02x07 - k*ller Croquet

Post by bunniefuu »

[dramatic music playing]

[Peter] Previously
on Million Dollar Secret.

We're the millionaire, baby.

[Peter] If you survive the vote
at the elimination dinner,

you will receive
a double-barrel k*ll shot.

[Nick] At this point, if I need to pin it
on anybody, it's gotta be Kat.

I do remember high-fiving Kat
like ten times.

-You failed to find the millionaire.
-No.

[Peter] Which means their reward,
the double-barrel k*ll shot,

has been unlocked.

[dramatic sting]

-Kasey.
-[Kasey gasps]

[Peter] Melissa.

[Nick] It's kind of eat or be eaten.

[Umeko] Oh.

"You have been selected to receive
a secret agenda of your own."

"If you succeed,
you will become the new millionaire."

"But the current millionaire must also
survive the elimination dinner."

[Kaleb] There's a paper clip on my sleeve.

Did you do that?

Jersey Nick, you just got busted.

[Umeko] I need to figure out
a way to keep Nick here.

A woman needs to win this.
I think we need to vote out Hunter.

[Peter] I will now reveal
who you voted for.

[dramatic sting]

Hunter.

There was a second agenda.

That guest is the new millionaire.

Oh my dear Jebus.

Which one of you stole my damn money?

-[Kat] Oh my God!
-[all screaming]

So who's got the money?

I am suspicious of Umeko.

You gotta be careful.
I'm trying to ride with you to the end.

[Kat] Nick and Umeko
are protecting each other.

You've chosen Umeko as the millionaire.

[all gasp]

[Kat] Oh my God!

[Peter] Right now, a brand-new millionaire
is being randomly assigned.

We're entering the final stages
of the game.

Whoever secures the money now
has a strong chance

of making it to the end.

[music ends]

[birds chirping]

[ominous music playing]

[Kevin sighs]

[Kevin] One of us is about to be
the new millionaire,

and I absolutely…
I want the money right now.

[Kevin exhales heavily]

That is life-changing money.

And I am trying to provide freedom
for my family.

[kisses]

What?

[dramatic music playing]

What am I going to do?

[sighs]

[inhales and exhales sharply]

Damn it.

[chuckling] I'm kinda nervous.

No money.

[Lauren G. sighs] Okay.

[exhales heavily]

sh**t.

[suspenseful music playing]

[Daisy exhales heavily]

Hello, old friend.

[Daisy exhales heavily]

[somber music playing]

[Kaleb chuckling]

I got exactly what I wanted.

[epic music playing]

I'm coming into this with some experience.

There were several mistakes that I made

the first time I was the millionaire.

But I've learned a lot,
and that makes me pretty dangerous.

I am confident that I can pack my bags
and go home with it.

[intercom chimes]

[Peter] Hello, new millionaire.

Please meet me in my study.
Your secret agenda is waiting.

[epic music continues]

[Kaleb] I have solidified the foundation
as that trustworthy guy.

Now it's time for me to use it.

They are not going to know
that I am using them.

I am ready to lie, cheat,
and steal my way to the end.

I am ready to go.

[theme music playing]

[clinking]

[music ends]

[Peter] Well, look who it is again.

-Nice to see you.
-Nice to see you too. How are you doing?

-I'm doing well.
-Yeah.

How does it feel to be here again, Kaleb?

I've got the money,
and I've got it exactly when I want it.

You think you're gonna keep it to the end?

I'm going to take it home with me.

[somber music playing]

[Kaleb] This money means
everything to my family.

I live in an old farmhouse
built in the '60s

by my grandparents
with no central heat and air.

I live on a farm that 100 years
of my family have worked hard

to just keep it going year after year.

Myself and my wife and kids,

we didn't get to do it
with a lot of money,

and that is something that I owe them

for the sacrifices that they made.

[Peter] Wow.

You know, these could be
the most important days of your life.

I have a secret agenda to share with you.

Okay.

If you succeed and survive the vote,

you will earn a k*ll shot to use
at our next elimination dinner,

and two people will go home,

one from the group vote
and another guest of your choosing.

If you fail or don't attempt it at all,

you'll have two votes against you
at the elimination dinner.

Okay.

-You ready?
-I'm ready.

You must high-five two guests
in the estate…

[Kaleb chuckles]

…and miss.

