[instrumental music]
Toben, listen, now, don't talk to me about chess.
You know what you are, Barnes?
Do you know what you are? You're a checker snob.
- Oh, now, look, Toben.. - And don't block the gate.
Mr. Sager.
Alright, I'll appeal to an expert.
Sager, you play chess, you play checkers.
Now, in your honest opinion..
Kenneth?
You want a chair, Mr. Sager?
Why?
Well, you look a little white, Ken.
I feel perfectly fine.
I got the special delivery letter you sent up, Toben.
Thank you.
Well, I-I hope there wasn't any bad news in it, Mr. Sager.
I'll see you tomorrow.
[instrumental music]
[music continues]
[dog barks] Quiet, Shawn.
[barking]
Shame on you.
This is a friend of ours.
Hello, Kenneth.
Hello, Robinson.
And how are things in the m*ssile business?
You have something new for me, more microfilm?
No.
No? Well, why did you phone me?
You told me you would get Lizzal out of the prison.
Yes, yes, I did. I-I will.
She died eight months ago.
I asked the West German authorities to check on it.
Kenneth, communications between East and West Berlin
are hardly reliable.
You knew she was dead all this time.
Why on Earth didn't you tell me?
First, I didn't want you to worry.
I knew how much the girl meant to you.
And after a while, I couldn't bring myself
to explain the cruelty of it.
I didn't want you to blame the party.
What you mean is, that if I knew she was dead
I'd stop spying for you?
Well, I'm through with the party.
And I'm through with you.
'Kenneth.'
Turn around.
'I want to show you something.'
[dramatic music]
[g*nsh*t]
[groans]
[whining]
It's alright, Shawn.
[music continues]
Poor fellow.
This is the only part I never get used to, Joseph.
Thanks for phoning to warn me anyway.
What was bothering him, Robinson?
Was it the letter he got?
He found out his girlfriend was dead, he went all to pieces.
When the next blueprint comes I want you
have it photographed for me, can you do that?
Of course.
Come on, Shawn.
[theme music]
[male narrator] The FBI.
A Quinn Martin Production.
Starring, Efrem Zimbalist Jr.
Also starring, Philip Abbott.
William Reynolds
with guest stars, Julie Sommars..
...Harold Gould
and special guest star
Michael Rennie.
Tonight's episode, "The Daughter."
[music continues]
On April 4th, investigation by the agents of the FBI
in Los Angeles, led to the capture
of a communist courier named Derek Lam.
Thought Lam seemed unable to identify
his superiors in the United States
he was willing to reveal their target.
He had been sent to pick up microfilm plans
taken from the Pacific m*ssile Development Corporation
of Long Beach.
They would be addressed to E.K. Jackson
care of general delivery, San Pedro, California.
While the FBI waited for a second courier
to claim the package.
The body of Kenneth Sager, a draftsman
who had had access to some of the plans of Pacific m*ssile
was found on a deserted beach near Palos Verdes.
I'm Lewis Erskine, with the FBI.
Oh, Sgt. Cookham, LAPD.
What have we got, sergeant?
Oh, apparent suicide.
I'd guess he's been dead 15 or 20 hours.
Apparently he tried to sh**t himself down by the ocean
botched the job and tried to crawl back to his car.
Any other evidence, besides a g*n?
No.
- No other tracks? - No.
I guess with the way the wind is around here
they would be any left anyway after 15 to 20 hours.
Not likely.
No suicide note?
No, we didn't find one
either on the body or in his car.
'I guess he was trying to get back to it.'
His keys are already in his hand.
[dramatic music]
[Toben] 'Yes, sir. I do remember seeing this.'
He won it in a chess match at Wilmington.
He was a very good chess player.
'Very fine man too.'
Mr. Toben, would this little charm have had some
special significance with Sager, do you think?
Not that I know of.
When did this chess tournament take place, Mr. Toben?
Well, it wasn't a tournament
it was head-to-head play with a pro.
Remember the pro's name?
I don't think I ever heard it.
Mr. Sager never talked about things like that.
Kept his nose pretty much to the grindstone, huh?
[Toben] 'Yes, sir. He certainly did.'
He was always here, long after everybody else was gone.
Night after night. Of course he wasn't married.
He did have a girlfriend, though, but she was overseas.
- Where? - 'Germany.'
Do you recall her name?
