It's definitely not
the start of a season
that I was hoping to have.
We've got a lot
of gold to find.
Twenty nine
year old Parker Schnabel
is locked in a battle
for a $200,000,000
fortune in gold.
But his opponent,
the Dominion Creek claim,
is winning.
Dominion is a pain in the a*s
because we're
fighting a lot of frost.
We can't control the weather,
nor can we control the ground.
Six weeks
into the season,
he's found
just 290 ounces.
So right now,
basically, we have--
We don't have any
wash plants running uh...
makes me nervous
when we have no
plants making money.
Two weeks ago,
Parker made the call
to shut down his only
running wash plant, Roxanne,
in the long cut,
when the permafrost
made it too difficult to dig.
Now, after a warm
stretch of weather,
the crew's on the brink
of firing back up.
We've given
this ground
a little bit of time
to thaw out,
and it's looking
a lot better here.
We've got some thaw.
We've also got
ourselves a pay pile.
We've got a lot
of work ahead of us,
but we're finally heading
in the right direction.
In addition
to the long cut,
Parker is hedging his bets,
and opening up ground
in the bridge cut as well.
We also have
the bridge cut.
There's a lot of waste
still left in it.
And-- And frost.
The stripping crew
is in there trying
g to get it sorted out.
But by working both
these cuts at the same time,
Parker now faces
a new problem.
We can't start
sluicing it,
and we're behind
because we've got
a big project that's
like a really critical
part of the process.
You have to get the water
drained somehow.
So I've got people
trying to lower a drain
that cranks the bridge cut
with rocks in
so that the water
should flow out of the cut.
So we will see
Before wash plant,
Roxanne can fire up
and run pay
from the long cut
Parker's crew need to dig
the current ditch
fifteen feet deeper
from Roxanne's
tailings pond
Two miles downstream
along the edge
of the bridge cut
where his crew
is stripping ground
that's already thawing
into the ditch.
When Roxanne starts sluicing,
the deeper ditch should cope
with the added water
from the plant
and the meltwater
from the bridge cut
If it's not deep enough,
the extra water will
overwhelm the bridge cut,
flooding it
and shutting it down.
We're swinging
in tandem,
trying to get this ditch
lowered to the point
where Roxanne can fire up.
And we'll be back
to making money.
Plant boss
Tyson Lee
and operator
Kayden Potvin
are responsible for digging
the drainage ditch deeper.
We've got
a hell of a lot of material
to get through here.
It'll be
done someday.
What the
What the [bleep] is
going on with this thing?
Something's wrong
with the bucket.
This is about
the worst time
it could happen.
Hey, Kayden,
you got a copy of Kayden?
Hey, man,
what's going on?
I don't know what's up
with this thing,
but I'm just gonna go park it
and grab Jordan.
It does not seem
to be running right.
Yeah, it seems
pretty slow moving.
It sounds like [bleep] too.
You know, the 390
was pretty key to getting
that ditch down.
It's got the long reach,
it's got everything we need.
Hopefully Jordan
can get her fixed up soon.
We're sure
are in trouble here.
They say
she's got no power.
Yeah, well, she's not
running very good.
This thing's
high RPM is 1700,
and it has to maintain
that all the time.
It doesn't matter
how much load
you're putting on.
digging, swinging
at the same time.
Is supposed
to compensate the load
and keep
this motor at 1700.
But this thing
was dropping.
It's got no power,
so it's not pulling the bucket
through the ground very well.
So I suspect
it's got weak injectors,
so we'll have to put
a set of injectors in it.
There's always
a chance you're wrong.
And then you
spend the money,
it doesn't fix it.
But we get thrown
the curveballs
and we got to
deal with them.
The fuel
injectors deliver diesel
into the engine,
regulating how much fuel
enters the combustion chamber.
Jordan suspects
the 390 's injectors
are worn out,
reducing the flow of fuel
into the engine.
And power in the excavators
bucket arm.
I'm just
going to start doing
the injectors here,
so I'm just taking
this cover off.
