the rest is local legend.

(Lisa grunting)

(shackles jangling)

- Now that I see

where it comes from...

(Hugo breathing heavily)

It doesn't seem

like he knows we're here.

- That's

because he's stone-deaf.

But he reads lips better

than most people hear.

(stone pattering)

- Ah!

- Calm. It's me.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(Lisa groaning)

Morning, Hugo.

How you doing? We are looking

for three missing campers.

Father, his daughter and

her boyfriend. Seen 'em?

(chattering on radio)

All right. We won't take

up any more of your time.

(Lisa grunting)

- Ah, jerky.

(ax clinking)

Jerk, jerky.

(chattering on radio)

(Lisa groaning)

(door creaking)

(tense orchestral music)

(shackles jangling)

- You think they can hear us?

- They're listening

to every word you say.

(Scott snorting)

(Lisa groaning)

(door slamming)

- Thank you, man.

- [Hugo] Fr- Fresh.

- Thank you, Hugo.

- Fresh.

- Thank you.

All right.

(footsteps pattering)

- [Scott] He's

still looking at us, man.

- Yep. Just keep walking.

(shackles jangling)

(Lisa groaning)

(engine rumbling)

- Why did the rangers come back?

(insects chittering)

(tense orchestral music)

- [Lisa] My lollipop ring.

(ring scraping)

They saw it on

the ground outside.

- [Martin] What

you got over there?

(ax whacking)

(wood clattering)

(engine humming)

- [Mother] The piggies are back.

(doors clicking)

- Hey.

(Scott breathing uneasily)

Hugo.

Couple more questions for you.

(Lisa grunting)

(shackles jangling)

(Lisa breathing heavily)

(Lisa screaming)

(g*ns scraping)

(Hugo screaming)

(ax whooshing)

(g*n blasting)

(eerie orchestral music)

(body slamming)

- What the f*ck, man? Oh, sh*t!

f*ck!

(body thudding)

Oh, sh*t! This is not good!

This is not good, man!

(g*n clacking)

This does not look cool.

This does not look cool.

f*ck. f*ck,

man. (breathes heavily)

That f*cking

Sasquatch tried to k*ll me.

(door thuds and creaks)

(g*n clicking)

- (gasps) Help!

- Where's the boy?

- I don't know.

Is my father here?

- Ah, maybe.

I don't know.

- What?

He didn't come here with you?

- He's missing too.

- Let's go, would you come on?

I'm f*cking dying out here,

dude! This is not funny!

- You thought Hugo was dead.

- He was on

the floor, not moving.

(Hugo breathing softly)

The rangers freed me, but we

still had to go find Eric.

- sh**t him again just to

be sure. (breathes heavily)

- [Martin] No, no way.

- What do you mean, "No way?"

What if he's playing possum?

- No. I'm not gonna

discharge my firearm again.

There's already

gonna be enough paperwork.

- Paperwork, man, this guy

just tried to f*cking k*ll me!

Worried about

a piece of f*cking paper?

- [Martin] Wait here while

we look for this boy.

- This is when I learned he

was left in the cell alive.

- All right, if Hugo

goes all "Walking Dead,"

I'll blast him.

- Who's Hugo?

- Big m*therf*cker .

That's his Christian name.

- (inhales) That's when I

first learned Hugo's name. Hmm.

- (breathes

heavily) This f*cking sucks.

(g*n clacking)

- We left the other

ranger alone with Hugo

for too long, probably.

- That was

Ranger Cadet Scott, right?

- Yeah. That's him.

(door creaking)

(Eric panting)

- All right, Scott.

Scott.

What the f*ck?

(intense orchestral music)

- It was wild,

I mean, after his k*lling

his social

media page went viral.

- I, I heard.

- Mom, look, who's a ranger?

First day on

the job. Look at me.

- Anthony, stop that.

(upbeat electronic music)

- Did you ever think your

son would be a ranger?

- It's dangerous.

- At Lyndon Park?

(dog barking)

It's like

the safest place in the world.

