[dramatic music]

-[clicks g*n] -Tell me where my kids are.

[shouting] I don't care about being a hero.

I care about getting my family back.

I want my family back.

You are not going to call the police

and Gary is not going to call the police.

You left me in the desert to die.

-[shouting] Hey, stop it, John! -[g*nshots]

Val?

[huffs, shouts]

Get out! Get out!

[shouting] Get out! Get out!

You tried to k*ll me! No.

[theme music plays]

[music continues]

[music continues]

[narrator] Previously, on Knots Landing...

Val tried to commit suicide.

Tried to? You mean she's not...

-How is she, Gary? -Unconscious.

[intense dramatic music]

[Jill] You put me through an awful lot of trouble.

What are you going to tell them?

-I suppose you're surprised to-- -Manny, I want my kids.

Where are they?

And nobody's k*lling nobody, alright?

You don't think your uncle Manny is going to let Paige

and Michael back in the state, do you?

-He'll keep his word. -[shouting] Come on, Harold.

[shouting] He'll keep his word!

Manny, no! Please, Manny.

[dramatic music plays]

[g*nsh*t]

[shouting] Where are my children?

[rain splattering]

[thunder rumbling]

[knocks on door]

I didn't think you'd be here so late.

I just came by for the booking slips.

Oh well, I...

I just had some work to clear up.

Why do you need the booking slips?

There's a little trouble down at the marina.

What do you mean, trouble?

I'm Mrs. Howell and I was out walking my dog.

He's old and a little incontinent.

And I saw these men at the dock.

They were acting very strangely.

Now it's after midnight

and they were unloading all the--

Oh, that's the Vasquez yacht.

Mr. Vasquez is having a big party in town

and he likes to bring in his own food.

Crafts, you know, that sort of thing.

-But it's so late. -[chuckling] I know.

He's a nut about freshness

you know seafood.

I really appreciate your concern.

Thank you very much.

[Cole] I still think I'll run down and take a look.

Cole.

They're regular customers and I really don't find

anything strange about this.

I'd like you to not bother.

You can walk Mrs. Howell back to her cabin, though.

-Goodnight. -Goodnight.

Karen, it's raining.

[panting] They stopped unloading.

[dramatic music plays]

[Karen shouting] Wait! Wait!

[shouting] Wait!

You can't leave.

-Lady, it's raining. -Then you gotta call him.

Tell him you cannot go before morning.

Tell him to extend the deadline.

He's got my family. You got to call him.

I don't call Manny. Manny calls me.

[Harold] Manny, I didn't mean to k*ll you.

-Harold, you gotta go. -Manny?

I didn't mean...

I gotta think.

[mumbles]

[eerie music]

Come on, you gotta...

A money belt.

You gotta help me. You gotta help me.

Leave Chavez's body and his.

But when they come looking for Manny

they'll think he k*lled him.

[grunting] It took off.

-It won't work for you. -Come on.

You gotta help me.

-Harold! -I don't work for you.

[dramatic music playing]

Let me tell you something, kid.

When you shot Manny, you made your choice.

[door slams]

Tell me where my kids are.

[g*n clicks]

[engine revving]

I don't think we're going to make it, Mack.

Yeah, we're going to make it. We have time.

If I was supposed to k*ll someone

I'd want to have that confirmed, that Manny can't call.

We have time.

There's light outside.

Well, goody.

[sighs]

He can't keep us in here forever.

At some point they have to tell us why we're here.

I'm sure they're very concerned about our feelings.

In fact, I bet they're there right now

wondering if we need some fresh blankets

or some down pillows.

If it's a problem for you, I'll k*ll him.

Manny hasn't called yet.

He didn't say he'd call.

He said k*ll him if he didn't call.

You probably don't understand anything.

I'm making breakfast.

We wait till after breakfast.

I'll have a beef burrito this time.

Not dog or cat or...

Whatever is in that last one.

-[g*n clicks] -Yeah.

[suspenseful music plays]

[Mack speaks in foreign language] Come on.

