I'm thinking of something very rigid.
And I really love the temple
and the golden thing
on top of this temple here,
which has all these golden rings.
It will be contrasted in this water world.
What is it supposed to do?
A lot of thoughts are coming over me.
I was raised in a super Catholic family.

with really loving, supporting parents.
But at an early age, I realized I was g*y,
raised in a Catholic family,
and that was when I first started wearing,
like, all black.
It was representing, like,
the deep depression I didn't realize I had.
It took years and years to crawl out of that.
Now, I'm a totally well-adjusted adult.
I have a loving family.
I'm proud to be g*y.
But I also have this religious past.
It's beautiful.
The opposing forces
I'm thinking about right now
is that, me, as this loud, freaky, g*y man,
coming from a religious base,
there's an opposition there
that will never meet up.
But I play with that tension in my work.
I play with it in my life.
It's always inspired me.
But it's complicated.
It's really complicated.

Obviously, I love a dark palette.

So, my showpiece was a big jacket
with a huge hood.

Esther. Tell us about your collection.
Okay. Well, I have been thinking a lot
after our last conversation.
I was thinking a lot about my business.
Black will stay the center of my collection.
I was rather thinking of, how can I go a bit
out of this very matte, dark black,
but integrating something
which is maybe sheer, transparent,
maybe including other fabrics.
So that if I imagine my collection online,
it's not only like just one black wall.
My first idea was the opposition,
having, like, light and shadow.
This gold dress,
it looks a bit like a jellyfish.
It's also, like, tradition
and new technologies with the PVC
and the edges, which are fluorescent.
Also, very colorful sneakers.
And then I actually translated the same thing
into a wearable look.
I was very excited to see you try
something so different
and not only did you do color,
but you did metallics.
I don't know that I would encourage you
to keep on doing metallics with PVC
in your collection,
just because it didn't feel
as authentic to me.
- Yeah.
- PVC's a very difficult material to use,
because when it's too much,
it can kind of look like a costume.
And so, I didn't love
the second outfit for that.
I love that you thought of what we said
to you the last time,
and I love how you solved the problem.
I loved the black dress.
I totally get it, how you kind of created
the transparency.
The gold one I'm not so in love with,
even though I was like, "Bring some color!"
But it was really just the density of not
just being like a black blob, so to speak.

I liked both your dresses.
Both your dresses I see on the runway now.
And I respect that you stick to who you are.
Yeah. At the end of the day, I actually think
that's what makes you a strong brand.

So, for my duality, I chose something
that is very close to the brand.
I chose product, something that's consumable,
and that against art.
For my looks, I chose something that's
an icon of, like, product, consumption,
like a t-shirt and a pants.
So, I took the normal top,
then I made a cut in
as if there was, like, a t-shirt
inside of the t-shirt.
As you see with the cutout.
And then the skirt basically is cut
like a t-shirt and with the pockets out.
It's like a it creates the shape
of a t-shirt.
- But then to make it wearable again, I
- Ah! My lightbulb just went "ding!"
The same for the pants.
Like, you have normal pants,
and then it kind of doubles on top.
One thing I loved about your two looks,
they really go hand in hand.
And that is so important
during a fashion show,
to have a whole collection,
there is a whole theme.

I would definitely want to wear it.

and these looks were really that.
You know, you're very young,
but the way that you think,
I actually think is always very consistent
and always very on-brand for you.

So, I thought this challenge
was really perfect for me,
because working with different dualities
is entirely about my brand,
and I really wanted to bring in
what I know best,
which is my traditional Korean heritage
and the modern Western world,
and merge them together.
And the lettering on the front
is actually my name in Korean.
I really love my first look,
because I think it conceptualizes
everything I want it to say through clothing.
And I wanted the second look to be
the accessible version of that look.

So, it's kind of like the puffer
and I loved the whole traditional, authentic,
basing it on your culture.
The second look for me

on some places,
then the skirt just looked
like it was chopped off on the bottom.

"Why not I do a contrast
between Judaism and Buddhism?
And as you know, I'm Jewish, I'm Israeli.
And then I told myself, "Let me take elements
from the Hasidic Jew's outfit."
So, I went to blue from the sky,
and then I had hints of menswear pinstripe.
And then, for the Buddhist look,
I wanted to be more flowy and loose,
inspired by the Sun.
And how do these looks represent your brand?
So, I'm a very spiritual person,
and I work out of my emotion.
I'm also very inspired by the different
emotions I'm going through in life,
or just different events in life.
I'm very eclectic,
so the inspiration will change.

we've gotten to know your competitors
