MICHELLE: It is about
the sun is coming up,
it's really, really magical.
-[crickets chirping]
-I feel very small right now.
I've always been
a little bit of a thrill seeker.
I love a challenge,
it's just something that
I've always sought ever since
I was quite young really.
I am about to go on
an adventure of a lifetime
with Bear Grylls
and I couldn't be more excited.
Everybody should start the day
like this, this is special.
BEAR: Michelle Monaghan has
crafted a remarkable career.
From blockbuster action
to demanding drama.
So baby, you're the best!
BEAR: From prestige television
hits to romantic comedy.
There really isn't anything
she can't do.
Warm, grounded and lovable,
she brings a down to earth
strength and heart to her work.
- I'm thoroughly impressed.
- Are you?
BEAR: Proving time and again
she's one of Hollywood's best.
I don't know
if any of this is real.
[grunting]
Nostrovia!
BEAR: That kind of success
takes commitment and courage.
I'm more of a dumb luck
kind of gal.
BEAR: Out here in the desert,
Michelle's going to need
that spirit...
Oh, my God.
BEAR:... as we dive into
the adventure ahead.
[exciting music playing]
MICHELLE:
Bear has left me a Jeep
and I am going to go meet him.
This is definitely
a bucket list item for me,
getting to have an experience
with Bear Grylls.
I love the way
that he pushes everyone
out of their comfort zone.
I might do it a little kicking
and screaming, we'll see.
Or I might just take a leap
of faith and just go for it.
Oh wow, what is that?
Oh, my God,
it's starting, it's happening.
This is like a treasure hunt.
- Where do I go?
- [car door closes]
[giggling]
There is a note.
"Every great adventure
begins with a leap of faith."
Oh, my God, yes! Yes!
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
This is a parachute, my friends.
Um...
I'm ready, I'm ready, let's go.
Oh, my gosh, Bear!
Where you at?
I can not imagine another way
to start a weekend, oh, my God.
[laughing]
Yes!
Woo! Hi!
All right, let's go!
Let's go!
Woo!
Oh, my God!
- Here we go!
- Yes, thank you!
I feel very excited about
skydiving, I've done it before,
but I get to do it
with Bear Grylls.
He's coming with me, right?
Michelle, it's gonna be fine,
we'll be together.
You gonna love it!
Ready, set, go!
[Michelle screaming]
Woohoo! Yes!
Woo! Yes!
Woo!
Woohoo! Yes! Yes!
Woo!
Michelle is on the canopy.
Gotta get her down safely.
Woohoo!
Woo!
Woo!
Oh, man!
Every time that
I've taken a leap of faith...
- Yes.
- ...it has been a gift
that I've given myself.
BEAR: Well done!
MICHELLE: It's helped launch
myself into a new path
or to another new adventure.
Great job, well done.
I'm going to be taking
a huge leap of faith today.
Okay,
we're gonna get packs on.
- Stash these shoes.
- Okay, great.
And then we're going to be
heading that way.
All right, let's do it.
BEAR: Now that
we're safely on the ground,
Michelle and I will be
travelling through a hot
and exposed desert landscape
towards a series of canyons,
which we will have
to find our way across.
With only 12 hours until
we have to rendezvous
with our helicopter
for extraction,
we'll need to make up
time by tracking down
an all-terrain vehicle
to race across a long stretch
of high desert.
From there,
we'll arrive at a final canyon,
where a steep drop to
the bottom stands between
us and our extraction point.
Watch your footing on this,
it's really good grippy rock.
Okay, great.
But when you get sand on it
like here,
it's only going to get slippery.
Okay, great. Perfect.
-You move like Bambis.
-Yeah. [chuckling]
You obviously do a bit of this.
I do a little bit of this.
You know what, I've been
doing Pilates for years.
I love to hike
and I love to be outdoors.
It's just kind of

I get really excited about.
Where do you get
your beautiful, positive,
can-do-anything spirit?
I got it from my parents.