So then...
So these are the old ones.
Jordan's
simple fix install new
fuel injectors
at a cost of $12,000.
There ain't nothing about
this racket that's cheap.
Big iron, big money.
No other plants running,
no money will be coming in.
And now
we got to spend
more money on this, so.
And I feel for them.
I feel for Parker.
When-- When sluicing
it has to cease
for the wrong reasons,
you know.
That's not good
for any of us.
Let's close her up.
Well, let's see
what she does.
Whoo haha!
She's pulling
I couldn't ask for more.
This thing
is gonna wail dirt.
Thank you
very much.
This thing runs awesome.
Whoo-hoo!
Tyson, you copy?
Go ahead.
Yeah, 390 is good to go.
Injectors are in.
And it's running good, so.
Come, take her away.
Put her to work.
- Thanks.
- Roger. Dodger.
It feels really good
to be back in the 390.
That's going to help us
lower our ditch
and get to our goals.
Unlike Parker,
the king of the Klondike,
Tony Beets
is on a winning streak.
Six weeks
into the season,
he's hauled in
over $3,000,000 in gold.
And is ready to do
something he rarely does.
Take a break.
To capitalize
on his hot start.
Tony wants to get
two more wash plants
up and running
this week.
The Indian River
Shaker deck,
and his
Paradise Hill trommel.
And he's looking
to the next generation
to make it happen.
Hey.
Oh, well.
It would be.
Yes.
Sounds like a plan.
Bye.
Tony has
left his kids in charge
in the past.
But not for this long,
and never without
his oldest son
and chief mechanic, Kevin,
to fix any
broken equipment.
Kevin's now running
his own claim.
Filling in for him
is cousin Mike.
Tony left,
and I want to show him
that I can do the job.
So I'm on the way
to Paradise Hill.
Me and Mike
work well together,
so I'm looking
forward to uh,
get this thing going.
And then after we'll get
the Shaker deck going,
the more plans
the better.
Hola, cousin.
Cousin.
- How's it going?
- How's it going? Good.
I can imagine you guys
are I'm pretty excited
to start sluicing, right?
Well,
we need to keep up
with you guys out
in the Indian River.
Well, you better
start going.
Today would be the best
to head out, have a look.
We'll get the distributor on
and get sluicing.
Sounds like a plan.
To get
Tony's trommel running
for the first time
this season,
the distributor box,
which delivers
the gold rich
material to the sluice,
needs to be reinstalled
after being removed
for maintenance.
If it's not flat,
we have to level it
because it's going
to be a nightmare.
Let's go have a look.
Low-- a little bit lower.
Well, it doesn't
need to be contact precise.
Because it's an inch
and three notches.
Yeah, we don't care
but one ends on three notches.
Uh, well, I think
I'll have to bring up
the back end, higher
What makes
you think that?
Because the angle of it,
the sluice front is not
sitting level anymore.
I think we should try
to get this sucker
as level as possible.
Mike thinks
the 15-foot-long
sluice runs have sunk.
Which would cause
gold rich material
to flow to one side,
clogging up the riffles.
Resulting in gold
being lost.
Mike wants to use
a 50-ton crane
to lift them up.
Insert wooden
blocks underneath.
Then lower
the sluice runs back
down to the correct level.
The crew
will then install
its 1.5 ton distributor box
that feeds them.
Ready to fire up
the trommels.
For the first time
this season.
I think uh,
this is wrong.
See, if you
measure here.
It's good.
No, it's too low.
This is all
a waste of time.
I think we should put
a distributor in place,
then I can go
to the Indian river
and get the
Shaker deck go
But this has got to come up,
and then it lines up.
I'm not wrong.
I [bleep] guarantee it
because otherwise
you're [bleep] around later.
I think we want
to get sluicing.
ASAP, as Tony
would say.
Hi!
It was leveled
last year,
that's why I'm saying
we have to lift it up.
I'm done
around.