Now let's go, pally.

Muchas gracias.

Here you go. Here you go.

That's it. That's fine. No, no. Forget it.

Don't worry. Thank you.

Gracias. Gracias.

[engine revving]

Here's breakfast.

You don't get a call for you,

soon there's going to be no lunch.

Why is that? Hey, wait a second.

Hey, where are you going with that drama?

No hot sauce.

Good one, Paige, real good.

He's threatening to k*ll us and you're joking?

Great.

What would you like me to do?

Hit him over the head with a lamp?

Do you know how hard it is to knock somebody out

by hitting him over the head?

It's practically impossible.

Do it on TV, not in real life.

Or maybe you'd like me to seduce him.

I mean, all he has to do is r*pe me at gunpoint.

Why don't you tell me? Tell me.

Okay, Paige, I will tell you.

How about trying to act like a real, normal person

for just once?

This might be your last chance.

Aren't you worried they might find

your dead body without any fresh makeup on it?

[fly buzzing]

Busy.

That's it.

[knocks on door]

¿Quién es?

[Johnny] It's Johnny Rourke.

You fellas are nervous, are you?

What you doing here?

Manny sent me.

He didn't call.

[chuckles]

Well, maybe he doesn't trust you.

You sleazy pig. You son of a...

You left me in the desert to die, didn't you?

Hey, stop it, Johnny.

[g*nshots]

[chuckles] That's effective.

Outside.

-I said outside. -I'm out!

Why are you doing this, Johnny?

Get in the car. Stay in there, will you?

-Put your hands right there. -Ow, you're hurting me.

-Stop it. -I'll take care of the woman.

Hey, Jack, will you put that g*n away, huh?

The last thing Manny wants is two American tourists

with b*llet holes in the backs of their heads.

Wants it to look like an accident.

Like a couple of gringos

didn't know how to drive in Mexico.

Get in the car.

Ow!

[telephone ringing]

-I'll get it. -No, no. Hector. Hector.

Tie his feet, will you?

We know what that call's about anyway.

Now, don't be boys and girls.

[telephone ringing]

Yeah, cowboy.

[telephone ringing]

[Paige] Johnny.

We'll have someone pay you anything you want

if you let us go.

You're your own worst enemy.

[intense dramatic music]

Hey, pest!

[g*nshots]

Put your heads down!

[g*nshots]

[engine sputtering]

-[grunts] -Alright.

[chuckles]

-The distributor cap? Oh! -[Johnny laughing]

I thought I was dead. I can't believe this.

-You can thank me now. -Thank you, Johnny.

-Thank you. -Thank you?

You're the one who got us into this mess.

I've saved your life.

Untie me.

Say, "Please."

Untie me.

Not until you learn some manners.

-Yeah, but we thought... -I don't want excuses.

Listen, don't let them leave the country.

I think he'll let them go.

Don't you?

I hope so.

They'll be finished unloading the boat

about 10:00.

He said he'd let everybody go if we let the boat unload.

We couldn't help the rain.

He said he would.

He gave me his word.

Karen, I don't want to upset you

but I don't think you should rely on his word.

[shouting] I'm not an idiot.

What...

I-it would mean nothing.

He wouldn't gain anything by k*lling him.

-He wouldn't gain anything. -Karen.

There are people in this world who have no conscience.

They don't think they're bad people.

They're just practical.

They do what they do because they think

it's good business.

They never think about the consequences.

Manny just thinks he's doing business.

[sighs, scoffs]

I understand the mentality, Karen.

[melancholic music plays]

[whispering] You're not a gangster.

Maybe a "gangsterette."

Not a gangster.

No.

But I was so selfish and self-centered

that it took my daughter trying to k*ll herself

before I realized that there was anything wrong

with that kind of thinking.

Mom ran Harold off.

I felt so desperate. I was just left out.

I'm so alone.

I just didn't think I had any reason to live.

Oh...

[female voice] Dr. McBride.

Dr. Kailyn McBride...

