will earn their spot in the next round,

joining ten other contenders

there's still a wild card spot
up for grabs in the men's bracket.

The fastest Eliminator time
among the non-winners earns

a head-to-head run against Michael
at the end of the night

for the final spot in the semifinals.

for a detailed look
at how this whole thing works.

Our contenders,
they're about to face the gladiators

in three hard-hitting events
to rack up precious points.

Joust, Powerball, and Atlasphere.

Every point they rack up
over their opponents buys them

a half-second head start
in tonight's final event,

the Eliminator, which decides
who moves on and who goes home.

Let's go down
to The Miz and Rocsi for more.

Okay, are you ready to rock?

Rocsi, give us the hard-hitting details
on our first event.

You got it.

First up, the last game of Joust.

Armed with the iconic pugil sticks,

contenders and gladiators trade blows
atop an eight-foot podium.

If contenders can stay standing
for 30 seconds, they earn five points.

Knock the gladiator off
and they'll earn ten points.

[Chris] We're kicking things off
with our women's heat.

Terri Bell is a former Army vet

who overcame homelessness and wants
to prove she can't be knocked down again.

She's facing off against Ilana Sedaka,
a 24-year-old national champion ice dancer

who's here to show
that you can be tough and pretty.

Let's learn a little more about her.

[Ilana] I grew up figure skating.

I've won
two national solo ice dance medals.

I'm a four-time gold medalist.

Having the beauty, people just think

you're this beautiful person
on the outside,

but being beautiful is not
just everything.

Sometimes the beauty helps,

but a lot of times,
people underestimate you.

They don't think
that you're capable of much

because you have that pretty privilege.

I can also be powerful.
I can also be strong.

I can also be a champion.

If I can balance on a little blade,
I can balance on some beams or two.

You don't even know what's coming.

[crowd cheering]

It's Ilana's turn to joust.

Our figure skater will need
to swap her triple axel

for a battle axe in this event,

but there's a gladiator
looking to take her down.

Fall in love or fall in pain?

Either way, you're going down.

It's Crush.

[Rocsi]
Crush, she's undefeated on The Wall

and 1-0 and 1 on Hang Tough.

Now she's out to claim
her first joust win.

Thomas, take it away.

[Chris] Figure skater Ilana is used
to competing on an edge.

Can she land it here in the arena?

Gladiator, ready!

And giving up nearly 50 pounds to Crush.

[whistle blowing]

[Chris] Let's see
how the former figure skater does.

She takes three, four, five, six shots.

Oh, she's down on the pod!

She's trying to get back up.

Somebody stop the fight!

Crush knocking her down for the count.

[whistle blowing]

Crush living up to her name,
delivering blow after blow.

And the figure skater scoring a 0.0.

Come on over here, Ilana.

Go ahead, take off your helmet.

Wow, what an amazing performance.

Ilana, how are you feeling right now?

I'm all right. I'm doing good.
That was the first challenge.

I'm still here to fight, never giving up.

How's your head?

You took a lot of big headshots.

My head's fine. It looks pretty.

Crush, once you had her on the ground,

you saw her
sitting on her bum up there on the joust.

What was going through your mind?

Finish her.

And that you did. Great jousting.

Thank you so much.

Crush has been so dominant
throughout this competition

and shown no signs of slowing down.

But now it's Terri Bell's turn
to step up to the podium.

She's 16 years Army strong,
battle tested in Iraq,

and powered by an unbreakable spirit.

I am a female warrior.

I am proud of the work that I've done
in my 16-year career with the Army.

I did one combat tour where we closed out
north and central Iraq.

I got an Army achievement medal
for saving the life of a baby.

I definitely wear
that veteran hat very proudly.

Once I left the military, COVID hits.

I'm living off a property that I own.

My tenant decided to be a squatter,

which caused me to lose my income flow.

And then the money ran out
and I didn't have any place to stay.

There begins my time
of being really homeless in Chicago.

Not having the money to feed yourself.

Very humbling experience.

Eventually, an organization
called Veterans of America

found me somewhere to stay.

It absolutely changed my life
and ultimately I'm a miracle.

And so my life can be an example

of somebody who has felt
like they hit rock bottom

to know that they can bounce back.

[crowd cheering]

Ten points up for grabs
as Terri steps up to the podium.

Returning to the arena, it's Crush.

This is going to be so good.

Thomas!

[Chris] Terri's here with her brother
and her friend in the audience.

Let's go!