You know, I grew up in rural
Iowa, a very, very small town.
My dad worked in
a factory and was a farmer.
My mom ran a daycare out
of our home.
And they just always
said to my brothers and I,
"You can do anything you want.
"You just
got to put your mind to it.
"You can do
whatever you want to do."
And I just always felt
the world was my oyster.
- Good job, your parents.
- Yeah, good job on them.
- That's nice to hear.
- Yeah.
They're going to be
so excited about this show.
They know I'm a bit of
an adrenaline junkie.

It's harsh.
It's hot, dry, dusty.
The sun is fierce.
This place is against you.
MICHELLE: See how one
would get so dehydrated.
BEAR: In heat this intense,
exposure isn't just
uncomfortable, it's dangerous.
When you can't find shade,
improvisation becomes survival.
Ah, look.
- There's a bit of damp.
- Okay.
Gonna stay protective in the
sun as well. That's important.
MICHELLE: That's exactly right.
I love it.
I would say this is
better quality sun protection.
And also it stops mosquitoes.
I'm big on SPF.
But if mud is gonna make my SPF.

I am a total SPF advocate.

I was diagnosed with melanoma.
I caught it early.

- The warthogs, yeah.
- Why not?
- There's a saying
where I'm from like...
Which it's kind of like
what I am right now.
Like happier than a pig
in [bleep], so.
- What's your dad's name?
- Bob.
Bob would be very proud of you.
He would be very proud.
- He'd go, "That's my girl."
- Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
I guess today is a definite

Wow! Oh! Look at this!
BEAR: So all of this will

Do you think
that young girl at Iowa
would have ever imagined
the life you've gone on to live?
You know, that young girl,
she wanted to be a journalist.
I actually studied
journalism in college.
Yeah. And I was excited
about what was beyond
the bubble that I lived in.
Journalism always really
appealed to me
and that's what
I studied in college.
But then, in order to
put myself through college,
I started modeling.
And it was
the modeling that kind of
really opened up
my eyes to being like,
"Hey, I kind of like being
in front of the camera.
"Like, this is kind of cool."
And I dropped out of school,
actually,
just before my senior year.
And my folks said,
"Well, we always told you
to follow your heart."
And my dad said, "You've got
a good head on your shoulders."
And that's kind of really
when the transition
into the next stage
of my life happened.
And have you met your husband,
Peter, by this time?
Oh! I met Pete right as
I started acting, actually.
- BEAR: Yeah.
- Great story.
We had gotten married
in Australia.
I was getting ready to
start Mission: Impossible III,
and we didn't have time
to take a honeymoon
because I had
to flight back to L.A.
And so we get
back to the hotel room,
and, of course,
I get the call sheet.
They slide it underneath
my hotel room door,
and it's an intimate scene
that I'm doing
with Tom Cruise the next day.
And I'm like, "Oh, my God,
I can't believe this
"is like my first day
on set with Tom Cruise."
It's a perfect time for you
to go sightseeing.
Yeah, exactly.
And he was like,
"Baby, it's going to be amazing.
"Just follow his lead.
He's a total professional."
I go to set. We proceed
to have the most amazing day.
It was so special.
So cool. So fun!
And, of course, I'd forgotten my
key, and I knocked on the door.
He opens up the door,
and he goes, "How was it?"
I was like, "It was amazing."
He goes, "Go brush your teeth.
Tell me all about it."
Go brush your teeth.
And then I tell him
all about it, and he goes,
"Baby, how cool is it
that you were making out
"with Tom Cruise
on our honeymoon?"
I was like,
I knew I married the right man.
BEAR: I mean, good for him.
What a team.
What do you think was the film
that flipped things for you?
It was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
the like,
the transition one, do you feel?
Oh, yeah.
That was a huge one for me.
It changed my life.
But what's more important is
the story that happened before
me getting that job,
which was...
I was supposed to go fly in
and audition with Shane Black,
our writer-director,
and read with Downey
and I remember flying,
getting to the hotel,
and I was like,
"There's no way I can go in.