Look who's a ranger now? Ranger

Scott reporting for duty.

Put out that fire. son. (laughs)

Freeze. Dispose of your trash.

Woo!

Mustache looking good.

Got my g*n. When am I ever

gonna need a g*n in a park?

What am I gonna sh**t

a squirrel? Oh, sh*t.

What's up, bro? Is the

ranger station this way?

- [Passerby] No, it's this way.

- It's this way? (inhales)

Walking this way now.

This is gonna

be the chillest day.

(tense orchestral music)

(insects chittering)

- Uh, f*ck! Dude, dude,

dude, he's right behind you!

(Martin groaning)

(g*n clattering)

- sh**t him!

(neck snapping)

(Martin gasping)

- It's not

sh**ting. Lisa, it's not...

- The safety! Eric!

- [Eric] Where, where's

the f*cking safety?

- I don't know!

- f*cking, just,

just stay back!

Stay back,

stay back! Just...(gasps)

(spear stabbing)

- Oh, Eric!

Eric! (gasps)

(flesh squelching)

Oh my God, Eric!

(Eric groaning)

Eric, I can't move!

- f*cking run! Just run.

Just f*cking

run. Just f*cking run.

- (panting) Oh,

oh, please, keys!

Keys! Where

the f*ck are the keys?

(breathes heavily) f*ck!

Where the...(gasping)

(g*n blasting)

(Hugo groaning)

(spear clattering)

(Eric gasping)

Oh! (breathes heavily)

(door clicking)

(soft dramatic music)

Are you okay?

- No, I'm not f*cking okay.

I just got f*cking stabbed.

- Okay, come on.

Let's go.

(Eric groaning)

(groans) Come on. Come on.

- God, I'm so

happy I went camping.

- Oh, are you gonna k*ll

me for the rest of my life?

- Yeah. Yeah, no,

that's, that's the plan.

- Come on.

- (groans) You know

that's the f*cking plan.

- Come on, oh!

(both breathing heavily)

- Okay. You know

how to drive this thing?

- Easy, I just have to

ransack one of the rangers

for the keys.

- Okay, f*cking, just go

do it, go get

the f*cking keys, okay?

- Okay. I will, f*ck.

Wait here, okay?

(door slamming)

(Lisa panting)

(Eric groaning)

Oh, so sorry.

(keys jangling)

I'm so sorry. Yes!

Thank you. Thank

you for saving me.

(Lisa panting)

(Eric groaning)

(tense orchestral music)

(door clicking)

(gasps) Eric!

- What?

- Oh my God.

I thought you were dead.

(Eric groaning)

(door clicking)

(Lisa breathing heavily)

- Really?

- Yeah.

- And you were sad?

- About to me.

(keys jangling)

(engine rumbling)

(intense orchestral music)

- Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait,

wait, wait, wait, wait!

(Eric groaning)

(Lisa panting)

(g*n clicking)

Go Lisa, get out!

Lisa, f*cking get

out! Just go, get out!

Lisa, Lisa,

just go, get out, go!

- f*ck!

(engine stalling)

Oh, start! Oh, f*ck!

(tires screeching)

(engine rumbling)

(spear whooshing)

(Hugo grunting)

(window shattering)

(Lisa breathing heavily)

(engine rumbling)

(Hugo breathing uneasily)

(Eric groaning)

(footsteps tapping)

(body slamming)

(Eric groaning)

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(Eric whimpering)

(door creaks and slams)

(Eric moaning)

- I rushed back to the

campsite as fast as possible.

I didn't think that my

father wouldn't be there.

- What about that lady Clarice?

- She was gone too.

Dad? (panting)

Dad? (panting)

(tent rustling)

(soft dramatic music)

I was alone. (breathes heavily)

(soft dramatic music continues)

And this is when I realized

there was only one

thing that I could do.

I had to go back

and find Eric myself.

- Yourself. You went back alone?

(engine rumbling)

- It was scary,

but I had to do it.