No, I don't. I'm sorry. I can't help you.
Oh, I do remember, though, that he got a letter
from Berlin a couple of days ago.
In fact, that was the day he disappeared.
He looked terrible when he came out that afternoon.
I remember wondering if maybe she turned him down.
Any sign of a letter like that in his personal effects?
Nothing from Berlin.
It was an official looking letter
special delivery from the Berlin Mayor's office.
Alright, Mr. Toben. Thanks very much.
Yes, sir. Anytime.
Got to take a run down to Wilmington.
See if you can locate the man he won this from.
Try all the hobby shops, card parlors, chess clubs..
Check with any players you find on the beach.
Have a couple more questions I want to ask him
then I'll have another talk with Lam.
Yes, sir.
[instrumental music]
Well, this calls for some thought.
Are you worried, Albert?
I always worry a little when you drop by, Martin.
Everyone wants to know what happened
between you and Kenneth Sager.
In my opinion, he was no longer useful to us.
He might even have been a danger.
We still don't have the final set of blueprints, do we?
Now, with your plan contact--
Please, I've had a second man in there for over a month.
It's all taken care of.
Check.
All the same. Couldn't have come at a worse time.
Did you know they picked up Lam?
What about the San Pedro package?
Still in the post office, general delivery, I suppose.
Alright. Let's see how close to being blood hounds really are.
I'll send someone else after it.
Albert, you can't do that. We--
'I didn't say I'd send someone valuable, Martin.'
Please leave the worrying to me.
Still the OC.
I need another operation.
It's like I keep too much inside me.
You understand, don't you, Shawn?
Check.
I don't know how you can go on living alone like this.
Martin, shall I tell you a secret?
There's just one absolutely certain way
of going down the drain if you're in my position.
That's by becoming involved with someone else.
I had to make up my mind a long time ago
whether I wanted a stomach ache
or a rope around my neck.
Wasn't a very hard choice.
Funny thing, the real Albert Robinson had ulcer too.
No? Really?
It was in the autopsy report, we examined
before I took his identity.
Poor dull little American.
Dying in prison, so far away from home.
What do you suppose he was so worried about?
[instrumental music]
[music continues]
Mate.
Do you want a charm?
Albert..
Albert, you've got to try hanging on just a little while.
This is the final assignment.
Always the final one.
Like the revolution, never really final.
[music continues]
- Care for game, sir? - Uh, yes.
There.
[music continues]
[Tom] His name is Albert Robinson.
Had quite a chat.
Turns out that, uh, both went
to the same school in Redwood City.
Had the same math teacher, Miss Bennette.
Remarkable woman, Miss Bennette.
She was about, uh, oh, 22 when I was going to school there.
Robinson's at least 15 years older than I am.
Which would make her about seven when she was his teacher.
Maybe there were two Miss Bennette's.
Mm-mm.
No, I checked.
Albert Robinson did attend school there
straight A student, president of the chess club.
He, uh, opened the strand bookshop in August of 1966.
Coincidently that's the, uh, same month
that Kenneth Sager went to work for Pacific m*ssile.
Hmm.
Was this Lam able to tell you anything more?
Oh, he admits that Sager was his contact
but he says he never would've k*lled himself.
He wasn't that kind of a man.
Anything in the files of Robinson?
No, nothing locally.
I haven't heard from the bureau yet.
[phone ringing]
- Erskine. - Lewis.
We got your enquires about Kenneth Sager.
West Berlin Authority say that the special delivery letter
you mentioned was sent to inform Sager
that a Miss Lazzel Kline
had died in an East Berlin prison eight months ago.
And that she was a West German student who'd been detained
in the east when she went to visit her brother
'on Christmas day, 1965.'
- Was she a relative? - No. Fiance.
So, if she'd been held hostage
to ensure Sager's cooperation..
Well, I can see why he might have gone a little crazy
over news like this.
Art, he didn't k*ll himself.
The angle of penetration was entirely wrong
for a self-inflicted wound.
Paraffin tests on both hands were negative.
Oh?
Lewis, what about that chess charm he was holding?
We may have something on that.
We've located a man here called Albert Robinson.
Robinson? Yes, I've got something here.
Tom asked for a check.
The identification division just sent over a summary.
Yes, he has no arrest record
nothing at all derogatory in the files.
But there was an inquiry about him
from another government agency
so we checked back with them.
