01x10 - In Pursuit of a Map

Post by bunniefuu »

[narrator]

Helck, Vermilio, and Piwi

crossed the perilous ocean,

finally reaching the continent.

They meet locals from the

ruined kingdom of Erille,

where the Tothman barbarians

have imposed a reign of terror.

Helck rises up to fight

the Tothman King.

[opening theme]

[IN PURSUIT OF A MAP]

[dramatic fanfare]

[Tothman growls]

[Tothman yells]

[dramatic music continues]

- That thing's a monster!

- Protect the princess!

Crap! He's out of control!

You all need to get out of here!

We'll figure out how to

handle him ourselves.

[Erillian 1] Oh, okay.

[Tothman roars]

[Vermilio] Okay, jerk.

I've had enough of you.

Once and for all!

[Tothman yells]

[Vermilio gasps]

It grew back?

I didn't know barbarians had

the ability to heal.

Wait. No.

He only became capable

of doing that

after taking on

that enormous form.

Even his combat level has

skyrocketed.

Who is this b*stard?

[gasps]

[dramatic music]

'Kay, as*h*le. I'll put

you out of your misery.

[Tothman growls]

[dramatic music continues]

Whoa. Such a tremendous

amount of power.

Even though his hostility

isn't aimed at me,

it almost feels like I

could be k*lled as well.

[Tothman yelling]

He didn't use any magic.

All that damage came

purely from his punch!

[Tothman groaning]

Wait a second, Helck!

It's over! He's done for!

[Tothman groaning]

What a pleasant sensation.

I've never felt anything

like it before.

What a pitiful fool.

He exhausted all of

his remaining energy

just for one momentary

boost of power.

[Tothman groaning]

[somber music]

[Tothman] So nice. So quiet.

[somber music continues]

I don't get it.

He was never actually

strong enough to

pose a real threat.

So why was I scared?

Why did I feel a chill

go down my spine

right when he started

to transform?

Maybe changing size and shape is

an ability of the Tothman tribe.

I just don't know.

Wait, this land's completely

free of the toxin,

so there should be

no correlation

to their powers at all.

That said, something is

off about this whole thing

and it's got me nervous.

Careful, Helck.

We are directly responsible

for the brutal death

of their king.

Guess we can't

celebrate just yet.

This won't take long.

All my thanks.

- Huh?

- Huh?

- Thank you.

- Thanks.

Really appreciate it.

Okay. Uh, you're welcome.

Were they just too afraid

to defy their king?

[soft music]

What is that light over there?

I haven't the slightest idea.

Let's check it out.

[Piwi screams]

Piwi! You all right?

Look! They're shiny!

[Vermilio] Yes. I can see that!

[Erillean 1] Ah, my body!

It's changing!

[Erillean 2] Are we reverting?

Huh? Has the curse been broken?

[triumphant music]

We're back, baby!

[Erilleans cheering]

I'm not sure I understand

the nature of this curse.

Good for them.

[triumphant music continues]

[Princess] My dear travelers,

are you okay?

- Your highness!

- Princess!

You have saved us.

Please tell me you're not hurt.

Nah, we're just peachy.

[Princess sighs]

As of now, the reign of the

Tothman has come to an end,

which means we can again enjoy

the peace and freedom

of our kingdom.

Thank you so very much

for saving Erille

and all its people.

We are in your debt.

Don't mention it.

I mean it, really.

Please no need

for all that business.

We don't need any bowing.

[Vermilio] These

people were on the brink,

ready to face certain doom

after the fall

of their kingdom.

It's no wonder

they're grateful.

We shall pass down the

tales of your heroic deeds

for many generations.

So please, I beg of you to

share your names with us.

Don't praise me as "Granny!"

[laughs] Oh, well shucks.

[joyful music]

[Piwi laughing]

[Helck laughing]

With that wrapped up, our

next step is to head west.

Now, there are two large

kingdoms off in that direction,

so chances are good that

we can find a map

leading to the empire.

Cheep?

Wait.

Where'd Helck run off to?

- [Helck] Anne, take a look!

- Hm?

They're still waving

goodbye to us over there.

Pay attention here!

[Princess] Lord Helck,

Lady Granny,

be safe on your journey!

[Helck] Goodbye!

[Vermilio]

My name is not Granny!

Those are some good folks.

Hope they can get back

on their feet.

[Piwi screams]

Oh, please stop doing

that. Don't squish me!

The next kingdom was wiped out?

Well, I was just a

guy traveling through,

so I don't have all the details,

but as I understand it,

a nasty w*r broke out between

them and the nearby kingdom

and both of them

went up in smoke.

Wait, what?

So you're saying that

both of the kingdoms

were destroyed?

The w*r between them

must have raged forever.

[traveler] Not at all.

I heard it only took a few days

for both of them

to be obliterated.

You might want to go to