Gladiator, ready!

They call her Crush,
but based on the way her abs look,

maybe Crunch is more apropos.

[Thomas and crowd] Three, two, one!

[whistle blowing]

[Chris] And the women are underway
and look at this, Crush out of the gate.

Terri's saying, "Thank you, ma'am,
may I have another?"

Just shot after shot right to the dome.

Terri losing her balance a little bit,
still stays upright.

Remember, if she makes it
the full 30 seconds,

she'll still get five points.

Crush takes a shot to the head.

They're going back and forth,
back and forth.

Can Terri make it?

Crush hanging in there.

The former military vet is going

Blake Wright, a 30-year-old all-American
bull rider from San Antonio, Texas.

He's ready to show off
his strength and Southern charm.

Ben Afuvai grew up in American Samoa,

but his family moved stateside
when he was 11.

He wants to show his family
that he is the American Dream.

My name is Ben. I live in Utah,
and I'm the American Dream.

I am originally
from the beautiful island of Samoa.

I have six brothers and three sisters.

Growing up, we had nothing
compared to the other kids on the street.

My mom and dad worked really hard

to move to the state
and make something out of ourselves,

and that's what we did,
and I'm proud of that.

Now I'm married and I have one daughter,

and I want her
to be proud of what I've done,

like to always remember who we are.

When we say "mana," it is
the energy we feel from our ancestor.

Being here at American Gladiators,

I know that it will inspire my daughter
to dream big, to level up.

[howling]

Next up on Joust, it's Ben.

He's had to fight for everything.
No pugil stick, just grit.

Now with ten points on the line,

he's facing a challenge
we've never seen before.

[Chris] Buckle up, because this beast
doesn't come with brakes.

the Bull is dangerous barehanded.

Ben's wife Sami is here, says
her husband is truly "the American Dream."

The way he works,
the way he takes care of his family.

[Chris] Oh, is he ready.

[Chris] Ben looks
like he's ready for battle.

[Chris] Ben on the attack,
he's got the Bull off-balance! Oh, no!

The Bull just put
his pugil stick on Ben's podium.

Gladiator's pugil stick touched
the platform of the contender.

We call that Gladiator Trespassing,

punishable by ten points
in favor of the contestant.

Alright, this one was over in a hurry.

Ben catches Bull off guard

and Bull touches Ben's podium,
getting DQ'd.

Sorry, Bull, no do-overs in this arena.

[The Miz] A little Samoan victory dance?
Is that what we're seeing over there?

[Rocsi laughs]

[The Miz] Come here, Ben!

That's called the Warrior Dance, baby.

I love that.

Everything I did today,
I got a lot of fight for my family.

They out there cheering for me,
I love them.

You caught me off guard.

in his performance against Ben,

[Chris] And now, it's the cowboy's turn.

Quick start by Bull,
he's trying to bull-rush him.

He gets in on Blake, has him off-balance.

And there he goes, he's gone!

[whistle blowing]

The Bull gets it done,

and he ends up
on big Blake's tower, standing tall!

The Bull roared back to life
after his loss to Ben,

knocking Blake clean off the platform
for some much-needed redemption.

You had a strategy, you switched it up.

How did you switch it up
on this performance?

Utter tenacity! Explosiveness!

Listen, the first performance,
I was caught on my toes.

Alright, hold on.
Looks like there's going to be a review.

So like I said,
I've got something to prove.

Thomas, you reviewed the play.

After further review,

the gladiator touched
the podium of the contender

before the contender hit the ground.

Five points are awarded to the contender.

Hey, I'll take the five points
and carry that on.

Let's hear it for Blake and the Bull!

[Chris] So after the first event,
it's Ben ten, Blake five.

That would be
a meager two-and-a-half-second head start

heading into the Eliminator.

Let's take it back down to Miz and Rocsi.

Time for ba*ls to fly into holes.

Rocsi, tell the people about Powerball.

[Rocsi] Powerball!

Sixty seconds of pure, unrelenting chaos.

Dodge the muscles, score the ba*ls.

Ben and Blake are ready
and they're facing a trio of terror.

It's Neon, Mayhem and Steel!

[Chris] Ben channeled his mana
and grabbed an early lead.

But Blake's not backing down.

This Lone Star contender is ready
to show what he's made of.

[Blake] I think I am
as American as he gets.

Southern hospitality,
give you the shirt off your back.

Take a girl out and kind of
spin her around on the dance floor.