-Jill? -Yes?

Do you think that Val got the idea from me?

Do you think that she tried to k*ll herself

because I did?

Olivia, don't be ridiculous, sweetheart.

It's not your fault.

I mean, you can't make someone commit suicide.

[EKG machine beeping]

[Val moans]

[instrumental music plays]

[muttering] Gary?

How you doing, kid?

I never thought I'd see you again.

You can't get rid of me that easily.

[knocks on door]

[Olivia] Val?

[dramatic music plays]

[huffs, shouts]

[shouting] Get out! Get out! Get out!

You tried to k*ll me! No. Get her out!

No! Get out of here.

[shouting] Get out of here. She tried to k*ll me!

-Get a doctor. -[shouting] She's a m*rder*r!

Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame.

[indistinct shouting]

[Olivia] She's screaming.

We need a doctor.

[Val shouting] Get out!

[Val shouting] She's a m*rder*r!

[Val] No, Gary, don't let them do this, please.

[Gary] It's just a sedative to relax you.

I don't want to relax. Where is she?

Where is she? No.

No. Where are my kids? Are they alright?

Yeah. Val. Val. They're fine. They're at the Williamses.

Doctor, I need to talk to you now.

Gary, Don't go. Don't leave me.

Honey, I'll be right back.

Don't go, Gary. I need you here. No.

-Where did Jill go? Where... -She's gone.

She took an overdose of pills.

Why are you giving her sedatives?

We have to keep those IVs

and the sedative won't hurt her.

Yes, but she's hallucinating.

The psychiatrist will evaluate her

when she's calmed down.

Gary, she really wants to see you.

[muttering] Okay.

-I'll be right back -Yeah.

[Olivia sighs]

-I can't believe this. -Hello.

Hi.

-Hi. -Hello.

Gary.

Gary, you've gotta listen to me

because I'm telling you the truth.

She thinks I tried to k*ll her. I mean, she's insane.

She's... insane, Gary.

She was wearing a wig and the... The...

Those rubber gloves. And she had a g*n.

And she threatened to k*ll our children.

But I couldn't yell out and I couldn't scream

because... Because of the kids.

What would have possessed her

to do with the kids in the house?

Bobby and Betsy know what happened?

Oh, no, no.

We told them that their mother was sick

and that she just needed some rest.

Frank and the little girl, Julie

came over when she was there, but she hid from them.

But I couldn't let them in

because I didn't want her to k*ll them too.

She was supposed to come to our house to watch TV

but she said one of the kids was sick.

I certainly wish she had gone over

and none of this would have happened.

And then...

She held the g*n to my head.

[water gurgling]

And pried my mouth open... No...

And forced the pills down my throat.

I forgot she even had sleeping pills in the house.

But she told me that she wasn't even going to take them.

The doctor prescribed these sleeping pills

because she was losing sleep, you know, worrying about Ben.

She must have been shocked when she found out Ben was dead.

Ben didn't write me those letters or phone me.

It was Jill. Jill did it all.

[suspenseful music plays]

No, honey.

-What happened to you was awful. -But you do believe me?

But, honey, you took an awful lot of pills

and you've had some kind of nightmare or--

No. No. No.

Nothing's gonna happen to you now.

-You're safe. -No, I'm not safe, Gary.

You don't know.

She kept...

She kept saying "Poor Val" all the time.

-Poor Val. -Poor Val.

It's eleven o'clock, Karen.

I know it's 11:00.

I've watched every second tick away.

I used to stare at the clock...

My teacher's clock in the second grade

waiting for the recess bell.

She always used to say you couldn't see

the big hand move.

[sighs] Well, I've seen it move.

It moves too fast.

I think it's time we call the police or the FBI.

-No. -Karen.

I have to hear from someone.

Karen, the boat is unloaded. The men are still on there.

If we act now, we can tie them to the drugs.

Do you think I care about the drugs right now?

Do you want me to do something noble?

[shouting] I don't care about being a hero.