"I don't know how to do this.
I don't understand the tone.
"There's no way."
And I remember calling up
my agent from the hotel phone,
and her assistant
puts me on hold.
I had such an immense amount
of fear in that moment.
And I went, "This means
you have to do it, Michelle.
"You have to do it."
And I just hung up the phone,
and I walked out of the hotel
room right then and there.
I got in a taxi,
and I got the job.
And I have used that example
for my life time and time again.
The moment that I feel fear
jumping out of the plane,
getting across there
with any kind of role,
I just remember,
I've been here before.
I've done it. I can do it again.
And so, I really take
that as a sign
once I have that anxiety,
once I have that fear,
I use that as like,
"Oh, no, that's a green light.
"That's a real big green light."
And there's a bit
of hand-holding
that always goes up
leading us to the edge.
- Yeah.
- You know, like you're agent
or whatever, but also
when you are on the edge
you've got to kind of hang up
that phone.
- Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- Take that leap.
And you've got to do it. You do.
It's like you've got to take
that leap of faith.
But it's a muscle,
isn't it, inside?
You've got to train that.
That's right. I love
the way that you say that.
It is like a muscle.
You do have to train it.
And I really think
it's what ultimately
defines people that are
successful in any industry.
You know? It's really saying
yes instead of saying no.
- Yes, it's not easy for people.
- Yeah.
It's not, and that's why you
need, you know, a lot of people
around you to support you,
you know.
And you know,
it starts from a very young age.
And so, you know,
I had that growing up.
And, you know, I still have it.
I still call up my folks,
and they're like,
"Oh, we're so proud of you,"
and this and that."
It came from the beginning,
from your folks.
That's right, "Good stock,"
as they would say.
- And a good start. Yeah.
- Yeah. That's right.
Brilliant.
Okay, we gotta keep moving.
Okay. Okay.
Oh, that was so nice,
that little shade.
Now instantly back to the heat.
Yeah, no. It's amazing.
We're in the heat,
and we're going to keep moving.
Okay, let's do it.
BEAR: Michelle and I are heading
deeper into the desert.
There are few ways we can
cross this arid expanse
without a little bit of help.
My team has cached
an all-terrain vehicle
somewhere up ahead.
Now we just need to find it.
Here we go.
- Okay.
- This is our track.
So, we're looking for our ATV.
That's gonna help us
on this journey.
Okay. Let's do it.
- We're getting there, Michelle.
- That's all right.
I'm enjoying the view.
- Oh, yes.
- Here's our ATV.
Oh, my gosh. Wow.
- BEAR: Yeah, great.
- This is my kind of ride.
Okay, let's cut the net off,
and then you happy to drive?
- Yeah. Okay.
- Yeah, I think so.
Yeah,
I'm so excited I get to drive.
We'll be all buckled
in and safe,
but this looks like some fun
terrain to get to travel over.
Lots of firsts today.
We're just going to take it
as far as it'll get us
before we get back on our feet.
- [ATV beeping]
- BEAR: I love it.
- Okay. We're already there.
- And then that's the gear.
And a little bit of gas
to get us out of this hole...
- Okay.
- ...and we're good.
- Woo!

Oh, this is fun.
[loud rumble]

- BEAR: Okay, just hold here.
MICHELLE: Oh, wow! What is that?
- BEAR: We ran something over.
- Okay.
Yeah.
MICHELLE: Oh, my.
- Wow, look at that.
- Wow.
- That's a rattler.
- Wow.
- Yeah, listen to that.
- Oh, my gosh.
Looks like
we just found lunch, though.
Just take the head off.
Just...
And then here you go.
You hold that.
Okay.
You can hold that like that.
Hold it that way.
I could make
a clutch out of this.
There you go.
- Wow.
- That'll do.
I think that's a meatier bit.
We'll take that.
It looks like we're having
snake for lunch, so here we go.