When I, uh,

when I got to the clearing,

I looked everywhere, but

I, I couldn't find Eric.

I looked inside a weird

little construction.

That's when Clarice showed up.

- Oh, I, I'm sorry.

So Clarice was or wasn't there?

- Yeah, when I went back to

the campsite to look for her,

she must have gone to

the clearing already.

We just missed each other,

but now she was there

and I showed her the ice house.

- It's what

country people used to use

to store

their meat before electricity.

(footsteps tapping)

- Do you think he's in here? Mm!

(door creaking)

(Lisa gasping)

(Eric whimpering)

Eric!

You're gonna be okay. Okay?

You're gonna be okay. Come on.

(Eric groaning)

You are gonna be okay.

When we walked out, Hugo was

waiting for us in his van.

- In the van?

(engine rumbling)

- He wanted to run us over.

- Intruders! (grunting)

- Come get me,

you crazy m*therf*cker!

(Hugo grunting)

(engine rumbling)

(intense orchestral music)

(g*n blasting)

(van crashing)

- When the authorities

found the clearing,

they said the van had already

crashed into the pigpen.

(pigs snorting)

(tense orchestral music)

- We had already

gone by that time.

We left Clarice with Hugo,

hoping that she'll be okay.

(shirt tearing)

- After I saw

that huge m*therf*cker

come crawling out the van,

I bolted out of there as

fast as I could. What?

I wasn't gonna stick

around and wait for him

to come kick my a*s.

I've seen enough

horror flicks, thank you.

(intense orchestral music)

(intense

orchestral music continues)

(shell clinking)

(intense

orchestral music continues)

- Eric was bleeding so much.

You know, I, I had to find

help as soon as possible.

- [Barry] What the f*ck?

(door clicks and slams)

(footsteps pattering)

(door clicking)

(Lisa breathes heavily)

(seatbelt clacking)

- Okay.

Okay. (groans)

(Eric groaning)

Come on. No.

- Just give me a second.

- Oh. (groans)

- Okay, okay. Come on.

- Okay. Okay.

(Lisa grunting)

(bells ringing)

(door creaks and slams)

- Barry, Barry, come quick!

- Give me a f*cking minute.

- No, emergency!

- (sighs) sh*t.

- Helen?

She tricked us. She locked

me and Eric in the back room.

It was all part of her scheme.

She was selling

jerky to the whole county.

That's why they were

sending a bunch of tourists

to this place, more product.

- Well, this,

this is new development.

Um, what was

he doing with the money?

Hugo lived like a hermit.

- It wasn't

money that Hugo wanted.

He wanted his mom.

- Huh?

(tense orchestral music)

- Barry and

Helen were lying to him.

- [Helen] What did you do, Hugo?

I can never let

you slip up like this.

How could you let two

stupid kids run away?

I know you've been a bad boy

Now take care of that and

we'll figure out the shipments.

- Where's Mama?

- She called earlier.

She said if you can keep

it up a little bit longer,

then she'll come back.

The money that was sent helps.

(tense orchestral

music continues)

- (exhales) Let

me get this straight.

They made him believe his

mother was getting the money?

- They were the ones making

him do everything he was doing.

Hugo would do

anything for his mom.

- There are

different experts studying

the psychology

behind what he did.

So you're saying he was tricked.

- Hugo is special.

- "Special."

Lisa, the death

toll is staggering.

Why do you think

Hugo spared you?

- I wanna talk about Eric.

- Of course.

- Help us, please!

(hand pounding)

He died in the back room

where Helen locked us.

Please, let us go!

Let us go!

- [Helen] Barry,

we're closing early.

- [Barry] Yeah,

that's a good idea.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

- [Helen] He'll come for them.

- [Barry] What

makes you so sure?

- [Helen]

He never wastes the meat.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

- I told Eric to stay strong.

I told him not to give up.

(gasps) I'm applying pressure.

Why is it not working?

I tried to stop the bleeding.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(door clicking)

(engine rumbling)

I'm the one

who invited him to the trip.

