For as long
as Joe can remember...
..there has been
one singular truth.
One consistency.
- Joe--
- I know, Dad!
At exactly 8:15 every morning,
no matter what,
there is a ring at the door.
I'm late!
Mum!
On the other side of that door,
there is
Joe's best friend, Frisbo.
Alright?
Dorange?
Not a word.
I told you,
nothing rhymes with it.
Okay, what about fo--
Huh.
My shoe's squeaking.
Squeaky shoe.
Whazzup?
- Guess what?
- My shoe's squeaking!
Squeaky shoe.
This will never get old!
-Squeak!
- Squeak!
-Squeak!
- Squeakity-squeak-squeak!
With each and every step,
Joe enjoys it less and less.
Will you please STOP!
It occurs to him
that this may last all day.
- It's not funny any more!
- Oh.
Yeah, okay.
Moments like this teach Joe
the true meaning of friend--
Squeakerrr!
- Joe Connolly.
- Yes, Sir!
Squeak!
- Watch this.
- Wait for the squeak.
The squeak is from his shoe.
Yeah, Hitesh!
That's the joke!
Squeak! Squeak!
The time is 10:45,
and there isn't
a thing in the world
that could brighten Joe's mood.
- Oi, Squeaker!
- Joe! Joe! Do the squeak!
Except for Lily Scott.
The night before,
Joe had stayed up late,
thinking of topics
to discuss with her.
When will the world end?
Favourite condiment?
Pterodactyls... that's it!
Pterodactyls!
Where this conversation
may lead, Joe is unsure.
Did you know
the pterodactyl's diet
consists mainly of fish
and other small animals?
And it walked on four legs,
not two!
Together they'd live
an ideal life on the beach,
and solve mysteries.
He's the bank robber!
Get him, Jeremy!
I'd have gotten away with it
if it wasn't
for those pesky kids
and their darn
pterodactyl facts!
Did you know
a young pterodactyl
is called a flapling?
Wow! What amazing knowledge,
Joe Connolly!
And it all starts here.
Squeak!!
Can you just--
- Hey.
- Alright?
Undeterred by distractions,
Joe Connolly knows
exactly what to say.
Did you know
that the pterodactyl is--
[ Squeeeeakerr!
- Squeak? What's that?
- Nothing! It's just--
That's why we call him
The Squeakerrr!
Every passing second he is
further away from pterodactyls.
You think that's funny?
Frisbo got a verruca
at the pool last week.
He has to wear
a special plaster.
- And--
- Joe! Shut up!
No! YOU shut up!
Oh, right.
You weren't supposed
to say about--
Mere moments
after his complete failure,
Joe is sure of one thing...
it's all Frisbo's fault.
Oh! Sitting HERE, are you?
Ooh! Sittin' here are you?
- I don't sound like that!
- Yeah, you do!
You sound just like that.
- Shut up!
- Tsk! Good comeback!
It is only a matter of time
until he comes to senses
and apologises.
B plus!
Fantastic work, boys!
- What?
- Joe Connolly is a C student.
You know what I always say?
Great friendships
make great pots.
In front of him
lies his best grade ever.
All thanks to their pot.
As Joe's fingers touch the clay,
he realises...
Well done, mate.
A stupid argument
is not worth their pot.
- Thanks.
- Or their friendship.
Frisbo... I've been thinking
about this morning.
It was stupid
and just... rubbish and...
The time has come.
So I've decided,
I reckon I can forgive you.
- What?!
- If you say sorry.
- Me say sorry?
- Yeah.
- But you said about my verruca!
- YOU started it.
You said you wouldn't
tell ANYONE about that!
Well I wouldn't have, if you
hadn't done the squeak thing!
I'm definitely not saying sorry.
I don't wanna be
best friends any more.
- Good! Me neither!
- Great!
Yeah, fantastic!
Perfect.
Joe and Frisbo
have had 853 arguments.
And every single time,
it worked out.
Ugghhh! I don't wanna
be best friends any more!
Just give me some of your chips.
No, it's not my fault
you dropped yours.
I don't wanna
be best friends any more!
- Oh! Can I have a go?
- No way!
Grr! I don't wanna
be best friends any more!
And just like all 853 of them,
this would turn out just fine.
No matter what Frisbo never sits
next to anyone else in R.E.
Alright, Hitesh?
- What up, home slice?
- Not Hitesh!
Joe Connolly has never
felt so alone.
It has been one hour
since the end of school.
This is the first time Joe
has walked home without Frisbo.
And without him,
he has no idea what to do.
Joe wouldn't be able to open
the Sweet & Salty café
they had planned.
Instead,
there would only be Salty.
He would still land on the moon.
Unfortunately, only Frisbo
could assemble the tent.
Worst of all, Joe had
no one to share lunches with.
- Raisins?
- Yep.
- Yogurt?
- Yep.
As a new day dawns,
Joe Connolly sees the truth.
He has no best friend.
No pottery.
No doorbell.
No Frisb--
Alright?
[ Shut up!]
