-Sam, you gotta hear me out on this.

I have got a car that will blow your mind.

This massive trade deal has really

come back to bite me right in the a*s.

I was trying to step things up

by upgrading and trading our way

into a gorgeous Ferrari 458 Italia.

But that deal is dead.

And now we're stuck with

an extremely unique

gas-powered Tesla Model S.

[Sam] I'd be way more interested in

going from gas to electric.

-Mm.

-A Tesla?

I don't think I can be seen

driving around in that.

Yeah, well,

we're talking about a hot rod Tesla.

A Tesla's still a Tesla.

[Shawn] I took a really big swing

on this trade deal

because I wanted to show everyone

that upgrade and trade was

just as valuable to the shop

as Nick's new high-end deals.

I don't know where this puts us

with trades moving forward,

but I need to clean up this mess

and do whatever I can

to find a buyer for this car.

[man] Seems like a lot

for a conversation piece.

I think I'm gonna have to pass on it.

When it's all said and done,

we're gonna have over $60,000

sunk into this whole trade deal,

not to mention weeks of work.

So Mark wants to sell this Tesla

for at least 90 grand.

In his mind, that's the only way

we'll get enough profit

to spread amongst eight people

and justify all this time and effort.

[phone beeps]

[sighs] How am I gonna get

myself out of this one?

[clicking]

[whirs]

So tell me about this deal

that Nick lined out.

Yeah, it's a buddy of Nick's.

-I guess the guy's a big car collector.

-Yeah.

He's got some good

classic American muscle cars.

[Mark] Hmm.

[Shawn] While I keep hunting around

for a buyer on the Tesla,

Nick has lined up another deal for us.

So Mark and I are on our way right now

to meet up with him and his client

to talk it all through.

So what what kind of car

is he looking for us to build?

Well, here's the thing.

It's not technically a car

that he wants built

What do you mean "technically"?

It either is a car or it isn't a car.

[Shawn] Now, full disclosure.

Nick's deal is a little unorthodox,

but he swears it'll be worth it.

Hear me out. There's this guy Ryan.

He wants us to build

some hot rod-inspired furniture pieces

for his man cave,

but he wants it Gotham Garage style.

[Mark] What are we, Ikea now?

[chuckles]

-[chuckles]

-[Shawn] Nick thinks this is a good deal.

This is one of his bigger clients,

and this guy is the kind of guy

that only likes to work

with a few select shops.

So if we can do him this favor,

maybe he wants to do

a bigger build down the road.

I think it's a great idea.

Know what scares me the most?

You think it's a great idea.

[both chuckling]

I'll listen to what he has to say,

I'll hear him out,

and then I'll make my decision

when we're done.

[mellow rock music playing]

Here they are. Hey, guys.

Hey. How you doing, Nick? Good to see you.

-Wanted to introduce you to Ryan.

-How you doing? I'm Shawn.

[Mark] Nice to meet you.

So Shawn was telling me

that you want us to do something

with your downstairs man cave.

-Let's take a look.

-[Mark] All right.

[Shawn] Is it as nice

as the rest of your house? 'Cause, man

-[Ryan] There's room for improvement.

-[Mark] It needs a little something?

Exactly. Right this way, guys.

This is it, huh?

Wow. Man, you got it all going on.

Usually I wouldn't suggest

taking a project like this,

but when you get the opportunity

to work with someone like Ryan

on any level, you take it.

You come down here

and hide a lot, don't you?

-I do.

-[all chuckling]

[Nick] Ryan is one of my bigger clients,

and he has a very substantial collection.

And normally he only trusts

a few select shops to do any work for him.

So as small as this project is,

this could be huge for us.

Especially if I can get him to commit

to a car build down the road.

[Shawn] So, Ryan,

what are you exactly looking for?

Well, everybody has a big screen TV

and the store-bought things.

I don't want that.

I want a couple of custom pieces

made just for me that nobody else has.

So it sounds pretty much

like you're giving me

almost free reign to do whatever we want

as long as it's got some class

and makes the place

look better, not worse.

I would really like

to keep all this about 25,000.

[Nick] So $25,000 seems like a fair deal.