There's a San Diego woman
named Janet Sinclair, who's tryin' to locate him.
'The Robinson she's tryin' to find was born and raised'
in Redwood City, California.
Now, this might be interesting.
He was on a European chess tour when the w*r started
in 1939.
And he was in prison in Amsterdam
for anti-occupation activities by the Germans.
Would that be your man?
Could be.
Alright, he may be a m*rder*r, so it might be best
to hold off giving the Sinclair woman his address.
Too late for that, Lewis.
The man I talked to was gonna contact her this morning.
[instrumental music]
[music continues]
Yes, ma'am.
- Albert Robinson? - Yes.
Albert C. Robinson.
Yes?
Born in Redwood City?
Stayed at the home of Cornelius van Groot
'Hendrikstraat, Amsterdam, in 1939 and '40?'
Young lady, why are you asking all these questions?
'Are you the one?'
Yes.
I've been trying to find you for so long.
Young lady, I don't understand
why exactly have you been trying to find me?
Because you're my father.
[intense music]
[instrumental music]
The girl came by about 1:30. She's still there.
This is the description of the San Diego woman
who was asking about him. Does it fit?
Yes, sir.
[Tom] 'Lou.'
Got a message from the post office surveillance.
Somebody just phoned in asking for about a package
for E.K. Jackson, general delivery.
Alright, stay here, I want a complete report
on all the girl's activities from now on.
[instrumental music]
I never saw this woman in my life.
That's my mother, Henrietta.
Don't you remember, she was from Friesland
she bought it with the van Groot's.
Young lady, believe me, I realize how much
this probably means to you
'but I can't lie about it since it'll make you feel better.'
But there's nothing to be ashamed of.
She understood you couldn't marry her
until the w*r was over, the n*zi's were defeated.
I remember, she, she kept telling me
how you promised you'd come back for her
and take her to America with you.
Where is she now?
She died. I was four.
The van Groots sent me to an orphanage
and I was adopted by an American couple named Sinclair.
They told me to forget about you, that you were dead
but I wouldn't believe it.
Young lady, listen to me, this poor woman
made up the whole story.
I couldn't possible be your father.
I never saw your mother in my life
never, I swear it, I'm sorry.
She knew all about you, where you were born, the na--
Will you please stop tormenting yourself and me?
You never married. You have no family.
Not a soul, I wo..
The fact is, it's all a mistake.
I have no daughter, nothing has changed.
[dramatic music]
[dog whining]
[music continues]
[music continues]
Package for E.K. Jackson, please?
[music continues]
[music continues]
Here's your package.
Gee. Thanks, mister.
[music continues]
FBI, hold it.
[intense music]
[music continues]
Hold it.
That's it. Hands over your head.
[music continues]
'His name was Nicholas Rovash.'
He was a seaman on the freighter, Croatia.
[Arthur] 'Did you get any help from his embassy'
'or should I even ask?'
They claimed the body, that's about it.
I talked to Pacific Development this morning.
They've finished their final plans on the air-to-air m*ssile.
Now, they wanna know if Sager was the weak link
in their security, and if he was
whether or not he was the only one.
How long will they be able to keep those
drawings in the vault?
Less than a week.
Their engineers have to have a mark-up by the 20th.
Ask them to hold off as long as they can
will you, Ward?
I don't think Sager would've been eliminated
if he'd been the only spy in the plant.
Alright.
Anything new on Albert Robinson?
Not on Robinson himself.
I talked to the SAC, San Diego though
about this Sinclair woman.
Yes? What'd you find out?
She's 26, unmarried
born in Amsterdam during the German occupation.
Adopted by the Sinclair's after the w*r.
She listed her mother as dead, her father as missing.
Claims he's an American
named Albert Robinson.
Robinson, eh?
Well, well, well.
Might be a little inconvenient for Mr. Robinson
to have her turn up now, huh?
If he is our man, what do you think he'd do?
He's already done it. He turned her away.
Well, it might be the best thing all the way around
under the circumstances.
It might be.
What worries me is that she hasn't gone back to San Diego.
She's taken a room near the bookstore.
[instrumental music]
Check and mate. Sorry.
Better luck next time.
Come on, Shawn, come here.
Martin?
Martin!
- What is it? - Telephone.
- Is it, uh, Robinson? - Yes.
Hi, Albert.