[dramatic sting]

[tense music playing]

[Peter] There's nothing more awkward
than a failed high five.

You must complete this agenda
by the end of the activity,

which is only a few hours from now.

So the pressure's on.

Should we practice one?

-Sure.
-Up high.

Down low.

Too slow.

People are on the lookout
for anything right now.

And Kat was the high-five queen.

I do remember high-fiving Kat
like ten times.

I don't know if the agenda was completed,
but that's what I thought of.

So everybody is very aware of high-fives,

but with so few people remaining,
it's a risk worth taking.

The k*ll shot is huge.
I've got to complete this agenda,

I've got to be under the radar,
and I've got to make it believable.

[music ends]

[door shuts]

[harp glissando plays on intercom]

[intercom chimes]

[Peter] Hello, guests.
Our new millionaire has been chosen.

If they complete their secret agenda,
they gain a k*ll shot,

one they'll use
if you vote out the wrong person

at the elimination dinner.

Make the wrong move,
and two people go home instead of one.

It's k*ll or be k*lled.

[Kat sighs]

[Peter] Good luck.

[door closes]

[tense music playing]

[Kevin] It's like a day, guys. [chuckles]

-[Nick] Picnic party.
-[Kaleb] Picnic. Yeah.

-[Kevin] Dude, look at this little bit.
-[Kaleb] Oh, wow.

[liquid pouring]

[Kevin] Oy.

-[Nick] You guys rich yet or what?
-[Kevin scoffs]

Negatory, sir.

-[Nick] Really?
-[Kevin] Yes.

-[Daisy] Hi.
-[Nick] What's up?

[Kevin] Join the party.

[Kat] Oh my God, a picnic.

[Lauren G.] God, I love a Ruffle.

[Kat] It is super important
to find the millionaire

because there is so little time left.

We are at the point of the game
where I will turn on anyone if I have to.

There is no alliances anymore.
There's fake alliances.

There's "I got your back,"

and then there's "Turn around
and I'll stab you with a big-a*s knife."

-Where am I going?
-[Kat] How was everybody's box?

Someone's rich,
and the rest of us are not.

-[Daisy] Yeah.
-Nothing in mine.

-[Daisy] Nothing in mine.
-[Lauren G.] Nothing in mine.

[Daisy] New millionaire, new hunt.

[Nick] Someone's lying right to our faces.

[tense music continues]

[Daisy] Moving forward,
I am going to watch people like a hawk.

This mama is coming out
hot as freaking nails.

We all know each other well enough now
that I would know

if anybody's demeanor changed.

My eyes are not
going to leave anybody now.

[Lauren G.] I don't know
what to do with myself now.

-[Daisy] I know.
-You know?

[Daisy] It's really scary.

[Lauren G.] It's scary, and it's awkward.

I'm scared to even rub my nose now,
you know?

-[Kaleb] I know.
-[all chuckle]

I just got strangled on my tea
and tried not to cough.

-See? It's that kind of stuff now.
-[Kaleb] I mean…

[Kaleb] It's… It's ridiculous.

It's just gonna be hard
now that there's so few of us.

-I know. It's…
-[Lauren G.] It's hard to hide.

[Kaleb] Everyone is on high alert.

My plan for doing this agenda

is a little bit different
than the past plans that I had.

When I had to follow Kevin,
I wanted to start quickly.

I… I… I need to be near you.

This is making me super sus of you.

-[Kaleb] I… I get it. I get it.
-Let me go have a conversation.

[Kaleb] In this case,
I need to be patient.

So I think I'm gonna wait for the activity
on this one

to see what opportunities
present themselves.

But time is ticking.

[Lauren G.] Hm.

[harp glissando plays on intercom]

[intercom chimes]

[Peter] Guests, please dress to impress,

and then join me on the lower lawn
for your next activity.

-[Nick] All right.
-[Kat] I hope it's golf.

[Nick] Y'all look out for agendas.

[Daisy blows raspberries]

[tense music playing]

We're going into the activity,
and everybody is looking amazing.

Not a lot of people know this,

but my wife and I owned
a women's clothing store,

and I absolutely love fashion.

So I am digging this fit.

But I am also fricking nervous.

I've got to complete
this crazy high five agenda

before the activity ends.