But how about this? I know you want

a custom car down the line.

What if we can do a handshake deal

that you'll come to us for the custom car

later this year, next year,

and do this for 25,000? How about that?

I think if you could really blow

my mind with this,

then I'd agree to that.

-Yeah?

-I like the sound of that.

-But you better blow my mind in here.

-Yeah, that's what we plan to do.

-Thank you.

-All right, cool deal.

I feel really good about this deal.

I mean, we're getting 25 grand

for building a few pieces of furniture.

And, really, what we're just doing

is showing this guy what we're capable of.

It's something that's

a little bit different for us,

but if we're gonna do it,

we need to do it right.

I wanna do super creative pieces,

but I also wanna show him

that we work very quickly too.

So we'll get out of your hair,

and we'll start brainstorming.

And you and I, we'll have to hit

the antique stores on the way home.

Mark's already got this done in his mind.

-[Jake] Oh, look at this!

-[Caveman] What we got?

We got some scrap metal.

Don't tell me

we're turning this into a full car.

[Mark] Nope. There's not enough there

to even start with.

But it's all there for what we'll do,

but I'll explain that in a minute.

-Let's just get the stuff off the trailer.

-Dude, 15 cents?

-[Jake] That's good. Let's have a soda.

-[Caveman] Right?

On the way back from Ryan's yesterday,

Shawn and I stopped off

at a few of his secret spots

and brought back some junkyard gold.

Think we're gonna find

some nice stuff today.

[Mark] We got car parts that we can turn

into some furniture pieces,

and we also scored on

a 1950s soda-dispensing machine.

So, while Brian and Constance

move the Tesla forward,

I'm gonna get Tony, Jake, and Caveman

lined out on this man cave project.

[Tony] So what are we doing

with all this stuff here?

Instead of building a car for a guy,

Nick's got a client,

and he wants us to deck out his man cave

with some badass Gotham Garage furniture.

-What are we, Ikea?

-That's exactly what I said to Shawn.

I just turned Mark into Martha Stewart.

[chuckling]

What we're going to do is

take that Plymouth a*s in,

and we're gonna make

one of those badass couches out of it.

And then we're gonna take

this Coke machine,

and we're gonna turn it into

a beer vending machine.

-Oh wow.

-That's pretty badass.

[Mark] Ryan wanted stuff

that no one else has,

and I can guarantee

that he's gonna be the only guy around

with a '50s-style beer vending machine.

So you think this thing works?

[chuckling] It absolutely will

when you guys are done with it.

[Mark and Caveman chuckling]

[Mark] First off, Tony, Jake, and Caveman

are gonna need to tear

this Coke machine apart

and get those

old gizmos and gadgets turning again.

They'll also need to retrofit

the metal sleeves on the inside

to dispense Mother Nature's

sweetest nectar, frosty cold beer.

From there, they'll move on

to the Plymouth back end

and reinforce the inside to turn it into

an ultra-custom, hot rod-inspired couch.

They'll finish them both off

with a ton of precision metal work

and some silky smooth paint

that will make these pieces

truly one-of-a-kind works of art.

Now, here's the deal with this project.

I really wanna show this guy

that we can work fast,

but with everything that's going on

with that Tesla,

I need to dedicate all my time

to getting that car completed

with Brian and Constance.

So, Tony, I need you to step up

and take this project

from start to finish.

All right.

Even though it's a couch,

and even though it's a vending machine,

it's gotta have the same quality

as when we build a car.

So every inch of it's gotta be perfect

'cause, really, what we wanna do

is impress him so much

that we guarantee

getting that other big build.

So I think the first thing you need to do

is get this thing up and running

and then figurin' out

how to make it dispense beer bottles.

-Should I get some beer for the dispenser?

-No.

[all chuckling]

I've obviously managed builds here before,

but even though this is a small project,

it seems like it has

a little bit more significance.

[Jake] That's probably the mech

that turns the belt, I would imagine.

[Tony] Should be, but it's not.

I don't know why this thing's not turning.

There's no beers in it.

[chuckles]

With these pieces, we're trying to make

a big first impression

with one of Nick's high-profile clients,

and it sounds like

it could potentially lead us

to a pretty lucrative relationship

with this guy.