I'm the reason he's

there. Somebody help us!

(engine humming)

There's no forgiving that.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

- [Sammy] How did

you get out of there?

- I told you,

they had a shotgun.

(Hugo breathing heavily)

(lock clicking)

- Hey, hold on.

Where's the shotgun?

- I shot him.

(shotgun blasting)

The second Hugo walked

in the door, I shot him.

They left Eric there to die.

I think that when I walked

out of the back room

and I saw

the window and the real world,

I realized how

close we were to escaping.

It didn't have

to happen like that.

I shot them.

(eerie electronic music)

I shot Helen. I shot Barry.

(shotgun blasting)

(head exploding)

And then I called the police.

I didn't really

know what to say.

I just kind of freaked out.

I hung up and I, I went

to the nearest town.

And yeah, that's what happened.

- There are still some

unanswered questions.

(inhales) Let me

get this straight.

Hugo was never found.

- Correct.

- How did

he survive such a wound?

I mean, from

what you're telling me,

you shot him at

a really close distance.

- He's a really strong man.

- Also, Eric's

body was never found.

- Hugo must have taken him.

- Lisa, is there something

you're not telling me?

- Huh?

- Everything you're telling me

sounds really convincing,

but at the same

time, the timeline's off.

I don't know if you

realize, but you disappeared

for eight full months.

This all sounds like it happened

during the course

of a week at most.

- I must have been confused.

I didn't really get to feel

time like everyone else.

- Lisa, I, I don't wanna

make you get upset.

- I can't really speak about

all of this and not be upset.

I've had to

make sense of it all.

- Lisa, I have to

ask you the question

that everyone's been wondering,

what did you do in

order to survive Hugo?

- I'm not

answering any more questions.

- Lisa, I, I don't wanna

make you get upset.

- I'm not answering any

more f*cking questions!

(door clicking)

- Ms. Lancaster, I

think that'll be enough.

Lisa needs her rest.

- Of course. Drew,

can you cut the camera?

- Cutting.

(patient coughing)

- Thank you for your time, Lisa.

(chair creaking)

(patients chattering)

(traffic whirring)

(door clicking)

I'll catch you later, Drew.

Send me the link to the footage

whenever you get a chance.

(keypad clicking)

(door banging)

(phone ringing)

Mike, did you find anything?

- Ooh, not much.

Um, she was registered

as Elizabeth Murphy.

She disappeared 35 years ago.

Became famous for the jerky.

And then not

much really after that.

- Okay, so Lisa said

the gas station people

were forcing

Hugo to make the jerky.

They somehow made him believe

that's how he was gonna

get his mother back.

And poor Lisa. I mean, she

was just, I don't know.

She thought she was being safe,

but she was in greater danger.

And she called the police

hoping to be rescued,

but I, I don't know if

they actually made contact.

- No, she didn't. She never,

she never called the police.

- What?

- They pulled her over.

That's how they found her.

She was driving the

ranger's Jeep really fast

down the country road, remember?

- No, no, no, no, she called,

- [Mike] There's no record of

a phone call to the police.

Good thing

they found her when they did.

She'd have been

driving for a while.

You know, she was going

the wrong way. Right?

- Oh my God.

(siren wailing)

- Sammy?

(bright electronic music)

(bright electronic

music continues)

(bright electronic

music continues)

(bright electronic

music continues)

- [Fiona]

You need to find somebody

who can really take care of you.

Okay? Somebody

who is kind and sweet.

- [Sammy] God knows

when Eric really died.

He might have died months

before she actually said he did.

(knife slicing)

(blood spraying)

(soft dramatic music)

(body slamming)

- You k*lled him!

It's your fault! (cries)

It's your fault!

(Eric choking)

(blood spurting)

(bright electronic music)

- [Hugo] Don't waste the meat.

(bright electronic

music continues)

(bright electronic

music continues)

- Eric?

- Eric no more.

Daddy.