[music ends]

[Peter] Greetings and salutations.

Welcome to your guest activity,
k*ller Croquet.

[Kat chuckles]

Ah, to be out on the lawn,
the crack of the mallet,

the sound of the Pimm's hitting the ice…
Nothing reminds me more of Daddy.

[Daisy chuckles]

[Peter] Croquet may seem like
a leisurely backyard pastime,

but it's actually a game of strategy,
precision, and tactical thinking,

the same skills needed
to catch a millionaire.

Here's how our version works.

Each of you will play individually
through three different stages.

In the first stage,

your goal is to hit your ball
through the sequence of arched wickets

in the correct order until you make it
to the first special wicket.

The first four players to hit their ball
through the special wicket

will take a pin
and move on to the next stages.

I will explain rounds two and three
once we get there,

but for now,
just know that only the first two guests

to complete the course
will win access to the Trophy Room.

You each have been randomly assigned
a different colored ball

and the order in which you will play.

So, grab your mallets
and let's play a little croquet, shall we?

Okay, guests,
please take your first positions.

[Kat] Taking my shoes off.

-[Daisy] I am too. Gonna grab my thing.
-Gonna take mine off.

Let me explain the "cool club," okay?

We've got Kaleb, Lauren, me, and Kat.

Those are the people I trust
in this house,

and so that's who we want
at the finish line.

Lauren, you'll be going first
with the blue ball.

-[Kat] All right.
-[Daisy] All right.

[Daisy] We need to keep
Nick and Kevin out of that Trophy Room.

I have never played croquet. I'm nervous.

[Kat] All right, Lauren.
Kick us off, girl.

Yeah!

[Lauren G.] I overshot it.

Now it's Kaleb's turn with the red ball.
Good luck.

[suspenseful music playing]

[Kat] Yeah, Kaleb.

[Peter] Nick with the black ball.

Last night's dinner was… was a tough one.

Me and Umeko were close.

Without her,
I don't really have a core relationship,

so I need to get into that Trophy Room

because the only person
that I trust is me.

[Peter] Kat, go ahead.

[suspenseful music continues]

-[Nick] There you go.
-[Kaleb] Hey.

[Daisy] Here goes nothing.

Unlucky.

[Daisy] Yeah, thanks.

Or terrible, one of the two.

-[Nick] Smart. That's a good hit.
-[Peter] Oh.

[Kat] Good job.

[Peter] All right, Kaleb.

[Kaleb] My strategy
for accomplishing this agenda

is simply to high-five
Lauren, Kat, or Daisy,

except for completely miss.

[Peter] Lauren.

[all] Oh!

[Kat] That was
a good shot, though, Lauren.

[Nick] That was a slam.

[Lauren G.] In my head, it was gonna work.

-[bell dings]
-Oh, that was cold.

He fake high-fived me.

I didn't.

[Lauren G.] Yeah, you held your hand out,
then took it away.

Crap. This is a dangerous situation.

Everybody is watching everybody
and everything that they do.

[Peter] Oh, no.

[Kaleb] Moving forward,
I've gotta do everything in my power

not to look too obvious.

We might have our first wicket here, Kat.

-[bell dinging]
-[all cheering]

-[Peter] Yes!
-[Daisy] Shut up! Shut up!

Whoa, a double wicket!

-[Lauren G.] Double.
-[Nick] Two.

The girls are winning! [laughs]

It's funny because the boys
are trying to catch up to Kat.

[Lauren G.] Don't miss.

[bell dinging]

-[all] Oh.
-[Kevin] Nice.

-[Daisy] I mean, she is kicking butt.
-[bell dings]

[Lauren G.] There you go!

I'm still behind.

-[bell dings]
-[Kat] Yes, Daisy!

[Daisy] But I am very, very happy

that she's doing well.

Now it's Kat.

I trust her.
I need Kat in that Trophy Room.

[Peter] Trying to become the first person
to advance to the next round.

[tense music playing]

-[all cheering]
-[Lauren G.] Yeah!

[Peter] Kat gets the first pin.

-[Daisy] Kat! Whoo!
-[Lauren G.] Yes, babe!

Only three more pins available
for five people.

[tense music continues]

-[Peter] Nice.
-[Kat] Nice shot.

[Peter] Kevin, you get a pin.

Two pins have been collected.
Only two remain.