-Know how to work on these, Caveman?

-A little bit here and there.

[Tony] So I definitely wanna

step up on this one

and show Mark and everybody else

that I'm up for this task.

I think I found the problem.

Just push this [grunts] tooth in.

Oh, look at that. Oh yeah. Look and see.

-It's working?

-[Caveman] Look.

-[Jake] Good job, Caveman.

-[Tony] Look at you. You're a genius.

All right, this is good.

So the gears are turning.

But the real challenge here, guys,

is gonna be to get these canisters

to fit our beer bottles.

It looks like this thing is set up

for those super thin soda bottles

from back in the day.

I can tell you right now,

it's not gonna fit a beer bottle.

[exciting surfer rock music playing]

How do we feel about this angle?

-It's pretty flat, actually. It's not

-Yeah?

[Mark] You look a little stymied

under this car.

So I know it's a little unorthodox,

but we have to put the driveshaft

-Inside. [chuckles]

-inside a car. Should work, right?

It's gonna make the interior

very interesting.

[Mark] All that

is gonna have to be modified.

Even though this Tesla deal fell through

and our short timeline no longer exists,

I still wanna finish this car

as soon as possible.

Then it's ready to be sold

the second Shawn lines up a buyer.

[engine revving]

We've obviously got

the motor firing already

and all of the Tesla electronics working.

[Tony] Oh damn. That worked. It's on.

[Mark] So the next step

is to put this car in motion.

In order to do that, we have to install

a custom two-piece driveshaft

to get this car driving on the street.

So let's go ahead and drop this car down.

You and I will get in it

with the driveshaft,

then you give us a free ride to the top.

You don't want to try and climb in?

No, I don't really wanna

-I'll take the free ride on the button.

-[chuckles]

[Constance] The big issue

that we're up against here is that

this Tesla was never intended

to have any of this stuff,

including this driveshaft.

Please keep your hands and arms

inside the vehicle at all times.

[whirs]

Now that this car is set up

with a hot rod motor and transmission,

the driveshaft allows us to transfer

the power from the motor

and transmission to the rear tires.

So when you hit the gas pedal,

that driveshaft

is gonna start spinning super fast.

[Mark] More, more. Okay, good.

[Constance] If any of our alignment is off

in our custom setup,

that drive shaft could just break loose.

[Mark] Ooh.

And that could cause

major damage to this car.

Gonna have to do

a little spacer-wacer right there, man.

-[Brian groans]

-[Mark] 'Cause it's hitting the floor.

[Constance] This isn't a situation

where you just cross your fingers

and hope that it works.

It's triple and quadruple check everything

to make sure it's foolproof.

[Brian] Okay, Constance, bolt it.

[whirring, rattling]

[Brian] You're good.

[Mark] All right. Spin it. Good?

-Yep, we're good.

-All right.

[exciting rock music playing]

Bring us down to Earth, please.

[whirring]

-Ow.

-[Brian grunts]

-[Brian laughs]

-[Mark] The drive shaft's in. We're good.

But before I take it out on the street,

we need to put a wrench

on every nut and bolt in this drivetrain

to make sure that it's safe,

so I can get it out there.

All right.

Then we hopefully will be able to fire

this up and drive it out of the building.

Let's handle that tomorrow,

and then we'll see if it all works.

Yes. Does that mean I get to drive it?

Uh, let me think about it. Uh, no.

[Constance] Nice try, Brian.

You're new here. You'll learn.

And it looks like

we have a little room in the hinge.

I really don't wanna get

into re-making all these pieces.

-There's a lot going on here.

Thanks to Caveman, we have the gears

in the vending machine turning.

I think I found the problem.

Just Look at that.

[Jake] Good job, Caveman.

[Tony] So now,

we need to come up with a way

to get these beer bottles to fit

inside the canisters.

You ever use those exhaust flaring tools?

[Jake] Yeah, opens up

and stretches the tube?

You think that might

stretch these out a little bit?

It's definitely worth a shot.

Let's give one a try

and see where it gets us.

[Tony] Let's do it.

