= Episode 2 =

I will count to three.

If you don't confess,

I'll k*ll you.

If you do,

I'll make it painless.

Three.

Think of something.

One. k*ll him.

Wait. Don't.

I confess.

Your Highness.

I have been a scrub worker for decades.

I've severed...

I mean, "served" hundreds
and thousands of people.

Well, Commander Yan's death

has nothing to do with me.

Because in fact, I am

a rare inventor.

I don't have the energy
or the time to k*ll people.

k*ll him.

I-I have something here that can prove it.

It is

a rare armor that's impervious to blades.

Beautiful lady,

can you take it to Her Highness?

It's right in this cloth bag.

Dear God.

Give me a bulletproof vest to save me.

Please.

See? I wasn't lying.

Your Highness, see?

If you and your people put on this armor,

your combat power will soar.

And my lord, you will be
the most handsome man in the world.

Do you have any other inventions?

Yes.

I'm working on them.

Your Highness.

Now you believe
that I am an inventor, right?

Inventor?

You're a descendant of Guigu?

Yes.

That's right.

Even so,

you are still a suspect.

Your Highness.

I solemnly swear that

I devote my life and soul to you

and I'll serve you

with full loyalty.

If I break this vow, I, Chu Xiaoran,

will have no descendants

and be forever despised.

[This man is truly spineless.]

Ruyi.

Take him back.

Watch him closely.

Understood.

Qingcheng.

Why not leave him to me?

Alright.

Thankfully, I am clever.

Otherwise, you could have died.

Why do you fall for such a mean princess?

How do you know?

I told you I'm a fairy.

You won't fall for
any other woman in this world?

What an ambitious toad.

The princess used to be quite sweet.

It was an afternoon with heavy snow.

We were together...

Stop.

Long story short.

I will fulfill your dream
as soon as possible.

Cooperate with me fully from now on.

Fulfill my dream?

That's right.

I'll help you win over the princess

and reach the pinnacle of life.

But I think that Duke is quite nice.

So amiable.

And that body of his.

He looks upright and decent

at first glance.

[Commander Yan is dead.]

[The evidence is rendered useless.]

[It's even harder to implicate]

[Lord Zhennan now.]

I've underestimated my Sixth Uncle.

We've alerted the enemy.

It will be hard to make another move.

His Lordship avenges the smallest grievance.

We must stay alert.

There's something fishy with Chu Xiaoran.

Set him up to make him talk.

Understood.

[What's going on?]

[Why can't I move now?]

Who are you?

You didn't betray us, did you?

You did well by k*lling Commander Yan.

Our lord sent us to rescue you
and escort you out of the city.

You simpleton!

Are you really working for the Sixth Lord?

Of course not.

Is it a trick?

I see.

I didn't k*ll anyone.

You got the wrong guy.

I am just a bathhouse attendant.

How can I know your lord?

Really?

Really.

I, Chu Xiaoran, hereby swear

that I'll never have descendants if I lie.

Boss.

Since he already knows our secret...

J-Just a minute.

Wait.

Wonderful.

This man is really a genius.

Your Highness.

He escaped.

Please punish me, Your Highness.

Look at me.

What happened?

Tell me everything.

Take the gold and spare my life.

Bring it here.

We don't like gold.

Tell the truth

and we'll spare you.

I have another treasure.

This is very rare.

Empress Dowager Cixi's great pearl.

Look.

Your Highness.

That man is way too cunning.

I've never heard of

Empress Dowager Cixi.

That thing was so dazzling.

I thought I saw my great-grandmother
who passed away a decade ago.

This man is really a genius.

Capture him.

Understood.

Oh no.

We have thoroughly offended the princess.

We can't go back to the bathhouse.

Are you regretting it?

No.

I would have died without you.

Good for you.

Indeed, it's a pity
we can't return to the bathhouse.

And we won't complete
the mission anytime soon.

What mission?

Haven't you been in love
with the princess since childhood?

Fulfilling your dream
is my lifelong pursuit.

How noble of you.

Go on.

[Mansion of Lord Zhennan]

[Who is this dumb guy with short-sightedness?]

Who are you, sir?

You blind creature.

This is Lord Zhennan, the Sixth Lord.

Believe me...

Who's the lord here?

[So he is that lord. He's quite cute.]

[Just short-sighted.]

What are you doing?

Just kidding.

Well...

I've heard that

my dear niece has been
heartless and ruthless enough

to set you up.

Tell me.

What talent do you have?

My lord.

Your words are so heartwarming.

Princess Qingcheng is so cruel.

She got me bruised everywhere.

Our lord asked you a question.

Just tell the truth.

Otherwise, I swear...

Will you stop?

[Oh no, if I say something wrong,]

[I might get k*lled. It doesn't make sense.]

Go on.

My lord.

I am

actually

a descendant of Guigu.

[Look at that face of yours.
You got bluffed, didn't you?]

My lord.

I can cure

your eyes

right away.

Right away, my lord.

Be bluffed. Please be bluffed.