Kaleb having to backtrack.

-[Kaleb] Oh, you gotta be kidding.
-[Peter] Ooh.

Another mistake.

[Kat] It could be worse.

-[bell dings]
-[box chimes]

[Kaleb] Daisy puts her hand out,
and I took my chance.

Agenda complete.

Now I've got a k*ll shot
if I survive the elimination dinner.

-[Kat] Yeah!
-[Kevin] There you go.

[Peter] Whoa!

Collect a pin. Oh my goodness.

-[Kat] Damn.
-[Daisy] Dang it!

There's only one pin left.
Daisy, your turn.

[tense music continues]

[Kat] Good job, Daisy.

[Peter] Good job, Daisy.

-[Nick clapping] Very nice. Pin. Pin.
-[Peter] There we go. So Daisy wins a pin.

Kaleb, Lauren, I'm sorry,
but you are both eliminated.

[dramatic music playing]

[Daisy] Do you know what you're gonna wear
tomorrow? Because I have ribbons.

I have white, pink, red, and blue.

-Okay.
-So like a navy blue.

-[Kat] Okay.
-[Daisy] You need a ribbon.

[splutters] I'd love one. I don't know
what I'm wearing. I'm out of outfits.

[Kat] We are playing a croquet match
for a million dollars,

and Daisy starts talking to me

about what I'm wearing
to dinner tomorrow night

and all of the ribbon colors

that she brought here
and that she wants to give me.

[Daisy] But yeah, if you wear something
that's pink, white, navy blue, red,

or like a complementary thing,
you have to wear one.

[Kat] That's so nice.

And she says the colors that she brought

not once, but twice,

and light bulbs go off in my head.

That was the millionaire agenda.

[Kat] Ding, ding, ding.

She completed her agenda
saying these colors.

So I need to get into the Trophy Room

to give me the confirmation
that it's Daisy.

[music ends]

All right. Kat, Kevin, Daisy, and Nick,

welcome to stage two of k*ller Croquet.

In this next stage, you must continue
through the series of wickets

until you make it
to the next special wicket.

The first three players
through the special wicket

will move on to the final stage.

But there's a twist.

Each of you will have
a different game-changing power

to hinder an opponent.

You may elect to use this power once

at any point throughout
the rest of the game.

So the question isn't just how to win,

but who you actively want to stop
from reaching the Trophy Room.

[epic music playing]

I have randomly assigned
your game-changing powers.

Nick, you will have the wall.

Kat, you will have mini wickets.

Daisy, you have
the back it up game changer.

And Kevin, the ball blaster.

[Nick] Ball blaster!

-[Kat chuckles]
-As I said, k*ller Croquet.

Okay, let's get ready to play.

-[bell dings]
-[Daisy] Nice.

[bell dinging]

-[Kat] Good shot.
-That was nice.

-Yes! Kat's currently in the lead.
-[Lauren G.] Yes, girl!

-[Peter] Oh.
-[Daisy groans]

This is the most unleisurely game
of croquet in history.

-[tense music playing]
-[Nick groans]

One wrong hit could be
the end of your game

and going into the Trophy Room.

[Peter groans]

Daisy, you're in last place.

[tense music continues]

[bell dings]

Kevin, Nick, and Kat
really pulling ahead here.

Daisy, your turn.

Okay, I think I'm gonna use my back it up.

Daisy's gonna use
her back it up game changer.

This power allows you
to set an opponent back

by moving their ball
to their previous wicket.

Who are you targeting?

I love you, but I'm… I'm gonna see.
I'm not gonna beat you.

-You're still gonna get through.
-[Kevin mumbles]

[Peter] Oh, Kevin.

You have to move your orange ball
back one wicket

and one mallet length away from it.

[suspenseful music playing]

-Why would she target me, not Nick?
-[whispering] I don't know.

[Kevin] Interesting.

[Peter] Nick's trying to grab
that first pin off the next wicket.

-Oh no!
-[Kat groans]

Oh, she's gonna bounce it off his.
That was smart.

[Peter] Kat, please take a pin.

[Daisy] Katty!

-[Lauren G] Yay!
-[all cheering]

[Peter] There are only two pins left
on that wicket.

Nick, Daisy, and Kevin,
it's your job to get one of them.

Kevin's looking to secure the second pin.