Uh, it's not like
I wanted to [bleep] around.
But you know how it goes.
Yeah.
That's what,
that's also the thing.
You're getting frustrated.
So remember,
when you're frustrated,
you start doing
super mistakes.
I don't. I work very well
when I'm frustrated.
Just like my uncle.
I'm done
around with this.
I think it's bull
All right.
Let's-- Let's not
do the things.
This is why
I want to lift it up.
- Yeah.
- Because it's gonna be
more [bleep] around.
Then I'm gonna be doing
another [bleep] around
more and more
around
Stop [bleep] around
do the job right?
Okay, we'll lift
this thing up.
Get it level.
Well, we got to
get it done quick.
It's all slowing us down.
A real good assessment
is if you've got
two people leading
and they've
got different ideas
and they've
got to figure it out.
Either which way
it'd be nice
to get sluicing here.
In my [bleep] opinion,
those are two
grown a*s adults.
They can figure it out
themselves.
We should be
sluicing by now.
We've got
one plant going,
but we could have
had three plans going.
We should be
sluicing by now.
We've got one
plant going,
but we could have had
three plans going.
I am letting Mike know
if we're [bleep] around here,
then I will leave.
Then I'll go
to my own plant.
If we want to make it
to our 5000 ounce goal,
then we better hurry up
and get some plants going.
At Paradise Hill,
Tony's gone on
vacation for a week,
leaving his kids
and cousin Mike in charge.
He's frustrated
because he has other
he wants to do.
I get that.
I want to get this done, too.
But now he's being obstinate
with his frustration.
That pissed
me off.
Hook it around
the two centerpieces
around there
so that we have
an even lift.
It should slightly
level itself as I lift it,
and then all we have to do
is put blocks underneath it.
Watch your finger's?
That's good enough
for Tony Beets.
Put the blocks on there.
Okay. All good?
We'll go with that.
That's good.
Okay, now we're
putting the distributor on.
Yeah,
we're gonna hook up
the distributor box
and then lift it in place
and then see
if it all lines up.
If that works out,
we're in business.
Okay. Stay clear.
Have them lifted up.
Mike carefully
cranes in
the 1.5-ton
sluice distributor.
In between the trommel
and the sluice runs.
Slowly down,
like, very slowly,
Everything needs to line up perfectly
from the trommel
to the distributor,
to the sluices.
So that no washed
a pay dirt leaks out
and loses gold.
This thing
only has one speed.
So keep fingers
out of the way.
Just in case.
Fingers out
of the way, guys.
We're all clear.
It's a tight fit,
which might be a good thing.
It takes a bit
of brute force,
but as long as
we get her.
So we've got to move
the whole suit
a little bit to the left
for the lineup.
I'm happy with that.
It seems to line up.
So it's in place.
I think we should check
the level on the distributor.
Okay.
Well, that worked well.
Washing gold
ain't gonna work too well.
if most of it ends up
on the ground underneath it.
This is what happens
when you force her.
We're doing a lot
of [bleep] bending
around.
It puts
me behind
because I could also
be working on a shaker deck.
Well, go to the Indian,
go do that,
and then I'll do
the rest myself.
Whatever. I don't
care at this point.
So I'm gonna have
to get this [bleep] thing
completely shifted
and re-welded.
Getting this installed
right as fast as possible
is a must because
I want to get sluicing.
I may as well go and work
on my own plant, right?
So I did
what I have to do.
He can figure it out
from here.
Me and Mike.
We didn't quite agree
on everything
when there's two
persons in charge
and they each
have their own opinion
and there's no
decision made.
Then I think it's time
for one to leave.
In the bridge cut
there's a massive amount
of ditching that
needs to get done.
We've been
setback, so.
Finding as much gold
as we can is the goal.
With the gold on
Dominion Creek uncertain,
Parker's looking
to some ground
he knows very
well to save him.
Ken and Stuart
has always been
a pretty decent
moneymaker for us,
but it's very
cheap to mine.
Damien knows how
to keep things cheap.
