01x14 - Tadpoles

Post by bunniefuu »

Joe Connolly's
in French class.

What is
the French word for 'love'?

For the very first time,
he's concentrating...

- CAMILA: I know! It's l'amour.
- ..On Lily Scott.

Can anyone tell me
the French for 'I love you'?

The previous night,
he had come to a conclusion.

I'm going to ask Lily out.

Joe Connolly
will ask out Lily Scott.

Oi, Lily!

Hi!

Hi.

Hi.

Hey guys!

Um, did you get up to much
last night?

Not really. Pasta for dinner.

- You?
- Yeah, cool. Pasta's cool.

Yeah, pasta is cool.

This is the moment
Joe Connolly will ask.

Penne, that's my favourite.

All it requires is a few words.

Oh yeah.
We had spaghetti though.

Do you like that?

And the right moment.

Yeah, I love spaghetti.

- And that moment is now.
- Uh...

Soooo I was thinking...

Finding his words,
Joe conquers his fear and asks--

My mates are over there
so I should, um...

- Yeah, course.
- See ya.

In this moment,
Joe sees he cannot do it.

He needs help. He needs...

- Alright!
- Frisbo, Joe's best friend.

He'd do
just about anything for Joe--

Josh Chun says tadpoles
are just baby frogs.

Tsk, Can you believe that?

- Hmmm.
- Tsk, madness.

There are 5 reasons
why Frisbo is bad for this role.

Frisbo gets nosebleeds
when he's nervous.

Now,
our school anthem played by--

He always brings up time travel.

I'm going to the future.

That way
I can see Deadly Viper 9.

And his grandma.

Grandma loves the Deadly Viper
series. She's called Michelle.

- Has no self awareness.
- BAZ: Please stop talking.

And always forgets
what he's trying to say.

Where do you want to go?

Good question. Peru for sure.

For all these reasons,
Frisbo's a terrible choice.

So he goes, tadpoles--

Fortunately, in this moment
Joe realises that--

- PETE WILSON: Wazzuurrr!
- There is another option.

Hey, did you know frogs
are grown up tadpoles?

Yeah, of course!

Pete Wilson,
the answer to all Joe's prayers.

Pete Wilson.
Infinitely cooler than Joe

and has had
at least 3 girlfriends.

Tanya Crew. Met in geography.

Pete impressed her with his
knowledge on tectonic plates.

Duration, 2 days.
Charlotte George.

Pete beatboxed to her at lunch.
Duration, 1 day.

Eisha Khela.
Met at the school disco,

danced together to Endless Love.
Duration, 3 hours.

Wow, Joe it's so romantic

how you got Pete Wilson
to ask me out

so I said yes.
I'd have said no otherwise.

Yippee!

Punch, kick. Punch!

Punch, kick.

My hero!

From now on, Pete will ask

all of Joe's
important questions.

Hi Mr. And Mrs. Connolly.

Joe wondered
if he could get a new laptop.

- Oh absolutely.
- Only because you asked, Pete.

You wanted to speak to me,
Mr. Connolly?

Yes, I have something
I need to ask.

Can Joe be paid
a million pounds?

Absolutely! Seeing
as you asked, Pete Wilson!

Joe's accomplishments will be
endless with Pete by his side.

Aha! I have defeated you now,
Dr. Bizarro.

Oh, have you?

I'll never tell you
how to defuse this b*mb!

- Red or black wire?
- Black wire.

All he has to do is ask Pete.

So, you doin' alright?

I, you know,
just sort of a little bit--

Hey Pete, can you
do something for me?

Not right now, mate.
I've gotta go. See ya.

If Joe really wants Lily,
he has to get Pete first.

So it goes tadpole,
frog and then bat!

Hey Pete, can you
do something for me?

Not right now, Joe.

Pete, you can go wait
in the classroom.

All he has to do
is to get Pete to--

Pete, could you do me
a massive favour?

Not now, mate.
Bit busy.

All he needs--

Pete! Pete!
I just need you to do one thing.

So, will you help?

Pete? Pete?!

- So can you? Pete?!
- Listen, can you just leave it?

Desperate times,
desperate measures.

- Milly?
- No! Lily!

- Never heard of her.
- You have!

I've spoken about her loads.

What about
the texts at Christmas?

What about the disco?

She was the girl
I was sharing crisps with.

Oh yeah.

A-a-alright. Well, I need you
to do something for me.

Can you ask
Lily Scott out for me?

Okie dokes.

And just like that,
Joe was one step closer.

A historic moment.

Not just for Joe

but for his life with Lily.

- FRISBO: Alright?!
- Here we go!

As he watches,

he knows everything's

gonna work out just--

Oh no!

It soon becomes apparent
exactly why Frisbo

wasn't a good choice for this.

This is what I heard.

Tadpole, frog

and I'm pretty sure
bat comes after that.

- Get it?
- No.

His chances with Lily
crumble before his eyes.

It's a bit like my grandma,
Michelle.

She says lots of things change
as you get older.

What?!

No-no-no-no-no!

I still
don't believe it.

Abort!

- Ah!
- Joe knows her.

Joe, you know Michelle,
don't ya?!

- Joe?
- Oh no.

Why are you hiding?

And now, this is it for Joe.

This is the end.

Oh wait,
what was I supposed to ask?

I don't know.

Rawr! Now you will never
go out with her!

Rawr! Rawr! Rawr! Rawr! Rawr!

Uh, rawr?

As Joe sits alone,
his love life in tatters,

he knows
he can only blame himself.

- You alright, mate?
- Or Pete Wilson.

Wazzuurr!

- What's up?
- Yeah.

What's up is everything's ruined
and actually it's your fault!

My fault?

Fuelled by rage, Joe can
no longer contain his emotion.

You were supposed
to ask Lily out for me.

- Lily Scott?!
- Yeah but you wouldn't help.

So I had to find someone else.

I've just been a bit busy.

Yeah and now
everything is ruined!

- I've got a lot on.
- So you've been saying!

What could be so important
you couldn't help me?

My parents are getting divorced.

Sometimes
when you don't know what to say,

all you can do is be there.

I-I didn't-- I mean, I--

It's OK.

Who did you get to ask her out?

I just stepped in dog muck!

Oh no, you didn't get him
to do it?

I think she was pretty into it
to be honest!

Hey! She was. At least
I didn't get a nosebleed.

He was talking
about the tadpoles again.

Oh no, not the tadpoles!

Right, it's madness mate.

How do they become frogs?

Where do the legs come from?

Madness, mate. Madn--

Lily says yes.