And he's through.
Knocked Nick out of the way.

He gets a pin.

One pin left.

It will decide who makes it through
to the final round.

And Nick has a very tricky angle here.

Is Daisy gonna hit that?

[suspenseful music continues]

I think I'm about
to have to wall you here.

-[Kat laughing]
-Oh, Nick!

[Nick] I need this pin.

I'm not gonna be able to hit this
in one shot.

[Peter] Nick has chosen
to use his power against Daisy.

The wall, where you can block
an opponent of your choice.

Place your wall, Nick.

This thing is crazy here.

-[Daisy] I see how it is, Nicholas.
-Jeez.

[Nick] There's only one pin left.

It's gonna be a two-shot
to get my ball through.

Daisy has a tough but makeable shot.

I can't take the risk.

[chuckling] I'm just gonna wall her a*s
so that I can guarantee I get the last pin

and have a shot here.

[Peter] A devastating blow to Daisy.

Daisy, your turn from behind the wall.

You will have to hit around the wall
until you pass through the next wicket.

-Still behind the wall.
-[dramatic sting]

[Peter] Nick for the final pin
on the three-pin wicket.

[whispering] You know you can get us in.

We're gonna use our powers against him
if he gets through,

so we're the two in the Trophy Room?

[Kevin] Okay.

I trust you a lot more than I trust him.

[Kat] I know.

At this point in the game,
the only one I really trust is Kat.

Kaleb's lied to my face.

[Kaleb] I did this for Melissa.

I told her that
I was going to rattle your cage.

[Kevin] Nick's done the same thing.

I swear to God, there's no money in there.

So it's really tough for me to trust
those two fully and wholeheartedly

and along with the girls as well.

So I'm gonna do whatever I have to do
to make sure that the two people

that get into the Trophy Room
are myself and Kat.

[Lauren G. softly] Is there any chance
that they're working together?

Kevin's trying to steal our Kat.

[Daisy] There is an alliance
of four of us.

And now I'm concerned that
Kevin is trying to sway Kat to his side.

He is not good for my game.

[suspenseful music continues]

[bell dings]

Nick wins the final pin.
Daisy, you are eliminated.

[Lauren G.] Oh.

[Peter] Nick, Kat, and Kevin,
we are at our final stage of the game.

Your goal is to pass through
the remaining wickets

and hit the stake
at the end of the course.

Kat and Kevin, remember that
you still have your game-changing powers

and you may use them at any point
since you have not done so already.

In the end,
the first two players to hit the stake

will enter into the Trophy Room.

Kat, you're up.

[Kevin] You're gonna use it on him?

I'll ball blast him
if he ever gets closer than you.

-[Kat] Promise?
-[Kevin] Mm-hmm.

[tense music playing]

Kat is using her game changer
mini wickets.

-She's choosing black, Nick's color…
-[Nick groans]

…which means Nick must play
the mini wickets

instead of the remaining regular wickets.

Kevin agrees to my arrangement, thank God.

And now the two of us
just have to finish this thing up.

Which, me and Kevin getting into
the Trophy Room together

is best-case scenario now.

Of my two options,

I have a way better relationship
with Kevin.

[Lauren G.] They cut a deal.

She made a deal with Kevin.

[Daisy] Come on, Kat.

[bell dings]

[Kat exhales]

[bell dinging]

-[Nick] Oh, chill.
-Nick, catching up.

-[Kat] Oh my God.
-[Peter] Mm.

[Daisy] Come on, Kat.

[tense music continues]

[Kat] Good job, Nick.

[Peter] Even with having to hit
through mini wickets,

Nick has caught up to Kat and Kevin.

All three only have one wicket left
until the final stake.

[bell dings]

-[Kevin] Atta girl.
-[Lauren G.] Nice, baby girl.

[Peter] Next, Kevin.

[bell dings]

[bell dings]

Wow, that was impressive.

[Peter] Nick has done it again.

Only the final stake remains
for all three players.

Pressure's on you guys now
'cause I'm not missing.

[Peter] Kat can send herself
into the Trophy Room right here.

[Nick] A lot on Kat here.

Thanks for reminding me.

[tense music continues]

[Kat groans]

[Lauren G.] This is hard.

Howdy, Peter. I'm gonna use my, uh, power.