And he was very
good at just kind
of being left alone.
Ten miles
southwest
at Ken Tatlow
and Stuart Schmidt's
ground
Over the years,
Parker has pulled out
$14,000,000 in gold.
But now,
on a tight budget,
and no crew to spare.
Parker sent mining veteran
Damien Browne
on a solo mission.
The plan is to get
this all stripped down to pay
and get this sluiced out.
Our percentile
was going to get
zero resources
when I was coming
down here at Ken's.
I mean, I literally
got zero resources,
but I expected
a little bit more.
Parker's
charged Damien with opening
an eight acre cut
and wants the final
three acres
of overburden removed
by the end of the week.
Damien's working
double duty,
he rips overburden
in the dozer and piles it up.
Then jumps
into an excavator
and feeds the waste
onto a conveyor
that carries it out of the cut
to a waste pile.
The conveyor,
it's so bloody efficient.
Every bedrock has gone
straight out of it.
Parker must have
some trust in me
to leave me down here
by myself.
Originally, I came up
with my wife to the Yukon,
and both of us were
working here at Parkers.
We had a baby
a few years ago,
and she obviously
can't work now,
so it's a lot different
being up here by myself.
So in the winter times,
I generally
just go back to Ireland
and spend it with my family
and farm and enjoy it.
My aim is to get
my own ground
and mine it someday.
When you see raw gold
right in front of you,
it's an incredible feeling.
What the
is going on?
What [bleep] going on.
The feeder hoppers
out stopping
this shaft
should be rotating.
There's a drive motor
on the other side,
Um, it's not
rotating at the minute.
Bill if you
got a copy, Bill?
Go for Bill.
Hey, Bill, is there any chance
you could come down here
at Ken and Stuart's?
Um, this conveyor
is after stopping.
I can't seem to find out
what's wrong with it.
I'm gonna
have to say no.
We are swamped here
at Dominion.
It'll be probably tomorrow
before I can get down there.
Okay. Ten, four
if you uh, yeah sure.
If you can come down
as soon as you can.
That would be great.
I mean, I don't know
what I'm gonna do.
I'm just gonna have to jump
on a bloody rock truck
and start self-loading.
Damien has
no choice
but to truck the overburden
out of the cut.
It's going
super bloody
slow here by myself.
But we'll have to just
keep going until
the conveyor gets going.
One of these days
hopefully I might
get a little bit more help--
What the
Something doesn't
feel right.
Uh, for [bleep] sake.
That's just what I need.
Thats
all my plans now.
I have no people.
There's
nobody around.
All I have is one truck
and a hoe to self-load
all this material out.
You can't move
the rock truck
the way it is.
The conveyor is down.
I can do nothing.
I have to go get Bill.
And try and get some help.
I'm at a complete
standstill.
We need to get
everything up and running.
At Ken
and Stuart's
Parkers tasked Damien
with stripping three acres
by the end of the week.
But 24 hours in,
Damien's conveyor
is still broken.
His truck's tire
is still flat.
And there's still no help.
He needs a miracle.
Do you know
anybody looking
for a rock truck tire.
Or two mechanics.
And cavalry
has arrived.
Holy [bleep] I never
thought I'd see today.
Whoo!
Good morning, my friend.
Thank you, Bill.
Liam, we're not
jacking this.
Let's just put
the forks in here.
Just pick the machine up,
put a stand under it,
and way we go.
Absolutely.
To remove
the flat tire.
Mechanics Bill Horton
and Liam Pukila
first need to raise
the 45-ton
rock truck
off the ground.
I want to really make sure
I get under this, so.
Careful, Bill.
It's slipping off this side.
Just stop.
I don't really like that.
It's not going to be safe.
Have you
got a shackle that
we can put on the front?
and I can lift it
with the excavator.
And we can have
that as a support.
Absolutely.
Let's do that.
That's a good call.
There we go.
Perfect.
Little more, Damien.
Good.
There we go.
We got it.