I care about getting my family back.

I want my family back!

You are not gonna call the police

and Gary is not gonna call the police

and I am not.

Have you contacted the local authorities?

-No. -They could be in on this.

I suggest you contact the local authorities.

She just said she can't.

Senator Sumner wouldn't be here

if this were a legitimate complaint.

That's ex-Senator Sumner, which makes him Mr. Sumner.

But I can assure you we treat

every citizen's concerns equally.

Now according to all of you, whatever drugs were here

if they were here, are gone, and I strongly suspect--

They threatened to k*ll my family.

And I strongly suspect, Mrs. Mackenzie

that you haven't heard from your son

because he's scuba diving off the coast of Merida.

Now, I will be happy to call the American Embassy

about your relatives

unless, of course, you think that the ambassador

is in on this conspiracy too.

Thank you for your time.

I'm sure you'll be hearing from your son shortly.

[suspenseful music plays]

[drawer thuds]

[Mack] Paige.

They've got to be around here somewhere.

[Paige] Oh my God, it's so hot back here.

Let me out.

-[Paige] I'm dying! -As a favor to you, Michael.

Oh, wait, wait, wait. I haven't heard the magic word.

Oh, I'm gonna k*ll you.

No, that's not them.

I want to lock you in a cage

and let rats eat away at your eyeballs

while I inject hot boiling oil into your veins.

-Yeah. You better let her go. -[Johnny laughs]

Come here, lass.

Ow.

Ow!

That's it! That's it.

You just get me to the nearest consulate.

-Can't do that, lass. -Hey, wait a second, Johnny.

-We gotta get home. -Michael.

Manny worked for the government, the US government,

shipping arms and sergeants.

He had connections with the NSC, the CIA, the DEA,

all those three-lettered agencies.

There's no way his people are gonna let you get out

of Mexico.

They're gonna be watching the train stations,

bus stations, the border.

Now what we have to do is ditch this car

and figure out a way to hide out for a while.

Although I appreciate

the theatricality of your solution

I think that if we get to the embassy and get--

[g*nshots]

Go, go, go!

[g*nshots]

[dramatic music plays]

[Michael] Let's go.

[music continues]

Frank found this note from Val to me.

I thought you'd want to hear it.

Gary, if it's more accusations against me

I just as soon skip it.

No.

She says, "Gary, darling, I hope you and Jill

will be very happy."

Well, now I'm completely confused.

Well, she didn't have this dream

or nightmare, hallucination, or whatever the hell it was

until after she took the bottle of pills.

I thought you'd like to know that.

God.

Thank you for telling me that.

You know, everybody's been looking at me so strangely

I'm beginning to feel a little paranoid.

I think everyone is generally concerned

about how you're feeling.

That's a nice interpretation. Thank you.

Thank you for reading me the note.

Yeah.

[crickets chirping]

-Honey? -Huh?

You know what's really ironic about Val's accusations?

What?

Well, you said that the night that you were over there

she was acting like somebody had a g*n to her head.

She was.

But it could have been the pills.

Maybe she had already taken them.

No, no, Lorazepam hydrochloride

is a sedative, honey.

It wouldn't have made Val nervous.

It would've made calm.

Maybe she hadn't taken the pills

but she was going to, so she was nervous.

"Lorazepam hydrochloride."

Does that kind of medicine cause hallucinations?

Not usually.

Here, it does list hallucinations

under rare occurrences

but it's so far down on the list it's practically meaningless.

Who are you calling?

The police.

[telephone ringing]

Hello?

-Mack! -Karen.

-[Karen] Are you safe? -Yeah, you right?

Oh, thank God. Thank God.

Have you heard from anyone?

-[Karen] No. -Any Manny's people?

No.

-Have they let the kids go? -I don't know yet.

Listen, Manny's dead.

[indistinct chatter]

Mack, Mack, come here.

These guys are talking about three gringos.

Came in and trying to hire some guy to smuggle...

It's okay. Sit down, sit down.

Sit down.