An exhaust flaring tool

is used to expand your exhaust pipe,

and by coincidence,

it fits perfect in these canisters.

So just drop it all the way in,

start it at the bottom?

[Tony] Yeah, let's go to right here.

To really impress Nick's client,

Mark wants to show him

that we work super quick around here.

So I'm hoping that this exhaust tool

is a nice little shortcut

to help us get this beer machine

fully functional.

-[Jake] Would you look at that?

-[chuckling] Oh man.

Now we just gotta do it 51 more times.

-Yeah.

-[both chuckling]

-[tool clicking]

-[upbeat music playing]

Checking 'em off.

It's working out pretty good.

All right, let's get it all back together

and see if it works.

Dope. Let's do it.

[Tony] So you got the gear

[Caveman] Ooh!

By the hair of my chinny chin chin.

Huh.

There ain't no way, Tony.

The mech ain't gonna turn that.

[Tony] Yeah, the belt's too tight now.

It's never gonna fit over those rollers.

[tense music playing]

[Tony] Oh crap.

So, uh

Maybe we can move the location

of where these roller wheels are.

We just have to move 'em up, relocate 'em.

That might actually work.

-It's a start anyway.

-Yeah.

[upbeat hip-hop music playing]

The entire machine

is designed to fit a certain size belt,

and by expanding the canisters,

we actually changed the size of the belt.

So now we have to adjust

the rollers to sit higher,

and then we should be able

to get the belt to fit over the rollers.

-That looks pretty good.

-[Tony] I think so.

-[Jake] Wanna tack it?

-Yeah.

It's kinda like

when you had too many beers

and your size 32 belt doesn't fit anymore.

What do you do?

You go grab a nail and a hammer

and you pop a new hole in that belt.

And that's what we have to do.

[Caveman] Oh, look at that.

You got plenty of adjustment now.

Sure, I was being kind to myself

with a 32 on the belt,

but a gentleman never reveals

his belt size.

[chuckling]

Moment of truth.

We'll see how good our measurements are.

Right! Look at that.

[Jake] Fingers crossed.

-[Jake] Oh, that is super sweet.

-[Caveman] Tight?

[Tony] I think it's working.

So now that this is working,

we can start getting it ready for paint.

But in the meantime,

we gotta jump on that couch

because we've got a whole couch to build.

-You really want me to jump on it?

-You could be the tester.

-[Caveman] I'm always the tester.

I got a Tesla Model S

with a gas-powered motor.

I figured something like that is

[man] Ooh, you know, um,

I've been trying my best

at wrangling up a buyer for this Tesla,

but I am striking out at every turn.

Trying to find a buyer for this Tesla,

it's been challenging to say the least.

I can imagine.

Which is, um, why I wanted to talk to you.

Do you know anybody,

I mean, like, anybody,

that would be

remotely interested in this Tesla?

[chuckles dryly] No one jumps to mind.

Selling these over-the-top niche cars

is definitely not my forte.

But sitting on a project like this Tesla

that has all the money

and the resources invested,

that can be crippling

for a small garage like Gotham.

I wouldn't ask you if I wasn't desperate.

-No, I know.

-And I'm just grasping at straws here.

[Nick] I have a lot riding

on this partnership.

I put all my other business on hold

to make this work.

And as long as this Tesla

is an albatross around our necks,

it's gonna affect our ability

to take on high-end projects.

They're looking for something

a bit more unique,

something more of an art piece.

[chuckling] I'm not sure

it's gonna be a Tesla with a 383,

but it gives me the opportunity

I wanna get past this Tesla

as much as everybody else,

[Mark] Well, now that

we've got the driveshaft in all the way,

let's, uh, get everything else

kinda cleaned up and buttoned up

so we can go take it for a test-drive.

[exciting rock music playing]

Now that we have

this driveshaft installed,

right now we're giving it the once-over.

We're tying up all the loose ends

so we can go test this car

out on the street.

At first glance,

it all seems like this will work,

but remember, this is an untested system.

So if anything is off,

and I mean anything,

when this driveshaft

starts turning at speed,

if it starts to wobble,

the failure would be catastrophic.