Get your boots dirty
and you know that Southern charm.

I'm the all-American cowboy.

[woman] Go, go, go, go, go!

[Blake] I've been bull riding
probably about five years now.

You're screaming in the inside,
"I want off of this thing."

But it's like you have to will yourself,

say, "No, no, I'm going to get
on the back of this beast,

and I'm going to hold on
for eight seconds."

I'd take a gladiator
ten times out of ten, every day.

They're just a man.
They bleed just like me.

[crowd cheering]

[Chris] The gladiators are expected

to play some sort of zone
with Mayhem in the middle.

[Thomas] Three, two, one!

[whistle blowing]

[Chris] Powerball is back, baby!

Blake in the blue gets taken down
by two gladiators.

And wow, Ben gets slammed down by Mayhem.

My goodness, what is going on?

Blake, you've got to get to the other end.

[whistle blowing]

Got an injury.

Oh, babe!

Uh-oh.

Get up, babe!

Get up, you got it!

Stay, I got it, I got it. Off, off.

Don't move.

Just stay in your position.

[Chris] Ah, this is devastating.

Ben set out to show his family
what the American Dream looks like.

That dream might be
slipping away right here.

Oh, man, that is brutal.

Looks like it's a leg injury.

[The Miz] Oh, he's up.

[Rocsi] And they're bringing out
a chair for him to sit on.

This is so sad to see.

All of our gladiators
are coming over there.

Showing a lot of love,
a lot of sportsmanship happening.

Unfortunately we have bad news.

Ben is out of the competition.

He brought a great spirit,
and we wish him a really quick recovery.

[Chris] At the Gladiator Arena,
one moment you're on the bench,

the next, you're in the spotlight
with a shot at $100,000.

Kyle's a man from Alpharetta, Georgia.

He is a single dad
and an online fitness coach,

ready to shake up this whole competition.

Let's find out
a little bit more about him.

My name's Kyle Bernier. I'm 32 years old.

I'm from Alpharetta, Georgia.

I currently work as a server,
but also as an online fitness coach.

I'm doing this for my son, Maverick.

I just want him to have
a sense of pride in his father.

I can't see you.

I can't see you.

When I found out
I was going to be a father,

I was absolutely terrified.

I mean, we were as unready as you can be.

As hard as it's been,
having Maverick is just the best.

I learn a lot from him.

I want him to see
that you have to be willing to take risks,

you have to be willing to bet on yourself.

I run a fitness business,
and when someone says no to signing up,

it's like you're fighting
for food in your mouth.

You're fighting
for food in your kid's mouth.

Being here was a risk

because it goes against
what I felt like I should be doing.

Hunkering down my business, finding work,
all these things that would be

a sure foot in the door of like,
okay, you got a paycheck coming in.

If this doesn't pan out, you're screwed.

Being able to win this competition

quite literally helps me
survive for a little longer.

I'm going to win?

Right now, he has a five-point lead.

We will restart
with one minute on the clock.

[Chris] Here we go! Kyle making a move.

And he gets two quickly.
Blake loses the rock.

He has nothing.
Look at Kyle with the quickness.

Gets wrapped up by two gladiators.
He's down for the count.

[whistle blowing]

And Blake has lost his helmet.

Two helmets off!

[Chris] And so too is Kyle,
so we're going to have a restart.

How about Kyle working up a lather?

Forty-nine seconds to go.
Kyle with a two-nothing lead over Blake.

Blake says, "I'm coming
right for the gladiators' chest."

We will start on my whistle.
There will be no countdown.

[Chris] Here we go.

Kyle, great move with a k*ller crossover.

And another two points.
Blake gets taken down by Mayhem.

Oh, Kyle's spin move. And it's good.

Blake being shut out so far
and dragged down by Neon.

Kyle, he gets thrown out of bounds.

Blake trying to make some moves,
but Mayhem's got his hands on him.

Not a good place to be.

[crowd gasping]

Kyle now getting double-teamed

because the gladiators know
what he's all about.

And, oh, he just misses one.

Still looking. Oh, he just misses!

Hits the front rim.
Blake looking for points. Can't find any.

Kyle knocked off a shoe.
There goes his shoe.

Running out of steam as he gets done in
by two of American Gladiators' best.

What a showing. Kyle coming off the bench.

as he wins Powerball six to nothing.