[man] I have one client I smuggle out twice a month.

You see, he has a great job in Van Nuys

but he has two wives. [laughs]

One on each side of the border.

I make much money from this man.

[Paige] Ow!

[man] Be careful of your ankles.

[Michael] Have you ever been caught?

[man] I'm very good.

This is a safe spot.

The Border Patrol can't afford to come here.

Too many rocks. It hurts the tires.

[wolf howling]

-[child] Gracias. -[man] De nada.

[pants]

The road is this way. Come on.

Well, now what?

The road is up there.

A truck will come pick you up and take you

to a small town outside of San Diego.

Do you think the three of us could walk?

You know, we're Americans

so it doesn't really matter if we get--

It's too far, maybe, 30 miles to the Interstate.

It's best to ride.

Turn off your lanterns.

[man speaking in foreign language]

It's cold.

No fires. I'm sorry.

A truck will come and pick you up soon.

[man speaking in foreign language]

[man 2] Gracias.

[Karen crying]

-Karen. -Did you hear from Mack?

[crying] They're safe. Oh, God.

[laughing] They're safe.

Oh, Gary.

They're being smuggled to San Diego

and Mack's gonna meet them at the drop-off point.

[cries]

I didn't think I was gonna cry when it was over.

Oh, God.

How's Val? Now I can see her.

She's a little shaky.

[cries]

[door opens]

[Karen moans]

-[whispering] Hi. -Hi.

Well.

You look good.

I look terrible and you know it.

Oh, that's because they steal makeup here.

That's why I stay up nights, because when you fall asleep

someone comes in and takes things.

I keep my stuff here so nobody knows where it is.

-One night, I-- -[Val] Sheila...

Would you mind if we had a little privacy?

Well, I was going to take a walk.

I love it.

[door closes]

They have me in a psycho ward.

I'm so sorry about Ben.

-Why didn't you call me? -Karen.

No one will believe me, but I didn't.

I swear. I didn't try to k*ll myself.

[knocks on door, door opens]

Excuse me, Ms. Gibson.

A detective is here to discuss the complaint.

Oh, good.

-Hi, I'm Detective Duling. -How do you do? Valene Gibson.

-I'm Karen McKenzie. Hi. -How do you do?

I understand you want to file an as*ault charge.

Yeah... Yes I do.

[whispering] Okay.

[whispering] Just a second here.

Why don't you give me the details of the as*ault

and if I have any questions, I'll interrupt.

You know, I find it difficult to believe

you can even take this woman seriously.

[Detective] We're just checking her report, ma'am.

Detective, Valene Gibson used to be married

to the man that I live with

and at the time she alleges I attacked her

I was at a business conference in San Francisco.

And you have witnesses?

Of course, Around sixty.

Could I get some of the names?

-Sure. I'll send you a list. -Thank you.

You have to understand.

In our work, and it's probably the same

in your field, we go a lot on gut instinct.

It's not very scientific, is it?

Off the record

I think Mrs. Gibson is seriously disturbed

and if I were you, I would keep my eye open

for a chance to slap her with a restraining order.

Thank you.

I may just end up having to do that.

Actually, I feel pretty sorry for her.

Well, if there's anything I can do to help...

-Thank you. It's a pleasure. -Thank you.

Bye-bye.

[dramatic music plays]

Peggy. Hi.

[Jill] Could you phone the florist

and send Val some flowers, please?

Yeah, something cheery.

[knocks on door, door opens]

Come in.

[Val and Karen] Aww.

They're beautiful.

Aren't they pretty?

-Who are they from? -I don't know who they're from.

Let's see.

It's from Mack.

Oh, that's sweet.

-Yeah. -I think they're beautiful.

Caseworker's coming to interview you

in a few minutes.

But we've already talked to the police.

Well, this is about child custody.

But there's no custody problem.

My children are staying with the neighbors.

[Peggy] You'll have to discuss this with the caseworker.

I'm not talking to any caseworker.

You can have the caseworker call officer...