The FBI was waiting at San Pedro.
I'm not surprised.
What happened to the man you sent?
Dead. He wouldn't have had a chance to say anything.
You know, Albert..
...I wonder if..
...I wonder if it wouldn't be smart to forget
about this Pacific Development business.
Just mark it down as a bad job and pull out.
Don't tempt me.
See, it's been a shaky one right from the start.
First Lam then Sager
then this wild-eyed girl showing up at your place.
Now, this mess at San Pedro.
You know that KGB's been grumbling
about all the slip ups.
Yes?
Well, you tell those espionage geniuses
to worry about their own slip ups.
Why didn't they know the real Robinson had a daughter.
Now, please, major, don't, just don't get excited.
You know, it's bad for your ulcer.
Life is bad for my ulcer.
KGB, dialectical materialism, home sickness
they're all bad for my ulcer.
And a young girl in need of a father
they're bad for my ulcer.
Say, Albert..
Albert, do you suppose..
Well, I mean there's no way in the world
this girl could be a counter agent, is there?
It had occurred to me.
It's too bad you couldn't have played
along with it for a while.
Until you know exactly what she wanted.
- Oh, she's gone now. - 'Suppose she comes back.'
I'll have to get rid of her.
I can't have her hanging around here, that's quite obvious.
I tell you, Martin, I wish I believed in prayer.
I'd pray for that girl.
Really I would.
[instrumental music]
I have to go now, Martin. I'll talk to you tonight.
I've spent 25 years looking for you.
And I'm not gonna be sent away now.
So..
...you might as well get used to it.
[music continues]
[theme music]
There's no sign of the girl since I called you.
I went in to have a game with Robinson
my old Redwood City buddy.
He said he wasn't feeling very well.
Asked if I could come back tomorrow.
And you couldn't spot the girl?
There's a kitchen in the back, she could've been back there.
I thought I heard some singing.
Oh, by the way, did you get in touch with SAC San Diego?
Yeah, I talked to him in the car radio.
He'd contacted the Sinclair family.
They think the girl's first foster mother
is in this country now.
A woman named, uh, van Groot.
She could identify Robinson, couldn't she?
If he was really Robinson.
We, uh, got a good laugh this time
about the old haunted house in Tarkington Street.
No haunted house?
No Tarkington Street.
[ship horn blaring]
Well, now what?
It's alright, Shawn.
[Janet humming]
[dramatic music]
[humming continues]
Hey, it just occurs to me I don't know what to call you.
What do you think? What would you prefer?
- Albert? - Anything you like.
Okay, then let's take the plunge.
All or nothing.
Daddy, what would you like in your coffee?
- 'Cream, sugar?' - Black.
[gasps]
That's what comes of paying a doctor for advice
and then not following it, it's an ulcer.
And I bet you've been eating and drinking like a maniac.
Chili, onion.
Well, from now on, it's milk, toast--
Janet, I'm not a baby.
Listen to me, I know what's best for you.
Sooner you give in to me, the better
because I'm more stubborn than you are.
After all, I knew you were my father, didn't I?
Yes, yes.
So..
Maybe you didn't like the idea of some stranger woman popping--
Oh, y-you're wrong.
I can't tell you how often I've longed for someone.
A family of my own.
Then why did you pretend not to remember my mother?
Perhaps, I didn't want to face the responsibility.
Oh, you don't have to worry about that.
I intend to take care of both of us.
Janet, would you get my pills for me.
They're on the window sill in the kitchen.
Well, you may not be important to you
but you're sure important to me.
[music continues]
Here you are.
No, this is my cup. I already drank from it.
Is that better?
Okay, don't talk to me.
Janet!
[screams]
Call Martin Eldon. He's a lawyer.
[grunting] T-tell him..
[screams]
[music continues]
Help me! Please!
He's terribly sick. He's said it was an ulcer.
Get an ambulance.
[Tom] 'This is Agent Colby from the FBI.'
'Connect me with the closest emergency hospital.'
[Janet sobbing]
Yes, I thought it was cyanide by the smell.
Alright, thank you very much.
Lou, the girl's here.
- Miss Sinclair. - Hello.
Thanks for coming by. Um, won't you sit down?
Thank you.
I don't know who told you my name was Sinclair, inspector
but they were wrong, it's Robinson.
Anyway, call me Janet, please.
