Previously on Luscinia...
We leave Tehran with the six-fingered
inspector for the house of Khoshnevis.
Khoshnevis gets imprisoned.
Our land is dejected with a hopeless
army and occupied by strangers.
And this knotty problem
could hardly be untangled.
Khoshnevis is not always silver-tongued.
He opens his mouth and reveals how
he met Abolfath, the bookbinder.
Abolfath was one of the founders
of the punishment society.
He persuades Reza, the rifleman to
work for the secret society and finally...
The detective lays traps for the
prey here and there.
However, the prey was a skillful hunter
familiar with traps and hunting.
Reza pulls the trigger and fired his g*n.
Matin al-Saltaneh is k*lled.
The secret society of
punishment is given away and...
the government's position is announced.
Luscinia's assassination plan is made.
It is dark, reveal the secret even
to the police, intoxicated.
A big mouth is shut by a punch.
Shabun is arrested by the police.
Luscinia's knowledge of the secret
society causes Abolfath to fail...
and makes Reza shelterless.
Restless and fed up,
Shabun breaks the rotten rope
of the police.
The detective is finally k*lled and
relieved of duty by a crazy man.
A big mistake was made by me
and Musa seeing me off.
Unintentionally Musa led Shabun to the
caravanserai for bidding farewell to me.
Right on.
Come on.
Out of the way.
Move.
Out of the way.
Where did he go?
Don't let him run away.
Where did he go?
I don't know.
Down the well.
Like I let you run away.
Hey Reza!
Where the hell are you, idiot?
Down the well?
I can smell human being in this well.
Human being?
I'll find you even if you hide
down that well.
Show up if you're man enough
and I will cut you into pieces.
I burned your house down and threw
your stuff in front of vagabonds.
Dirty stinky stuff!
Fleas, ticks and worms are all
over the area.
I even broke the mirror of your
mother's wedding.
Come on!
Go get the broken pieces.
Shabun, here I am, down the well.
A lot is going on here.
The secret society is holding a meeting in
Luscinia's presence.
Come and get your mandate. Shabun, the bone
collector is greatly missed here.
Luscinia has ordered well-sinkers
to make a tunnel...
to Kolah Farangi Pavilion from here.
You can enter from the open hole.
Come on.
- Get down.
- Okay boss.
You next.
- Don't make noise.
Go down.
[Speaking Turkish]
With a new trick, I got Shabun, that stupid
creature down the well...
and was headed to Imam Reza's home
together with Chavosh's caravan.
The period between the day I took shelter
in the holy place and the day...
I entered Jalal al-Molk's house,
is a book of forgotten memories.
I said enough about before and
after of it.
I must frankly confess to two murders.
And Matin al-Saltaneh.
You are free to go.
It was indeed a strange story.
Nobody knows anything about it.
You were actually under arrest
for swindling a wealthy person.
However, this bag was all
we got in the end.
Do you have any idea what a
precious thing there is in this bag?
Enough to keep my mouth shut
and satisfy my boss's greed?
By selling a few of these calligraphy works,
you will get much more than you wanted.
No doubt about it.
I shall take you to the city.
I no longer desire to go back
to that house.
Now I wish to be a rifleman again,
and not a calligrapher.
I would choose the stupidity of my
youth over the dignity of my age.
I do not want my clothes back.
Will you lend me some outfits?
I would like to change my appearance from a
calligrapher to a rifleman again.
- Will you take me to a barbershop?
- Of course. Why not?
I have an unfinished business to
take care of. Help me.
You will make a fortune.
Abolfath knows who Luscinia is.
He has the secret notebook
if we can find him.
Abolfath knows whom Reza
was supposed to assassin.
- Thank you.
- You're welcome.
At your service sir.
Please go ahead.
Can I be of help?
Master Khoshnevis is one of the
unique artists of this time.
- Is he into music or cinema?
- No sir.
I am only a nameless calligrapher.
He is too kind.
Give him a suitable room.
The rooms on the street's side are
full of noise but the view is great.
I have lived in quiet places for years.
I would choose noisy places
over quiet ones.
May I ask for how long he is
going to stay?
It depends on the attractions in Tehran
and your hospitality in the hotel.
- Dial the same number please.
- Right away.
- I shall use the other phone.
- Please go ahead.
Mr. Inspector is on the line.
Hello? Please hold.
Lalezar Street is worth seeing
these days.
You can watch grand parades
from the hotel all day long.
You can see world military leaders next to
European like Iranians...
who have brightened up the city.
You mean the capital city is
brightened up while it is occupied?
In my opinion, the presence of foreign
forces in Iran in a blessing in disguise...
which will affect our people's
social lives.
Europeanization of Iran was not possible
except through social meetings.