[Peter] Okay, the ball blaster,

where you may directly strike
an opponent's ball,

sending it in any direction.

Who would you like to use it on?

[Nick] Come on, dude, we're boys.

I know.

-[Kevin] Nick.
-[dramatic sting]

[Peter] Wow.

Oh.

Dude.

[Nick VO] Kat mini wicketing me.

Kevin ball blasting me across the court.

I literally don't have any true alliances
in this house,

so I need to figure something else out

because I'm probably an easy target
for people to vote home.

[Peter] A trip to the Trophy Room

and a clue about the millionaire
on the line.

[Daisy] Come on, Kat.

[Peter] This is a million-dollar mallet.

-[Kat] Yes!
-[all cheering]

-[Daisy] Kitty!
-[Kevin] Atta girl.

-Kat is through to the Trophy Room.
-[all clapping]

[Kat sighs]

[Peter] It's gonna leave Kevin and Nick
for the final spot.

Kevin, you're up.

[suspenseful music playing]

Thank goodness.

-[Peter] Kevin is through.
-Good job.

[Peter] Nick, you are eliminated
from k*ller Croquet,

but I have to congratulate Kevin and Kat.

[screeching]

Oh my God, I wanna run around the court
with my mallet.

[blowing]

You have gained access to the Trophy Room

where you will receive information
on the millionaire.

There has never been a more valuable time

to win a challenge than right now,
and I did it.

This is my chance to see
if Daisy is the millionaire.

To the rest of you, your loss.

I'll see you at the elimination dinner.
Until then, happy hunting.

[serene music playing]

[bugs chirring]

[Lauren G.] I smell food.

What is for dinner?

[Nick] Stuffed pat. Looks amazing.

-[Kaleb] Yes, it does.
-[Lauren G.] Thank you.

May I have a giant beer?

[all laughing]

[Kaleb] I am feeling scared to death
not going into the Trophy Room.

I'm very worried about what this clue is
and what it might reveal about me

because I have been an open book here.

And if it turns out
that I'm completely wrong

and everything is gonna go smooth,
oh, that would be amazing,

but I've got that ick feeling
in my soul right now

that it's not gonna be that easy.

[Lauren G.] So…

-I didn't see anything today.
-[Daisy] No.

[Lauren G.] I just don't know
what to do now.

I just, like, I'm dying for the clue.

[Daisy] Being in the Trophy Room
is huge right now.

If the wrong person goes in there…

-They could lie and screw us.
-[Kat] We're screwed.

[Kevin] Yeah.

[cutlery scraping plate]

[harp glissando plays on intercom]

[intercom chimes]

[Peter] Guests, will the winners
of today's activity

please meet me in the Trophy Room?

-[Daisy] Good luck.
-Be nice to each other. Be good.

A lot of money's riding on this, you guys.
You know that, right?

[Kevin] Yeah.

[tense music playing]

[sighs] Oh, God. This feels awful.

[Daisy] Nope, I hate it.

[theme music playing]

There is nothing that is going to stop me
from getting that clue from Peter.

At this point in the game,
I don't trust anybody,

and I need confirmation
that Daisy is the millionaire.

Kat, Kevin, welcome to the Trophy Room,

where information will be shared
about the millionaire.

You must discuss and come to an agreement

as to who will come into my study
and receive the clue.

[Kevin] A million dollars is on the line
for me if I do not get that clue.

-Who came up with the fake clue?
-Kevin.

[suspicious music playing]

-He had the clue locked and loaded?
-No. No.

-[Lauren G.] Worked on it together?
-Yes.

He was suspicious of you and Daisy.
I really thought it was Daisy.

So… that is why

the clue was sent
to implicate the two of you.

-So was Nick just collateral damage?
-[Kat] Mm-hmm.

[Nick] Hell of a riddle.

So there was no clue whatsoever.

He said, "There is no clue."

"You have immunity
from the votes tonight."

You don't think coming up with a clue
implicates the people

that came up with the clue?

[Kat] I know it probably
makes me look suspicious,

but I got immunity,

and I didn't know
the right people to tell, so…

Kat is just a silent assassin.

And now, also a suspect.

Boy, this is working out a lot better
than I thought it was going to.

I'm all done. Y'all have a good night.

[Kaleb] Night.

[Kat clears throat]