-Duling. -Yeah, Duling.

She's familiar with my facts.

She's already spoken with officer Duling.

Everybody only wants to do what's best for the children.

-Karen, hand me the phone. -Val...

-Give me the phone. Karen. -Val...

Val, you've got to think of this from someone else's perspective.

-Karen... -There was a suicide note.

-Which I didn't write. -And Jill was in San Francisco.

-Didn't-- -Please don't interrupt me.

Okay?

If you persist in telling the story

about the wig and the g*n, it's going to affect

your chances of keeping your children.

-Keeping them? -Yes.

Your story doesn't sound logical.

[dramatic music plays]

You don't believe me?

I believe you believe what you're saying.

-But you want me to lie? -No. I don't want you to lie.

I want you to think clearly

and try to figure out what's real

and what's not.

-For Betsy and Bobby. -Alright, Karen.

If I tell them the truth

they're going to think I'm crazy.

And if I lie, then Jill's going to get away...

with trying to k*ll me.

-How's this? Do I look... -Fine It looks good.

Right?

-[knocks on door] -The caseworker's on her way.

Oh, thanks, Sheila.

Oh. Do you want some rouge?

I have the one that's Cher's favorite.

-No way you should-- -Oh, no, thanks. That's okay.

I've got some here.

Do you think maybe that you could...

Okay. I'm history.

And if I were you, I'd ask me to stay

cause next to me

[chuckles] you look like the Rock of Gibraltar.

-Good luck. -Thank you.

Oh, for what it's worth

I believe you.

Thanks.

Do you think maybe it would look better

if I sat in a chair?

-Yeah, fine. -Okay.

Yeah, I think this doesn't-- You sit on the bed.

[knocks on door]

-Hello. -Hi there.

-I'm Valene. -Hi, Val.

-Oh. -And this is my friend Karen.

-Yes. I'm Karen MacKenzie. -Hi. And I'm Molly Epstein. Hi.

Karen, what Val and I have to discuss is confidential, so--

No, wait. I've asked her to stay.

-Unless you think that's-- -Oh, no. That's fine.

Alright. Alright.

Karen?

[sighs] Well.

You've had a rough couple of days, Val.

Yeah.

Would you tell me about it?

Why, I took too many sleeping pills.

And?

And I've had a rough couple days.

No one... No one tried to k*ll you?

No one forced you to take those sleeping pills?

No.

But you told the police that some--

Well, that was...

I think that was just the effects of the drug.

So there was no m*rder attempt?

No.

[whispering] I see.

Val, were you feeling depressed before you took those pills?

[Val] No.

[Molly] Why did you take them?

-[Val] To help me sleep. -Well, why'd you take so many?

It was an accident. I-I guess I took some.

And then I-I forgot how many I'd taken

and then I just took some more.

[Molly] Yeah, but wouldn't you have fallen asleep

before you could have consumed the whole bottle?

Well, I don't know. It was just an accident.

Would you be embarrassed to admit

that you had tried to commit suicide?

[nervous chuckle]

It wasn't suicide. It was just a-a silly accident.

-Val. Listen to me. -[Val] What?

I'm a widow.

I know how painful it is to lose a husband.

Now, were you feeling depressed

when you found out your husband was dead?

I mean, is that why you wrote the suicide note?

[tense music plays]

You know what?

It doesn't matter what I say.

You're never gonna believe me.

-[knocks on door] -[Gary] Val?

Thank you for coming.

[chuckles] You don't have to thank me for--

Gary.

I want you to promise

that you won't try to take custody

of Betsy and Bobby.

What?

They must stay with Mama until...

Until this whole thing is over. Promise me.

No, I know you think I'm crazy...

-But I haven't... -Please don't talk.

You have every good reason to believe that

but let me tell you something.

If those children spend one minute with that woman

with Jill, then I will...

I truly will go crazy.

I would not be able to bear that.

Promise me that you won't go after custody.

Gary, promise me.