What we could do is like
put that on the engine
as we drive,
and then we'll cook it.
- [laughing] Oh, my gosh.
- I'm going to jam it in.
We're going total full
Michelin style,
and we are going to cook it
on the engine
while I drive us
to our next stop.
It might have a little
exhaust aroma to it by the end,
- but it will be cooked.
- That's all right.
It'll be a little smoky.
- I love it.
- Improvise, adapt, overcome.
Hey, it's good.
Woo!
[Michelle laughing]
BEAR: Well, the snake's
going to be cooking.
-[Michelle laughing]
-Nice and smoky.
BEAR: That's right.
With the ATV acquired,
a bit of wind in our hair,
and our snake cooking
on the engine,
we're finally eating up
some miles
through this huge desert.
We're traveling past
sandstone fins
and eroding monoliths.
Eventually,
we'll run out of road
and have to push on towards
our extraction on foot.
But both of us are grateful
to have shaved off
considerable distance
with this vehicle.
BEAR: Yeah.
Yeah.
So good.
MICHELLE: Here?
Michelle, k*ller driver.
It's like that thing
of slow is smooth
and smooth is fast.
And she was smooth
and she was fast.
Good job.
What do you think
the rattlesnake is?
Where are we at?
Like medium rare?
- Medium?
- I think it might be
a little chargrilled,
to be honest with you.
Okay, so from here
we're going to be back on foot.
Okay.
We're heading basically
that way.
Okay, let's get the snake...
- All right, let's do it.
- ...and then keep moving.
MICHELLE:
That was a lot of fun.
I was so grateful
that Bear let me
get behind the wheel of that.
Ow.
[Michelle laughing]
It'll be fine. It'll be fine.
It doesn't smell too bad.
No, it smells good actually.
Actually, it's fun.
Job done cooked.
Wow, amazing.
I like to pride myself
on my multitasking skills.
So, listen, we cooked a snake
and we got to the end
of the road.
So, we're, uh,
we're going places.
BEAR:
Okay, what else can we take?
Battery.
Okay.
You can use that
to start the fire.
Okay, great.
You've got the snake.
- Yep, I've got the snake.
- BEAR: I've got the fire.
All right, that seems fair.
- Good to go.
- All right, let's do this.
BEAR: Michelle and I
are back on foot now
with miles of hot desert
still between us
and the final canyon.
Before the push to extraction,
we need to rehydrate and refuel.
Luckily, we've got snake to eat,
a battery to spark a fire
and just enough shade
under this juniper to regroup.
I feel like
we're going tree to tree.
I'm a big fan of the shade.
Yeah. Look, these are junipers.
So. Wow, oh wow.
I mean, this tree is good
not only because
we can get under it,
get some shade, eat our snake,
- we can also make juniper tea.
- Yeah.
Wow, great.
You collect some berries.
I'll collect some tinder
and some little wood.
We'll pool resources
and have lunch.
MICHELLE: Cool, perfect.
Have you ever done this
with a battery?
MICHELLE: No, I've only...
You never know
where you might need to do this
- with your juniors.
- That's right.
Just take that one off.
- Okay.
- Pull that one off.
Okay, don't touch the end now
because these are now live.
- Okay.
- Grab that end.
- All right.
- Okay, so you just
touch the terminals together
in there.
- [wires sparking]
- [Michelle gasping]
MICHELLE: Wow.
Wow.
BEAR:
Plenty of juice in the ATV.
That... That's amazing.
BEAR: There are going to be kids
all over the world
ripping batteries
out of their dad's--
Don't do this at home.
- Yeah, be careful.
- Don't do this at home.
Some water
in the edge of the fire.
Let's throw the junipers
- into that.
- All right.
BEAR:
I have bought one other thing
- I want to put in our tea.
- Oh, yay.
This is something
I never travel without.
Wherever I go,
jungles, mountains,
summit of Everest,
- you name it...
- What is it?
...there's
one survival essential
that I never,
ever go anywhere without.
Oh my gosh, I have to know.