[Brian] It smells good.

[Constance] I mean,

it doesn't smell like a Tesla,

if that's what you're wondering.

[both chuckling]

Not only will it tear up

the whole drivetrain that we've created,

but we'd also have to come up with

a totally new solution

to make this car drivable.

So we need to put this car

out on the street

and make sure

that this whole setup is solid.

All righty, you guys ready for this?

[rumbling smoothly]

[Constance] Okay. So far, so good.

[Brian] Hell yeah!

[chuckling] That thing looks tight.

[Mark] It seems like

it's holding up pretty well.

Okay, I'm going to hammer on it

and see if it holds up.

Ah, that was so cool!

[Mark] Hearing this car rumble and shake

under its own power is totally surreal.

And surprisingly enough,

it's a very smooth ride.

No different than your typical hot rod.

-Yeah!

-[sighs in relief]

[Mark] Now that it's running and driving,

we can move on

to the fabrication part of this project

and get this car

that much closer to the finish line.

[chuckles]

-It drove.

-Man. Pretty badass.

And it sounds awesome, but, whoo, man

-[Brian] Awesome.

-The exhaust is going through the floor.

Well, let's get some, uh, sheet metal

and get started on fabricating

a center console and fender flares,

and get the exhaust run on it,

and get her done and get her out of here.

[Brian] That's what I'm talking about!

Now that we've got

our vending machine fully functional,

it's time to put the couch together.

-Cool.

-Party time in the man cave.

[Jake] The last piece

Mark wanted us to build for the man cave

is a super custom couch,

and it really needs to look like

an art piece.

-I'm gonna go polish these up.

-All right.

So over the years

of me being a fabricator,

I've done quite a few

custom furniture pieces,

and when it comes to furniture

and automotive stuff,

they're very comparable.

Oh, that looks good. Really good.

But at the same time, the car moves.

There's many different angles to look at.

A piece of furniture

is just sitting in the corner.

[Tony] Like a glove.

[Jake] So it does take

a lot of time and effort

to make that stand out

just as much as a car

that has all these

moving parts and pieces.

-Oh, that's actually fitting pretty good.

-Yeah, man. I think we're really close.

I think we need to get

a little bit more reveal of the fin.

-You know, so it can blend.

-[Jake] Cool.

And if the hope is to get a big car build

out of this man cave deal,

we gotta make sure

we build everything out perfect.

-It's gonna be under a microscope.

-Caveman. How's this looking?

It's looking like it's about ready

to get primed and painted.

Well, Jake's done.

Let's give these things a last wipe down,

and we'll get 'em all primed and painted.

-Let's do it.

To finish off these custom pieces,

we wanna give each of 'em

a really k*ller paint job.

And since it's hot rod-inspired,

we want this paint to feel like

it's show quality.

So we're gonna go with

a black and white theme all around.

And Jake's even gonna do

some really slick custom pinstriping,

just like you would see on a badass car.

All right, the paint looks really slick.

Yeah, it polished out really well.

Thank you.

[Tony] Now let's work on the upholstery

and get these things finished up.

Obviously, this isn't the biggest,

most prestigious project

that we've done here,

but Mark allowed me to take the reins,

and with Caveman and Jake's help,

I think we put together

some pretty awesome-looking pieces

for this client's man cave.

And with these final touches,

all the intricate upholstery,

all the tiny details,

I think we're showing off

some really high-quality work.

Hopefully, I stepped it up enough

and came through for Mark

and everyone else in the shop.

And hopefully, this is the kind of work

that will get Nick's client to commit

to another project with us.

[music fades]

So, we took this 1950s soda pop machine,

and we converted it

into a one-of-a-kind beer dispenser.

That is cool.

That's exactly what I was looking for.

Whoa!

So this whole belt drive mechanism

is pretty crazy how it works.

Best part is, it was built in the '50s.

Everything was mechanical.

So no electronics, there's no computers.

By the time you wear this belt out,

you'll be too old to remember

what was in the fridge.

-[chuckling]

-Or too drunk.

Or too drunk.

Let's go over here and take a look

at this custom couch we built for you.

-So do you wanna give it a test-drive?