Kyle inherits Ben's ten points,

So Kyle would hold a 5-and-a-half-second
head start going into the Eliminator,

but there's still the Atlasphere left

Now into the women's heat.
Terri's built for a b*ttlefield like this,

but Ilana is light on her feet.

This is a great opportunity

are about to tear it up in the arena.

and she's still fighting with the ball.

Ilana, oh, she sidesteps a tackle.
She had to do it wide open.

She still nets the first two points.

Terri gets dragged out of the arena,

and she's going to have
to run to the other side to restart.

Ilana, she gets dragged out.

Terri, not only has she been
brought down, she's lost her shoe.

Ilana and Terri have to work
their way to the other end.

taking it to the former military vet?

It has been brutal
for both of these women.

our contenders are locked inside

massive steel-plated spheres

and let loose with 60 seconds
and a short to-do list.

Hit the zone, rack up points,

and survive the gladiators
that are ready to blast you into oblivion.

[The Miz] Our male contenders,
Blake and Kyle,

are locked in their spheres
and ready to roll, but they're not alone.

On the other side,
waiting for them, it's Mayhem.

You ain't never seen
a big man move this fast, boy.

And the Bull.

a disappointing run in Joust,

the Bull's back with fire.

Now the question is,
can he turn it around?

Last chance for the competitors
to score points before the Eliminator.

Kyle out and running.
He's got a wide-open look at it.

Gets two quickly out of the gate.

Mayhem too late
to prevent him from scoring two points.

In the meantime, Bull with a serious shot
on Blake to keep him off a scoring pod.

[The Bull]
Where you going, mate? Got ya.

[Chris] Great defense by the Bull.
Blake's gotta get going.

Kyle, he's got a breakaway,
and he missed it.

He didn't quite hit the sensor.

He can't go back
to the one he just rolled over.

He's gotta find a new place to score.

Blake, so much strength in his legs,
but he's going against the Bull.

Closing in on 20 seconds to go.

Oh, Blake just gets pushed away by Bull.
Great defense by the gladiator.

Kyle scores another one.

Blake, he needs these two points.
Oh, he just gets pushed aside.

Kyle has six.

And that will do it.

For the second straight event,

Kyle, the alternate, pockets six points
while Blake gets shut out.

Kyle wowed the crowd,
picking up six points,

and man, the Bull came out
supercharged, shut Blake down.

That's the redemption he's been chasing,
and Blake left it all out there.

[Rocsi] Bull, that was
one of the most impressive revenge stories

that I've ever seen in my life.
Talk about a comeback.

You want to see the best?
You got the best. You got the Bull!

[The Miz] It looks like Blake's taking
a quick breather,

but Kyle, as an alternate,
you weren't even supposed to be here,

and now you're here dominating.

$100,000 is on the line.

[Kyle] Yeah, that means
more to me than you'll ever know,

but the Eliminator's going to be fun,
so I'm focused on that now.

to The Miz and Rocsi for more.

Now, the moment
that I've been waiting for,

the final event of the night.

It's the Eliminator.
Rocsi, tell us about it.

[Rocsi] The Eliminator,
a brutal race to the finish

that'll leave
even the toughest contenders winded.

Two of them must power through hurdles,

scale ropes,
and navigate a pesky set of monkey bars.

After a daring trapeze leap,

they'll climb a tangled cargo net
and sh**t down the zip line.

Next, a sprint across the balance beam

and a final charge
up the legendary Travelator.

running at top speed,

ten miles per hour for the men,
eight for the women,

before a daring rope swing
through the finish line.

There is a very interested spectator.

That is Bobby Levine.

His Eliminator time was 1:21:41.

And as long as the second-place finisher
in this Eliminator

doesn't better that time,

then Bobby will square off

with Michael Moralia
in a special Eliminator.

[The Miz] It's the bull rider
versus the single dad turned Daddy-ator.

A spot in the semifinals is

[Chris] Imagine what's going
through Kyle's brain,

getting called off the bench
in the middle of a competition.

after everything was done.

We certainly wish her a speedy recovery,
but as they say, the show must go on.

That means that Terri Bell will face
the fastest eliminated contender,

Rebecca Clements,
for the final spot in the semifinals.

Will it be Terri, the U.S. Army vet
who pulled herself out of homelessness,

or our circus star, Rebecca Clements,

who's coming off the sidelines,
prime for the big show?

Terri earned seven points
in tonight's events.

Rebecca inherits six points.

That translates to a trivial
half-second head start for Terri.

Now, make no mistake,

against Jordan Chefs in the semifinals.