(bright orchestral music)

(bright orchestral

music continues)

- Wait. You, you said his

mother's name was Elizabeth?

- [Mike] Yes, that's right.

(bright orchestral

music continues)

(bright orchestral

music continues)

(bright orchestral

music continues)

- [Sammy] Evan Smith.

- Ah, are you okay?

(spear whooshes and stabs)

- Ah! (screams)

- Good boy, Hugo, good boy.

- Please, no!

(body scraping)

(engine humming)

- No power lines. How could

you live without electricity?

- Huh. Hugo's old school.

- Don't waste the meat,

Hugo. k*ll the intruders.

- Yes, Mama.

(bright orchestral music)

(insects chittering)

- [Sammy] So Clarice came

back to the lake months later.

- Is anybody here?

Tony?

Kids?

She wasn't trying to be found.

She was actually pissed

that Clarice came back.

- A boy that was

hidden in a ice house?

Uh, no, I think I

would've remembered that.

And I didn't see the girl either

after they all disappeared.

You know, that park

ranger didn't do sh*t.

(inhales and exhales)

I felt, I felt guilty.

I felt like

I hadn't done enough.

Months went by and

so I finally went back

around Thanksgiving, you know?

And when I got to

the clearing, (sighs)

that huge monster,

he came outta nowhere.

I had to defend

myself, you know?

But I did.

(g*n blasting)

- Hugo!

- [Clarice] I did

some damage to him.

- My boy, my Hugo.

- I tried to warn people.

I said, "Hey, maybe that

Sasquatch son of b*tch,

he's the one who's taking

the kids and the men."

Nobody, nobody listened to me.

They said I'm the crazy lady.

"What are you talking about?

Hugo, Hugo, he's harmless."

Well, guess what? Guess what?

- Hugo! Hugo!

You're late for the

shipment! Where are you?

- She didn't k*ll the gas

station people to save herself.

She was saving

Hugo. She did it for him.

- You're not gonna

lie to Hugo anymore.

(g*n blasting)

- [Mike] Wow, that is, uh,

you should really call

the police right now.

(camera beeping)

- Okay, camera's off.

Let's get outta here.

- No, um, I mean, yes. Oh, f*ck.

(camera rustling)

(intense orchestral music)

But she's here right now.

(camera clattering)

- (groans) What the...

What, what? No, no!

(camera whacking)

(Drew screaming)

(blood spurting)

f*ck, no!

What? (groans)

(static buzzing)

(blood spurting)

- I need to get

her on camera again.

Hang on 'cause I gotta grab

Drew before it's too late. Okay?

Drew.

(Sammy screaming)

- Sammy, you there? Sammy?

(hands tapping)

- Please!

Ah, ah, please!

Please, open the door!

Help! Help!

Somebody open the door!

(glass shattering)

(flesh squelching)

(Sammy coughs and gasps)

Daytime Emmy.

(hands squeaking)

(glass cracking)

(eerie electronic music)

- [Attendant] Hey, you can't

be here, buddy. (screams)

(furniture banging)

(patients screaming)

(intense orchestral music)

(door banging)

(light buzzing)

(body thudding)

(eerie electronic music)

- Good boy, Hugo. Good boy.

(soft piano music)

(soft piano music continues)

- The whereabouts of Hugo

Murphy are still unknown.

After more than a month,

authorities can't seem

to figure out where the hermit

of Lyndon Park has escaped to.

In the meantime, all

supplies of Hermit Jerky

have been

confiscated by authorities.

- Excuse me. Have you

ever tried Hermit Jerky?

- Oh hell no. Why

would you ask me that?

- I know a friend who did.

He said it was delicious,

but he doesn't

talk about it anymore.

- No. No, of course not.

- Hermit Jerky, yeah, I have.

Ah, I love that jerky.

Um, it's my favorite kind.

And I, I actually

have some right here.

- (gasps) Oh my God.

- Do you wanna try it?

Oh my God. Get

that, get that, get that.

Listen, big boy

(static buzzing)