I would love to give that a test-drive.

[Nick] Ryan seems to like

what the shop have put together for him,

but building a few furniture pieces

and committing to a whole car build

are obviously two very different things.

Oh yeah, Ryan looks good

in the back of that custom car.

That's great.

It's got a beer holder for you

and a beer holder for your friend.

I know him, and I know him well,

and he's a very discerning collector.

So hopefully this work was enough

to show him what the shop is capable of.

with a few unique pieces

of, uh of sculpture,

think what they can do with a car.

The workmanship

on all these pieces are amazing.

You can tell the time and effort

and the quality that's in these pieces.

That's what we like to hear.

I can't wait to have them do

a future project for me.

is the test-drive.

that we test-drive the beer dispenser.

taking the lead on this project.

When his friends round that corner

down into his man cave bar,

he's gonna be able to say to himself,

"Not only do I have

something you don't have,

I have something you can't have."

But maybe they can have

because if we got our line

of Gotham Garage furniture

I'm just saying.

Little pocket cash on the side never hurt.

and put it in the back of the car

on the seat frame.

We wanna get this car ready

so as soon as Shawn lines up a buyer,

we're good to go.

So now that we have this Tesla

running and driving on the street,

it's time to make it look

as badass as it drives.

So this

That's gonna get a little tack there,

and then there's gonna be a new body line

where this comes around like that.

So we just need to tack this

and then weld that piece to this piece.

-[Brian] Okay.

-We wanna go full hot rod with this Tesla.

So we're gonna add some wild fender flares

on the front and the back.

I want this Tesla to look super aggressive

and worthy of that 383 stroker motor.

Not only are we gonna give it

super wide fender flares,

but I wanna cut

a unique hole in that hood.

I want it to look like

that motor just blew the lid off of it.

This car is a one-of-a-kind.

I mean, it's a freaking gas-powered Tesla,

so it needs to look the part.

because he's probably celebrating

his man cave.

-I think so.

-What's up?

Nick was just telling me that Ryan is

just crazy happy about the man cave.

-[Nick] He is.

-Cool.

-He's having a party Saturday night.

-[Mark laughs] Already?

The reason we called you in here,

we got some good news.

-[Mark] Yeah?

-Nick found a buyer for the Tesla.

Wasn't that your job?

Aren't you supposed to be

the one that's selling the Tesla?

How'd you get roped into doing his job?

I was I was happy to help.

Don't worry about it.

This has not been

an easy task trying to find

a buyer for a gas-powered Tesla.

Couldn't be that hard.

Nick found somebody.

[Nick] It took a few phone calls,

but I found a client

that might be

a little intrigued by the Tesla.

Guy named Joe,

haven't done a great deal of business,

but I've known him a long time.

Uh, he's got a great collection

of exquisite cars,

but he's looking for

something different, unique.

Now look, no one wants to get

their hopes up on this,

but the timing could be perfect.

As far as I understand,

the car's nearly completed,

the team are nearly done,

so if we can get it sold

pretty much straight away,

then that will be a big win for the shop.

-Have you guys talked price at all?

-[Nick] Um

[smacks lips] He's not prepared

to speculate on a number

until he sees the car.

Okay.

It's a unique car, um,

but there are no comps.

He wants to see the finished product.

So, um, I'm taking it,

this is our best option at this time?

This is the only option

we've got right now.

I think we need

to get the guy in front of the car

and let him fall in love with it.

Well, then I guess, unlike Shawn,

I can't pass off my job to somebody else.

I have to go paint the Tesla.

[Shawn chortles] I get where you're going

with that one. Yeah, that's funny.

[smooth electronic music playing]

[engine revs]

[Mark] The way I see it,

this car has split personalities.

It's half American hot rod and half Tesla.

So I wanna give it a two-sided paint job.

On the left, I'm gonna go stark white

to represent

a practical, tech-advanced car.

And on the right,

I'm spraying it deep, deep red

to show off that aggressive side,

that badass monster

with a 383 stroker motor.

[Constance] Caveman,

do you want a soft rag for that?

[Caveman] I was gonna use

paper towels to get the dust off.

