there was a goddess, um,
of people giving birth,

um, named Heqet, and she was a frog.

And Hecate, um, the Greek goddess,
um, is probably based on her,

and she's the goddess of witchcraft.

And so probably why witches and frogs
are often together is because of that.

That's pretty interesting, yes.

I do admit,

I've always wondered why black cats
are associated with witchcraft.

I don't know the answer to that one.

No, but people who are hunting witches
would sometimes k*ll black cats too.

But that might have been
what helped to allow the bubonic plague,

the Black Death, to spread in the 1300s

because we know
the bubonic plague was carried by fleas,

but when we see...
but, of course, the fleas infested rats,

and since, you know, cats eat rats,

k*lling a lot of cats meant that the rats
could breed more numerously,

and, of course, then there are more fleas
on those rats to carry the plague, so... Mm.

like, super interesting, yeah.
