It's bright, it's colorful, it's
playful.

It's a bit more character-based,
which they seem to like as well.

I know what it's like to lose
now, and I
also realize how f*cking
embarrassing

it'll be to lose again,
so I've got a beautiful dress.

I'm gonna make it happen.

Do you girls struggle with
people say
they'll see me out of drag
somewhere,

and they'll get disappointed
'cause
they're expecting Art Simone?

Yeah, and then they're always,
like,
"Why aren't you in drag?

-Why aren't you in drag?"
-Oh, my God, that is the worst
thing.

"Aw, why aren't you in drag?
Aw."

Yeah, it makes you feel like
you're not good enough.

Yep, 100%.

See, I get the opposite
experience,

'cause I present femme
in so many social settings,

they just assume I'm in drag
all the time.

People are often like,
"Why aren't you ever out as a
boy?"

Or when I'm out, like,
presenting more
masculine, they're like, "Out of
drag,

you're such a sexy man."

And I'd have to be like,
"Well, I'm not a man."

I use the gender marker
non-binary

because it's the closest
to what describes how I feel.

When I'm in drag,
people are just like

"She/her, that's fine,
we understand what drag is."

But the minute where I start
moving outside of that,

people get really, like,
uncomfortable.

So, it is-- It can get hard.

People like to think of things
as black
and white, but there's so much
gray,

and when people put
gender markers on me,

literally my mind has a reaction
to it,

`cause I just don't
see myself like that.

I've gotten every reaction, from
being
told that I'm, like, I'm faking
it

'cause I'm not transitioning
all the way,

to being told that,
like, it's just a phase.

That I don't understand why
you have to identify as
non-binary.

Like, just make a decision.

I'm sorry that you have to
go through that, Etcetera.

I don't connect with all of my
biological
body, and there was a point in
time

where I thought I was
binary-trans in the sense

that I would transition into
living life
as a "woman".

But that's not something for me
either.

I'm very appreciative in this
competition,
and with all you girls, how
respectful

and patient, and kind
you've been around my gender,

'cause that doesn't often
happen.

I just hate that that's even a
thing
that you have to--

-you feel you have to thank
people for.
-Yeah.

Like, it's not even
a conscious thought to, like,

be like that around you,
you know?

People can be so nasty,
can't they?

I feel like people really look
up to us
as drag queens to stand up for
ourselves

and each other, and say what's
right.

Well, I won't stop until
the bones fall out of my body.

Well, Karen, I think you're

Oh, there's no doubt about it.

And I think there's no doubt
about
the fact that I'm lip syncing
with Anita.

I was really hoping it was gonna

Honestly, looking at your

and, like, looking at my outfit,

I just don't understand how,
like,
you could be safe, but I'm in
the bottom.

They called my outfit
unfinished, but
there's a rip down the back of
your skirt,

just as you were about to go
on the runway.

There's a rip down
the middle of my skirt?

There's a rip down
the back of your skirt.

Thanks for letting me know,
girl.

How can I be in the bottom
this week,

when she's walking around
looking like a f*cking molecule?

It's like she's designed
something
to cause me pain.

I hit every mark on that runway.

-You sold it.
-And, yeah.

I stepped my toy up.

What the actual f*ck?

I'm gonna take it off before it
leaches
bad taste into my brain.

I just felt like they went in
hard on me
because I'm the "fashion queen."

But I thought I was elevating it
by taking it to already quite

a difficult-to-achieve aesthetic
with what's in a f*cking
dumpster.

Etcetera had a full, wee little
tizzy
about being told that it's not,
like,

as what we expected.
I've had that for the last three
weeks.

Shut the f*ck up.

Do you think that, uh, part of
an issue
for you at the moment

is this is your first time
to get any feedback?

I've had three weeks of just
being in the dark,

so I guess I know
what they want now.

And not to carry a f*cking
dreamcatcher.

I'm gonna break that over my
knee
if I have to lip sync.

Talking the talk of being
this fashion queen,

I expected more from Etcetera,
and I think the judges did, too.

Now, just between us kangaroos,
what do you reckon?

Let's start with Art Simone,
back from the outback.

Michelle: I loved the makeup
that she did with it.

I loved those skinny brows,
very Marie Antoinette.

She kept the theme all the way
through,
looked great.

What more can you ask for
in a design challenge?

You know, a lot of times
when we would bring girls back,

they get sent right back home
again.

It's like the curse of being
brought back.

I don't think that's
gonna happen to Art Simone.

-It would be funny, though.
-[laughs]

Off with her head!

Etcetera Etcetera.

Michelle:
Etcetera looked very pretty
tonight.

The issues for me were
I didn't really see

any real structure
to the bottom half of it,

and the makeup kind of stopping
at her
face, not coming all the way
down.

In that era, they would
always bring the white down.

She missed a beat on that.

It wasn't finished in a way
where you go,
"I want to see more of that."

Michelle:
Was it pretty? Absolutely.

Could she have done more?
Yeah.

-Maxi Shield.
-Wow, wow, wow!

She stepped out of her comfort
zone.

She wasn't just being camp,
she was fashion tonight.

She looked sexy.

RuPaul: I thought it was really
beautifully styled.

Everything worked so well
for Maxi Shield.

Karen From Finance.

So, Elz, are you familiar
with Schapelle Corby?

I don't know what was going on.

It was kind of like Dora the
Explorer
doing bad things.

Michelle: This is RuPaul's Drag
Race,
and if you're gonna do Schapelle
Corby,

then you need to do a drag
version.

It felt like she was going to
a costume party, not a drag
show.

RuPaul: A disappointing week
for a very talented queen.

Let's move on to Anita Wigl'it.

It looked like it took a lot of
work
to put that together,

so I really appreciated the
effort.

Michelle:
I think the downfall was the
fact

that this is something
we've seen many times.

I don't know whether I'm just
blinded
by how much I love her energy.

She could be in a sack,
and she could just be selling
it.

She's like, "Hey, I'm having
a great time up here."

I too am obsessed with that sort
of
manic smile that she does.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help
the outfit very much.

The construction of it
was really shoddy.

Had she walked two steps faster,
it would have fallen apart.

-Yeah.
-Scarlet Adams.

Michelle: We knew exactly what
she was
selling when she came out here.

And for me,
the highlight were the shorts.

Glam-diculous!

RuPaul: The proportions of the
outfit
to her body, the placement of
the grapes,

wherever your eyes landed,
there was something interesting
about it.

The first episode,
I did not peg her to be this
girl.

-No, I didn't peg her, period.