[Tony] Going up.

[hydraulics whirring]

I was Okay.

I guess the windows are gonna be last.

Okay.

[exciting music playing]

[Mark] When we agreed

to take on this project,

we had no idea

that it'd turn into such a roller coaster.

We obviously don't know

where things are gonna land

with this buyer that Nick found.

But one thing is for sure,

we built a truly original ride.

The wheels and tires,

the side pipes,

the frickin' insane power plant

that's blasting through the hood.

I cannot wait to see

what this thing feels like

out on the street.

[music fading]

[dramatic rock music building]

[Mark] For better or worse,

we've always been known

as a shop that takes risks.

That's because when we go places

that other shops wouldn't think of

[music stops]

people take notice.

[engine revs]

[tires squeal]

[man exclaims]

[Mark] Everything about this Tesla

screams wicked hot rod.

We started with an older Tesla Model S.

-And then went total Gotham Garage.

-[music stops]

[music resumes intensely]

Every detail is a reflection of this shop.

You can see it coming from a mile away,

and you can hear it

coming from a mile away.

To me, this car is worth

every bit of 90 grand and then some.

[music ends]

This car came out really nice.

Of all the unique cars

that we build around here,

this one really stands out.

-It's out of the box.

-[Mark] Yeah.

And look, literally out of the hood.

As amazing as this car turned out,

we still don't know a ton

about Nick's buyer, Joe.

According to Nick, he's interested

in something totally unique.

There's some serious shock value

going on here.

And, obviously,

this car checks off that box.

[Mark] Yeah, if he wants

a Gotham Garage car,

it doesn't get any more Gotham Garage

than this Tesla.

I hope the shock value on this

impresses Nick's guy

when he comes around that corner.

How can you not dig this car?

Now even though this is Nick's client,

we agreed

that I'm gonna lead the negotiations

since the Tesla was always

my deal from the beginning.

-There he is.

-Excited to see this car.

Yeah, exactly.

Hopefully, he values this car

as much as we do.

-Wow, it is tearing out of the hood.

[Mark] Yeah, it's got a 383 stroker in it.

I love the, uh, mag wheels. Nice piece.

-The pipes.

-[Mark] Yeah. Big side pipe.

Everything I own has to have a side pipe.

-[Shawn chuckles]

-Look at that.

Tried to make a hot rod out of it.

-This is actually where the fuel goes.

-[Mark] That is where the fuel goes.

It's got everything that the Tesla

already had baked into the inside,

but you get all the American muscle

on the outside.

-[Joe] Can you fire it up?

-Oh yeah.

[Shawn] Can we fire it up?

Am I gonna need earplugs?

You'll need 'em.

The neighborhood'll need 'em.

[engine revving loudly]

[mouthing] Wow.

[engine turns off]

-[Mark] Gotta love that, don't ya?

-[Joe] Wow.

Oh, you've outdone yourself on this one.

-What a piece of work. Gorgeous.

-[Mark] Thank you, man.

How good is this gonna look?

The Goldwing there, the Ferrari there

-I want this in my office.

-[laughs]

I think this would be a great centerpiece

for everybody to walk by and check out.

This is an amazing car.

Well, I gotta ask the big question.

What do you gentlemen want for this?

We feel a very fair value is 125 grand.

My value is, uh, not gonna be

right at that number.

I'm really comfortable

at about $65,000 cash.

Mm. Wow.

[tense music playing]

[Shawn] This is the big elephant

in the room when it comes to this car.

It's so unique

that there's no monetary comp for it.

So it's worth

what someone's willing to pay for it.

Plain and simple.

There is a lot going on here,

and for 65 grand, I mean,

you know what it takes

to build something like this.

But Mark's bottom line on the car is 90k.

In his mind, that's the only way

we make enough profit

to pay out eight people

and make ourselves whole on the car.

[Joe] For my needs

and for what I'm gonna use it for,

this is gonna be a centerpiece

that I'm not really gonna use,

other than the fact

that it's just beautiful.

[Shawn] If we can't make a deal right now

or find some sort of compromise,

this car goes back into storage

with no other legitimate buyers

on the horizon.