So, just want to make this
as safe as possible.
We got it.
Let's get these
wheel nuts off
and get this tire off.
Yeah.
You can go around
that shaft, I don't think
you're gonna hurt it.
Okay, Liam, back up
a touch.
Good job, boys.
It's off.
So now it's just a case
of getting this everyone
on and secured.
Whoa, whoa, Yeah,
Down a little bit, Liam.
It should be all
lined up now.
- It should be
- Okay.
Look at that, Damien.
Nice job, buddy.
Good to go.
Thank you, Bill.
Thank you, Liam.
There's so much dirt
to move ahead of me.
So now I'm just gonna
get back self-loading
here now
and get down the bay.
Now, Bill and Liam
turned their attention
to Damien's conveyor.
I've got to figure out
what's going on here.
Well, I'm thinking--
thinking it might be
this cupl-- Oh, yeah.
Coupler is split.
So must have been too much
torque on the chain.
We'll have to get
this coupler out.
Okay, so...
Wow.
That's supposed
to be a circle.
You see
how it's splitted.
So now I got the other
half to take out.
Oh, yeah,
so you can see here.
It sheared the bolts
off two of them.
Split this piece of collar,
so-- So that's no good.
The conveyors,
coupler and collar,
which helps rotate
the drive shaft,
and move the belt
is broken.
It needs replacing.
This is our
new coupler.
So we're gonna fire
this in there.
Fits there nice.
Look at that.
Do you want to tighten
these bolts for me?
All right. We're good to go.
Damien?
We're ready
to fire this thing up.
All right, Damien,
you're on
Okay,
let's do it.
There it is.
Couplers doing its job
the way it's supposed to.
This thing's ready
to go to work.
Thank you. I can't explain
how much I am so grateful
for this.
Thank you so much.
With both fixes completed,
Damien can now speed up
stripping overburden
and get Parker
back on the gold.
It's amazing.
It's incredible.
There's no time to wait.
So yeah, the sooner
we can get it off,
the sooner we get to pay
and start sluicing, get money.
This plant has been down
for quite a while now
because we have
moved the wash plant.
There was some damages
while we moved
the conveyor belt
and the feeder around.
I welded those
and put the rest
of the shaker deck together.
But we're ready.
I hope she does the job,
but we will only find out
when there's dirt in there
and when she's running.
At Tony Beets'
Indian River claim,
Cousin Mike is back,
trying to get the shaker deck
ready to fire up.
Tony wants it running
alongside Sluice-A-Lot
in the comeback cut
by the time he returns
from vacation
in two days' time.
Okay,
let's fire this plant up.
Good?
- Yeah.
- Open it up.
No, that's good.
Seems to be running good now.
The dirt is sliding
into the shaker deck,
so that's good.
Yeah, absolutely.
I think Tony
will be pretty happy
that we have another plant
up and going.
Yeah, for sure.
Hope we see
some gold in the box.
Sluice-A-Lot
and the shaker deck
are now both catching gold.
But Tony asked
for three plants
to be running by his return.
And 40 miles north,
at Paradise Hill,
Mike's struggling
to fire up the trommel.
I really, really want
to get sluicing
before my dad shows back up.
It is my goal, and I will work
damn hard to get it done.
But we'll do that after we get
the chute in line
and ready to go.
There's a gap
between the chutes
that connect
the sluice box's distributor
with the trommel.
Yeah. Be very careful.
- Hello, Len.
- What's going on, Mike?
Uh...
Well, we're putting
the distributor back in.
My cousin Mike
jammed it in there,
but he was frustrated,
'cause he has his own projects
he wants to get done.
But as you can see,
the chute don't line up.
So we have to re-line
the chute a little bit
and do a lot of
welding so that lines up.
All right.
Let's see how it goes.
Can you take that chain,
wrap it around closer on
to the front here?
Okay, that's good.
Now lift up slowly.
Make sure there's no bulk
underneath that one,
because it's got to
come down a couple inches.
Okay, bring those
- Is it all the way across?