- English breakfast tea bag.
- Of course.
How do you as a mum
encourage resilience
and that sort of spirit
in your kids now?
Yeah, I mean,
the only expectation
that I kind of have for my kids
in terms of resilience
and new challenges
is always just try your best.
There's a saying that
I sort of leave them with,
but it's something that I, that
it kind of guides me as well,
which is just, "Always leave a
place better than you found it."
- Yeah.
- And I believe that
if that's your compass,
that you will
have a positive experience,
you know, and hopefully
those around you
will also have
a positive experience.
And that covers
relationships and people
- in almost every encounter.
- MICHELLE: It does.
Yeah, absolutely.
Absolutely.
What do they say most
when people come up to you?
- MICHELLE: Yeah.
- So, what is the film
- or the TV show?
- All of them, you know,
and it's funny, I can size
people up in about...
- Really?
- ...a second, flat.
That's gonna be
a White Lotus fan.
Oh, that's a White Lotus
or that's a Made of Honor
or that a Gone Baby--
Or Source Code.
Yeah.
But I think the White Lotus,
that's probably
the one gig currently
that people are
really gravitating towards.
Nothing, you know, for me
makes me feel more grounded
than, you know,
being with friends,
real friends.
I've been in this industry
for over 20 years
and to have this kind
of longevity,
I don't take a second of it
for granted.
- Yeah.
- And to have White Lotus
come out and people respond
to it in such a positive way
and to also have my kids
kind of be witness to that.
- Yeah.
- Like, our son was,
like, "They recognize you," and
I was like, "I know they do."
How do you handle the fame
from that sort of thing?
It's comfortable.
Like, I always sort of
feel like, honestly,
I fly under the radar,
like, in real life.
And I feel like
I've been able to have
success in this industry,
but yet I've been able
to kind of maintain
- a pretty normal life as well.
- Yeah.
And that, to me,
has been everything.
And that's strategic, you know,
really kind of
creating that balance,
not for myself,
but for my family.
You know, I think
that's really important
to just our health of us.
- Yeah.
- And so, you know,
being gracious and,
yeah, it's just, it's cool.
It makes me happy.
It's that thing of,
give someone power
and you see what
they're really like.
- Yeah, yeah.
- And I think fame's
a bit like that.
It's so nice seeing how grounded
you are with it all.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
- In the best sense of the way.
- Thank you.
Okay, should we try some snake?
Have you had snake before?
MICHELLE:
No, I've never had it.
Okay, so we'll take off the,
this is the exhaust skin there.
There you have it.
Gnaw on some of that.
Okay, great. Down the hatch.
It tastes a lot like chicken.
[Bear laughing]
Everyone always says that
and I'm always thinking,
"Where are you getting
your chicken?"
- [Michelle laughing]
- You maybe need a new butcher.
But it's not bad.
- Yeah.
- At all, is it?
BEAR: Okay, cool.
We've got to try the juniper
English breakfast mix.
- Oh, my gosh.
- Do you want to go first?
- Yes.
- Your lips won't burn on that.
Okay.
Oh, my gosh,
that is so good.
Yeah. And the Native Americans
would use juniper
as a pain relief as well,
- so it's going to help us...
- Really? Wow.
...in all the next part
of the journey.
As the blisters kick in.
- Wait, that is so good.
- Yeah.
Michelle is such a light,
but what I notice
is that she's always grateful
and I think when we live life
with a grateful heart,
it creates that
happy disposition
about people and you don't
accidentally find that.
That's hard won.
Okay, we're going to push on.
We've got one more canyon
- to get down...
- Okay.
...and eventually
at the end of that
is where we'll get picked up.
Okay, amazing.
A few surprises along the way,
but that's good.
Okay, I love surprises.
BEAR:
Just watch your footing on this.
Michelle and I are pushing on.
The desert is making us
earn every step here.
The wind is picking up
and the day is running long.
Wow.