[Gregory] It was a hell of a job we did on those ads

for those little water conservation--

Yeah, they got me you as a client.

I don't want to be a client, I want you on my staff.

I only freelance.

-I'll pay you twice for that. -You'll do that anyway.

Here's the story.

I'm a former United States senator.

Close. Nasty election. Fifty-one percent of the vote.

Resigned after six weeks in office

to run your father's corporation.

Now you're sorry you did?

The only thing I'm sorry about is that I can't control

the things that are near and dear to my heart.

That's a problem that afflicts a lot more people

than just former senators.

So you want to get your feet wet again?

I wanna find out what my options are.

Elective office?

I may have burned those bridges.

Appointive?

I wouldn't turn down the key to the Court of Saint James's.

Big corporate boards, foundations

special committees, charities, etcetera.

You tell me.

I wanna find out

what John Q. Public thinks of me.

What if John Q. Public doesn't think of you?

Well, maybe he should.

Don't like being out of sight, do you?

I don't mind being out of sight. I don't like being out of mind.

I can test the waters of the survey.

-Confidential? -No problem.

I'll get back to you with a few options.

Soon?

It's a good thing I'm a freelancer.

You guys are so lucky

you're gonna get to go see your grandma.

I don't wanna go.

You don't wanna go?

You're gonna have such a good time.

She can take you to the park and the zoo.

She even told me there's a train in the park

and Al's gonna take you fishing.

I don't want to go.

You don't?

But you're going to have a good time, I promise.

The doctor says your mom has got to get

a little bit more rest, so...

And you give grandma a hug and a kiss for me, will you?

Will you tell her how much I miss her, huh?

Promise?

Give me a hug and a kiss.

Good boy.

You take care of each other, alright?

-It'll be fine. -I know. Just go.

-Okay, you guys. Say goodbye. -Bye.

-Bye. -Bye, sweetie. Bye.

[sentimental music plays]

[engine revving]

[suspenseful music plays]

You see anybody?

Maybe we're early.

[sighs]

[birds chirping]

[engine revving]

Ahí está.

Okay. Plenty of room for everybody.

[rear door clanking]

Sorry, no air conditioning.

How long do we have to stay in there for?

Here. Hurry up.

[engine revving]

[shouting] Whoa! Hey! Oh, h*, h*, h*!

Just hold it right there.

What is this we've got going here, huh?

-[clicks g*n] -A little ferry service?

You guys forgot to buy your tickets.

Come on out.

But we have already paid.

Not me, you haven't.

I mean, you people are willing to come over here

and take our jobs, take food out of my mouth.

I don't think that's right.

[woman speaks in foreign language]

But I am willing to let you come into my country for a fee.

And that fee is every dime you got on here.

Come on, you know these people don't come in with any money.

-We have no more money. -[clicks g*n]

[Michael] Wait, I got about 60 bucks, I think.

Here.

Sixty bucks.

Wait, I have 400 dollar.

American?

[man speaks in foreign language]

Forty dollars?

I'm broke.

If I had any money, I would have hired a private car.

We don't have any more. If we did, we'd give it to you.

-Get in the van. -What?

[shouting] Get in the van.

All of you. Get in there.

Welcome to America.

[rear door clanking]

[engine rumbling]

Wait. Wait.

[man speaking in foreign language]

[engine revving]

They're gone.

[grunts]

[grunting] Oh.

-Oh, my God. -Oh, my God.

What time is it?

-[clanks] -[thuds]

-[clanks] -[thuds]

[shouting] Let us out!

-[loud thud] -[gasp]

[Michael shouting] et us out!

[narrator] Next, on Knots Landing...

He said he'd rather die like a man than like a woman.

Paige.

[grunts]

[man] They crossed the border last night.

I dropped them off right here.

-Take a doctor. -And a priest.

He needs this more than I do.

He needs nothing anymore.

[dramatic music plays]

As scared as she says she is of me

I'm equally scared of her.

[Gary] Val would never hurt anyone.

[theme music plays]

[music continues]