- Yeah, it's across.
Let her down.
Okay.
Take them off.
Okay.
Now I just need
my welder to fabricate,
and it'll be all good.
Everything's going good.
Distributor's on.
Runs are put in place.
The next step
is getting the pump going,
and we should
be able to sluice.
We're making progress.
Mike heads to the pump,
which feeds water
from the Hunker Creek
to the trommel
and washes the pay dirt.
For now, we just want
to get it running.
So let's just
start this [bleep].
But before he starts sluicing,
he needs to power up
the pump's engine.
Ooh, that's not a good sign.
Yeah, not enough juice.
I was hoping
she'd [bleep] catch,
but she's just struggling.
Yeah,
we're stopping there.
I think the battery's dead.
this.
I'm sick and tired
of constant delays.
I just want to get sluicing.
Now the plant is running.
It's looking good.
That always gives me
a good feeling.
At the comeback cut
in Indian River,
Cousin Mike's shaker deck
is running
alongside Sluice-A-Lot,
keeping Tony's
on track.
That's Tony.
Going all right.
We're finally washing rocks.
Yeah.
Uh, hooking this up to my...
pump
to give it a boost.
And once this is done,
I am close
to getting sluicing.
At Paradise Hill,
son Mike is
still troubleshooting
the trommel's
broken water pump
and still isn't sluicing.
Let's see what happens.
Mike. Do you copy, Mike?
Yep.
Hey, Tony's back.
Ah, [bleep].
I'll be there
in about five minutes.
I'm gonna go see my dad.
This is really pissing me off.
I keep running into
small [bleep] problems.
Hey.
I'll just show you.
Uh...
Well...
So...
I, uh...
We got
the distributor in place.
The sluice box re-leveled.
We got our chute re-welded.
Uh, no, because, frankly...
I'm having a lot of issues
with the pump.
[bleep]!
Nothing going right
these days.
Whoa.
The Grand Canyon.
They're done digging my ditch.
This is looking good.
They've done an amazing job.
But at the end of the day,
we're in a big rush.
We're behind, and we're gonna
see if we can get some
gold coming in.
After a week's
worth of digging,
Parker's two-mile-long,
34-foot-deep mega-ditch
is done.
Well, right now,
we are ready to get
Roxanne back rolling.
And it feels so good here
to be sending water
back down our ditch.
And I see Parker's
pulling in right now,
so I think
he's gonna be pretty excited
to see this plant running.
Hey, man, how's it going?
What's up, man?
We got
a big old pile of pay dirt.
What do we think we get
these belts spinning
and get after it?
- Thanks, Mitch.
- All right.
We are ready to sluice.
We got a mountain of pay.
Let's get it.
Turn some water on.
All right, all right.
Let's do it.
Well, we are
finally fired back up.
This is the first scoop
going back in
after this long shutdown here.
It feels like the season
is really about to start.
We have a big
pile of pay.
It feels like this is it.
Now we got
the sun shining.
It's warm.
This is sluicing weather.
Let's get it.
With Roxanne sluicing...
time to check if the ditch can
cope with the extra water.
The ditch
seems to be working.
The water is
flowing downstream.
Yeah, it's nice to
finally see some water
flowing down this ditch.
Man, that was
a long time to have
a wash plant shut down.
Yeah, we're late
to the game here.
So what do you say we try
and keep her running
until we pack our bags
and go home?
Man, I think that's
what we need to do here.
You know,
Parker wants 10,000 ounces.
That's gonna require
a lot of sluicing.
Let's do it.
... That's the end
of the day.
It's quite tough being here
on your own all the time,
but it's one part of the day
I really enjoy, is coming
down here to the water
and just enjoying
a nice cup of tea.
I mean, it sucks
that I don't have any help,
but it's just
so peaceful down here.
A cup of tea.
Cheers.
There really is nothing
like a bit of peace and quiet.
After a week,
Damien is nearing the end
of his stripping operation
at Ken and Stuart's.