For the reason that most of our people
cannot afford to travel abroad.
I have heard there is not
enough foodstuff for people.
Foreigners do not treat people properly.
Our people are having hard times.
Our people have always had hard times.
For distinguished members of the society
like you, there is no reason for concern.
Foreigners appreciate artists
more than us.
That is why they have more
artists compared to us.
In any case, I'd rather not stay in
a room with a view of foreigners.
These are aggressors and not guests.
You artists are just too sensitive.
Of course politicians have
a different opinion.
As the prime minister says; They
come and go without harming us.
- I'm glad I'm not a politician.
- My wish is your command.
Please get some rest.
The suitcase.
Do not forget a jug of water
and an ashtray.
Guests should feel more comfortable at
guesthouses compared to their own homes.
I'm at your service sir.
Hey boy.
- The suitcase.
- Wait.
This suitcase it too heavy for this
young man to carry.
I appreciate your kindness. But your
generosity will not change anything.
In all hotels around the world,
youngsters serve as hotel staff.
However, the main jobs are
done by the others.
- Hello.
- Carry the suitcase.
Sure.
Please have a cup of tea or
something until the room is ready.
Yes.
Please go ahead.
Yes, yes.
We have our lost one.
- Thank you.
- You are welcome.
The room is ready.
Please go ahead.
I just talked to the person in charge.
His patience has run out.
He hardly gave us until tonight.
Do it after the restaurant is closed
and everybody is gone.
- You will not leave the hotel, will you?
- No. I have nowhere else to go.
We have to play safe until the end.
These days they suspect everyone to
find the German Fifth Column.
Tehran, I am back.
Tehran, the occupied city.
My motherland, I am back.
Who concealed you in this
obscene appearance?
The old man is back.
Not for the sake of my ego
but for taking revenge.
- Hello sir.
- Hello.
- Hello.
- Hello. Go ahead.
After you.
- Hello sir.
- Hello.
Please go ahead.
At your service.
- Hello.
- Hello.
Have a seat.
You haven't had lunch, have you?
No.
Bread and yogurt please.
I have wished to meet you for years.
A man who had hidden his
treasure from me.
Today, I am here at will to
sell my artworks to you.
Let us eat first.
Exciting news give me
a good appetite.
Thanks.
Thank you very much.
Enough.
Watermelon!
Watermelon for sale!
Watermelon.
- It was very nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you too.
- See you later.
- Goodbye.
Artworks remain priceless at all times
no matter how generous we are.
Your humbleness always
overcomes our wealth.
Ask for more.
I will not hesitate if you ask for more.
Artists cannot put prices on
their artworks.
Curtesy takes priority over generosity
when it comes to selling artworks.
You make a fortune only when you sell
your work of art with all your heart.
Otherwise, what you get is
nothing but blood-money.
More or less of it, doesn't really
make a difference.
Bravo.
This amount of money can easily
solve my problem.
We have actually decided to add to your
problems by ordering something new.
- Keep an eye on the car.
- Yes sir.
Don't take your eyes off it.
Hello sir.
No worries.
There is no answer.
- He has not left the hotel, has he?
- Definitely not.
There he comes.
- Hello.
I would like to have a word with
Master in the other hall.
Go ahead.
The hall is all yours.
- Would you like anything to drink?
- No, thanks you. It will not take long.
Please go ahead.
Over there.
You kept your word.
Now it is time for me to keep my promise.
Now I shall put your skilful
hand in your wife's.
The car is in front of the door.
I will drive you home safe and sound.
We shall settle accounts and
get your stuff later.
I do not tend to leave the hotel now.
Then I shall come back
tomorrow morning.
Staying at a four-star
hotel is a big deal...
specially for a person like you who
has had hard times in that stable.
I am determined to stay.
I do not tend to go home.
Are you done with me?
Yes. And I would like for you
to forgive me.
I am totally pleased.
And I am not holding a grudge against
You woke me up to reality.
You opened the eyes of an old man.
You made a broken-hearted man hopeful.
Now it is my own choice to be
a calligrapher or a rifleman.
I am back to 30 years ago with an unknown
ending, maybe no ending at all.
I actually benefited from the hard
times you gave me.
- Can you afford the hotel costs?
- I will start working.
At your service sir.
At your service.
Quick.
Go ahead.
Thank you.
Any other orders sir?
Get your cigarettes out of here.
Stop.
Keep going.
- Who was I supposed to send away?
- The cigarette seller.
Hello sir.
Please read it.
What part?
Keep coming.
Enough.

The story is split into two different timelines. The events of World w*r II and Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran is where the main narrative takes place, but a great deal of the story is told through flashbacks to the last days of Qajar dynasty by Reza Khoshnevis.