BEAR:
Now we need to make our way
to one final canyon,
the last obstacle
standing between us
and extraction.
Oh, look.
- See that?
- [Michelle gasping]
Oh, my God.
BEAR: A little tarantula,
happy enjoying the shade.
Oh, my gosh.
- Can I hold it?
- Yeah.
So, see all these
- little hairs on it?
- Yeah.
BEAR:
They're called urticating hairs
and if you try to eat that,
it'll get stuck in your throat
and swell up
and been known
to k*ll people like that.
So, I've eaten a lot
of these over the years.
Have you?
I have, but you've got
to burn those hairs off.
- Yeah.
- That's the thing.
- But they're so beautiful.
- They're beautiful.
I think we're gonna leave him
in a little bit of shade.
They're really beautiful.
MICHELLE: Wow.
- Okay, there's the canyon edge.
- Okay.
Michelle,
that's where we're going.
It's still windy.
It's very windy.
- And hot.
- And-- Very hot.
MICHELLE: Wow.
Wow, look at this.
BEAR:
Oh, yeah. Look at that.
Oh, yeah.
That's a sheer drop down
from the canyon.
MICHELLE: Oh, wow.
Do you see how green it is
down there?
It's beautiful.
BEAR: This is
like beautiful valley, wow.
It's really beautiful.
So, we need
to get down to there.
- MICHELLE: Okay.
- BEAR: Then we need to
follow it for a little bit.
- Okay.
- And eventually our extraction
is going to be
a little further down there.
- MICHELLE: Okay.
- BEAR: So, we've reached
the edge of this canyon.
This is the last push.
Once we drop down into this,
we're going to follow it
towards our extraction point.
It's a long way down though.
It's probably 180 foot.
I've got just enough rope
for two of us to do this.
I kind of feel like this is
a good one to do together.
Time for the rope.
I think
we should do this together.
- Side by side.
- I love that.
- I would love that.
- Yeah.
MICHELLE: This canyon,
which is absolutely stunning.
It's majestic.
The only problem is
we have to get down it.
And it sounds like
we're going to be repelling.
But Bear might join me,
which would be great
to have him by my side.
BEAR:
Find something to tie it off to.
MICHELLE: Okay.
So, you take your pick.
What do you think?
Oh, wow.
BEAR: Tree or rock?
I don't know
if I necessarily trust a tree.
But what about this rock?
Can you get underneath it?
That would hold us both, right?
We had to choose
a rock or a tree.
Obviously, you can see
the climate that we're in.
I wouldn't trust a tree
with a 10 foot pole.
It's definitely-- Got it here.
- Can we do that?
- Yeah.
So, we found a rock,
a very solid rock
that I was able to
kind of thread the rope under.
Okay, and then
we'll tie a bowline.
- Do you know a bowline?
- No, I don't.
- Okay, here we go.
- Okay.
Come on this side,
and you got it.
- That's a rabbit.
- MICHELLE: Bear allowing me
to just randomly tie it up
to any old rock
and do the knot,
that's a big responsibility.
- Through the hole.
- No, out of the hole first.
MICHELLE:
All right, out of the hole.
- Right through.
- BEAR: The other way.
- Around the tree.
- Around the tree, yeah.
My rabbit's a little lost.
I'm slightly nervous.
I did choose the anchor.
- Back down the hole.
- Back down the hole.
Okay, got it.
- BEAR: Job done.
- MICHELLE: Okay, perfect.
And I did tie the knot.
Oh, my gosh.
- Done.
- Done.
Kids, don't do that at home.
BEAR:
Okay, so, lean back on the rope.
- Yep.
- Put your weight on it.
If you pull
that handle gently...
- MICHELLE: Yeah.
- ...it will allow the rope
to run through.
That's it, that's it.
- Yeah.
- Keep coming, keep coming.
- Okay.
- So, the key with this
is a nice wide stance.
We're going to be side by side.
- Okay.
- BEAR: We're about
three foot from the edge here.
- MICHELLE: Okay.