- What's up, man?
- Howdy, buddy.
How are you?
- I'm bloody good.
- Good.
God, you've moved a lot
of dirt by yourself, Damien.
- Yeah.
- It's pretty impressive.
Getting pretty tired.
- I bet.
I bet.
How are you
feeling about it all?
Feeling pretty positive.
For all I know, this has been
incredibly frustrating
for you, and you
don't want to...
- Eh.
- ...do it anymore.
Eh.
I don't have
a ticket booked yet,
but it crossed my mind.
I just don't want you and I
to have a falling out
over any of this,
and I know that
there's the potential for that
because of the lack of support
you've gotten.
I got Bill and Liam
down here the other day
when I needed help,
and that's what matters.
It really is impressive.
All right, Damien.
Thanks, man.
- Hey, hey.
- How's it going?
- Pretty good.
How are you guys?
- What's up?
Not much. You, man?
- Just living the dream.
- Oh, yeah.
Nearly a third
of the way through the season,
and only one plant running,
Parker's crew have banked just
290 ounces.
So how was
your boys' week?
Yeah, it was rough.
Then Damien there, he had
a pretty rough week, too.
Conveyor went down,
gets a flat tire.
Everybody's busy up here.
It's like, "Sorry."
I told him
when he went down there,
like, "You're not gonna
get any support."
I even underestimated myself
in that sense...
...of what
that meant.
Sorry for the delay
on Roxanne.
- Did we find any gold?
- Well, we did.
After two days' run time,
Parker is hoping
the long cut will deliver
at least 100 ounces.
All right, here we go.
[bleep].
Worth $190,000.
It gives us a season total of
- We did that in a clean-up.
- Yeah, I was just gonna say,
that's a [bleep] clean-up.
All right. Well, that sucks.
Eventually that ground
has got to give up.
It doesn't have
to do anything.
If we want
to come back next year,
it's got to.
Something's got to happen.
I think it's weeks like this
that definitely make you
appreciate the good ones.
Yeah. Yeah.
Let's just hope it's the week
and not the season.
Yeah.
Well, do what you guys
can do, fellas,
and I'll clean it.
- All right. Later.
- See you, fellas.
Thanks, Chris.
You're all good with that?
Yep, I'm all good.
Thanks, young man.
Hey, guys.
Hi.
So, how was
your guys' holiday?
Excellent. It was really nice.
So, how did you do
on the hill?
Uh...
Me and Mike leveled the box,
got the distributor in.
I got my guys
to hook up the chutes.
Then going down to the pump,
it wouldn't start.
So, in other words,
you didn't sluice?
No, not yet.
Well, there's
always something, it seems.
Yeah, I was there.
It took a little bit longer
than we hoped.
Ran into a bunch of issues.
I watched you guys...
not talk to each other
in the sluice box.
And then I went...
"Not my children."
I know how frustrating
it is when you want to
get to your project
- but you have to help
somebody else with theirs.
- Yeah.
I like
hanging out with Mike,
and I like getting
done with Mike,
but he wanted
to do his [bleep].
It was time for him to go.
It's good. So, we got
a little bit of gold,
at least, out of that plant.
Yep.
Cousin Mike
is now washing dirt
with two plants
at Indian River.
I would like it
if you guys could
weigh up some stuff.
To reach
his 5,000-ounce goal,
Tony needs to average
First up, the shaker deck,
which ran for two days.
Let's see how it did.
Okay. 5,
Worth almost $200,000.
Nope.
It is a worthy effort.
Next,
Sluice-A-Lot,
which ran all week.
Ready?
Worth over $690,000,
bringing Tony's season total
to 1,607 ounces.
Nope. I could have
a couple weeks like that.
Yeah. And then Mike
gets his trommel going.
- Can see some real gold
happening soon.
- Yeah.
We'll see. Last thing
you want to do is
count the silverites.
- Can I go?
- Si.
All right.
Pitter-patter,
let's get at 'er.
No, that one's mine.
