This is one of the most spectacular sights
you'll see in Xus Park.

It's called a superbloom.

Because it's super awesome.

They happen every ten years or so
in Xus National Park.

Ten years?

Ugh! Why do superblooms
take so long to happen?

[Kodi] Glad you asked.

The Xus Park Ranger guide says the desert
has to be dry enough before a bloom.

The flowers also have to get
just the right amount of rain.

Whoa.

Cool. This calls for a selfie.

-Freeze right there!
-[boy 1] Aah!

I'm frozen. I'm frozen.

Junior Ranger rule number 241,
don't crush the poppies.

You could hurt them.

Take all the pictures you want,
but we have to stay on the path.

Poppies are really sensitive.

It's important
to give the qupés their space.

If they get crushed,
they might not grow back next season.