How is he, by the way?
The doctor said they'll have to operate.
He's under sedation now.
Honestly, I couldn't have made it without you two.
It was a bad moment.
It was a miracle.
I mean, how lucky can I get.
Out of all the people in the world
who might have come walking by, here come two FBI men.
I still can't believe it.
Does Robinson know about us?
No, he was unconscious all the time.
Well, Janet, to be frank
it wasn't really an accident.
I don't think I understand.
Special Agent Colby has had you
under surveillance for some time.
But why?
Because we thought you might be in danger.
From what?
Janet, the last thing in the world I wanna do is hurt you.
But I'm afraid there's no other way.
Your father has probably been dead for at least 20 years.
My father is in St. Mathews Hospital right now.
We don't know who the man in St. Mathews is
but we're fairly sure he isn't Albert Robinson.
Your wrong, your wrong!
Would you come with us please?
Please.
- Mama van Groot! Oh! - My Janet!
Oh, it's amazing, you've grown so big.
Still my, Janet, ne? Oh.
I say so often, "Where is the little girl now?"
But where did you come from?
I'm now in America, three years in Phoenix, Arizona.
We asked her here to help identify Albert Robinson.
Did they tell you I found him, mama?
Wait till you see.
[machine whirring]
Was that the man who boarded with you
in the Hendrikstraat, Mrs. van Groot?
Well, Albert was not so broad.
He's put on weight.
Janet.
Long ago, I hear from a boy who was with him.
Albert is forlorn in the creek.
Dead from the w*r.
[instrumental music]
I wish I could be more certain.
I am certain in my heart.
But then..
...hearts say different things to different people.
Mrs. van Groot, um
would you be kind enough to wait outside please?
I'll see you there.
But if he isn't Albert Robinson, who is he?
We're still trying to find that out.
We believe he may be an enemy agent
using your father's name as a cover.
Janet, listen to me please.
You seem to have stumbled
into his personal life, whoever he is.
He tried to k*ll you today.
There was cyanide in the coffee he wanted you to drink.
This is ridiculous.
Those pills are for his stomach ulcer.
Excuse me, I'm going to the hospital.
Janet.
We can't stop you. We can't even protect you.
All we can do is tell you what we believe to be the truth.
And ask for a little time to prove it, one week.
Go to San Diego.
Write to him if you like, give him any excuse you want
but stay out of Los Angeles.
Will you do that?
[instrumental music]
[dramatic music]
[music continues]
[telephone ringing]
Hello.
Hello. Martin Eldon?
Yes.
Well, you don't know me, Mr. Eldon but..
'...my father, Albert Robinson'
'mentioned your name.'
Oh. Yes.
And I was wondering if you could help me.
Yes, I'm sure I can.
Mm-hmm.
[instrumental music]
[Tom] 'The g*n that k*lled Sager was ordered through the mail'
from a wholesale house in Montana.
It was sent to a Mr. E.K. Jackson
general delivery in San Pedro.
Had been registered, so, uh
he was required to sign for it.
And take a look at this.
Okay, have an agent take these to the lab
for handwriting comparison.
I'll be at St. Matthews Hospital.
[Tom] 'Colby.'
'Lou.'
'Yes, just a moment.'
The, uh, Janetson clear surveillance.
Yes, Barton?
Your hunch was right, inspector.
Girl got off the bus at the last minute
made a phone call, now she's waiting at the cab stand.
Okay, stay with her and notify Colby the moment she settles.
He'll know where to reach me.
Yes, sir.
[instrumental music]
[engine revving]
Listen, Martin, this is the stupidest thing
I've ever heard of. You can't do it here.
Look, Edith, if you're going to gag
or faint to throw a fit, just get out.
Go to a movie, go shopping, something.
Just quit bugging me, will you?
These orders come from a very high source.
I don't care if they come from Lennon's ghost.
They can't order you to foul your own nest.
She has to be k*lled, Edith
she could walk into any police station.
But you're not a butcher!
You're the one that'll gag and faint.
I may..
...but I'll still do the job.
I have to do it, Edith, because Albert can't.
Albert is all through. Do you understand that?
He is all through.
[telephone ringing]
Hello.
Martin, Albert.
Well, Albert.
'Albert, you know you gave all of us quite a scare.'
'How do you feel?'
You know where I am? What happened?