- Once you go over the edge,
nice wide stance,
we're not swinging around.
MICHELLE: Okay.
There you go, there you go.
Let's get right to the edge.
Okay, and we'll hold it there.
- Okay.
- Okay, so now,
- if you let go of everything.
- Yep.
Let go of your handle.
Let go of it.
We're good.
MICHELLE: Wow.
That's it. That's it.
- Yeah.
- Keep coming, keep coming.
Let's get right to the edge.
Nice wide stance.
We're not swinging around.
Place your feet deliberately.
This is the awkward bit.
[Michelle grunting]
BEAR: Well done. We're good.
MICHELLE: Wow.
BEAR: Okay?
[Michelle laughing]
Now, it gets easier.
MICHELLE: Oh, man.
BEAR: Gently ease it back.
We're walking down.
- Walking down.
- MICHELLE: Okay.
BEAR: Side by side. Nice.
You'll find a feather point
on it where it sort of sticks
and then releases.
That's it. Beautiful.
MICHELLE: Wow.
Well, we're on the overhang.
- MICHELLE: Oh, my gosh.
- BEAR: Whew.
- MICHELLE: Wow.
- BEAR: One way down.
MICHELLE: Holy cow.
BEAR:
That's got to be 150 foot.
- Oh, my gosh.
- BEAR: It's quite cool
when you're just free hanging
in the free air like this.
MICHELLE: Oh, my gosh.
It seems like it's...
It's unbelievable.
- BEAR: Okay.
- MICHELLE: Oh, my gosh.
- You ready? We keep going?
- Yes.
BEAR:
Handle down. Here we go.
Easy going. Good control.
Wow.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, this is so amazing.
Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.
I'm a yes person
and it has gotten me
to where I'm at in my life.
BEAR:
A little bit down.
Use our feet.
One, two, three.
MICHELLE:
I wholeheartedly believe,
take that leap of faith always.
- Come on. I love it.
- [Michelle laughing]
Yes.
- Want to do a big one here?
- MICHELLE: Yes.
- Let's do a big one.
- BEAR: Ready?
- MICHELLE: Set, go.
- BEAR: Here we go.
MICHELLE: Woo!
[Michelle laughing]
It feels very surreal.
I am sincerely feeling
like I'm in a little bit
of a dream state and
I think it's going to be wild
when I wake up tomorrow.
[Michelle laughing]
I can't believe I just did that.
That was fast.
- That was good.
- Oh, my gosh. That was amazing.
Well done.
That was a cool little bounce
over that one.
Oh, my gosh.
That was so fun.
BEAR: Still smiling.
Covered in dust.
Covered in mud.
Michelle goes calm.
We got to do a big
Mission Impossible leap out.
Big swing over this boulder.
I love it.
It's like adventuring
with a pro.
Wow.
Woo!
Beauty definitely
outweighs the fear.
[helicopter whirring]
There's the helicopter.
- Let's get the smoke popped.
- Okay.
That's it.
MICHELLE:
Today, tested me
but it's amazing to be able
to have the opportunity
to go and do things like
this because I know
how rare it is
and how special it is.
PILOT: Hold it there.
Hold it there. That's perfect.
MICHELLE: Has me have a whole
new profound respect
for our environment
and for my body.
Yeah, this has just
been the coolest.
[Michelle laughing]
Oh, my gosh.
Wow.
Michelle is so obviously
such a light.
She's got a great
adventure spirit
that's served her so well
in her career
and long may that
adventure light keep shining.
It's no surprise
this lady is top of her game.
Pretty unstoppable.
MICHELLE: Here, we started
off with a bang
and we ended with a bang.
This is just
beyond my wildest imagination.
Just, this is so amazing, man.
Just so grateful for allowing me
to come along for the ride
of having this experience
and also just being
a friend.
Coolest thing ever!
Not only did I have
an adventure of a lifetime,
but I feel like
I gained a new friend today, so.
Running Wild with
Michelle Monaghan, cut.
Woo!