- Yes. The girl called. - Where is she?
Well, she's at the bookstore I thought.
No, no, I tried there.
Martin, I want you to help me out.
There's some coffee at the shop. I fixed it.
- You know, for Janet. - Yes?
I want you to throw it away before someone finds it.
Alright. Alright.
Now, Albert...you do know that
the girl's gonna have to be taken care of
sooner or later?
Certainly, I know that
but I'll handle that part myself, do you understand?
Tell them it's entirely up to me.
No one else. Entirely up to me.
Albert, please.
It's in your hands. Now don't upset yourself.
Well, I feel so helpless.
'There's nothing to worry about.'
Everything is on schedule here.
Our man is ready to make delivery
of the blueprints directly to me
soon as he comes off shift this afternoon.
That alright?
Alright, alright.
Well, I'm going to say goodbye now, Albert
but please, now don't upset yourself.
Goodbye. Martin?
[knock on door] No. Never mind, goodbye.
- Albert Robinson? - Yes.
My name's Erskine, Mr. Robinson. I'm with the FBI.
What would you want with me, Mr. Erskine?
Does the name Nicholas Rovash meaning anything to you?
I understand my rights, you know
I don't have to answer these questions.
No, you don't.
What about Kenneth Sager? E.K. Jackson?
Alright, that's enough. Would you please get out?
Lou?
[indistinct muttering]
Mr. Robison, why would Janet Sinclair
go to visit a man named Martin Eldon in Palos Verdes?
She went there?
My God, he'll k*ll her!
- She entered the house? - Yes, she did.
Tell Barton to interrupt.
Door to door salesman, anything
but don't let him move against Eldon
until he's sure the girl's out of danger.
Mr. Erskine, there isn't time.
Let me call him, keep him on the phone
till your man gets there.
Yeah, 5-4-0-3-5-9-9, please.
[dramatic music]
[man on radio] 'LA 12.'
LA 12. Go ahead.
'Regarding your traffic information request.'
'Sig-alert reports considerable freeway congestion'
'south of the ninth street turn off.'
Thank you. LA 12 clear.
Well, let's get off the freeway.
Albert, please, what is the matter with you?
I told you I understood about the coffee.
I-I don't know when I'll be able to get back there, Martin.
You'll have to see that the newspaper, the mail..
'Yes, yes. Now, please, please, I'll take care of everything.'
'Don't worry about it.'
What about Shawn? What's gonna happen to Shawn?
[intense music]
Albert..
[doorbell rings]
Uh, excuse me.
- Yes? - How do you do, ma'am?
I represent the inter state insurance company.
Oh, thank you. We already have plenty of insurance.
Oh, just a second.
Look, Albert, there's some kind of salesman at the door.
I'm going to have to go. I'm sorry.
[instrumental music]
We have a very attractive retirement plan here
which I'm sure you'd be interested in.
I'm sorry. Uh, I'm really not interested.
'Under this plan, you can receive benefits of up to'
'$400 a month at age 55.'
Of course, if you decide to postpone your retirement
'till age 60, then--'
I really don't want any more insurance.
Well, you won't believe this but
it's usually quiet as a tomb around here.
I'm terribly sorry.
Won't you, uh, just sit down?
Thank you.
I'm really sorry to barge in on you like this
but I, I absolutely didn't know where else to go.
Well, Miss Robinson, let me tell you something..
...the FBI is not infallible.
They can make mistakes too.
Is your husband at home?
You can't see my husband. He's very busy.
Or could I give him my card. Just take me a second.
Didn't you understand?
We don't want any more insurance.
[Martin] 'Look, I'll tell you what we'll do.'
'I've got a good idea.'
Why don't we go down to my office?
I can contact the Dutch ambassador down there.
I know him personally.
Oh, I hate to put you to so much trouble.
Oh, my dear, it's no trouble at all.
Come on, why don't we go out the back way?
[intense music]
Barton's still there.
[indistinct chatter]
It won't take long.
Hold it! Eldon, this is the FBI.
[g*nsh*t]
Stay right there, lady. FBI.
[intense music]
[instrumental music]
How is he?
He's under sedation. They'll take him to surgery now.
I never had a chance to thank you.
That's what we're here for.
I'm sorry I was so stubborn.
I still don't know what to make of him.
He didn't have to cooperate with you.
- No. - Strange man.
Janet?
